I received an offer to receive a free entree if I purchased three tacos. I didn't realize that Chipotle had tacos and they were actually really good. I walked in and the service was quick even though there was a line. I like how they have soft tacos which I was able to customize with their fresh ingredients. I completely understand that a business has to maximize profits from the littlest things possible, to stay in business. This usually comes at the expense of the customer, however this is becoming increasingly difficult to support this restaurant chain.. The portion size is laughable SKIMPY, when told that it wasn't even a full scoop. You get the coldest aura, I'm not saying pack the bowl, because I could always pay for extra. No, this isn't even a single serving. I'd like something other than a bowl filled with rice to the point, veggies couldn't fit, so it gives the illusion that you're getting your moneys worth. This location used to be good, but either change of management in the last year or so, or poor hiring choices make this place the worst chipotle I've ever been to. Every time I come in hoping for a different experience, but it's always the same. Workers look bored, they roll their eyes at me when I ask for more sour cream as if it comes out of their paycheck. This location has significantly declined in quality, service, and portions. It's such an easy fix. If the number one thing that comes to mine when you go to a restaurant is, "if I will get enough food this time?" There's an issue. Decided on the one in El Cerrito because Pinole seems like they have strict ration instructions. Went around 8:30 on a recent Saturday and line was short and watching one of the staff make a bowl in front of me I was starting to get worried. Today is hands down the worst chipotle order I've ever had. The sauce containers were only half full. So was the burrito bowl I ordered. The fajita veggies I could tell are about one day from completely going bad. The Guac is the strangest color green, meaning mixed with brown. The chips were CHEWY. If you have the time the end product is MUCH better if you actually go in, wait on line, and direct the assembly line person to assemble your order(s) the way you want them. And then you might actually tip on the actual end product and not on a hope and a wish. The app may seem like a great time-saver, but if getting things done the way you want them, don't leave it up to anyone on staff to interpret the app order. That's a maybe yes, maybe no situation. Word to the wise, if the parking lot seems anywhere near full when you get there, know that it's not impossible or even unlikely that someone will leave their car blocking you in. I have had a love hate relationship with this Chipolte. In the last 10 months, nothing but love. I order in advance 3-4 times a week. When I get there, I get in line to order my burrito bowl which is really my "oh I want a bowl of corn and carne asada" but ya"ll won't let me do that online. Yeah, I'm the corn addict. I politely pay for my bowl and grab my online order off the shelf. Now I'm not greedy. I'm not trying to get nothing for free. I get things have gone up. I don't complain. BUT today- imma say something! Never dealt with this particular person before but when I tell you she leveled off the carne asada on the ladle before putting it in the bowl, I was like oh she didn't hear me. I told her "No, I'll pay for two full scoops" She then gives me stank eye, picks up the ladle to show me that's all you get. When I tell you it didn't even cover the bottle of the bowl, I was hot. But I'm old, and will go full tilt quick so I paid for it. Grabbed my other order and said I'll deal with this trash when I calm down. A trick for when you order bowls with salsa, as soon as you get into your car, flip the metal side down so you don't get a soggy bag. So I put the bowl in the fridge and ate the online order. I just pulled my bowl out that she said that she said was two full scoops - well the picture speaks for itself. Yeah, she can kick rocks! I visited this establishment tonight around 9:30. There were no customers only me. I walked in wasn't greeted at all. They made me wait like 1 minute before calling someone from the back to take my order. As I wait 2 Hispanic women came in and they were greeted with a hello welcome!!! That made me feel a way so I let them go ahead of me while I searched my phone for a different location. They had one in Pinole but I didn't feel like driving. My pregnant daughter wanted it. As I watch them make the people food in front of me one girl got 3 spoons of steak no she didn't ask for it because I heard her order. When it came to my food I got one scoop of steak and one scoop of chicken. I know it's because I was discriminated against but that location doesn't have to worry about seeing my face again. Horrible customer service here. They're so busy doing takeout orders that they don't actually serve the patrons in the restaurant! They took a really long time before they could take my order and I was just standing there. Then after they made my burrito when I got up to the register, there was no one to ring me up. I got a job delivering a large catering order for this restaurant - the order was approximately $2000 worth of food - 10 huge boxes that filled up a full size Tacoma truck. I waited 30 minutes and then drove it 4 miles to a birthday party. I would imagine the party host tipped well but I never found out as Chipotle kept it all - I was paid EIGHT FUCKING DOLLARS!!! for a two thousand dollar delivery! I will NEVER eat at any Chipotle ever again, nor will my family - I will make it a point to tell anyone who will listen how disgustingly this company treats people - this type of short term thinking is why businesses go bankrupt and your turn will come sooner rather than later. My husband and I got a couple of burrito bowls for dinner and brought them home. Once again, and this seems to happen often, it was over-salted. Tonight it was the rice that was loaded with salt, to the point of making it inedible. We were hungry enough to eat it, even though we both wanted to toss it out. What gives? With the exception of In n Out Burger, I am not a fan of chain restaurants. Chipotle is different. As shared and agreed with the sweet mom and daughter in line in front of me, the food is fresh and healthy. I should have added that it is also truly tasty and reasonably priced. Pictured is a chicken bowl with brown rice, corn, pico de gallo, green salsa, lettuce, and probably a couple other items I am forgetting. Very generous, it could have been two meals if I wanted :-) Must give credit where due: every single employee was working hard and well. I believe there were four employees total, one handling the proteins, two preparing customer orders, and one handling the cash register. It was busy during dinner rush hour and a lot for the crew of four to handle. But without complaint, steadily and carefully working each order, the staff soldiered on well. This was Wed 11/23/22. Manager or business owner: please compensate your staff well. Take care of the thing that takes care of you. Each one of those employees were focused and taking care of business. Finally, I must give credit to us, the customers. During these crazy times in our world, somehow we were all... patient. Not a negative comment on the staff, preparing each customer order takes time. I work in the area so it's easy for me to walk here for lunch. I thought it was just me with the portion size and what seems to be stingy, but I have read so many other comments with the same grievance. I'm not a big l or a greedy guy, but the money spent and the amount served is dis-proportional. And then when you asked for a little more, they look at you like they don't understand English all of a sudden. When they were just understanding English just fine. I stopped into this location last week. I hadn't visited a Chipotle in a very long time for no other reason than I don't really care for cilantro or raw onions or beans. That's the staple of everything Chipotle serves. Needless, I stopped in anyways because I do like their toppings that I choose for MY bowls. I ordered a bowl with white rice and NO beans. Then I get grilled chicken and add their sofritas for more flavor! Moving on to mild pico, corn, and sour cream. That's a perfect bowl for me because I take it home and dip my own store bought tortilla chips into it. The rice hit differently on this day. Not so much cilantro AND I tasted lime on the rice. Lots of it. SO SO good!! I am a huge lime fan. So, @Chipotle, if this was intentional, then kudos! My issue is when I pay for the bowl (and a bottled Coke). It was near $22. Twenty-two dollars???? REALLY? I don't really find the value in this AT ALL. $22 for some rice/chicken and a coke. I don't get it. To me, it's outrageous to charge that amount for that food. What am I missing here that draws people to pay these prices? On top of that - there is the customary TIP amount on the payment device........uh NO! What, if anything, outside of your normal duties and responsibilities did you go out of your way to help me? If I'm standing in line to order my food, then tips aren't necessary to me. If I'm sitting down for a meal and a server is bringing me: ........... I absolutely tip well. Knowing this and the prices, will I return? It will likely be far and few between. I was waiting to order a bowl and I noticed the employee who was making the order ahead of me did it so efficiently and cleanly. It couldn't have taken more than a minute to finish the order and not a drop out of place. When it came to me, he greeted me so politely and was very cheerful and I learned his name was Tuesuan Jones. He made me such a neat and clean bowl that the chipotle logo was printed onto the guacamole and not a drop of salsa outside the bowl. Standard Chipotle. This is our go-to for a post-workout lazy dinner. Feels healthy enough, right? For COVID safety purposes, masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and indoor seating is limited. I recommend street parking b/c the lot is awkwardly-shaped and can be hard to pull out of. The staff here have been friendly and kind to us each time (contrary to other reviews.............), even when we swing by near the end of their shift. Hoping they're paid well......................... We always tip. My order has consistently been a chicken bowl with the works. Their guac and proteins are solid. Be warned that they just DOUSE the entire bowl with sour cream, so be sure to ask for less ahead of time if that's not your preference. TIP: I always request extra corn, and the staff add it at no addtl charge :') read more

I haven't had a good chipotle bowl in a minuet actually in years. The night crew that was working brought back why I love chipotle so much. The food was fresh the portions were great. The service was excellent. Shauna was the manager and was so sweet and the young man who made my bowl was so sweet as well. This place is hit or miss. Usually pretty good. I never write Yelp reviews. But today they did me dirty I got guacamole with my bowl. I watched them scoop a good portion of guac on the ladle, just to dump most of it out and give me some tiny dollop of guac. I asked for more guac, but I was told that this was the portion, if I wanted extra, it would be another 2.40 something.
