Quaint local bar with limited menu for food and drinks. The staff are nice and there's jazz, movie, and comedy night weekly. Great for a local date or meeting friends over drinks and pizza. Food items are limited and not a heavy non alcoholic option but still a quaint bar. I recommend this bar, especially for their event nights. I stumbled across this spot after a movie night in the park and it gave neighborhood easy. I sat right on the sidewalk across from the band playing live funk. Pretty string lighting, huge art wall and the band gave bush wick vibes. Everyone was nice enough and the staff even brought out jenga for my niece & I. We didn't have a need to ever go inside. The grilled cheese was cool. It had spinach in there with a side bag of chips. This was a while ago so I believe their menu has changed. Overall, I'd say to go here for something casual, no frills, but still a good time. read more

I wanted to like it here since it's close, but it needs some work. $12 pepperoni pizza- frozen and saw them take it out the shrink wrap and put in air frier. They don't offer plates for the pizza either. Drink was just ok, oh I wasn't offered water. read more

Great little neighborhood spot! I love their different themed nights- trivia, jazz etc

Initial reaction I didn't like the place but I warmed up to it once the food arrived. Initial: no bar acknowledgement walking in (it isn't a restaurant but a bar so there isn't a hostess but there are bartenders) no one said a peep. Once you select a seat and go to the bar you will be acknowledged and receive service (claim a seat if it ever gets busy then go to the bar). It's more of a beer bar than cocktail spot (unless they hire a tender that knows how to mix). But the real pull/allure thus far is the food made on hot plates and the events. Not sure if the music changes or not (hopefully it does) but for the duration of my time it didn't and unfortunately we missed the drag show and weren't goi g to stay long enough should another event be taking place. I like 70s/disco music so I definitely didn't mind much. Overall it seems like a chill spot for lunch and a jazzy dinner. read more

Like, it sorta feels like the old Wilky but like, waaaaay more awkward, with the staff almost surprised to have anyone come in to eat if drink. The food choices are really terrible. Watermelon salad with jalapeño. What a disaster. Giant fucking pretzels that are nearly raw. It's such a shame. Went to Marian's Thursday night for a drink, ended up staying for a whole jazz show! Definitely a hidden gem. No need to go to Django at the Roxy when you can come here. So damn unpretentious, so unassuming, and the bar area is big enough. They respect Covid protocols by asking for your Vax and ID and the drinks are on point. Food is great, that cook puts his elbow in it. It's on the far eastern fringes of Bed Stuy, one more block and you're in Bushwick. The Jazz set in the back room has speak easy vibes. Low light, great ambient sound. Gives me hope that this society still have folks young and old that love the institution of jazz. Thursday-Sunday I believe they do jazz . May be a bit out of the way for many, it's a stand alone bar so you need to hit Broadway if you want to bar crawl. It's worth the trip though! read more

Came here because a friend proclaimed that the Mac and cheese with chili is the best she's ever had - and she's quite the Mac and cheese connoisseur. To put it to the test, I tried it out this weekend. The two of us split the BLT and the Mac and cheese and I thought both were phenomenal. You can literally watch your food be made from your seat, as the "kitchen" is right next to the bar. Because of this, you can taste how fresh the food is and it really tastes like a home cooked meal. The ambiance is great and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I'd love to come back again for one of their jazz nights and a cocktail. They have a great beer selection too! Will be returning for all the above - but especially that Mac and cheese!! read more

We've been waiting for this spot to open up, so glad it finally did! The live jazz is awesome, especially when it's nice outside, there's a ton of outdoor seating. Dog friendly for sure, and yummy cocktails! I had the Tippin' on 44's. Staff was great, my fave sandwich so far is the Tuk Tuk, but the Grilled Cheese is a close second. read more

Just moved into the neighborhood and so happy to have this bar on my block. Great drinks, an incredibly friendly staff, great music and a perfect neighborhood feel. The live jazz on Saturday nights gets the whole neighborhood in a summer mood, but definitely worth checking out any night of the week. The Lawnchair cocktail is delicious. read more

I was a big fan of the previous bar in this space - the Wilky and was excited to try Marian's, after the Wilky had been closed for over 6 months. But on the first night I went there our simple order of 2 beers and a pretzel took over 30 minutes to appear. this was mildly annoying but not that big of a deal. we politely reminded our server we were still waiting on drinks and eventually when we got the pretzel it was still frozen inside so we sent it back. after this ordeal, which would have been quickly forgotten by us, the manager? owner? came out and asked us to never come back to this bar. we certainly won't and you shouldn't either. insanely bizarre experience and a shame considering how often we used to go here and how close we live.I read more

Such a shame - The Wilky - which was in this spot previously was a great little bar - especially for beer lovers. We have lived a block away for nearly 20 years so we're excited to see a Jazz venue and bar open up so soon after the Wilk closed. But I stopped in for a beer yesterday and the experience was pretty bad. I ordered a pint and a pretzel - happy that the menu for food and drink has barely changed since the wilky days. That's where the happiness ended. I waited about 20 minutes for my pretzel and in the end finished my beer and asked for the check telling them not to worry about the snack. But they said: "no - it will just be another 5 minutes or so." I again said I was done and politely asked for the check as I didnt want a second beer. Again the poor server came back out and said the manager wanted me to have the pretzel and I should wait. So I then insisted on paying for my beer - which I did. As I walked away the server followed me with a takeout box saying the manager wants you to have this. I said no and kept on walking - pretty weird experience. Also - as an aside - I love Jazz and thought at least they are a Jazz bar - but was met with blank stares when I asked them about the kind of music they wanted to play and just chatting about Jazz in general. It seems they have neither the bar nor the Jazz element of Jazz bar down yet. Here's hoping they improve - a neighborhood needs a good bar!! read more

I typically give people the benefit of doubt and I actually normally love going here, honestly this is my first time writing a bad review - and I hate that it's for Marians; however whoever the blonde bartender is is just rude and mildly aggressive for no apparent reason. We went in on a Wednesday afternoon with the bar pretty much empty, with the exception of the bartenders friends sitting at the end of the bar. The bartender didn't say anything to us when we walked in and kind of seemed annoyed in general and was complaining about work. After a while of sitting, she came over and took my partners order and walked away as I started to say mine. Once she finished getting my partner's drink she came back and seemed annoyed when getting my order (which my order wasn't a mixed drink and the bar wasn't busy, and I tried to say my order before she walked away...so a little confused as to why she was being so short and rude towards us...towards both of us). When we got our drinks one of the glasses were dirty, however we didn't say anything because the bartender had just loudly complained and started bad mouthing to the waitress/cook about another person sending their dirty glass back and her having to re-pour the beer. Basically the whole experience just made us feel uncomfortable and where we were initially going to sit for a while and buy more drinks/enjoy the night out, we ended up chugging our drink quickly and leaving after 1 drink. Truly couldn't leave fast enough and just felt off-put by the whole encounter. Would I go back, yes. Would I go back and sit inside, likely not. Especially if the blonde bartender's still there...hoping it was just a bad day for her, but still just disappointing when normally we have a good time here. read more

Wow wow wow this place is great. I rang them asking if they could host a surprise birthday and got a response right away. They set up a number of options for me and our guests, including a cake they made specifically for the party. The food is spectacular year round - we'd been enjoying their sandwiches all summer, and they just switched over to their fall menu which is just as varied and delicious. The selection behind the bar, too, made it so everyone at the party had a drink they loved, and the service was personal and fast through the night. I am so glad this is not the Wilky anymore! Marian's is such a refreshing new spot, especially after this past year. The food is better, the drink options are endless, and the jazz (Thursday-Saturday) is great, a super fun vibe for the neighborhood, especially when it spills out onto the sidewalk area. I'm also a fan of the games, and Sunday events...I caught the tarot card reader, and it was a very unique experience to have in a bar! Plus, the staff is always nice and up for a chat!
