This is a good spot with good service. It's not very loud, although when I was there, there was a football game on and some bros kept clapping and cheering.. Anyways, the drinks are good and not watered down, I really liked the veggie melt sandwich. I've been here a few times because it's so close to my apartment. Decently priced drinks and dive bar atmosphere. I haven't had a chance to check out the food, but have heard good things. In my times there, I haven't had the best service. This is the worst place in Brooklyn. Came in late at night for food, based on the reviews here. The bartender had the worst attitude I've ever seen in someone who's supposed to be working in the service industry. He left our food on the back counter while he nonchalantly conversed with patrons, and when we asked if we could go get it ourselves he said "I thought you were serving yourself because you didn't tip me", with the most obnoxious demeanor I've ever experienced. Firstly, if you want a tip there should be service involved, so take the order, bring the food and then bring us our bill and we'll tip. I'd fire someone for behavior like that.... read more

The food is only about ok, but one of the waitress there is really impolite. She put the water and later my drink on the table and walk away without saying anything. It seems like she takes good cares of the other two tables that came after us (at least she stopped by their tables and chatted with them), but never bother to come to our table and help us to order the food. I've had 2 separate bad experiences recently. Both having to do with the service. First at brunch, I ordered my food with a side of avocado. The meal didn't arrive with it so I told the bartender and He went to the kitchen to request it. About 2 minutes it was sitting on the kitchen counter. About 10 minutes later the bartender was still just on his phone and flirting with his coworker. My friend ended up going to the kitchen and grabbing it! The bartender never even noticed. And tonight I ordered a salmon salad to go. There was some confusion on the name for the order but they ensured me it was a salmon salad. Just got home to see I actually a beef sandwich and I don't eat red meat. This place has good food which is why is so sad they are one of the worst places for service. I mostly think they are surviving based on they are one of the few decent restaurants in the neighborhood. UPDATE: the restaurant reached out to me and tried to rectify the situation. They were very nice and accommodating. Still willing to give this place a chance and let's hope this continues. read more

So I decided to take my wife to brunch here instead of our regular spot 983 bushwick or Walter's (which are great!). We approached Skytown and a short white girl with long black hair was standing in the doorway. We gestured to go inside after asking if this is Skytown and she did not acknowledge us nor budge. so I proceed to open door wider. She didn't even look at us and just said wait. I've been to all caliber and level of restaurants and know when there is a racist tone to people. This is one of the them. We turned around and left. But what with the racist air to your restaurant Skytown? Food looks good but can't get to try it since all races are not welcome. read more

I prefer this place in the daytime, I guess. The egg sandwich is incredible, and the big windows let in lots of light. At night, I find the layout a bit awkward and not quite "bar"-like, and drinks are pretty expensive. Usually a couple good beers, but for some reason they bother carrying Killian's and Honey Brown on draft too. read more

The straightforward menu and hip ambiance draws neighborhood people in. The prices are fair and makes it an everyday go to place for coffee, drinks and comfort food. The staff were courteous enough to tell us that they were having stove problems and the dishes available were cut to bare minimum. I had the butternut squash soup. It was thick, decadent and really tasty. I will not forget that soup, it was filling and well spiced. Not super impressed with this place, however after reading reviews I wished I had come for brunch instead of dinner. When my boyfriend and I entered there was no one in the front to greet and seat guests. We waved to the bartender and pointed to a table asking if we could just sit. He brought over water and menus quickly, which was nice considering he had a handful of people at the bar. When our waitress came out she seems really uninterested in being there and took our orders. We asked for drink menus but they only have their drink menu listed over the bar so if you're seated at a table you can't see it without going over to it. The food came pretty quick but one of the dishes was wrong. Instead of the grilled chicken sandwich it was the fried chicken sandwich, but the waitress said grilled when she brought it out (honestly not sure if this was just overlooked or she just didn't care to mention it to the chef when picked it up). The mussels were the best dish we ordered, but they are pretty small in comparison to the ones you can get around the DVM. My boyfriend ordered the Sourdough and Pig Butt with Swiss sandwich which wasn't too bad but nothing amazing. We both agreed that second best to the mussels were their fries. Maybe if we had come for happy hour or brunch we would've have felt differently, but the experience, service, and food was overall meh. read more

Went here for brunch the other day with some friends. They have an amazing vibe and decor. However, we had a waitress who was nice but gave us extremely slow service and constant problems/mixups with our orders, especially during a time when there wasn't a lot of other guests. I got the egg sandwich and it seemed to lack the justification of being 10 dollars. Maybe Ill try it again one day and when I do I hope it isnt just over cooked eggs, a tiny bit of cheese with a molecular shmear of avocado on ciabatta. Its too lackluster for what any deli chef could easily make for a third the price or less. It tasted good but not worth the price. The bloody mary was on point though! The food is really really good. Definitely recommend the eats here - also, great vibe and overall cute and good quality particularly for the area. Trouble is the service. Whatever blonde girl was working the morning of 10/31 was so, incredibly rude. My friend and I sat there for 27 minutes, making eye contact and asking for water multiple times before she ever made her way to the table to greet us. She never made eye contact with us the entire time - and we even had a conversation with the table parallel to us about her neglectful attitude. I understand if your having a bad day - but seriously, all you had to do was bring us water and take our order. It was completely unnecessary to have to be there for 2 hours when there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. However - tonight I came back in to give it a second chance, and the service is substantially better. read more

Welp, I knew where I was going but I didn't see a sign outside, but once I saw the books through the glass I knew it was the place. Upon entering the restaurant it was loud and there wasn't a greater so I didn't know if we sat ourselves or wait for someone to seat us. We took the liberty of just sitting down... We we're waiting for our waiter but there was no waiter so we had to go the the bar to order our food. The food came quick. I ordered the sky burger (turkey) it was tastee! The salad was DRENCED in salad dressed so it was a tad bit tart but bearable.. Overall is was a ok experience . It was very loud and they were setting up for free karaoke so it added more to the noise. .. Would I go back again.?? No I wouldn't. read more

I live right up the block, so it's a bar I like to go too on occasion. It's not my favorite, but it works. I do enjoy the candle lit ambiance if I'm looking for a nice conversation or dinner. I've never felt letdown by the food. If you're a vegetarian, there's usually a lot of options for you. They have a nice choice of cocktails, beer options and non-alcoholic options like tea, coffee and lemonade. The prices are reasonable, though I wish they had a happy hour that doesn't involve a shot. Overall, it works and is a nice addition to the neighborhood. But there's nothing there that keeps me wanting to go back. I go out of convenience mostly. read more

This place absolutely rocks.... So there are many cool bars and restaurants and cafes in Bushwick now, yes. But this place stands out way above the rest because it is genuine and you don't feel like you are a customer even - it's a a real personal connection instead. I saw a girl sitting there alone and it just felt right... "Come as you are" like Curt Kobain once said! On a serious note Ery is one of the best there ever was and he runs a stellar operation! He is kind, gracious and hospitable in a way that you cannot compare. Love love love Skytown! The cocktails are top-notch with fresh and homemade ingredients when possible. The staff and owners are all super fun, witty and quick to make you feel welcome. The Skybowls are awesome and I love that they change with the local produce that's available. You MUST have the roasted potatoes. Absolutely delicious and the dipping sauce is outstanding. So happy they moved into the old B-bar space as we were lacking a good place for both food and whiskey. 5 Stars being all around bad-ass on any night of the week. read more

When the chicken and waffles arrived it smelled and looked burnt and asked for something else. The waitress was sweet and allowed the return for the kale salad.
