We were seated fairly quickly for a Saturday morning. The hostess put us (2 people) in a corner booth and left menus and silverware. After 10-15 minutes passed, we had reviewed the menu exhaustively. No attention from a server. Parties beside us were seated and had orders taken. I do hope we weren't ignored because one of us was wearing a "March for our Lives" tee shirt. We came for breakfast, the host checked the computer to seat us away from the window, I said we wanted a window seat, therefore we got a window seat. Such hospitality (sarcasm) Then we ordered breakfast, my omelette came out warm, not hot and my toast was cold. The filling on the southwest black bean and salsa seemed a bit commercial and tasted commercial grade. The egg consistency seemed as if it came out of a pre mixed egg solution, measured and scooped and poured. My wife's omelette came with home fries, decent but not special. The ice coffee came with a few ice cubes on top of mildly cool ice coffee, I had to order a glass of ice to turn my ice coffee into an ice coffee. I asked the server for Tabasco sauce when we placed the order, it was not at the table when the order came, the waitress was no where to be found, I needed to get up and ask the counter people for Tabasco, then I was given another hot sauce, while I repeated I asked for Tabasco, while one person comments, there is no Tabasco , while the other person finds me a bottle of Tabasco. Then we finished our omelettes only to wait for the waitress. Again, I had to get up for my bill, while they located the waitress. I figure that the disrespect for the clients comes down to bad training and a formula approach to Greek style dinner. Oh did I mention the acoustics are horrendous, I could tell you about the "deck" the next table was talking about and the "football league play" of the other table. Additionally, the neon/fluorescent lights are a bit uncomfortable/creepy as well. This formula approach certainly did not work for us. A real Greek diner has a family feeling, this family was certainly not greek. It's hard to enjoy a place that treats customers with disrespect. read more

So, as I waited for some take out at the counter, I watched the cook, "Marvin," with plastic gloves on, open and close the microwave, then handle some utensils, then grab a hand-full of fries and put them on a plate, then open the refrigerator door.... Yuck! I just kept thinking, how was my food handled? The poor person who's going to unknowingly eat those fries! I do NOT understand why the review for this place is a 3.5 on average, when this is sooo good. In terms of reviews, I am specific to why it requires a 5 or a 1, based on the places. Food: Quantity: Really good portions. Our son loves their food more than many other restaurants in the area. Quality: Really good quality too. Their shakes are amazing, their food is awesome. Presentation: Good presentation for a diner. I would expect a diner to not worry too much on presentation and that was good as well. People: Guest/Customers: Very inviting. This place is so much fun and you get quite a bit of different people here. I've been here on dates also been here and friends and always seem to have a good time. It will be a tough decision figure out what to get as there are a lot of items on the menu. Once you figure out what you're going to get I'm sure you will enjoy and will taste quite good. i go to silver diner at least once a month and it's a great place to go to with friends. i'm only giving it three stars though since i've had issues with the burgers being rather flavorless, but the breakfast food is usually good. also, the service is a little spotty; i've had this one server several times before and every single time she takes forever to come take our order and bring the check (one time she didn't come for 20 minutes after checking in on us shortly after getting food so i had to get up and ask for the check and then she took another 10 minutes to return and bring us the checks and never returned so i had to go to the front to pay and never saw her again). i know it's not fine dining or anything, but service could really be improved read more

Well, it's been a while since we've been to a Silver Diner, but the last time we went there, the menu was good, the food was good, and the service was better. When did the menu change? It's horrible now! When I think of Silver Diner, I think of good hearty comfort food, not organic, vegetarian, small servings that aren't good. The menu is also so convoluted that I may have missed things, and it was tiring just looking at it. I looked at the menu, and was craving a good classic, but I ended up ordering the Reuben because everything was either organic or vegetarian and I just don't care for that. I know they taste the same for the most part, but I'm at a diner, so I just don't want to think about it. As for my Reuben, the bread was crispy on top, but the bottom was soggy and mixed with too much thousand island, it was not good at all. The fries were also a bit greasy and I could not eat them all. The coleslaw was pretty good... it was different. My oldest son didn't like his All American breakfast because he got a small serving of eggs, the biscuit was just OK because it was a bit hard, and the potatoes were a bit over cooked. My youngest son did like his silver dollar pancakes, but he was still hungry afterwards because the servings are on the small size for an 8 year old who plays a lot of sports. The adult menu would have been fine for him as small as those servings were. My oldest son and my wife both ordered sausage links and the server told us that they needed to be cooked for a while, but he didn't know how long, so he wanted to know if they wanted something else. Since he didn't know how long the sausage needed to cook, he was going back to ask the manager and the sausages came out. He needs a clue on how long items cook. Also, he brought me a flat Coke, that I could tell was flat by looking at it. Also, my son's lemonade was extra bitter and you could tell by looking at it too. We didn't feel our waiter really knew what he was doing at all. Overall, I was frustrated the minute I looked at the menu, the service could have been better, the food was sub-par and definitely a down-grade from the old menu, and just not an enjoyable experience. We are definitely crossing The Silver Diner off of our places to eat. read more

Even has the jukeboxes on the tables that play music through the whole diner. My cousin recommended Silver Diner to my girlfriend and I for breakfast and I ordered for five people. The bill came out to a reasonable cost and went to pick up my order, however; when I got home we come to find out that one item from the order was missing. I double checked with everyone to see if anyone had the eggs benedict order but the item wasn't in either of the two bags. I went back to the restaurant with my receipt and let the hostess know of my missing item, the manager then comes in to assist me with the missing item and talked with the kitchen staff. I waited in the lobby area for a few minutes before the manager returned to me, letting me know that her kitchen staff assured her that the missing item was in one of the two bags. I politely explained that wasn't the case and she insisted on taking the word of her staff and insinuating that I was lying about my missing item. She informed me that they would remake the item but that it was a one-time courtesy and that next time I need to bring back all the items in the order for her to confirm a missing item or wrong order. I received the missing item a few minutes later and she re-iterated their policy, I assured her that the item wasn't in my initial order but she seemed to not take me at my word. I understand mistakes happen in a popular establishment but I don't appreciate customer blaming for the short comings of the staff. The food was decent but not good enough to doing further business with that establishment ever again. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Let me start out by saying this, not all Silver Diners suck. But this one definitely does. The WORST experience in a dining atmosphere EVER. My friend is too modest to write this but rest assured, she is just as disgusted by our visit as I am. We came in a group of about 20. So yes, I understand mistakes will be made. I've been a server. Anyway, my friend ordered the Salmon ceaser. The fish was still raw on the inside. I told her "they take accuracy here seriously, so tell them you're not satisfied". I figured it would help the kitchen to pay more attention and she could then actually get something to eat. So instead of the fish, she orders a steak. Mind you at this time she is thinking she will be paying for one if not two meals. She just wanted to eat. By the time her steak comes (she wanted a medium cook) we were about done with our meals. She was given a steak knife but did not have a fork because they took it away with her salad. The manager comes over to apologize and make a big scene for himself about how sorry he is that not one but two meals were messed up and blah blah blah. He gives out the complimentary meals. We all say thank you and my friend asks not only the server who had come back around finally but the manager if she can please get a fork to eat her second meal of the night. Server says he will bring one. About TEN minutes pass and STILL NO FORK. She cuts open her steak and it is medium rare at best. I get the cooks are trying to be speedy to get her second dinner to her but come on. So we all start to get our checks and she cuts a piece of the steak with her knife and eats it with her hands and it tastes raw. I know this because I tasted it. So lets fast forward. She goes to the manager one last time. Orders one last meal in a last ditch effort. Some cod or something. It doesn't matter because as she goes to leave with her THIRD meal, the manager chases after her, brings her back as she is leaving and DEMANDS SHE EITHER PAY FOR HER MEAL OR SURRENDER HER COUPON. Are you kidding me???? She did not want three meals. She wanted one to eat with her friends while we celebrated a birthday. I'm so appalled I don't want to come back here, she doesn't want to come back and our friends don't want to come back. Then the Manager has the nerve to accuse her of lying about not having a fork. SHE DIDNT EAT ANYTHING. read more

I had a lot of breakfasts here last weekend, and they were all satisfying, if greasy. Veggie omelets, veggie griddles ... and I noticed (but didn't sample) that they had veggie sausage on the menu! We like it here. Good menu variety, staff is friendly and efficient. I would like to suggest they put their nutrition info online. I have a heart condition and need to plan around sodium. They do have the sodium info in a binder in the restaurant, but you have to ask for it, the font is very small and faded and hard to read, and it is overall not very convenient. That being said, there are a few lower sodium options on the menu which is uncommon in most restaurants. read more

I can't believe that this place only has three Yelp stars!! I absolutely adore Silver Diner; it is my go to place anytime we want to go out for breakfast or have anyone in town that we want to impress. The diner is clean and the wait staff is always so friendly and prompt. I haven't had a single thing on their menu that isn't completely delicious - my favorites are their omelettes and their goat cheese bruschetta. There are an abundance of healthy options on their menus and my kids love the fact that they can always get fresh strawberries there. If you haven't tried the Silver Diner I strongly suggest you get out for breakfast tomorrow. read more
