I first discovered this place a few months back and have since then become a regular. While the food is great, what has kept me coming back has actually been the staff and their quality of service that has kept me coming back for more. Raul, their store manager has always been extremely friendly while also setting a high standard of generosity with the food portions. As a local resident who has come to this location about a dozen times, I've seen this standard of service be upheld by all staff members reliably across different times and days of the week, which is what has largely created such a consistently welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Portions are also large, a regular size bowl usually is two meals for me. Service is quick and easy, as both locations are available through snackpass which makes ordering a breeze. For anyone who hasn't had it before, poutine is one of Canada's greatest comfort food inventions: crispy fries, rich gravy, and cheese curds. The curds are the secret weapon--those little nuggets of fresh cheese that soften in the heat but still keep a slight bounce. That texture is what makes real poutine different from just fries with melted cheese. I ordered the chicken poutine with gravy and garlic sauce, medium spice, and sized up from the regular portion. When it arrived through DoorDash, I was shocked--it came in two large boxes. This was easily enough food for four people. I actually bought it just for myself but ended up sharing it with coworkers because there was no way I was finishing all that alone. Flavor-wise, it was really good. The spice level was perfect and the sauces were surprisingly unique. The garlic sauce with the gravy gave it a really interesting twist. It's definitely more of a fusion style poutine, leaning a little Mediterranean with the flavors, which actually worked really well. There are so many hole-in-the-wall hidden gems on Telegraph Ave, My-O-My being one of them. Yes, I know this street driving-wise can be incredibly hectic BUT there is a parking garage in walking distance (The Telegraph Channing Garage), and the first hour is free :) While in the area we noticed a couple new spots had entered the scene, and also a few that are still in construction including a coffee and hand-pulled noodle spot. My-O-My being one of those 'new' to the scene spots...I mean the name alone, we had to go in to check it out. They don't have high chairs, but that didn't stop us after we learned the Tuesday special of the day was Chicken Poutine. Immediately we also learned that this is a Canadian-inspired Mediterranean spot. How cool! So, of course we had to do the freshly shaved chicken poutine. So comforting on a cold day. Gravy, cheese, fries, protein. How can one go wrong? And the portions, massive! The hubby ordered a wrap and I ordered a bowl. Essentially you can pick how you would like your protein ~ over salad, rice, in a wrap, or with fries. We took the bowl to-go because we had plenty of food in front of us already (yay for leftovers later!). All in all, the halal meats were delicious. Flavorful, juicy, and topped with their house sauces...SO good. The staff also came by to give our kiddo a small scoop of his own fries to dip in ketchup, while us adults enjoyed the poutine. A steady-flow of patrons came in while we were there which was nice to see. I had this bookmarked for the longest time when they only had one store in Albany. I finally got to check out their new location while I was in Berkeley! Platters are huge, super filling, and sooo flavorful!!! My bf got his with fries and he loves it! He said it might be better than halal guys?! Ugh, we love halal guys. It's definitely less greasy and not as heavy as halal guys too. The fries were also very seasoned. I got mine with rice and the rice was so fluffy and not dry at all. They really pack it with lots of meat and you can choose the spice level. Each platter comes with salad on the side and the salad is also very generously portioned. They have bowls, wraps, platters, poutine, and salads. Their bowls I assume are much smaller than the platters because they cost a little less. Our platters were $18 before tax and the bowls are between $10-$14, depending on the size you get. Overall, this is a new spot we will definitely be coming back to! read more

Also, I wish there was more gravy and crispier fries. The garlic sauce was delicious though. I should've just had the sauce mixed in since everything was so dry. Their chicken shawarma wraps are my favorite. The chicken is well seasoned and their wrap includes a lot of other toppings such as onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and more. They also top it off with a generous amount of garlic sauce and hot sauce at a spice level of your choice. Their bowls are great too. Might be my favorite place to grab lunch near campus. Got the chicken shawarma wrap with the works (all toppings) with garlic sauce and hot sauce at less than medium spiciness level. Still quite a kick! Food came fast and was delivered to my table. Friend got the same with no spice but said there were too many jalapeños, though liked the variety of toppings. Other friend got the chicken poutine (small size) which I took a bite out of and it was so yummy too. Gooey block of cheese and perfectly spiced chicken just melted in my mouth. He said it was very filling. Third friend got the chicken on the rocks regular size which was still a big portion for him (and he's a guy) so he saved half for dinner. Very solid spot! Was hungry for something unique to Berkeley and I've never heard of My-o-my. It was the first thing with decent reviews that came up on yelp. I ordered the mixed platter which came out to around $22 and some change before tip. Not bad for the price especially considering how good the food was. The Greek salad I ordered had great flavors after I picked out about 80% of the onions. I don't mind onion, but the first fork full I went in for came out with just onions so instantly I knew there was too much for my liking. After picking out the onion the salad itself was good, great flavor and balance of dressing, feta cheese, cucumber and olives. The half and half plate I ordered came with rice. I was not expecting such flavorful rice, it wasn't a basmati rice, maybe like a curried rice due to the color but whatever it was it was perfect for the dish and flavors one might hope for with this kind of food. The beef and chicken were pretty standard nothing wrong but also nothing that knocked my socks off. I got the spice level right below medium and quite frankly, 10 different spice levels is probably too many to choose from especially for someplace new. The spice level was nothing the food was cooked or marinated in, it was simply the amount of red sauce squeezed over the top. I can see this spice level being different solely based on who may be squeezing the bottles, how thick the lines, or how many lines. Again, 10 varying spice levels is probably too many to choose from especially if it's only going to be squeezed over. My suggestion would be to just ask for it on the side and add to your desired spice level. I'm not huge on spice, (hence the level right below medium), but I also don't hate spice and can tolerate enough. Towards the end of my meal the spice level remained but it wasn't uncomfortable, just not what I wanted for my meal. Flavors were there and the meal still is 5 stars because really there wasn't anything wrong. The ladies there were kind but don't expect a warm welcoming, they are simply there to operate the business and not chop it up with you. My first time here, I ordered a beef wrap and wasn't very satisfied. The beef didn't really suit the wrap in either flavor or texture, and it just didn't come together for me. On my second visit, I tried the beef poutine. The beef actually works really well with the fries, and overall it's a pretty comforting meal. That said, I'm not really a fan of the poutine itself. I ordered it with cheddar cheese, but I wouldn't really call it cheddar -- it's more of a processed-style cheese. The gravy also reminds me of something you'd get out of a can. Even with those complaints, it wouldn't stop me from coming back and trying something else. I think the beef shines more when paired with fries, so next time I'd probably get the beef on sticks with garlic sauce, or one of the rice plates instead. The food is a bit pricey for what you get, and I don't really think it's worth the cost, but it is still pretty good. Portions are larger than you might need unless you're planning on leftovers. Perfect late night place to go after a Mitski concert at the greek since My-O-My iykyk it seemed to be a local student fav with some dine-in seating outside and inside! Friend and I weren't too hungry so just ordered a chicken wrap combo with some fries and a drink to split! Came late night on a Saturday, so pretty busy with the munchies rush. Looked like a fresh batch of chicken was being cooked on the griddle as we came in, but nothing on the spit. Line went fast, but waited around 12 minutes for the food. About 5 tables on the inside & a couple outdoors so be prepared to take it to-go. They do have a restroom if need a pitstop after a night of drinks. Chicken Half Half & Beef on the Sticks (Large) Fries were freshly made & had a decent, curly-fry like seasoning to them. But by the time everything was assembled, they weren't super crispy. The golden rice also had a decent base flavoring as expected, but also wasn't all that fresh & fluffy. Half & half is probably what I'd get again, since the texture difference gave it a nice change up that would of been lacking otherwise. The proteins were good & well seasoned, but again, a bit colder than to be desired. That said, both the chicken & beef had their own distinct flavors & didn't just taste the same like at some other donair places. The white sauce had a garlicky tinge & the red sauce (spicy) was pretty solid. But there definitely wasn't enough, & there was a charge for extra. Couple other things: got a glance at some of the wraps as they were being made & panini pressed, looked pretty sizeable! Might opt for that if I make it back there. Like most of the places around campus, there's plenty of app orders & deals out there if you're into that. Came here a couple of days ago, came to pick up food for my girlfriend. Who placed an order through Snack Pass, and since my girlfriend wanted to stop by a different store before they closed, I decided to pick up the food for her. I came up to the counter asking for my girlfriend's order by name, and was told that I would need the number for the order. He was really aggrieved and seemed annoyed when he told me that, but I didn't really mind it, because I also work at fast food. And noticed he was the only one on the line and at the register, while already working on a few orders. So I already knew the stress he was in and just let it slide. No problem, called my girlfriend to ask for the number. Got the number and gave it to the person that was working behind the counter. My girlfriend came in a few minutes later, got the food, sat down, and ate with me with my own food I bought earlier. A few hours later, I was a bit hungry so I decided to place an order for some small fries with chicken, garlic sauce, less than mild. Walked in when Snack Pass notified me saying my food was ready. Walked in, saw the same person (mustache and curly hair) from earlier, gave him my order number, and HE handed me the box of fries (for preference, this is my first time ordering fries from this place and didn't know the portion sizing). Got my food, at first glance it looked like what I ordered, and tasted like what I ordered. Sat down with my friends to eat my fries, and a few minutes later all I hear is "DID YOU PAY FOR THAT!? DID YOU PAY?". Turned around to see the guy a few feet away from pointing at me repeating the same question. I was confused and said "yeah this is what I ordered" was looking for the email receipt. While being still being yelled at "you stole that guy's order" Pointing at a customer who was waiting at the restaurant, who I noticed when I first walked in the restaurant; walked back behind the counter pissed off. And gave the customer some extra food for his mistake and just stared at me. After that, I lost my appetite and got up with my friends and left the restaurant. I didn't have the chance to show him my recipe to clear the air nor an apology for him yelling and pointing his finger at me, accusing me of stealing food. Great food! It tastes pretty good, but I had a bad experience with one of the employees. I won't be thinking about coming back here soon. Considering it's Berkeley, I can find better alternatives to help with my cravings and where I won't get yelled at and be accused of stealing because of someone's mistake. read more

I truly appreciate My-O-My. I live nowhere near there but the taste and portions keep me coming back. I order the mixed platter half rice half fries and it comes with a sizeable salad in a separate container. Its perfect for 2 people. For $20 I consistently feel happy with what I get. I would go so far as to say its the best bang for your buck in Berkley. I never got skimpy or small portions the food and flavor(home cooked taste) is consistent irrespective of the different people ive seen Prepare it. They take your order and then call your name when it's ready. Unfortunately, just have a very common name and someone happened to be there with my same name. That was a little shaffu we had to work out. The employee wasn't super helpful. We were able to grab a table when our orders were called. I was really looking forward to this but unfortunately it just wasn't it for me. The gravy was really thin, and soaked into the fries making them soggy.
