A raw meatball that I was told over and over again had been cooked well multiple times
    Mark A.

Wow. What a bummer. The fried chicken sandwich that we ordered was killer, but our meatball sandwich that was on sale and marketed as "day old meatballs" was completely raw in the middle. I called just to give them a heads up and was gaslit that the meatballs had been cooked all the way through. I was told multiple times "Sir they were baked well and then also cooked again in the sauce". To which I kept having to explain that they may have been cooked multiple times, but never to temp. The person I spoke with wouldn't budge, would not admit any wrong and never validated what I was saying could be true which is the only reason I'm writing a review. A simple "I'm sorry we messed up." or even just a "Thank you for letting us know" was all I was looking for. I didn't even want anything in return I just figured they'd probably want to know. I attached a picture for reference. I also want to reiterate that it is not the raw meatball I was upset about. It was the absolutely bizarre customer service.

I've been wanting to try Picnic in Albany for such a long time and finally on St. Patrick's Day I had the chance to stop in. I love the idea of grabbing items fresh to-go for your very own picnic, or having them in the immediate with either indoor/outdoor seating. From fresh salads, daily sandwich specials, chips/sides, rotisserie chicken and the fixins, desserts, drinks, and also a full case of to-go sausages, sliced meats, pâtés and more, there is def. something on the menu for everyone here in this cozy corner spot! We had the Sunday sandwich of the day which was corned beef, cabbage, parsley aioli, and Dijon mustard on a super fresh Acme roll. Also ordered was a chocolate chip shortbread cookie and of course, a Topo Chico seltzer to wash it down. Honestly, everything was so delicious! I could have ordered more food like the fresh-made Mac n cheese, but we had to make an appointment. I can't wait to comeback to try another daily sandwich special like the Smoked Ham Melt or Fried Chicken on Fridays. Also can't wait to try the rotisserie chicken and sides for a summer outing now that the weather is getting better! The team behind Picnic can also be found at local farmer's markets like Kensington and the Gilman Wine Block/First Fridays in Berk. grilling up their sausages & more! Overall great service, value for the ingredients served, and super cute vibes - can't wait to share this spot with others!

Have always passed by this adorable storefront and today was the day to venture inside. The inside is cozy and colorful, which I think serves their local, limited menu style very well. I ordered the chicken and Italian butter bean soup and a small mac and cheese and for $16, thought the value was good. I enjoyed the soup, it was hot and tasty, but the ratio of bits:broth is high on the broth end. Would have loved to see more beans in my cup. But that could really have been the luck of the ladle. The mac and cheese was nice, with a surprise breadcrumb I didn't know would be in it. The cheese was starting to separate and congeal in the way that mac and cheeses sometimes do; didn't stop me from finishing it! Will definitely come back to try a sandwich and a rotisserie chicken soon.

{icnic now makes a chicken pot pie and it's wonderful, serving me two meals. It's very tasty and not too rich. So much better than the Swanson's chicken pot pies of my childhood, a;though I liked those then. They also make a chicken liver paté that's quite good. I've been enjoying it on toasted Rize Up OG bread. They're now open every day of the week.

Half of the chicken and a little serving of the chicken pot pie. Yummy!

The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and so was the chicken pot pie. I came for lunch. They were pre-made, so they weren't piping hot. It didn't matter. We ate them room temp, and everything was well seasoned. I could have heated them, but they didn't need it. I'd stop here if I was going on a long hike and wanted to bring something wonderful to eat. The service was also delightful. Kind people. It's a cute little shop. I think they have seating outside in the summer. I've driven by so many times and wanted to come in. They have a fridge with sausages that I think they make, wine, cute little knickknacks. Highly recommend!

It was an ideal place to take a group because 1) it was fast casual 2) everyone can put in their individual orders without the awk who's-going-to-put-their-card-in issue 3) there were 2 restaurants (Chimmelier + Oh G Burger) in 1 so more options! What I got: 8 pc sweet gochujang wings (sauce was called YANG'YUM') and a side of tots with a cup for water **the wings were from Chimmelier and the tots were from Oh G Burger We were able to combine two tables together to fit our group of 5 and the cashier brought our food over in quick succession. The tots were my fav even tho the wings were supposed to be the star of the show. I liked how they gave me PLENTY of disposable gloves because the sauce is v sticky. Gochujang is a savory, sweet Korean chili paste, but I would say it was more sweet than spicy. I enjoyed my meal but maybe would wanna try a dry rub because putting on gloves every time can be a chore. I went for a yelp elite perk once and grabbed their chicken sando which was tasty.

I almost forgot that the invitation included two complimentary entrées, which made the experience even better! I ordered the Salmon & Swai Combo Grilled Plate with rice, choosing both the Garlic Butter and Cajun Style seasonings. The fish was cooked perfectly--fresh, flaky, and well-seasoned. The rice was surprisingly flavorful, and the Cajun Style had just the right amount of spice without overpowering the fish. It paired wonderfully with both the salmon and swai. My wife ordered the Classic 2-Piece Battered Fish & Chips. She really enjoyed the fish, saying the batter was light, crispy, and not overly thick, allowing the fish to shine. The only downside for her was the fries, which weren't quite as memorable as the fish. The restaurant has a simple, clean, and inviting atmosphere with a spacious indoor dining area, plus outdoor seating if you prefer to dine outside. What stood out just as much as the food was the staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Great customer service makes a big difference, and I hope they continue providing that same level of hospitality after the grand opening. Overall, we had a wonderful first experience. Whenever I'm in search of something good to eat in the Bay Area I always check TikTok first. My search directed me to Southside Station! It's a small quaint establishment with a very quiet vibe. When I entered, there was a table of three gentlemen sitting there enjoying their selections. I checked in with them and got suggestions on what I should order. They made a recommendation, but I chose something totally different. I ordered the wings and garlic noodles with a side of brussels sprouts. This place is known for their fried chicken because it's so extra crunchy. They definitely did deliver on the crunch and the flavor. The garlic noodles were very garlic, which is what I liked, and the brussels sprouts were sautéed in a honey glaze. I decided to enjoy my food inside the restaurant as opposed to sitting outside where they have two tables set up. The young lady that took my order was ever so sweet and kind. She was the only one I saw in the restaurant behind the counter, but there may have been others working further in the back. There was an error on my order and she was quick to correct the error with an apology and a smile. The portion size was decent. I ended up taking home leftovers.
