Spicy chicken

Such a great wholesome spot to grab lunch! We stopped here to grab a quick lunch on our road trip. We got the falafel, spicy chicken, and green juice! Prices were reasonable and green juice was amazing! I loved how they used fresh herbs, you can tell their food is high quality. Unfortunately the spicy chicken did not taste spicy to me! I think maybe a spicy sauce on the side would be awesome. I recommended this place and would come again!

FAVA is an amazing lunch spot located in Berkeley's Northside! They're open 11am-3pm (Tues-Sat) and operate off a window where you order. The have a few small tables outside where customers can sit but it's definitely more of a grab & go place in my opinion. I've tried their falafel sandwich which was delicious! Loved the combination of fresh herbs (mint, dill, parsley, + more) and delicious falafels. Service was pretty fast when I went at noon on a Friday, but I heard that you can also order online to skip the wait completely. I'd love to come back and try more items from this charming lunch spot!

Had Fava to go. Someone else picked it up so I didn't get to experience the vibe or anything but the food came in a quality to-go container. Opened up my braised lamb sandwich and was met with a bounty of herbs. Wasn't expecting that but was actually pleasantly surprised, as I love herbs. Very fragrant. Took a bite and it was very flavorful. However, I did have a bit of difficulty discerning the lamb in the sandwich. Actually had to dig through the herbs to find it. While flavorful, I do wish the portion of meat was a big more to balance the wrap and all the herbs as I felt like it was disproportionate.

There is something beautiful about seeing a crowd gather on a narrow Berkeley sidewalk just to eat food from a window. That's the magic of Fava. It's been my favorite lunch spot since 2020 because they do things the right way--focusing on seasonal ingredients, supporting local farmers, and caring deeply about their community and the world at large. The vibe is quintessentially Berkeley: vibrant, communal, and delicious. If the line looks confusing, just ask someone where it starts; everyone is friendly because we all know the reward is worth it. If you have a chance, sit at their orange sidewalk tables to truly soak in the best of Berkeley. Don't miss on out on trying FAVA!

I've bee I've been here twice in the last three days for lunch because once I had it, I couldn't stop thinking about it! This is seriously one of the freshest and most delicious spots in Berkeley. I'm a total falafel fanatic, and this is honestly some of the best I've had. I highly recommend the falafel pita sandwich--it's packed with herbs and flavor, and the pita itself is to die for. I've also had the lentil soup, which was amazing. Don't skip the mango lassi--I get it every time because it's so yummy. The food always comes out super fast, too! Only thing to note is that it's probably not ideal for big groups since the seating is pretty limited (just a few tables outside).

Our favorite lunch spot in Berkeley and we come over and over and over. It feels like you are in a European country, eating the best food. The food is superb, fresh and high quality ingredients, great service. I would come everyday, if I could. It's a true gem. This is a business I feel great supporting.

This place is so cute! Fava you stole my heart and your falafel sandwich stole the show! Located on Vine Street in Berkeley, Fava is a vibrant hole in the wall and hidden gem to this area. There is what seems to be a new(er) cupcake shop next door and a spot called the Filling Station to refill your own bottles of personal and household products. With limited hours (Tuesday-Saturday) from 11a-3p, Fava serves amazingly fresh "lunch from a window" with some outdoor seating if you can't wait to indulge. Two former Chez Panisse chefs started Fava and quite honestly, we're so happy they did! Handmade flatbreads, incredibly fresh ingredients with protein choices including steelhead, braised lamb, spicy chicken, and falafel. Also on the menu you can find fresh soups and sides, juices, and my personal favorite, Tahini chocolate chip cookies. To note, you can preorder your lunch ahead online for the next day if you want to just grab & go without waiting in line. It was such a seamless process and honestly quite the vibe picking up! As soon as they opened their doors, funky music was illuminated the street and I could literally have hung out there for a while listening to the tunes and enjoying the ambiance. Great service, clean food, can't wait to come back!

Delicious food! I just wish the hours were better. Parking can be tough in that area and not a broad menu but great flavors.

2 Oct 2025 2:30 ish PM 3.1 stars…read more Been wanting a Cobb salad. I love those things. Wife and I decided to take a 21 mile drive to a spot we think specializes in salads. Tender Greens. As expected, finding parking is a beotch in Berkeley. Metered parking a block and a half away was found. A dollar for each 16 minutes if I remember correctly. I'm a boomer that doesn't like restaurants that have loud noise, disorganization, unruly todlers or uncleanliness. I expect to be treated as if I was invited over to have lunch with a mature friend. The cashier where you order and pay at the same time is counterintuitively at the back of the place. Customers walk in the front door and need to ask a cook at the front who tells you to head down towards the back door to place an order. Management: An "ORDER" sign with an arrow easily visible at entrance pointing to the cashier might fix this. That sign you currently have 11' high towards the back is easily missed. The staff at Tender Greens seemed professional. Maybe aside for the employees that wear their uniform hats backwards. The restaurant was kept clean and the tables bussed. Pleasant tunes like from The Foo Fighters and Hall and Oats had me bopping my head. If this was a tap room I could have spent hours here. I got my Cobb (and took my Yelp pictures) and my wife had a grilled salmon plate. I'll focus on the Cobb salad. I've been enjoying these salads for years. They come with a portion of blue cheese, a portion of dressing, a portion of chicken yada yada all arranged next to but not in each other. You get the salad plate and enjoy the look of the individual items, and then you mix or not at will. It's fun. Want to skip the avocado? Do it. Share a clean tomato? Share away. Skimp on the dressing or don't use it at all? You're in charge. Go for it! At Tender Greens, their salad comes tossed for you without your asking.. Sauce is on everything. If you are hoping to eat a bit of blue cheese or anything by itself, that is not happening. Most salad items are disguised in sauce\dressing to the point that you have to put food bits in your mouth and suck off the dressing before you chew to figure out what you have. Also you have no idea with this tossing how much of each salad componate you paid for. I haven't seen a tossing on a Cobb like this (until today) for fifty years and I hope never to see it for fifty more. Side note on this salad. Those bacon bites ( too large to call bits) are delicious. Just like my Father's home made bacon, though you could chip a tooth on these.. So the $16.95 salad tasts fine and I'm 3\4 through and getting full and Damned if i don't find a four inch brown hair on my plate. I'm bald and my wife's hair is overly highlighted blond so its not ours. This has never happened to me before to my knowledge. Unless I've unwittingly eaten someone else's hair. The filthy thing must have been hidden under the salad as it didn't show in the pics taken upon salad arrival. I was so disappointed and sick down in the pit of my stomach that I didn't have the presence of mind to take a picture. You know or can imagine the feeling of filth touching your food right? Management. This food debacle can be easily fixed. Most of your male employees have facial hair and nobody wears hair nets. 1) Hair nets for all. 2) Facial masks for whiskers. Use it (mask) or lose it (shave). I received a second salad with an apology for the first. The second salad had visibly more blue cheese and avocado. That was nice. Management. Portion control? I might come back for the second salad but not the first. So it's unlikely we will be back.

It is very clear that something is wrong with Everytable's systems. Furthermore, it seems very obvious to me that the support responses I receive are AI generated. While I receive refunds, there is clearly no human element understanding how to escalate issues or actually solve problems. Well this is the future of AI services, folks. Lower prices by eliminating human employees, then provide garbage services that don't work and fake support that does the absolute bare minimum of refunding charges after complete failures. There is no one behind the curtain to understand when an issue has reached the point of unreasonable failure; they don't care about ruining their reputation with customers for a lifetime because there is no one there to care. I will never trust Everytable or use its online services again in the future. Cancelling my subscription and forever filing this company in the "trash" folder

I opted for carrots and they were strips of carrot, not shredded which was also very wierd on a sandwich. Sadly, not even the chocolate chip cookie was good - it was undercooked and overly sugary and not in a good way. I do want to highlight that the service was kind, the bread was decent, but overall, this first impression with a rotten salad and a meh turkey sandwich, left me as not a fan. Both are great, but I like Poke Bar more as I feel you get more protein and food for the price, super fresh fish (cut smaller than Wow, but feels like I am getting more, plus I have the option of asking for tofu as an option!). I love all of the add-ins (fried garlic goes great with fish and is so good without being too overpowering, far less overpowering than fried onions), the sauces are great, I like being able to have brown rice without being charged extra (ahem, Wow Lemonade ;) ), the seaweed salad is delicious and the food was so good that right after I took the first bite I made an audible sound and rolled my eyes it was so good. I had to be chill about it, but dang, Poke Bar rocks! I also like that it is a tiny bit more affordable, and you get more food for the price. So much food that I wasn't able to finish my medium-sized bowl. Only detractor is that I wish their krab was krab salad and not just krab. And I wish that as far as two sides go, that I could get two sides of krab and just mix in one of their sauces and some wasabi and make my own krab salad. Only negative about the place is that they don't offer bags with handles, just regular brown smaller grocery bags. So, if they stepped it up a notch and had branded bags I think that would help to promote their business more since they are located in a somewhat out-of-the-way spot. Definitely come and check this place out. Super fast service, okay seating, great, great, GREAT fresh fish, and such an umami flavor. Tip: get a mix of white and brown rice to make it a tad bit healthier and get some more fiber (if you don't want to go fully salad style and get greens.
