I am really disappointed in this establishment tonight. My boyfriend was wearing a sweatshirt which he has worn before there and got turned away. I live in the area around the corner and we go multiple times a week for drinks. It was also a sentimental spot because it was our first date spot on a Wednesday when it was snowing and we were the only ones there. One of my favorite neighborhood spots for good vibes, good drinks and good music. Depending on who is DJing, you'll get a good mix of RnB, Hip hop, reggae, soca, etc. The perri Rossi is my go to drink usually but I've tried a few of their other cocktails and they were good. On weekends it will get packed by 10pm so I suggest getting there early if you wanna claim a spot. My favorite thing is that it's always been good vibes and community like feeling there. read more

deia is a great option! this was my second time at this location, and it was exceptional as usual. on first impression, you walk through the beautiful restaurant, and the outside area is just stunning. it's so well decorated and has such an upscale feel. i would totally recommend trying the nachos. they're a very filling portion and have a variety of toppings, making them great for sharing. i also really loved the truffle fries, which had a subtle truffle flavor and a beautiful crunch. i would definitely recommend visiting this spot. i was with a party of five, and we all had an incredible time. the service was great, we were frequently checked on, and everything was delivered quickly; i had my order in less than 20 minutes. it's a very fun place with a wonderful vibe, and i'll definitely be back. read more

I came across DEIÀ on social media, and after checking out their page, I added it to my "wanna-go" list. I saw on their page that Tuesday through Thursday was happy hour, so my cousins and I decided to check it out. I love an after work shindig where you can have a good time & still get home before it's too late for work the next day. Their happy hour menu consists only of drinks. I tried their whiskey sour, which was good, and my cousins and I also tried their lemon drop martinis -- those were good too. We actually ordered two rounds. Their menu features "small bites," and we tried the beef empanadas, coconut shrimp, fries with cheese, nachos, and ceviche. The fries had just a light sprinkle of cheese, but they did provide a side of cheese sauce. The star of the night was definitely the nachos -- some of the best I've had. I'm a "saucy girl," so I hate when I get nachos and end up with a bunch of plain chips left over because all the toppings were served in scoops. DEIÀ's nachos had sauce that was evenly distributed throughout, and my cousins agreed they were excellent. The ceviche was also very good and had a generous amount of shrimp. The coconut shrimp was tasty as well, and the sauce that came with it complemented it perfectly. DEIÀ has a very laid-back atmosphere with good music, dim lighting, and stylish décor. My friend brought me here for a night out and it didn't disappoint! We got there closer to 10:30 and it was PACKED. All the cocktail are pretty and fairly priced. The food is good too its elevated bar food - highly recommend the empanadas. Happy that we don't have to go to Williamsburg or central Brooklyn for a good cocktail bar. Definitely get there early (5-7pm) it can get packed on Friday-Sunday nights. read more

I've been to Deia so many times I'm surprised I've never written a review. I feel like an unofficial ambassador at this point. Deia is a vibe no matter what night you drop in. The DJ rotation is on point and it's great for a gorgeous cocktail, mingle with beautiful people, grabbing a bite to eat or shaking ya bootay on the dance floor. They're a narrow space but they have some tables in the back for walk-in and reservations. They're also have an outdoor area in the back that's nice to get some fresh air and sometimes they'll have a game or movie on the projector. I went to the Happy Cork election day watch party, this is a Black-owned venue. The space is chic and trendy, but it has a linear layout that makes it a bit challenging to pass by someone. They do have a small backyard area that offers a nice break from being indoors. I've visited several times, and each time I've noticed a different crowd, which I really appreciate. It seems more and more people are discovering how dope this place is. The weekends can get packed. I haven't tried the food here yet, but I plan to do so in the near future. read more

The bartender, Siren, was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and really elevated the whole experience. Now, here's my only gripe: no fries on the menu. For a spot that hits so many marks perfectly, it's a little surprising they don't offer something as simple and cost-effective as fries. To the owner, please consider adding truffle fries to the menu. Sometimes patrons only need something salty and light to nibble on while enjoying drinks. That aside, Deia continues to shine with great ambiance, exceptional service, and an overall excellent experience. I'll definitely be back--hopefully to see fries make an appearance! read more

I've wanted to visit since they opened and was in the area and couldn't resist. Such a charming bar. The vibes were on point as I walked into the dimly lit bar with the music to match. It was a Wednesday night around 7:30pm and it wasn't crowded. I sat at the bar and ordered the Anaïs cocktail with truffle fries. The bartender was friendly and acknowledged me as I sat down. I'm becoming adventurous these days and visiting bars by myself lately. It's always good to know you can come to a bar like Deia by yourself and not feel overwhelmed or intimidated. It's a great neighborhood bar with a calm atmosphere. The drink by the way was excellent...I only needed 1 lol ! The fries were equally delicious. Such a dope vibe! The bartenders and servers are so accommodating and the music is always just right. I've been twice now (once on a weekday and once on a weekend) and both times, although different were a great vibe. Samir (spelling?) and Chanel are phenomenal at making drinks. There was one server I didn't get her name but she was so nice and made sure I was taken care of. The food is bomb, my friend and I ordered the wings, nachos (not pictured) and the shrimp ceviche. The ceviche?!! My gosh it's so good and fresh! I don't order ceviche from everywhere and Sameer (trying a diff spelling) said it was bomb and he was not lying, it was so good. I had a really disappointing and frankly insulting experience at this bar. I came to support my DJ friends and ordered food from a staff member who appeared to be a server. After waiting thirty minutes with no update, I found out my order was never placed because the staff assumed I wanted free food--without ever asking me or clarifying anything. Instead of simply communicating, they just ignored my order based on their own baseless judgment. When I brought it up, the bartender looked concerned, but the person claiming to be the owner was dismissive and full of contradictions. First, he said the kitchen was closed. Then he said I should've ordered at the bar. Then he said it was a cocktail bar. None of these excuses actually addressed why they assumed I wasn't going to pay. Instead of taking responsibility, he just talked in circles and never once apologized or admitted any mistake. Instead, he tried to make me feel guilty for not ordering at the bar and even blamed me for ordering from the barback--when I had no way of knowing that the person wasn't allowed to take orders. If that was the case, why didn't anyone just tell me the right way to order instead of jumping to unfair conclusions? Even worse, the owner canceled my order in a completely arbitrary way without ever trying to communicate. As a business owner, why didn't he care about losing a customer? And why, in just twenty minutes of being there, was I perceived as someone trying to get free food? The whole thing felt ridiculous and unfair. The only person who made me feel like my experience actually mattered was the bartender, but unfortunately, he wasn't in a position to do anything about it. And to top it all off, as I was saying goodbye to my friends because after all of that I didn't want to be there anymore , right before leaving the owner came up with the nastiest attitude and sarcastically offered me the sandwich they had finally made. At that point, it was obvious they never had any intention of making things right--it just felt like an afterthought, or worse, a way to mock me. At first glance, the place looks nice, and the drink menu seemed appealing, but I never even got the opportunity to try anything because of how poorly I was treated.
