Chicken Tikka Kabob Wrap
Mika L.

My friend and I came here during a time in which it didn't seem busy, around 1 pm. The service was quick. I ordered the chicken tikka fries and my friend ordered the chicken tikka wrap. The food came out fairly quickly, but still after these two people who ordered after us. I thought that was... interesting. We had ordered our food for to-go because we were going to take our leftovers home after. When I came back to get a second fork, the man who took our order reiterated that he thought it was to-go. Interesting. I mean, I get why he would say something if it were busy, but it was only us two and the other two people (who left a mess compared to us). The shop in itself is standard, pretty clean. Well, the portion was pretty okay. For 13 bucks, I got enough fries, but definitely could've done for more of the chicken tikka on them (the photo doesn't show how there's a small mountain of fries that remain untouched by any of the cheese or tikka). The ratio of chicken tikka/cheese to fries was definitely off. They were, as a whole, also a little too dry. The sauces they include on the side are a tamarind and yogurt/cilantro/something green type of sauce that didn't really compliment anything. My friend enjoyed her wrap, but she agreed that the fries could've done with more sauce. The seasonings were all good. Honestly, the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't reaching it's full potential. The service kind of confused me as well. It's a pretty okay spot. Nothing special. If I were to come back I would probably get a wrap and leave INSTANTLY.

Chicken boti roll & fries

Where to begin - this place is such a great bang for your buck! The owners are typically there and always very friendly and hospitable - looking to help and ensure you're satisfied with your meal. I've been here a few times for the chicken boti roll and it's consistently been fresh and hot when ready. The chicken boti roll isn't too spicy at all while managing to have a bold and flavorful taste. (Spice level is adjustable too!) Love coming here!!

Mango Lassi

This place just opened on Telegraph, and my friends and I were dying to try it. When you walk in, the menu is on the board, broken down into their breakfast, wraps, rolls, platters, and specialties. They have a small space for indoor seating, and you can see them cooking in the back. The customer service is amazing here! They immediately started explaining their menu and took the time to do the same for everyone else who walked in behind us. They explained that the wraps are tortillas like a burrito, the rolls are a more buttery, flaky wrap, and the platters come with a side of rice and salad. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Wrap and my friend ordered the Paneer Wrap, both freshly made to order! The chicken was perfectly spiced, and the wrap came with cucumbers, lettuce, and a yogurt + tamarind sauce. While the the wrap is bigger than the roll, I definitely want to come back to try that next time. The owners constantly came to check up on us to make sure the food was up to our standards. They even gave us a free sample of their Mango Lassi at the end :) Their grand opening is on Saturday, so you should definitely come check it out!

Such a delicious halal paratha roll place! The food was so good, chicken perfectly spiced and fresh, the paratha was flaky and delicious. The spiced fries were also great! The price was super affordable and the people working are so kind! I'll be coming back often!

Amazing!!! Get their paratha ROLLS. Their parathas are soft and flaky and make the perfect wrap for their rolls. The owner is so sweet, he gave us masala fries to try for free and chatted with us about the menu and what new products they're going to come out with. I got their tofu tikka wrap (which is wrapped in a tortilla rather than a paratha) and it wasn't as good, highly recommend the rolls!! Chicken tikka in particular was a love amongst my family. Great place!

Garlic masala fries

Stopped by yesterday after seeing a sign about a paratha roll and I'm so glad we did! Perfect for a quick stop. Food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the chicken tikka masala paratha roll. The paratha was crispy, light and airy. The chicken was so tender! The salad inside was crunchy and added the perfect texture to the meal. We also enjoyed the desi breakfast egg roll.. omg. Delicious. As our sides we had garlic + masala fries which were pretty good & a mango lassi that was amazing and refreshing. Loved the service, convenience and flavors. We will def be back. Halal friendly

The worst Tikka masala wrap I've ever had

I LOVED IT!!! So first of all, I ordered a burrito (since it's my review the kids' orderes' don't matter) this burrito was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth and I've put a lot in there. The meat was so tender and tasteful and tubular and tummy exciting I have to know the recipe for my future grandkids . Second of all the service was divine and the server was cute and polite might I add. Third of all, I just loved the overall expierence and I definitely will be coming back. You order at the window - we got one veggie burrito with pretty much all the toppings and it was ready within 10-15 minutes. Good amount of outdoor seating available Veggie Burrito (4/5): Generous portion size! I was stuffed after eating just a half. The sauces on the side gave the burrito a nice kick. That said, I would skip the nacho cheese next time as I felt like it overpowered the other flavors. More pico de gallo and sour cream would help make the burrito taste more fresh. We got normal rice so the burrito tasted more Mexican rather than Afghan Overall, the burrito was solid. I would come back and instead, either get it Afghan style with no nacho cheese or try the crunchwrap

The restaurant is fairly small with probably about a half a dozen tables, etc. The owner was very polite, and thankfully very patient with us for a friends lunch. We originally had plans for another restaurant, but this location, etc. worked out. Everyone spent quite a bit of time catching up, and we were made to feel at home. I ordered a side of fries for a shareable at the table. I found the fries to be very underwhelming and needed more seasoning and considering that it's seven dollars for a side of fries the serving was pretty mediocre. I ordered the lamb/beef gyro plate. The side salad was very fresh and had a light vinaigrette dressing. I would have liked for the dressing to be more of an actual vinaigrette flavor. The rice was light and fluffy, but again, lacked seasoning/flavor. The side of yogurt sauce, was tasty, but did not hit the spot. Why? Because it really lacked the flavors. Notice a theme? I will say, the meat was tender, and it had a really nice flavor to it. It was delicious enough that it was very difficult to differentiate between a lamb flavor versus a beef flavor. It all tasted good together. The soft drinks are rather pricey. It was around $3.50 for a bottled Coke. Yikes! When we were done with our meal, we were served complementary hot tea. It was a nice touch.

The guy behind the counter was super friendly and offered us a sample of one of the flavors to try which I thought was a nice gesture. Everything looked so good, so we picked a couple different pieces of Turkish delight to try. To my surprise, my favorite ended up being the saffron, though rose petal with pomegranate and sour cherry with pastachio were close seconds. I didn't like the coconut or the chocolate one that much, so reminder to myself to skip those next time. After picking up the dessert, I did a quick circle around the store to see what they had. The market itself is a treasure trove: shelves filled with Middle Eastern dry goods, nuts, dried fruits, spices, blends, and condiments you can't find anywhere else. Kofta, shish kebab, falafel, sumac, garam masala -- it's all here. They also carry pita, lavash, labna, and other breads and yogurts that make cooking from scratch feel like heaven. Bonus points for the large assortments of delicious house made baklavas! Even without a full kitchen, the prepared foods are excellent. Nothing crazy. But then my daughter noticed that the chicken in her Fattoush salad was a bit raw in the middle. She cut open all the pieces she still had on her plate, and a couple were the same. We called the server over and informed her that the chicken was undercooked. She took the salad to the kitchen to fix the problem. A couple of minutes later, she came back with her salad and said her chicken would be done in a bit. I think we were in shock. Never in my 57 years of life/30 years in the food industry have I ever seen a restaurant take the food off a plate that had bites taken out of it, salad that had been halfway consumed, PUT THE CHICKEN BACK ON THE GRILL, AND RE-SERVED THE SALAD TO THE CUSTOMER. We didn't quite know what to do. When she came back with the recooked chicken, we knew it was the same pieces because they were all cut in half as before. In hindsight, should we have called over the manager? Probably. He probably would have had the salad redone, which would have taken more time than we had. Did it take away the fact that they recooked half-eaten chicken on the grill and re-served the same salad? No. This is clearly a major health code violation. Then, when they cleared our plates, the server said to us, "You didn't want dessert, did you?" That was the icing on the un-ordered cake for us. So disappointing. Food was pretty tasteless, and service was... very odd. I think we're done with Zaytoon.
