The restaurant is a little snug and a bit loud, but that shouldn't be a deterrent. You can still have a nice conversation and there's plenty of room once you are seated. Cute little French bistro. We ordered the snail that came with crusty bread that was perfect for scooping up all the sauces. Felt like there were a lot more snails that little pockets for the snails. Total win! Ordered 6 oysters which is the minimum order. All very fresh and tasty. Order the duck confit that came with a side of homemade chips that were so addicting. Beautiful ambience. The bar is so cute. The French motif is wonderful. I loved the yellow walls and the angled mirrors. The bartender who greeted us and sat us was great. Our waiter wore black latex gloves the entire time like a tattoo artist. He was tall and wore glasses and insisted that he was "goin to bring more water when our bottle was empty" after we asked for more water. Clearly he hasn't spent much time working in hospitality. The burger was extremely greasy and left my hands soaked. When asked for a temperature preference, I ordered medium. When I received my burger and began eating it was obviously rare. Extremely high quality meat and I love that they served mayo and ketchup on the side so I could dress the burger to my personal taste. Top it off with an elite cocktail selection and we've got an immediate candidate for my favorite bar/restaurant in Bushwick. This week, I checked out Mominette for brunch with my big bro who was visiting this weekend. We arrived around 1pm on Sunday and we were seated out back within five minutes. We started with a Bellini carafe which was a pretty decent price but too much juice and not enough bubbly. We shared oysters, escargot and camembert wrapped in phyllo with prunes and mushroom on top. It was appetizer heaven! Next up we ordered boeuf bourguignon and burgers with frites. The bourguignon was just like grandma used to make, tender and the sauce was rich with flavor. My companions enjoyed their burgers - both were cooked as requested. I came here for brunch. I recommend sitting outside if you can since its lovely. The service was pretty regular but the wait staff is good. We got the coffee- sort of ok- and then the pancake, the ratatouille omlette and the burger. I highly recommend the pancake, it has a cake consistency and comes with a delicious strawberry butter. I also loved my burger, it was one of the better ones Ive had from a preparation standpoint, I got it with the blue cheese. The ratatouille omlette wasnt really a stand out but it was good. I do have to preface that getting ahold of the manager was difficult but not impossible (use email and follow up with a call). They carved out enough space for me in a section of their intimate restaurant. The waitstaff were able to keep things organized and the food/drinks flowing. Do yourself a favor and add on extras for $2 each (it's worth every single penny). We added the goat cheese, egg, Gruyère, and jalapeños for an extra zest!
