We came here to finish up our Saturday night (got here around 1am on Sunday morning) and it was good energy from the people who were dancing and enjoying life. The same good vibes was not on display by the workers. They all seemed very over it all. Which kinda sucks because it was my first time there and my homies 3rd time and it didn't rub us the right way. Didn't order food and the drinks were solid. Around 20 bucks for a drink. The bar is tucked in the back right corner. After getting our drinks and going through a narrow aisle and bumping into everyone we got to the dance floor which is as soon as you enter and we did our lil 2step but it seemed like most people were just vibing out. This was a cute spot. Came here for a drink to celebrate graduating. The drinks were a bit pricey for me, but they weren't bad. The bartender was nice. He made me something off the menu because i wanted something a bit different. I got there around 10ish and it was pretty empty for a Saturday night. It stayed pretty empty most of the night. There was a dj who was playing some good things. We were able to bring in food from outside to sit and eat. They also have an outdoor space as well. It was a bit warm without the ac on. But once they turned it on it was okay. I stayed maybe 2 hours then went over to another bar for a different vibe. All in all, not bad. I was looking for a new place to go and celebrate my birthday at a place that I had never been. I did some Yelp searching and came upon this place. The place looked great and the reviews were great. I sent a message on IG and received a prompt response, which I throughly appreciated and felt like I made the right choice. I arrived really early, in attempt, to gather some seats for whenever everyone got there. I had a Moscow Mule, and did some work on my laptop. They had a nice bask splash and chandeliers and had a cool vibe. For the first two hours, it was mostly older school reggae. However, around 8PM that changed. Also, they had a DJ come in and it turned into R&B and Hip Hop. The service was okay, a little on the slow side, but he was back there by himself. Everyone in my group had a wonderful time and I got to finally end my birthday with a bang. After spent a day in Friday, i was ready to hit the town! Black-owned establishment and was met with an amazing staff Adrien/Adrian (i hope I'm spelling it correctly lol first one when they opened and was informed later there would be a DJ. Adrien/Adrian made me an old fashion w/ my fav Japanese whiskey it was delicious. I made new friends and everyone was so nice. Went here for New Years Eve and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It's considered a neighborhood bar, but I could tell it's a little city gem in Crown Heights. The drinks, baaaaaaby. S/O to the bartender Trè who made me a rum punch so good I only needed 2 to 'get right'. Not I'm sure they have food, but on New Year's Eve, I wasn't looking for food. They have amazing DJs who will keep you dancing all night. They even passed out complimentary glasses of champagne to everyone, even if you had a drink. " As I waited for my friend to arrive, I was greeted by a gentleman out front. His name was Fred. Fred was extremely helpful and charming. He made me feel at east while I waited. Friendly and informative. My guest arrives and we go inside. A nice cozy, speakeasy. Very intimate environment. Due to the weather, we opted to sit out back. Nice area to hold a conversation. I ordered a very tasty drink, can't remember the name but it had Thyme in it, I think. A very pleasant vibe and I will definitely be back. Monday on the way to the bathroom I accidently stepped on someone's foot and Immediately asked if both women was ok one of the ladies beside her a guest who she was giving Free pours to dancing said eveything was good then the staff gave her a look then she switched & accused me of being aggressive by me asking "Queen are you alright" told me the silent lady (green dress) is staff there she then proceeded to have me removed and the other female beside her w grey sweatpants came outside taunting provoking me when I did nothing. High school bafoonery. This is how the staff treats the female patrons after the "staff" drinks a few glasses of wine. Asking the owner to check the footage to investigate my claims. If she is the owner then Brooklyn Please Do Not Go To Drink! It was not a hospitable environment if you step on someone (staff) foot!!! Found this bar the way all bars are found... had a friend come in from out of town, and we were looking for a place to continue our reunion. I'm so happy This was the place we found. The ambiance of this place is similar to that of a R &b, jazzy speakeasy. When we went they had a dj who was absolutely killing it. Also, I had a lovely conversation with the bartender/owner, who made me feel like we had known each other for years. He made me a mean Negroni (truly out of this world), and I couldn't help but try my friends cosmo which was equally amazing. I visited Drink last night as I found of the spot on Yelp. Off rip, I'm glad that the establishment is Black owned. Upon further reading on other sites, I also found out that one of the owners went to C.W. Post which is my Alma Mater as well. I was looking for a spot to kick it at for my birthday and Drink seemed to have the vibe and ambiance that I was looking for. The Tresse is a bad ass drink. I really enjoyed it. The only knock I have is that there wasn't any food served. I visited the bar a week prior and although i didn't eat, there was a chef making rasta pasta. So i guess i just wasnt clear as to when there is and isn't food. The music was dope. Later into the evening there's a DJ and you'll get more upbeat tunes at that point. It was also an uncharacteristically warm night for December. I made use of the back yard area as well. It's a small space, but there's plenty of seating, including an L-shaped bar, high top tables, and chesterfield sofas. Old fashioneds seemed most appropriate for the space. Unfortunately, they were cloyingly sweet. I tried to get through it, but eventually asked the bartender if he could make me another without the simple syrup. He was surprised. No one had ever said they were too sweet before, which I found shocking. He ended up just adding another shot of bourbon to my drink, which made it at least tolerable. Our two lady bartenders were awesome! Shena made us their signature "Drink", a purpleish drink made from gin and other unknown ingredients. It was strong and tasted a little like licorice. She also made us the bomb Basil Watermelon Smash. She substituted vodka for Bourbon upon request. Love how they are so flexible. Sadly I didn't take advantage of them and instead ordered the regular cocktails, but that's all the more reason to come back. I started with the Unknown Soldier drink with extra ginger beer. It tasted great, especially the ginger beer!! It is some of the best ginger beer I've ever had and I particularly urge you all to try cocktails that include it.
