Visited here on my recent trip to the bay area last week! I have probably thought about the shrimp tacos I have ordered every day since then, because they were so good. They were so delicious that I had to go back and order another one! I would say that 3 tacos is the perfect amount for a meal! Also really enjoyed the horchata and the beans and rice. This WAS my #1 Taqueria in Richmond. So about like 2 months ago I started to seeing issues... The meat is the only thing that saves this place. Prices are super expensive but if the food is good I don't mind paying. After the third time they forgot to add crema (sour cream) to my order & I ordered 3 burritos none of them had crema. I get to the 4 or 5 bite and I see a long piece of hair in my burrito which almost made me throw up. I called the place and she asked the cook ( a male) did you put crema on those orders?? I could hear him lie and say YES... She asked me to bring back the food & we can make you a new order. I said no thank you and requested my money back. They did not want to refund me unless I brought the food back. The bill for 3 burritos & 3 horchatas was $71 and some change. I was so disgusted and hungry leaving the taco truck. I give it 1 star due to the meat is good. Now I'm in search of a good taco place.... Any GOOD recommendations????? read more

Check your orders before leaving the last 3 times my orders have been completely wrong . Tired of wasting my money and not getting what I ordered or paid for. The first time I visited this food truck I was very happy with my meal. This would've been in 2019 off a recommendation from a coworker. I had a shrimp burrito. My husband had a steak burrito and then we ordered the kids steak burritos. The food was great but the salsa was better. Since then, I've been back a few times and had a burrito but more lately when I go there there's nothing on the menu I really want. They don't always have seafood so that limits the protein I can really get from this location however it's so close to my husband's job that he often goes there. Thursday afternoon we went by there and I still love the salsa and chips but they do charge for them. My husband got a burrito and my daughter got a chicken burrito. My daughter enjoyed her burrito thoroughly but my husband felt like his super burrito was the same size as my daughter's regular burrito-that was the biggest complaint. Stopped by La Flor De Jalisco today for lunch. Grabbed a few tacos to share with my brothers. The food was very good. Meat was seasoned to perfection and was very flavorful. The strawberry agua fresca was pretty good. A nice change from ordering Jamaica or horchata LOL. The tacos are $3.60 for one. So what came here last year for lunch because it was close to the location I was working at. I ordered the lengua tacos as usual. Off top I noticed the flavor was different I don't recall it tasting like just bay leaf. So they were on, the portions are good. My tortillas were soggy due to the juice of the meat. The service was ok till the lady tried to charge me for lemon and salsas,saying it cost extra for extra salsas. Told her I never received any then she rudely tossed them in my Togo bag. I've been living in Richmond since 2005 and have been coming to this spot on and off since 2007. I remember when it was just a mobile food truck next to the grocery store before the remodel. They used to have the best tacos and tortas in town for many years. However, over the past five years, I've noticed a change in the quality. The steak is consistently over-salted and lacks flavor, and the sauces could definitely use more depth. Hadn't been here in years so I decided to give it another try for their well known tacos! Coming in as a pickup order I went straight to the window and was served immediately by one of the workers who greeted me and asked me to repeat my order to make sure it was mine. It wasn't such amazing service but it's understandable since I had done a pickup order instead of ordering on site. In terms of ambiance, it's a pretty cozy spot located near a busy street with semi limited parking depending on time of day but still very calm. Now for the food, I was honestly surprised. I had heard mixed reviews about them recently saying their food isn't the same quality as It used to be but in my opinion the tacos were still very good. I had ordered 4 tacos de asada with everything and I Ate them very quickly with my only complaint being how some pieces of meat had a lot of fat and nerve attached to them which made me have to take some pieces of meat off but other than that they were good. My first time here. Came here in the late night after a night in the city. Line was real long and so was the wait for my food. I was excited cause usually a long line means food is great. When I got home it looked good but my burrito was mad salty. Like really salty. Really hard to enjoy. Also they only gave me one salsa for a super burrito and no carrots or jalapeños, I was bothered by that cause I love a lil spice from the carrots and the jalapeños. Place is small but clean and has small parking on side but parking on street. It had tripas my happy spot - tacos average price but loaded the meat. I have been coming here for years as I grew up in the area. I came today and feels that nothing has changed other than obviously the prices hahaha, inflation. My go to are the chicken tacos and chicken torta, never disappoint. They have two locations, I prefer the 2049 location on Macdonald ave because I feel that is safer, there are less people, and the service is always friendly. They worked very quick and got my food under 5-10 minutes. I would recommend coming here, specifically the second location! read more

This place has good food, used to eat here as a teen, moved further away, and now frequent them again. I like that they open early but today (Saturday.. I came early after work) sat and waited since they "open" at 830am. I seen their employees walk in at 8am so I'm here now at 845 about to leave after multiple calls and no answer as well as a knock on their door. Been coming here for years but I think this will be my last. They went from memorable to forgettable. Also the customer service has gotten really bad. The new lady working the register is rude, tries to rush you (when there's no line) and I've seen her sigh when people ask questions. Definitely would recommend the burritos over the tacos.
