Walked in for brunch and we were able to get a table without wait at 12:30 on a Saturday. The decor is simple but beautiful. We ordered the burger which came on a homemade crusty bun, the roasted beets and labneh special, and the Algerian crepes with dates, orange blossom, and mint. Everything solid including the service, 5/5 stars. The gift shop next door has beautiful rugs and baskets as well, check it out after the meal.
The food was amazing. We didn't have reservations we went on Saturday afternoon and they took us right in for brunch. Super nice. Noise level was good.
This place was so cute! We walked by it on our way home from a Sunday morning pilates class, and decided to get breakfast. It was still early in the day so the place was empty which was kind of nice. The space is small but charming, and there is a little shop where you can purchase candles, clothes, etc. The food was good; everything tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. The sabayon on the French toast was perfect. The only "complaint" I had was that they only had whole milk or oat milk for coffee dairy options, but it wasn't a big deal. The orange juice was also fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this spot.
I've been to Simple twice and I really do love this spot. It's so special and quaint and the quality of the food is great. We got their appetizer dips, chicken tajine, steak frites, chocolate cake and crepes for dessert. There is a cute shop with hand picked goods for purchase (clothes, Perfume, kitchen ware) and a little bar next to their exposed kitchen. I enjoy this spot but give it a four star rating because the portion sizes are pretty small and the prices do not match that. Otherwise, I recommend.
I had the chance to dine here for a friends birthday lunch. He had made a reservation prior and the restaurant had reserved their long table in the middle of the space for us (about eight of us). The menu was on a QR code so we took some time to look over it while ordering a round of drinks. When it came time to order I went with their name sake Simple Burger. A decent burger with a nice side of fries. Overall this was a decent spot for lunch but honestly felt better for a morning coffee. I'd still go here for either but the cafe vibes are very strong here! They also have a store where you can purchase mugs and other such items.
I like getting brunch in Williamsburg periodically. My friend picked this restaurant because the pictures look amazing when we did a search. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. It was a really cold day so it wasn't at its full capacity and we got seats right away. The services here were great however the food was meh. We ordered the French Toast, Algerian lamb sausage merguez and one of their special course which I couldn't remember the name. Portions are VERY small for all 3 dishes and they don't taste good. French toast doesn't taste fresh either. Also ordered latte, a beer and ginger lemonade to drink. The ginger lemonade is extremely sour.. I couldn't taste anything except how sour it is. Don't think I will come back here again in the future
Ive dined here a few times and I've always had a pleasant experience. First of the service is amazing. One guy with great glasses around his mid 20s is especially amazing! The place itself is very cute and cozy and a great place for outdoor dining since I've only dined during covid with the precautions. I've had the ricotta pancakes, the kale salad and the Algerian Tchoutchouka and everything is delicious. I've also had boozy brunch here too. Definitely support this business!
I have been walking pass this place for months and finally decided to try this place. One day before the brunch rush, and i asked the server what was good here. Turns out that this young man was the owner and had recently opened back up. I have order several items off the menu to get a feel for my favorite foods. I never leave disappointed. I am in love with the egg and goat cheese sandwich. Definitely a top choice for all palettes. Koffi runs this ray of sunshine on the corner of bedford and s 3rd. He is always cheerful and open to talking. His presence is very relaxing and he goes the extra mile to be an encouragement or cheerful smile to anyone's day! Definitely give this place a try not just for the great conversation but also the great eats from pancake, burgers, or lamb sausages its all good. I believe this will be a neighborhood staple for many years to come. Top recommendations is the burger or the egg and goat cheese sandwich. Always my top 2 favorites to order.
Ordered online on a Sat for lunch. Got Chorba (soup) and steak frites. Pros soup is delicious, a big portion but a bit watery steak is prepared as per my instruction (medium rare) and it is yummy fries got soggy as it was in the same container with the steak. Wish they pack the fries separately to maintain the crispiness bathroom is very clean Cons The online platform charged $2 fee. Also, it did not have option to provide instruction. Since I ordered steak frites, I would like to have my steak medium rare and I needed to follow up with a phone call for the instruction. It took 45 min to get the order Plastic utensils were not provided and I needed to ask for it it also has a little shop and an outdoor dining table
Really special restaurant! The woman who owns the restaurant is usually there, and she took inspiration from her home country of France and Algerian roots to make the fusion menu. The place looks like a homey, cozy kitchen or dining room - feels like you are dining in someone's home. We started off with dips and bread which were delicious. We tried both the vegetable and chicken tangines which all felt like a home cooked meal. Very warm and flavorful. The restaurant also has a home decor shop which is cute to look at afterwards.

Something very different French and Algerian mixed restaurant. The food is definitely a French twist and the plates are served in a rustic African style. Where we had poached eggs with salmon, the eggs were perfectly poached. We were staying up across the street at the Moxy hotel and noticed this cute restaurant. It's lovely to sit outside and people watch and pet talks as they pass by service friendly as expected in a French restaurant. read more
I'm going to start this by staying I definitely would have had a more enjoyable time if I ordered something differently. I got the Ricotta & Lemon Preserved Pancakes for brunch, I'm allergic to strawberries so they were nice to give me five & grapes with it instead. Unfortunately the figs weren't ripe so it wasn't fun eating them and the pancakes themself were a bit dense with odd grittiness throughout. Just overal not pleasant but I could see that these could have been great. Everyone around me seemed to have a great time so I really think it was just me. I was disappointed that they didn't have anything to drink like chai or matcha, I don't drink coffee so I just went with a black tea. Would love to see the non-coffee menu expand! I want to come back for dinner, the menu looks great & very different then the rest of the area. read more

Cute little gem in Williamsburg. The owner is lovely. A restaurant/cafe and a small gift shop. Kale salad and steak was my fav! The tagine was good but the chef mistakenly made a vegetarian version instead of the chicken. They took it back to add chicken but it came out tasting weird (overcooked and slightly sandy in texture). Tasted much better when it firs came out. read more

My friends and I stopped in here for Sunday brunch after Rabbit Hole had over an hour wait. It definitely did the trick! It definitely has a French, urban chic feel. I didn't find the chair particularly comfortable, and my chair kept bumping the person behind me. However, the food was solid. The friend chicken sandwich came with a great sauce, and the crepe was stuffed! I really liked my baked eggs; although it was small, it was rich and flavorful. I also went for the Bloody Mary, which had no garnish but was delicious and plenty alcoholic. Includes some outdoor seating. I would not hesitate to come back. read more
As its name suggests, Simple has a rustic and quaint ambiance to it that is warm and inviting. I came here on a sunny Sunday and had a nice relaxing brunch here at Simple. The food while basic was intriguing and enjoyable. For example, the brunch dish I got was the Algerian Lamb Plate which consisted of just scrambled eggs, gratin, and of course, the lamb sausage (as well as some harissa). The scrambled eggs were cooked to be light and fluffy. It really was a pleasure to eat compared to the overcooked scrambled eggs I ate earlier in the week at my company's breakfast. The gratin was incredibly creamy and combined well with the eggs and the lamb sausage (which were fine. The lamb flavor certainly came through). The harissa provided some nice spiciness to balance out the gratin and egg. Besides that dish I also got an iced coffee which was fine. I probably would opt for the Vietnamese coffee next time since I don't mind the sweetness of that drink. read more

"Yay! I'm a fan," is a great way to describe Simple Cafe & Restaurant, a French Algerian restaurant. It had been on my radar for quite some time, because it's so close to my apartment. Went on a weekday evening - the inside is super cute and the food was stellar, but there was no one inside for some reason. Think brunch might be their big thing? Regardless, we sat down and started with some waters. I ordered the banh mi with spicy lemongrass chicken ($11,) and while I don't love spicy, it was one of the best I've ever had. It comes with two small sandwiches and some sauce on the side. Highly recommended. Also ordered a side of the cumin fries ($7,) which were equally delicious. Our service was a bit slow, but think because it was a slow night, they were bare bones on service. Totally fine. The inside of the restaurant isn't massive but there are plenty of tables I'm sure get plenty crowded during peak times. They also have a big window in the front that they open up for sitting when it's nice out. I'd love to come back on a nice sunny day for a drink soon. If anything, the food is enough for me to come back. Dreaming of my next banh mi. read more

We came around 1:50 on a Saturday and were told we'd have a short wait but tables for two would be ready soon. Like clockwork several tables opened up around 2, they moved quickly to clean up all of the tables and get them ready for all who were waiting. They had a buffet option which includes: eggs, bacon, quiche, potato gratin, vegetable gratinée, French toast, salad, bread, ham, cheese, quinoa, quiche, croissants, yogurt, frontal and fruit for $24. The only downside was that the food from the buffet was a bit cold. My partner opted for the buffet getting the quiche, potato gratin, vegetable gratinée, bacon and eggs. He really enjoyed the quiche saying he really felt like he was in France it was very creamy and flavorful. He said he hadn't tasted anything even remotely close to the vegetable gratinée in US before this. After taking a bite myself I can say that it is absolutely delicious- the vegetables are able to shine and the crunch of the cheese on top is just a perfect combination. The steak was juicy and tender, the addition of the rosemary added a nice flavor. The potato gratin was even creamier than the one in the potato, every bite was delicious. The only cons The orange juice is not fresh- Tropicana It's so small that even with only half the restaurant filled it is still a bit loud. Overall 4 stars would definitely come again read more

Simple is a good word to describe this cute little cafe. It serves food with some French/Algerian influences. All the ingredients are fresh and the bread is daily baked in house, delicious! You can even buy some separately. On the pictures, you can admire the Algerian Plate mixing some babaganoush, quinoa and felfla (roasted red pepper). I did not try the brunch yet but I definitively will! read more

Simple Cafe & Resturant lives up to its name; it's a quaint French-Algeria spot, perfect for brunch! The space is shared with a small boutique: The Simple Store. Overall, the staff was friendly and professional and the food came out flawless. I didn't feel the portions were as big as I'm used to for Brunch in Brooklyn, but had no complaints. read more
