We ordered a personal-sized cheese pizza and a fried fish sandwich, both offered at $10 each under the "bites" section of the happy hour menu, and they came out relatively quickly and tasted great. The service was attentive, and the restaurant was spacious and nicely decorated. The dark-but-polished bar vibe is exactly what one would want from a Williamsburg pub. Found this great intimate spot on Bedford Ave & North 11th St. in Williamsburg by accident and was certainly the best accident ever. The Bedford has great ambiance with incredible food and drink menu, however what set this apart from all others in area was their staff. The entire duration each staff made us feel as if we're the only ones there though the place was fairly full. They definitely took much pride with their hospitality showing so much passion while being attentive to all our needs. We initially thought maybe an hour or so for cocktails and small bites turned out to be 3 hours of pure enjoyment. This spot checks off all essentials to being great. I walked in not knowing what I was walking into, it's very hidden and that turned out to be part of its charm. I had a wonderful brunch of tea, eggs, salad, and toast finished with an espresso on the weekend and was so impressed. I came back for Takeaway dinner. The next two nights the service was very attentive and I felt well taken care of. It felt like a European pub and I was in heaven. Came here on a Friday night with a last min reservation for 10 people made on Thursday. They were able to fit us in which was great! This place has a very nice cozy vibe to it. The rustic ambiance really elevates the experience and makes me want to just come back for a drink. I had the pickle back fried chicken sandwich with the old bay fries and a paloma to sip on. It's a cool place overall if you're coming to grab a drink. People working there are super friendly and chat you up. They have fun concoctions like banana old fashioned and a large beverage menu including sangria, beer, wine and quite a few non alcoholic options. I ordered a mac and cheese burger which apparently they're known for, however it's just not my jam. It's very greasy and over seasoned. If you really love American food then you might like it! I also enjoyed the cherry tomato pizza. It had a very thin crust with perfectly baked tomatoes and fresh basil. They offer personal size pies with four slices, as well as larger, shareable 12 inch pies. For dessert, I had the french toast fritters. An order included four fritter balls, which were stuffed with nutella and raspberry jam. The combination of flavors almost tasted like caramel. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup. My only con is that I feel the menu was not great for those like myself who are vegetarian/ pescatarian. I went on a date to the Bedford this past weekend and I had a pretty good time. The restaurant itself is small but it's perfect for a cozy date. If you have a choice in seating I recommend the seats to the right of the entrance up the three stairs in the corner. It's in the cut but you can see the whole restaurant from there. You can also sit next to your person as opposed to across the table. I enjoyed my Hanger steak and fries. Finally a restaurant who knows how to cook steak medium! I loved the chimichurri as a topping. That really set it off. Idk if I'm greedy or what but I still wanted more of it so my date let me order the same meal to go! He also enjoyed his sandwich. Of course I had to try some of his lol it was a little salty but I still I liked it. I'm a toppings girl so I think the aioli sauce with the pickle back slaw gave it the flavor. For drinks, I got the Southerner which was pretty good but my date got a Whisky Sour and THAT was phenomenal. Not on the menu but I loved it better than what I got! We strolled in here as a group of 6 around 7 pm on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The vibe was dimly lit and romantic but not too fancy at the same time. All the dishes we got were great but there were definitely some stand outs. The Mac and cheese burger was yummy but with the "bread" being Mac and cheese it's impossible to hold it like a burger so you have to deconstruct it. I almost wish it was a Mac burger bowl. The mushroom pizza was a favorite as well with very fresh flavor and good seasoning. Finally, the blueberry crumble is a must try- absolutely out of this world! The heat lamp was turned on for us, but it was still pretty chilly. We ordered their mac n cheese burger (comes with fries) and their buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. After ordering the food, it took a long time to come. I could hear the people two tables away complaining that they were starving as well. The food was good and really filling. The mac n cheese burger was really unique and the "buns" were actually mac and cheese. However, towards the end of the meal as I got less hungry, I found the burger and fries to be on the saltier side. When we received the bill, we noticed a $1.60 charge for "non cash fee". We weren't informed of the fee prior to receiving the bill either so we weren't given an option to use cash instead. Overall, this is a decent spot for food with a fairly long wait. read more

Had the plank burger which was super juicy, nothing to complain about because it wasn't anything crazy exciting. The fries were thick but crispy and covered in old bay seasoning. Bedford Plank Burger ( + cheddar cheese , + applewood smoked bacon) - Rating : 60/10 Hanger Steak - Rating : 500/10 Pickle Back Fried Chicken Sandwich - Rating : 9/10 (I wasn't a fan of the pickle-back slaw, it was a bit heavy and overpowering. I scrapped maybe 2-3/4 of the slaw off for an ideal portion, but other than that the chicken sandwich itself was great !) Now I must admit the decor inside is a bit rustic and heavily cloaked in dim lighting, but if that's not your style the outside tables are a great alternative (if the weather permits). As far as customer service goes the staff have always been inviting in a laid back manner. I've only ever dined-in during the early evening and it's been very easy to be seated and served. The garlic bread could have been softer, or fresher. The chicken parm pizza was good, but it literally had a chicken parm in the middle cut in 4 pieces. The entire pizza wasn't covered in chicken, which is what you would expect. The regular cheese pizza was good, but the crust was soft and floppy. You couldn't fold it and eat it.
