I really liked all the food we ordered. That while fried tilapia served with sauce was my favorite dish! The sauce tasted like a Mexican bbq sauce, flavorful with spices. We also tried their birria, super tender meat. We also ordered 3 tacos plate because it happened to be Tuesday so we felt like we HAD to try their Taco Tuesday special which is 3 tacos of your choice served with beans and rice. The people working there were super friendly and checked in on us to see if we needed anything else. Their service here was exceeding my expectations. Restaurant was clean. I liked that they don't have salsa sitting around for people to self serve, everything is handled by their staff behind the counters. I noticed their food is on the lower sodium side compared to other restaurants. I personally prefer less salt because sodium isn't good for our health and I like to put extra sauces on my Mexican food anyway. But one of my friends thought their food tasted a bit bland. Called the delivery driver to make sure he didn't forget a 2nd bag since I also ordered tacos and nachos. He confirmed it was only one bag that was in my order. I recently tried this Mexican restaurant since it's so convenient that is so close to home. The service is good, they are so polite and are sure to ask how and what you want on your food. The restaurant looks clean and has good lighting. I like that the taco bar looks fresh and clean. The portions are generous in my opinion. I'm glad they offer a variety of options and the quality of the meat/chicken is great. I downloaded the app to order, and they were quick to make the food. My husband brought me a burrito from here and this is how I asked him to order it for me. Burrito alpastor Rice Refried beans Sour cream Pico de gallo Guacamole Salsa roja "First bite, I hit a huge glob of refried beans. I tried to work around it by cutting it open and scooping some out, but the burrito was honestly inedible. There was so much grease that it was even all over the rice. I have been craving and I mean craving for some quesabirria tacos! There were so many options to choose and so little time. So I had to narrow down to what was close to the event I attended. There's inside and outside seating. The menu is on the left. It's easy to read with big letters. You're welcomed in immediately by a staff member. You can smell the food as soon as you enter too. My stomach grumbled quickly. I was going to order three quesabirria tacos because I am so used to doing that at other restaurants. But a staff member did me a solid and showed me just how big their version of that taco is. So I went ahead and order two instead. Spent about $15 for it. They have complimentary chips and salsa too. I had a very disappointing experience last night. My boyfriend and I came in near closing time because we didn't realize they were about to close -- we had been out all night and were exhausted. The woman taking our order was extremely rude and unwelcoming. The only positive part of the experience was the kind lady at the register who checked me out. Unfortunately, it got worse when we got home. I found hair in my food, and my boyfriend couldn't even eat his steak plate because it tasted like it had been sitting under eggs all day. She finally took my son to dinner here and he told us it was better than our usual place and we needed to try it so we decided to try it. It is definitely a winner. We came in on a week night it was not very busy but steady stream of customers. The servers were very nice and greeted us when we came in. The restaurant looked very nice and clean. I got the quesabirrias Thursday special and it was delicious. The consume was very good too. The food was hot, fresh and well seasoned. The sides and salsas were good and fresh. We came here for food after a hike. The food was pretty good. There was a large order that came in ahead of us. The way the workers were organized, it was hard for me to manage paying for all the different people in our party and the workers got upset with me it seemed. I couldn't explain in Spanish what I was trying to do, so um... the worker made me feel a little uncomfortable and I just said "Yes" to whatever she said which apparently conflicted with something, because she ended up just setting a tray of food down angrily which in my culture is very upsetting. Came on a Friday at 2 PM, and the place was mostly empty. Ordered at the counter, service was prompt and helpful. They make your food in front of you and have a huge selection of toppings and vegetables, so you can customize. My boyfriend got 3 tacos, which comes with little cups of rice and beans but no chips. I got a California burrito. The menu says you can choose from chicken or steak, but I was able to get carnitas with no issue. I think they treat all meats as interchangeable except for lengua and seafood, which have an upcharge. The meat portions for the tacos are very generous, but unfortunately the meats weren't well-seasoned. My boyfriend liked the carne asada best, but felt the chicken was chopped too small and thus got too dry. The al pastor pork was too sweet for his taste, but others may prefer that. My burrito was decent, I liked that the fries were freshly fried, which made a welcome crispy contrast to the meat. The carnitas was plentiful, but again, not super flavorful. The addition of corn was unique, but I couldn't pick out any individual flavors from the Serrano aioli or "secret sauce." All in all, service, prices, and portions were on point. The potatoes are good, absorbed the soup flavor. The broth I think is where improvement is needed; it's not as full, it's light. Servers were excellent! Omg yum!! My bf and I were starting a road trip and needed to grab some food for the road. We were craving good burritos so we called in some California burritos and they did not disappoint. I typically get carne asada and he gets chicken. I usually find chicken to be kind of bland but man, both of these burritos were super good. They have some special sauce in there that makes them flavorful and juicy - totally coming back for more!! We also grabbed a order of plantains which came with a sweet sauce - these were also very on point. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and didn't expect to find something so good, fast, and easy right off of the freeway. The meat:carbs ratio was perfect which was surprising because most of the time, restaurants skimp on proteins. So I paid again and this time she didn't ask if I wanted to tip. Therefore I made payments of two different amounts and they both went through. I tried several days to have them charge back my card. They didn't know how. I contacted the manager he said he refunded me. It never reached my account. I didn't accept a receipt at the time so I had no proof. If kill joy was a place, Que Onda would be that place. Was really looking forward to this local eatery because of the initial hype when it first opened. Maybe it was the day, or time, or general rush of the staff, but I came here looking forward to good, fresh eats, only to leave the line stressed and disappointed. First, it's loud in there with popping music in the background, then there's a thick glass in between you and staff (understandable and appreciated with the pandemic going on), but we're all wearing masks as well so it's super difficult to hear each other. They're yelling ingredients with bullet speed and you're trying to hear and answer while trying to ignore their urgency at moving you down the line. I've never felt this rushed at chipotle. I didn't want the papa loca with fries, so I asked for chips instead. Apparently, I could've asked for nachos instead of explaining all that. **Nachos aren't listed on the menu so tip for anyone that wants crisp tortilla chips instead of waffle fries, tell them you want nachos** The lady that took over my order midway didn't try to hear the rest of my toppings and closed the lid. I asked for pico de Gallo on my nachos and the girl at the register said there's already pico on there so we're only giving you some in a small condiment cup. I didn't want to argue with her because I know she didn't see what was not put on my order. By that time, I'm over it. The chicharonnes was hard pork belly. I wouldn't order that protein again. The nachos itself tasted good because of all the fresh queso, beans and cheeses.
