Chicken Haleem, Chicken Malai Boti, Plain Paratha

Haleem is like Karachi. I could live off of it. Chicken Malai Boti is SO juicy & flavorful. Would 100% recommend.

Best Pakistani food in Berkeley! This place has been around for years, and I am impressed at how consistent they keep the quality of their food. Being Pakistani myself, I am a tough critic of Pakistani restaurants and I have tried several in this part of the Bay Area. Kabana is definitely at the top when it comes to authentic Pakistani food. Now on to the food! This was my first time ever ordering the Plain Paratha, as it's very hard to nail a paratha, especially if you're like me and used to amazing street food parathas from Pakistan. I'll just say I'm so glad my dad convinced me to order and try it! It was unbelievably delicious and tasted authentic, so flaky, buttery on the inside and crisp on the outside, I was in high calorie heaven. It tastes great with chai or with a Chicken Karahi. The plain paratha is a must order when you go, you won't be disappointed! I also tried their mango lassi which was delicious, just wish it was colder. I'm a pescatarian so I ordered the Paneer Tikka masala instead of the chicken, and it was made very well. It tasted delicious with the fluffy garlic naan and dipping the paratha in that sweet sauce tastes so yummy! I do love spice so I think the tikka masala would taste amazing if it was a tad bit spicy with less cream, that would make it 5 star dish. My family and I love this place have been coming here for more than a decade. FYI if you're a goat fan order the Goat Palao (a goat bone broth infused rice dish with goat pieces), my parents couldn't stop raving about it. It's the only place they will eat when visiting Berkeley!

I ordered two veggie biryani's and palak gosht. I have tried tikka masala at Kabana as well. I love the spinach They have lunch specials as well during weekdays. I was a regular at indus village for years. They closed, unfortunately. Kabana is good quality.

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** This is exactly the type of Indian spot I would've never noticed had there not been a pandemic because it's on that congested part of University close to San Pablo where drivers are racing to get onto the freeway. I'm sure this place was a blur until I noticed it on the Grubhub app for delivery. I couldn't help but notice the reasonable prices, presumably targeted to cash-strapped UC Berkeley students, which of course, made me wonder how good it could possibly be. To my amazement, the food turned out to be pretty tasty and filling. For my dinner with Jamie W., I went for my go-to, the $8.99 Tandoori Chicken Legs which was actually an ample amount of moist dark meat (an extra thigh was thrown in for good measure) nicely charred and ready to devour (photo: https://bit.ly/3rXNx1z) - even though they included a side of raw red onions and cucumber slices for presumably a garnish in the dinner plate I never took out of the cupboard (photo: https://bit.ly/3bRVYGc). For Jamie, we ordered the $7.99 Chicken Curry. It was a hefty portion in a plastic container which we poured over some cauliflower rice we microwaved (photo: https://bit.ly/3bWcHIy). Perhaps a tad oily but still awfully tasty. I guess we needed a vegetable side dish, so I settled on the $7.99 Aloo Ghobi, which was a thick mix of cauliflowers and potato chunks that was not quite the greenery we probably should have had. But what the hell, we was hungry and it stuck to our ribs (photo: https://bit.ly/38O4Tqg). So now we can glance toward Kabana as we pass by on University and realize there are bargain-priced, satisfying eats. FOOD - 4 stars...tasty homestyle eats AMBIANCE - n/a...just a delivery experience SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty fast and ample portions TOTAL - 4 stars...Indian food for a healthy appetite RELATED - Looking for Indian food? Combined, it means "Lord of the Stars" Near the corner of MLK and Shattuck Ave- across from Trader Joe's is this nice little vegetarian Indian restaurant. A recommendation from a client I had today directed me here before my trip home over the San Rafael Richmond Bridge. I found a parking spot right around the corner. One space from the corner is Udupi Palace and the Corner space is a Turkish restaurant that once was a breakfast spot that I used to frequent back in 1984. A memory jolt from times long ago when I worked for a minute across the street at a modern furniture store-"The Apartment Store." Chrome, glass, and marble home furnishings that took several months to deliver and required a 50% deposit. A strange business model indeed! To my delight, my meal came much quicker. A nice portion for my curry entrée which came complete with rice, Poori: Deep-fried, puffed whole wheat bread, and I believe a piece of Papadum: a thin, crisp wafer made from lentil flour. VEGETABLE KORMA: Fresh vegetables cooked with cream and mild spices.(Served with rice, poori or chapati pickle, raita and papad.) $15.95 Friendly service as well and I was offered extra rice, complementary.

Neither my wife nor I will be coming back to Noor…read more Today was our second time visiting Noor after having dined in several months ago, and we remembered enjoying the food. We arrived around opening (4:00 PM) today, August 29, 2026. Our server failed to mention that the crab samosa was unavailable until after we ordered it. The person who poured and delivered our drinks wrongly gave each of us the other person's drink. My wife was then mortified to discover two unmistakable drops of blood on her glass, and after reporting it to the waitstaff, she was gaslit by being told that they were instead wine. We ordered four dishes total. They delivered three of them correctly and a fourth dish that we hadn't ordered. We immediately informed our server of the issue, but they repeated the name of the dish and left. We called them over again to clarify if this was the dish that we had ordered, as it looked nothing like what the menu described. She said that she made a mistake because both dishes started with the same word. We then told her that we didn't want the wrong item nor did we want to wait for the missing item. Instead, the server left us with the wrong item and then delivered the missing item a few minutes later and charged us for it. In short, the food is good, but the staff at Noor are inattentive and irresponsible.
