I found Sizzle & Crunch searching for salads in the area. The concept here is a great quick serve restaurant. You choose a dish which basically is the type of meat that you want. Today we opted for two plates, or bowls...the the plate and the bowl both come in the same box...so is it a plate, box or bowl? Here's its one in the same. We got the pork chop plate and the pork belly bowl. The pork shop actually comes with pork belly too, so it's a pork combo. Once you choose the meat, the next choice is over rice or salad. So a bed of rice or of chopped greens. Next you choose the toppings which include:cilantro, tomato, cucumber, jalapeño, carrots, more chopped greens, green onion, egg and I think that's it. They then offer you a sauce choice which is either soy sauce blend or fish sauce. Since we got two plates we tried both. We liked both sauces and I actually liked blending the two into one. As for the toppings, they are all very fresh, crisp and tasty. The pork chop is grilled and does have a slight smoky bbq flavor. The pork belly is more of a stewed, slow cooked then sliced meat. Both were great and full of flavor. Overall the portion is definitely good and a great value as a whole, ranging from about $8-$10. My only complaint is that access to the restrooms were cluttered. Then the trash is not well organized and difficult to sort recyclables, compost and general trash. I think for a business based in Seattle, they need to do a better job in that respect. Ok so I tried this place because of a blog post I saw about top bánh mì places in Seattle. It listed this one and another one in U district so I did a taste test. I'd say this was the middle of the road. It was good don't get me wrong but it is a little more $$ than most bánh mì in that area and I didn't really like the bread. The sauce and meat was good. This place is really good. The Vietnamese chipotle description fits it so well. It also gets very busy. The line was about 12-15 deep the whole time I was there around 7pm. They need to work on their supply a bit. They didn't have the cold cuts for their special bahn mi when I was there, along with no ice. They did have plenty of that green aioli though! Seating is tight and not super comfortable, so I would suggest take out, though the plates are heavy and I would worry about dropping it! I hope they open more locations. read more

Request for staff to wear masks and gloves at all times! My wife and I are fans of the food here- it's really fantastic and delicious. We are selectively doing takeout during the COVID19 period so we were excited to get food this week. However we were very disappointed to find that the staff preparing our order and asking us what toppings we'd like (therefore in close and constant speaking proximity to the food being packaged) were not wearing masks and at the counter not wearing gloves (to cover the food and package it). We are keen to support local businesses at this time and love this place but feel their practices are not the same as other restaurants.
