It's been a while since I've been to a Chipotle so I gave this place a try across the street from the El Cerrito Plaza! I got the salad bowl with double adobo chicken which was seasoned nicely! They also offer a cilantro lime sauce on the side, which was pretty tasty as well! The location was clean, plenty of parking and easy to get to and the portions were decent. I would definitely come back and we did tonight lol read more

I can't believe I'm leaving a review for Chipotle but I feel obligated to. I come here often enough for my son because he likes it a lot. Everyone knows there are several more delicious, authentic options in the area. But alas, if Chipotle is what the kid wants, it's what he gets. My problem is they are effing crooks. Chipotle, you know what you're doing, especially when someone orders online. $17 for a flat, skimpy, shitty burrito? What are we doing here? The ratios are off, you put nothing inside of it intentionally. It's like giant floppy tortilla with a few lumps. I complained once, and had them remake it, but I don't have the energy or time to do it every time. If I was working here I'd be hooking people up. You guys have it all wrong. My point is that you should really go anywhere else as Chipotle consistently and intentionally rips off their paying customers with substandard, small, overpriced mediocre food. Chipotle, you know what you're doing. Do better. read more

We placed an online order for two salads. I picked up the salads and drove off and realized that I wasn't given any salad dressing. I turn around and went back to the restaurant to get the dressing. When I told the person at the counter that she forgot to give me any salad dressing, she went to the back. When she returned she said they were out of salad dressing. I asked how long before the woukd have more and was told 25-30 minutes. My issue, why weren't we informed when ordering there was no dressing?? I would have made another choice. So I'm a little irritated because I love their dressing but I can just use my plain balsamic dressing that I have at home. Once I returned home and sat down to eat my salad, I removed the tin and found what is pictured. Where is the lettuce? And why does it look unappetizing?? I dug and did manage to find a few pieces of wilted lettuce smothered on the bottom! I tried to use their forum to complain but could not find a number or an area to submit a written complaint only an AI generated forum that only offered a few options. So, since there was no simple way to file a complaint I turned to Yelp. I will not be returning to this chipotle! read more

Stopped in Chipotle while visiting family in the Bay Area. The place was clean and there wasn't a long line at all. The servers were fast and we're friendly when I asked for a little bit more on my bowl. I'm taking away one star because the guacamole was a bit brownish. I'll probably come back here because my family lives in the area. read more

I received an offer to receive a free entree if I purchased three tacos. I didn't realize that Chipotle had tacos and they were actually really good. I walked in and the service was quick even though there was a line. I like how they have soft tacos which I was able to customize with their fresh ingredients. I will definitely get the tacos again soon. read more

I completely understand that a business has to maximize profits from the littlest things possible, to stay in business. This usually comes at the expense of the customer, however this is becoming increasingly difficult to support this restaurant chain.. The portion size is laughable SKIMPY, when told that it wasn't even a full scoop. You get the coldest aura, I'm not saying pack the bowl, because I could always pay for extra. No, this isn't even a single serving. I'd like something other than a bowl filled with rice to the point, veggies couldn't fit, so it gives the illusion that you're getting your moneys worth. This is pathetic. The employees can do better as well, a costumer just wants a better way of making our food. So the irritated, obvious annoyed body language isn't warranted. Especially in this economy where $30 for two bowls filled with rice, could be spent elsewhere.. read more

This location used to be good, but either change of management in the last year or so, or poor hiring choices make this place the worst chipotle I've ever been to. Every time I come in hoping for a different experience, but it's always the same. Workers look bored, they roll their eyes at me when I ask for more sour cream as if it comes out of their paycheck. I usually see the same people here, and they always under serve their portions. There's a guy who always mumbles that under serves portions and is rude when I ask for more. Poor management, bad employees, terrible location. Corporate should be absolutely ashamed of this location as it's gone from great to irrelevant in the last year. The only good thing this location is good for is to refill my tapatio bottles and for napkins read more

This location has significantly declined in quality, service, and portions. It's such an easy fix. If the number one thing that comes to mine when you go to a restaurant is, "if I will get enough food this time?" There's an issue. Portion sizes have gotten to ration levels where half scoops of everything, including salsa, cheese, and lettuce portions have become a norm. It's not even a hard ask, look at Panda Express or something read more

Been on a Chipotle strike for a bit because prices have went up and serving amounts decreased. Was running late for dinner one night and decided to give them a go. Decided on the one in El Cerrito because Pinole seems like they have strict ration instructions. Went around 8:30 on a recent Saturday and line was short and watching one of the staff make a bowl in front of me I was starting to get worried. However, someone else came from the back and started our order. I usually order double meat but didn't need too. Ordered three bowls and was happy with quality, quantity and freshness of food. Will be back to El Cerrito location. read more

My husband and son's wanted to come here. I checked the yelp reviews and was skeptical about coming because of bad reviews most complaints about skimpy food portions. We decided to risk it. Today is hands down the worst chipotle order I've ever had. The sauce containers were only half full. So was the burrito bowl I ordered. The fajita veggies I could tell are about one day from completely going bad. The Guac is the strangest color green, meaning mixed with brown. The chips were CHEWY. After a few bites, I had to toss it, it was gross and I didn't want to make myself sick I guess I'll be needing to take a long break from chipotle, if I decide to go back. read more

Yea the service here was alright but the attitude could be a lot better. The black lady asks me if I was picking up with hella attitude but I'm also sitting down with my daughter so that's a weird assumption. Then rolls her eyes at me then asks my wife that is in line if she has a pick up. By now she should know the pick up orders don't usually wait in line. But yea she needs to work on her attitude read more

Came in today to spend $50 on food that was served with a straight ATTITUDE by a lady named Adrienna or something like that she didn't even have on a name tag. I still wanted items on my burrito and she started sloppily wrapping the burrito before I could finish and had an attitude she had to unroll it and add the additional items I wanted ( sour cream , cheese and salsa ) and The chips were STALE like her attitude. Couldn't pay me to return to this location, how are you mad that I want what I'm PAYING FOR made a certain way ? read more

If you have the time the end product is MUCH better if you actually go in, wait on line, and direct the assembly line person to assemble your order(s) the way you want them. And then you might actually tip on the actual end product and not on a hope and a wish. The app may seem like a great time-saver, but if getting things done the way you want them, don't leave it up to anyone on staff to interpret the app order. That's a maybe yes, maybe no situation. Word to the wise, if the parking lot seems anywhere near full when you get there, know that it's not impossible or even unlikely that someone will leave their car blocking you in. Did they go across the street to buy a gun? Who knows. But, the manager here is very good about doing what he can to give you a clear exit. read more

I have had a love hate relationship with this Chipolte. In the last 10 months, nothing but love. I order in advance 3-4 times a week. When I get there, I get in line to order my burrito bowl which is really my "oh I want a bowl of corn and carne asada" but ya"ll won't let me do that online. Yeah, I'm the corn addict. I politely pay for my bowl and grab my online order off the shelf. Now I'm not greedy. I'm not trying to get nothing for free. I get things have gone up. I don't complain. BUT today- imma say something! Never dealt with this particular person before but when I tell you she leveled off the carne asada on the ladle before putting it in the bowl, I was like oh she didn't hear me. I told her "No, I'll pay for two full scoops" She then gives me stank eye, picks up the ladle to show me that's all you get. When I tell you it didn't even cover the bottle of the bowl, I was hot. But I'm old, and will go full tilt quick so I paid for it. Grabbed my other order and said I'll deal with this trash when I calm down. A trick for when you order bowls with salsa, as soon as you get into your car, flip the metal side down so you don't get a soggy bag. So I put the bowl in the fridge and ate the online order. I just pulled my bowl out that she said that she said was two full scoops - well the picture speaks for itself. Yeah, she can kick rocks! I don't argue about the price but you know you was wrong as hell for this trash. read more

I visited this establishment tonight around 9:30. There were no customers only me. I walked in wasn't greeted at all. They made me wait like 1 minute before calling someone from the back to take my order. As I wait 2 Hispanic women came in and they were greeted with a hello welcome!!! That made me feel a way so I let them go ahead of me while I searched my phone for a different location. They had one in Pinole but I didn't feel like driving. My pregnant daughter wanted it. As I watch them make the people food in front of me one girl got 3 spoons of steak no she didn't ask for it because I heard her order. When it came to my food I got one scoop of steak and one scoop of chicken. I know it's because I was discriminated against but that location doesn't have to worry about seeing my face again. I should've walked out but I was trying to fulfill my daughter's craving. As black consumers just became cautious of where you spend your money !!! Chipotle Discriminates !!!! BECAREFULL read more

I got a job delivering a large catering order for this restaurant - the order was approximately $2000 worth of food - 10 huge boxes that filled up a full size Tacoma truck. I waited 30 minutes and then drove it 4 miles to a birthday party. I would imagine the party host tipped well but I never found out as Chipotle kept it all - I was paid EIGHT FUCKING DOLLARS!!! for a two thousand dollar delivery! I will NEVER eat at any Chipotle ever again, nor will my family - I will make it a point to tell anyone who will listen how disgustingly this company treats people - this type of short term thinking is why businesses go bankrupt and your turn will come sooner rather than later. PS. Your copy 'n paste response to every negative review, shows you really don't care what experience your customers are receiving - this is us explaining our experiences at your establishment - telling is to go to another website to explain all over again is worse that lame. read more

This store in particular is VERY STINGY with their guacamole!! The last 4 times I've visited, they gave less than 1 scoop of guac which is unacceptable. Horrible customer service here. They're so busy doing takeout orders that they don't actually serve the patrons in the restaurant! They took a really long time before they could take my order and I was just standing there. Then after they made my burrito when I got up to the register, there was no one to ring me up. I literally stood there for over seven minutes and no one was able to ring me up. I ended up just leaving my burrito there and walking out. Totally horrible. read more

So I ordered through the app to skip the line and make the process faster. I ordered this last night around 8:50 and picked it up less than 15 minutes later. I usually don't complain about Chipotle because it's a "healthier" version of fast foods and is usually made with fresh ingredients, but this is definitely something I needed to review. This bowl was so disappointing and WATERY. With everything looking the way it did (soggy and wet), it certainly wasn't worth the stop or the money. read more

Chipotle Mexican Grill - Carnitas bowl, black beans and no rice - Mexican Near Me - El Cerrito, California

With the exception of In n Out Burger, I am not a fan of chain restaurants. Chipotle is different. As shared and agreed with the sweet mom and daughter in line in front of me, the food is fresh and healthy. I should have added that it is also truly tasty and reasonably priced. Pictured is a chicken bowl with brown rice, corn, pico de gallo, green salsa, lettuce, and probably a couple other items I am forgetting. Very generous, it could have been two meals if I wanted :-) Must give credit where due: every single employee was working hard and well. I believe there were four employees total, one handling the proteins, two preparing customer orders, and one handling the cash register. It was busy during dinner rush hour and a lot for the crew of four to handle. But without complaint, steadily and carefully working each order, the staff soldiered on well. This was Wed 11/23/22. Manager or business owner: please compensate your staff well. Take care of the thing that takes care of you. Each one of those employees were focused and taking care of business. Finally, I must give credit to us, the customers. During these crazy times in our world, somehow we were all... patient. Not a negative comment on the staff, preparing each customer order takes time. But a comment on society, that we can more than just coexist, harmoniously, even happily. read more

GREAT JOB ON STAYING SAFE, GUYS! My son and I just grabbed lunch here and everyone was wearing masks and gloves, and they were so nice and prompt. I reached for my empty cup to fill it up with soda, and the cashier very sweetly said, "Ma'am, I need to fill that for you." And the food was YUMMY. I forgot how great the chips are. My husband and I got a couple of burrito bowls for dinner and brought them home. Once again, and this seems to happen often, it was over-salted. Tonight it was the rice that was loaded with salt, to the point of making it inedible. We were hungry enough to eat it, even though we both wanted to toss it out. What gives? We eat there regularly, but in the last six months, this problem keeps coming up. Somebody there is very heavy-handed with the salt, either with the chicken, the rice or the chips. Please make them stop! We want our money back. read more

I stopped into this location last week. I hadn't visited a Chipotle in a very long time for no other reason than I don't really care for cilantro or raw onions or beans. That's the staple of everything Chipotle serves. Needless, I stopped in anyways because I do like their toppings that I choose for MY bowls. I ordered a bowl with white rice and NO beans. Then I get grilled chicken and add their sofritas for more flavor! Moving on to mild pico, corn, and sour cream. That's a perfect bowl for me because I take it home and dip my own store bought tortilla chips into it. The rice hit differently on this day. Not so much cilantro AND I tasted lime on the rice. Lots of it. SO SO good!! I am a huge lime fan. So, @Chipotle, if this was intentional, then kudos! My issue is when I pay for the bowl (and a bottled Coke). It was near $22. Twenty-two dollars???? REALLY? I don't really find the value in this AT ALL. $22 for some rice/chicken and a coke. I don't get it. To me, it's outrageous to charge that amount for that food. What am I missing here that draws people to pay these prices? On top of that - there is the customary TIP amount on the payment device........uh NO! What, if anything, outside of your normal duties and responsibilities did you go out of your way to help me? If I'm standing in line to order my food, then tips aren't necessary to me. If I'm sitting down for a meal and a server is bringing me: ........... I absolutely tip well. Knowing this and the prices, will I return? It will likely be far and few between. I will also cut out the Coke to help with the overall cost. This is a high price/low value proposition in my mind. Sorry, Chipotle - food good, pricing bad. read more

I haven't written a yelp review in years. I definitely don't write negative reviews either. But this place has been asking for it for several months. I work in the area so it's easy for me to walk here for lunch. I thought it was just me with the portion size and what seems to be stingy, but I have read so many other comments with the same grievance. I'm not a big l or a greedy guy, but the money spent and the amount served is dis-proportional. And then when you asked for a little more, they look at you like they don't understand English all of a sudden. When they were just understanding English just fine. Then I say it in Spanish and then the answer is plainly no, or it's gonna cost more. I would like to say this is my last time coming here. If not, they for sure we have the stank face every time I see them. read more

Standard Chipotle. This is our go-to for a post-workout lazy dinner. Feels healthy enough, right? For COVID safety purposes, masks are required, social distancing is encouraged, and indoor seating is limited. I recommend street parking b/c the lot is awkwardly-shaped and can be hard to pull out of. The staff here have been friendly and kind to us each time (contrary to other reviews.............), even when we swing by near the end of their shift. Hoping they're paid well......................... We always tip. My order has consistently been a chicken bowl with the works. Their guac and proteins are solid. Be warned that they just DOUSE the entire bowl with sour cream, so be sure to ask for less ahead of time if that's not your preference. TIP: I always request extra corn, and the staff add it at no addtl charge :') read more

Chipotle always has a bad rep but this spot is bussing. The people who served me were super friendly and I'm making my go to spot.

I was waiting to order a bowl and I noticed the employee who was making the order ahead of me did it so efficiently and cleanly. It couldn't have taken more than a minute to finish the order and not a drop out of place. When it came to me, he greeted me so politely and was very cheerful and I learned his name was Tuesuan Jones. This place is hit or miss. Usually pretty good. I never write Yelp reviews. But today they did me dirty I got guacamole with my bowl. I watched them scoop a good portion of guac on the ladle, just to dump most of it out and give me some tiny dollop of guac. I asked for more guac, but I was told that this was the portion, if I wanted extra, it would be another 2.40 something.
