This week I hadn't been feeling well and decided to order Shoyu on Fire and extra chicken pieces - medium level spice with everything, except the egg. The broth was fantastic - flavorful, spicy, and a depth that I could taste despite the onset of a cold. The following evening, I ordered more and doubled my order. It was disappointing to see that the second order did not include the portion of chili paste in either of the bowls. The chili paste adds more flavor and depth that I am accustomed to with rich ramen broth. It felt very disappointing to have this essential ingredient & flavor missing, especially due to how terrible I already felt. I went to Silverlake Ramen in Long Beach for dinner and I can say it was a 10/10 experience. I got the Classic Ramen with noodles and spinach. (I am basic) The ramen was pretty good, the broth and noodles are never a hit or miss but I can say the broth kinda reminds me of a milky creamy taste. Also got Gyozas for appetizers it was also a 10/10, crunchy and juicy, cooked the right amount. Delicious Curry Rice Bowl!! My boyfriend got the Large Curry Rice Bowl with Tofu, and I got the Regular Curry Rice Bowl with Chicken Karaage. We both thought the Chicken Karaage was better than the Tofu since the Tofu was not fried and was almost the same texture as the curry. The Chicken Karaage offers a crunchy texture to the curry! The Pickled Cucumbers were delicious, they look like they were made in the restaurant because I have never seen Pickled Cucumbers that look like that. The employees were great! They were very kind, they checked in on us a couple times, and they were very attentive of other customers. The restaurant is very clean! The table we were sat at was still a bit wet, but it was fine. We wiped it up. There was plenty of seating inside and outside! There were booths, indoor tables, and outdoor tables. There was a good amount of people there on a weekday in the afternoon. It wasn't too noisy or too quiet. I would come here again! I did get a mini tummy ache after finishing. But it was very minor. The broth was so rich that it was probably too much for me to handle on an empty stomach. In town for a business trip and decided to try out this spot. Got a table for 1, and I'm not sure if it had anything to do with this but service was lackluster. When I walked in, the two staff members at the front didn't acknowledge me at all until another server eventually asked if I had been helped. Then, when placing my order, the server seemed distracted and not particularly engaged. Later on, a different employee dropped off my soda by setting it down rather abruptly, which felt a bit careless. (Literally felt like a drive by) I then ordered extra noodles, and I watched how these noodles dangled off the plate as my server walked towards my table and literally dropped it off like this (see image).
