I was looking for a new place to go and celebrate my birthday at a place that I had never been. I did some Yelp searching and came upon this place. The place looked great and the reviews were great. I sent a message on IG and received a prompt response, which I throughly appreciated and felt like I made the right choice. I arrived really early, in attempt, to gather some seats for whenever everyone got there. I had a Moscow Mule, and did some work on my laptop. They had a nice bask splash and chandeliers and had a cool vibe. For the first two hours, it was mostly older school reggae. However, around 8PM that changed. Also, they had a DJ come in and it turned into R&B and Hip Hop. The service was okay, a little on the slow side, but he was back there by himself. Everyone in my group had a wonderful time and I got to finally end my birthday with a bang. Thanks to the staff for the prompt response, the bartender, who seemed cool and the security guards who took several pictures for my group and kept the area clean.

Went here for New Years Eve and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It's considered a neighborhood bar, but I could tell it's a little city gem in Crown Heights. The drinks, baaaaaaby. S/O to the bartender Trè who made me a rum punch so good I only needed 2 to 'get right'. Not I'm sure they have food, but on New Year's Eve, I wasn't looking for food. They have amazing DJs who will keep you dancing all night. They even passed out complimentary glasses of champagne to everyone, even if you had a drink. Needless to say I will definitely be back.

Cheers to Drink lounge. Also, I love that it's black owned in this ever changing neighborhood. Let's talk decor. I have been fascinated with the wallpaper since they opened (around 2012,2013). Touch it...it's velvet with a subtle pink. Chandeliers are nice which compliments the black cieling. It's no secret, I love the decor. This is date night approved. This is afterwork hangout approved. When it's nice out , you can take advantage of the backyard. Wonderful Tequila and Whiskey options! The Bartender use to be from Franklin Park, but we grown now and FP is for the youngins. She's amazing, attentive and chill. This place is Chill. Don't you want to chill out? Catch a vibe? Actually hear your date? This is the place to be.

Found this bar the way all bars are found... had a friend come in from out of town, and we were looking for a place to continue our reunion. I'm so happy This was the place we found. The ambiance of this place is similar to that of a R &b, jazzy speakeasy. When we went they had a dj who was absolutely killing it. Also, I had a lovely conversation with the bartender/owner, who made me feel like we had known each other for years. He made me a mean Negroni (truly out of this world), and I couldn't help but try my friends cosmo which was equally amazing. It was a great night, we literally were the last ones there because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Also there is a smoking lounge in the back which is nice of you are interested in that. Can't wait to come back!!

    The margarita was one point!!

I love this place. This is going to be my spot . I have been here about 6 times. Twice in the past week. Shout to JB the bartender. He brings such good vibes and attentiveness. The drinks are good, prices are reasonable. Fridays they have a DJ. They got a small backyard. I love the low dim light and decor perfect for dates, girls night out or even your boys. The frills here no dress code. Come here to be happy and have a good time!

Alright now this spot is dope lol. Black owned. Great music. Even better bartender. Like I'm sold. I got a few bourbon based drinks (I requested Woodford, and my drinks were made to perfection ). I'll be back!

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

The room is moving, the energy is right, and it feels like a real party instead of a playlist on shuffle. Friday nights with the live drums? Different level. That's when Bembe really shows its roots. The drums add this raw, authentic feel that turns the whole night into an experience instead of just a bar stop. Now let's talk drinks -- because this one deserves its own moment: The tequila with the lime dipped in coffee grounds is surprisingly delicious. Bathroom Review (2 out of 4) Safety - Bouncer presence helps a lot. You feel secure moving back there. Accessibility - Easy enough to get to, no maze or weird hallway journey. Space - Bathrooms are small and tucked way in the back. Gets cramped fast. Privacy - Sinks are outside the bathrooms, which kills the privacy a bit when it's packed.
