Cholle bhature - A metal tray contains two large, golden-brown bhature, deep-fried Indian bread, accompanied by small bowls of curry, chutney, and pickles. The tray is placed on a wooden table, with a person partially visible in the background. The presentation suggests a traditional Indian meal, specifically cholle bhature, with various condiments and side dishes.

Jot Mahal was previously here for a bit and struggled, Chandi Chowk is now in and made the place pretty cute. It seems like most restaurants in this space get overlooked. It smelled delicious when we walked in and that convinced us we need to stay and eat. Some of the chaat was a bit different than other places, so I wouldn't try compare to Viks or other spots. The paneer masala was a bit too thick which was unusual, I think it needs to be thinned out. It tasted more like a very creamy veggie korma, good flavor but texturally not quite right and heavy feeling. Overall we enjoyed what we ate, the service was good, and we will be back to try more food.

Dal and Nan . - The image shows a wooden table with an Indian meal including naan bread in a basket, a bowl of curry with a spoon, and a small bowl of sliced onions. A metal cup and a napkin basket are also on the table. The setting appears to be a restaurant with a warm, wooden interior.

i went for lunch . I ordered Dal , Nan and Chicken tikka masala. Dal was good except for excess salt . The Nan was mediocre. Perhaps they don't have a tandoori oven . The chicken tikka masala was a bad choice . Few pieces of reheated , double cooked meat in slightly sweet. cream sauce . Not my cup of tea .

Wonderful onion pakoda! Not oily, very crisp and piping hot! Loved it! - A serving of onion pakoras, deep-fried and crispy, is presented on a metal tray with two small bowls of green chutney and tamarind sauce. The pakoras are golden brown and irregularly shaped, indicating a homemade or street food style. The presentation is on a wooden table, suggesting a casual dining setting, typical of Indian street food or eatery environments.

In the midst of pouring rain, as an Indian, I wanted chaat, chai and pakora :) Came over and found piping hot, crisp, flavorful onion pakora (surprisingly not oily), cutting chai and Chole bhature. They don't have the pani puri yet but I will be back! Bhature were also non oily and slightly on the thicker side. Presented very well but no pics since we jumped on it. Served with smiles on Christmas when they were short staffed was very sweet.

Yuminess - A ceramic plate contains naan bread, white rice, and several Indian curries, including spinach, tomato-based, and creamy sauces. The table also has copper bowls with different curries and side dishes, indicating a traditional Indian meal setting at a restaurant.

The Baigab Barta was the best I've ever had and the Dal fry was very tasty and not oily at all.

UNDERRATED Indian food and a must visit in Rockridge!…read more My family and I visited for dinner on Friday at 7:30pm. Only one other table was seated outside (they have heating lamps!), but we sat inside because it was cold out. After we ordered, staff started our meal with a complimentary order of the papadam with mint chutney. Very thoughtful! Staff also checked on us frequently throughout our meal and answered any questions we had regarding our food. FOOD: ~Appetizers~ Papadam: comes with mint and cilantro chutney! perfectly light and crispy (a tad on the salty side though) and complemented the cool, refreshing chutney well. 4/5 Chicken Samosa: not my fave due to personal taste (my family enjoyed these!), but they were PACKED with chicken which is awesome!! 3/5 Dahi Puri Chaat: me and my sister's favorite of the apps we ordered! the tamarind chutney, garbanzo beans, chickpeas, chaat spices, and crispy outer shell combined in a delicious symphony of flavor and texture. would order again!!!! 5/5 ~Sides~ Garlic Naan: VERY garlicky, fave of the whole family (: 5/5 Goat Cheese Naan: goat cheese is more on the sour end. to me it balanced out the spice of the curries well, but my family weren't fans. 4/5 Basmati Rice: no complaints! good standard basmati rice. 4/5 ~Entrees~ Lamb Korma: creamy, mild, delicious. lamb was not gamey and paired pleasantly with the almost cheesy-tasting sauce. 5/5 Classic chicken curry: solid chicken curry. my least favorite of the dishes we ordered but delicious by Indian curry standards. 4/5 Butter chicken: my FAVORITE of what we ordered. sweet, creamy, tender, MMMM. this one includes golden raisins in the sauce which was totally unexpected and new for me but actually works really well! would very much order again 5/5 Chicken Vindaloo: amazing, flavor-packed sauce and perfectly cooked potatoes (YESSSSSSS). we got some pretty big pieces of chicken too!! would also come back for more ugh yes 5/5 I am DEFINITELY coming again! Please come and try the food here, you will not regret!!

I always have to try the momos when trying a new Nepalese place. The momos didn't look close to the picture on the menu. My food looked like it was thrown into the container and shipped off, tumbled, upside down, and sideways. The dumpling wrap was almost on the soggy side. A little more time in the sealed box and they would have been soggy. Overall though, the dish was good with a bit of spice level. This is more of a 3.5 stars than a 4 stars.

We had ourselves an early dinner around 3 PM and he said the restaurant had just cleared out. Apparently they were packed for lunch!! I've never had a style of food before so I asked my boyfriend what I should order since he likes the style. He actually ordered me a chicken curry dish and himself another meat dish, but I can't remember what it was called. Both items as well as appetizer it was delicious! I should've taken a picture of the items we ordered for the appetizer since it was a three portion combo plate, but the pictures are below! Ambience was very relaxed and I really like how there was a half steps down into a little patio area so it seemed like you were almost underground, but you could see out. It was cute watching people walk their dogs and families ride their bike bikes. I will definitely want to come back here and get and buy more dishes!

The bola I had become soggy and the stuffing was spilling out - so hard to eat. - the chicken kabob was delicious - the filet mignon kabobs were tough and needed a knife - the kohbideh kabobs had disintegrated but were tasty - the Baba Ganoush portion seemed small for its price $12.50 - three tiny sauce containers for all this food, left us wanting! There was plenty of rice and bread. This was our first time order. Will try dining-in next time.

The fragrance from the kitchen wafted through the entire space made me want to try everything. It's a place where you order, pick up food and find a seat. I love that the pick up stations matches the type of food ordered. For example, I ordered the lunch special so I picked up my order under the special banner. Someone else ordered Tandoori, they picked up food under tandoori. I picked the chicken curry lunch special and I thought it was a basic choice, but the tray was anything but. So delicious! I love the lentil soup that came on the side. The table shared sev puri and the batata puri and both were really good. I think I liked the batata puri better. Its texture is similar to a hummus but with a lot more flavor. The cashier and the people at the pick up counter were all friendly. Patient especially with that many people waiting and asking if it's their dish or not. This was a new way to enjoy Indian food and I would come back to try more of the menu.
