Neither my wife nor I will be coming back to Noor. Today was our second time visiting Noor after having dined in several months ago, and we remembered enjoying the food. We arrived around opening (4:00 PM) today, August 29, 2026. Our server failed to mention that the crab samosa was unavailable until after we ordered it. The person who poured and delivered our drinks wrongly gave each of us the other person's drink. My wife was then mortified to discover two unmistakable drops of blood on her glass, and after reporting it to the waitstaff, she was gaslit by being told that they were instead wine. We ordered four dishes total. They delivered three of them correctly and a fourth dish that we hadn't ordered. We immediately informed our server of the issue, but they repeated the name of the dish and left. We called them over again to clarify if this was the dish that we had ordered, as it looked nothing like what the menu described. She said that she made a mistake because both dishes started with the same word. We then told her that we didn't want the wrong item nor did we want to wait for the missing item. Instead, the server left us with the wrong item and then delivered the missing item a few minutes later and charged us for it. The host welcomed us and checked the reservation time and said you want to wait or you're ok to be seated at the available table and we went ahead with that. Me and my husband both were seated and the menu was given along with water, poured in each of our glasses. Since I was driving I went for rose lassi and my husband went for a beer. My friends and I ate at Noor to celebrate the beginning of the semester, and we were blown away. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a warm and inviting energy. The people working there are very friendly and sweet. We were seating immediately and ordered the winter persimmon salad, aloo gobhi, butter chicken, garlic naan, golden rice, muglai chicken changezi, and baigan bharta. DOORDASH REVIEW: I don't make it out to Berkeley very often, but thanks to Doordash, I can enjoy Noor's delicious curries at home. Some of their dishes are only available for dine-in (pineapple curry), so I'll have to visit the restaurant sometime. Their curries are a bit creamier than most, and not as oily. I've never been disappointed by anything I've tried. What we got: + Lamb vindaloo - the lamb is so tender it falls apart. The potatoes soak up the flavorful curry, which has just a mild hint of heat. + Paneer Palak - spinach with cheese. They don't skimp on the cheese. Very yummy. + Butter chicken - flavorful, creamy, and good with tender cubes of chicken. + Chicken Tikka Masala - delicious with tender strips of chicken. + Naan - I really like their naan. It's soft and fresh with just the right amount of chew/stretch. The only minor complaint is the dishes were rather small. We ordered 4 curries for 4 people and we finished it all. I consistently have fantastic experiences with Noor - I have ordered for pickup and have dined in. Parking is available on the street, I have never had any issue finding a spot. I am always able to reach someone by phone if needed. The service is great for both pick up and dine in. For pick up, my food has always packaged well, stays warm and does not spill. Dining in is a must, the interior decor, ambiance and overall vibe is perfect. Most recently we had my daughter's birthday dinner here with a large group. The restaurant was very accommodating and the food was so good (as it always is). While I love all of the dishes I have tried at Noor, my favorites are the pineapple curry (only available for dine in), the butter chicken, methi malai chicken and the chicken biriyani. I particularly love that Noor offers dairy free and/or nut free modifications to our favorite dishes. They also let you select your spice level and make other modifications as needed. You sat down and one of the staff members immediately tried to take the order even before the water was set. That was the only issue we had with our experience. It was our last day of school for the semester at UC Berkeley and we wanted to celebrate over dinner. We found this restaurant after a quick Yelp search. There was plenty of parking available. The wait time was negligible and we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant itself is not very big but beautifully decorated and has a nice vibe. We got hara bhara kebab and veg momos for appetizers. The food came out pretty quickly! The momos came with a sauce. They were flavorful and the portion size was great. The hara bhara kebab tasted a bit bland and the portion size was less. Next, we got the paneer lababdar. The server mentioned that for 3 people, we might need 3 curries, but we decided to order 2 and get more as needed. We also got some garlic naan since the curry didn't come with rice. The entree came out pretty quickly. The paneer in the gravy was soft and the curry was authentic and delicious. The naan was cooked to perfection. We were full with the 2 curries and didn't need another one. We also got the tres leche cake slice. It was topped with pistachios and rose petals and we couldn't wait to dig in. Finally, the right time had arrived (work was paying for dinner and I didn't have much time to grab something), so I called in an order last week. It's a bit pricey, even for Berkeley. The $22.00 Chicken Korma does not come with rice, so I also ordered the Garlic Cheese Naan, which was $7.00 (and more than the online menu suggests). After tax and a modest tip, my takeout dinner for one cost $34.98. I don't love that their suggested tip amounts are 20%, 22%, and 25% - as though 20% is the minimum one should consider - or that the percentages are based on the price after taxes, but at least the receipt says that upfront. The korma was fantastic, and I enjoyed the naan as well. Noor loses a star both because of the high cost and the fact that I was overcharged, but I would definitely return. read more

I like the food. Service is random and, at times, quite questionable. I love Indian food and Noor is one of my favorite Berkeley Indian food destinations. I've never tried an item that I really didn't like. I've ordered from here regularly and I've introduced several friends to this location. That said, the service is incredibly mixed. When I've ordered delivery, the order is often wrong with missing items, and in the restaurant, service is often slow, invisible, or not very knowledgeable/confused. It's taken over 30 minutes for someone to even come and take our order before, follow up is unreliable. Last night, I went with a friend. We dined in the restaurant, had plenty leftovers, and placed an order to go. When I arrived home with the "leftovers", the majority of the food was missing and it did not feel accidental. I didn't check the bag in the restaurant and assumed everything was in order - that was a mistake. They literally put an empty container in the bag with sauce at the bottom of the container (see photo - it was supposed to be tofu tikka masala), they did not include the naan, etc. I'm assuming someone ate it in the kitchen??? I have no idea. I am really disappointed and this feels like it moved beyond random service to straight up sketchy. We made a last-minute dinner reservation for a group of 11 people at Noor Indian Fusion and it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant is nicely decorated with modern & contemporary style decor. There's a a good amount of seating and a bar area, and the restaurant is spacious. I will say the entry way is slightly narrow and cramped, but easy to access/walk through. The menu had a good amount of sharable appetizers and various vegetarian and meat based curries along with sides. The individual who took our order made sure to check in about any allergies and assisted us with ordering different items to ensure we had enough food for the group. Customer service was attentive and friendly, and I think the staff did a great job of ensuring our group was comfortable. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't too busy when we visited on a Monday night. We were going back and forth on choosing sharable dishes and opted to order the pani puri, spicy cauliflower wings, and papadum. The shareable items were small portions, but pretty tasty. I enjoyed trying the pani puri, which was savory and slightly tangy. The spicy cauliflower had a nice spice and a bit of a kick. I was curious about the momos, but didn't get to order them. We also ordered the butter chicken, chicken changezi, rogan josh, dumplings biriyani, and daal makhani. I didn't try every dish, but the dum biryani with lamb had a good flavor and spice. I also really liked the daal makhani with basmati rice. The garlic naan was not very garlicky, but I enjoyed it. The plain and butter naan were pretty good too. Each order of naan has about 4 pieces total. I thought the butter chicken was tasty, but wished I had requested it to be more spicy. We were satisfied with the flavor of each dish, and ordered enough to have leftovers. The pricing for each dish was a little more pricey, such as each Chicken curry dish was $22 and each shareable appetizer was around $12 - 14 each. Each order of naan was around $4-5. Honestly, I'd recommend skipping the shareable options and stick to ordering a few curry entrees. The dessert menu had a good amount of options, but we were too full from our meal, so I would like to try some dessert options next time. In addition, street parking may be limited depending on when you go, but the residential areas may have more parking and it's a quick walk to the restaurant. Another thing to note- currently there's some construction work outside the restaurant, so one of the entrances is closed, but you can go around and enter through a nearby door. Noor Indian and Fusion Kitchen is located near downtown Berkeley, in the not so busy area where parking is plenty. The restaurant has some standard Indian dishes like samosas, butter chicken, and biryani, but it also has chaat such as pani puri, and many Indian desserts (kulfi in different flavors, their interpretation of crème brûlée made with rice pudding, etc.) I liked every dish here. I also tried their chai with the desserts and it was very flavorful... one of the better chai teas I've had in Bay Area. Restaurant was very clean and decor is very modern. I happened to be around the corner and decided to stop in on a whim. It was chilly out so the Masala Chai was perfect to start, served in an adorable vintage-style tea cup. The Panipuri was nice and crispy-- a good sized appetizer. I'd definitely order it again. For the price point, the Lamb Rogan Josh was a bit too salty and didn't really stand out. It's also very heavy on tomato, more so than I've had in the past. (Rice is extra.) The garlic naan was overall good and kept well until the next day when I toasted it with leftovers. I walked in and was greeted right away by the hostess and seated immediately. It was not busy, just a couple of other tables, which made for a calm and relaxed atmosphere. I started with the freshly squeezed lemonade. It was very good and refreshing. I wanted to order the watermelon salad, but they had run out, so I will try it next time. I ordered the Pani Puri, which was delicious, and the Vegetable Biryani. I loved the carrots and the flavor. It was fantastic and tasted freshly made. I also ordered the Butter Chicken with it, and it was the perfect combination with the rice. The Yogurt Raita, Tamarind Chutney, and Cilantro Chutney were all amazing, very balanced, and not too sour. The food took a little time to come out, but I could tell everything was made fresh to order, and I really appreciated that. Our server was a guy at first, but once it started to get busy, he stopped checking in. Then a server named Shrasta took over, and she was very friendly, attentive, and answered all my questions. Came here for dinner on a weekday and had the best time. The inside is super cute and aesthetic with wide windows, great lighting, and cute decor. There was a lot of parking right outside the restaurant as well. Their menu is simple and easy to navigate and the food came out quickly! I really liked the garlic naan and the butter chicken. Noor has my heart!!!! My cousins and I visited Noor for my birthday and it did not disappoint!!! The mango and rose lassi were delicious but my favorite drink had to be their tamarind drink! I definitely think he food at Noor should be eaten family style to get the most out of the experience( and to try more things). Although both the garlic cheese naan and regular garlic naan were amazing, the cheese one was glorious. The chicken biryani and buttered chicken were both amazing and had my family and I fighting over bites! We were perfectly split on which of the two are the best meal, but my favorite was (surprisingly) the buttered chicken! They both had the perfect amount of spice and seasoning:). Even if you aren't a fan of shrimp, the curry in the shrimp curry is divine and deserves a taste. Even though our debate over dessert was long and arduous, I'm glad we settled on the tasty kulfi trio! The rose kulfi was AMAZING!!!! I would order three of those next time, if I could. The pistachio one was also great but none of us really cared for the mango one due to the saffron. Other than the food, the service was also wonderful and I loved the music they played. When we first entered they were playing a Tyler the Creator, Billie Eilish, and Frank Ocean mix which was surprising but pleasant. They definitely changed the music after more people came in but it was still nice and ambient ! Yum. Probably the best butter chicken I've ever had. The mayo lassi was delicious and tangy, thick and not too sweet. The crab samosa were delicious. The panipuri alone will bring me back, but the star of the show was the spiced roasted pineapple curry. The service was excellent. Super cute inside. Can't wait to go again. read more
