Big step up from the Silver Diner of days gone by. Fresh-local-organic offerings and a totally revamped menu have brought Silver Diner back into my dining rotation. read more

My cousin recommended Silver Diner to my girlfriend and I for breakfast and I ordered for five people. The bill came out to a reasonable cost and went to pick up my order, however; when I got home we come to find out that one item from the order was missing. I double checked with everyone to see if anyone had the eggs benedict order but the item wasn't in either of the two bags. I went back to the restaurant with my receipt and let the hostess know of my missing item, the manager then comes in to assist me with the missing item and talked with the kitchen staff. I waited in the lobby area for a few minutes before the manager returned to me, letting me know that her kitchen staff assured her that the missing item was in one of the two bags. I politely explained that wasn't the case and she insisted on taking the word of her staff and insinuating that I was lying about my missing item. She informed me that they would remake the item but that it was a one-time courtesy and that next time I need to bring back all the items in the order for her to confirm a missing item or wrong order. I received the missing item a few minutes later and she re-iterated their policy, I assured her that the item wasn't in my initial order but she seemed to not take me at my word. I understand mistakes happen in a popular establishment but I don't appreciate customer blaming for the short comings of the staff. The food was decent but not good enough to doing further business with that establishment ever again. read more

I go here almoat every day for lunch. The woman who seats me every day is always cheery. Sometimes the servers are hit or miss, but I always ask for Harry, who's great at his job, super nice, and has the added advantage of being Bruno Mars' doppelganger. 10/10 would come back (obviously, since in do.) read more

Silver Diner has really stepped up their game. I'm not sure if this is something that is going on at all Silver Diners... but I was happy to see that they were working with local farmers and such to bring healthier options to their menu. I'd pick SD over an IHOP or other chain any day now that I know they're doing this! Good work. read more

We had a terrific breakfast with delightful service from Maria. French toast yummy. Waffle airy but crispy. Big mug of coffee. Neat old-time Juke box at each table. They use locally sourced products. Will return! read more

I was here the other night and it was the last time. This place was already really low on my list due to the service, but I kept coming back because it's really close to my house and they are open late. The last time I visited, we walked in and were seated and our drink orders were taken. After sitting for a while my boyfriend makes this face and told me not to turn around and of course, I did not listen. When I turned around there was a cockroach crawling on the trim of my seat. I just about screamed and ran out. I'm absolutely disgusted by this particular location. I will not be returning. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Let me start out by saying this, not all Silver Diners suck. But this one definitely does. The WORST experience in a dining atmosphere EVER. My friend is too modest to write this but rest assured, she is just as disgusted by our visit as I am. We came in a group of about 20. So yes, I understand mistakes will be made. I've been a server. Anyway, my friend ordered the Salmon ceaser. The fish was still raw on the inside. I told her "they take accuracy here seriously, so tell them you're not satisfied". I figured it would help the kitchen to pay more attention and she could then actually get something to eat. So instead of the fish, she orders a steak. Mind you at this time she is thinking she will be paying for one if not two meals. She just wanted to eat. By the time her steak comes (she wanted a medium cook) we were about done with our meals. She was given a steak knife but did not have a fork because they took it away with her salad. The manager comes over to apologize and make a big scene for himself about how sorry he is that not one but two meals were messed up and blah blah blah. He gives out the complimentary meals. We all say thank you and my friend asks not only the server who had come back around finally but the manager if she can please get a fork to eat her second meal of the night. Server says he will bring one. About TEN minutes pass and STILL NO FORK. She cuts open her steak and it is medium rare at best. I get the cooks are trying to be speedy to get her second dinner to her but come on. So we all start to get our checks and she cuts a piece of the steak with her knife and eats it with her hands and it tastes raw. I know this because I tasted it. So lets fast forward. She goes to the manager one last time. Orders one last meal in a last ditch effort. Some cod or something. It doesn't matter because as she goes to leave with her THIRD meal, the manager chases after her, brings her back as she is leaving and DEMANDS SHE EITHER PAY FOR HER MEAL OR SURRENDER HER COUPON. Are you kidding me???? She did not want three meals. She wanted one to eat with her friends while we celebrated a birthday. I'm so appalled I don't want to come back here, she doesn't want to come back and our friends don't want to come back. Then the Manager has the nerve to accuse her of lying about not having a fork. SHE DIDNT EAT ANYTHING. read more

Classic diner food. A new, clean place, with a large menu of basic food. Nothing special - just food - like a true diner should be. read more

Delicious is all I can say. Do not mind waiting in line when they are crowded no problem for me. Food is nice and fresh and the service is sincere. I go their at least twice a month. I highly recommend their "Baby Feta with Mushrooms" which includes; tomatoes, toasted bagel, cream cheese, served with seasoned home fries. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. read more

We have gone to this silver diner many times before and it's been several years since last time. My husband & I will never go back again! The menu was nothing about diner food! Waitress was attentive. Bring back the patty melt! Get back to diner menu or remove diner from your name. In a side note a great diner? Try Blue and White Diner on market st (rt9) martinsvburg, WV! An enjoyable drive through the wine country! read more

We like it here. Good menu variety, staff is friendly and efficient. I would like to suggest they put their nutrition info online. I have a heart condition and need to plan around sodium. They do have the sodium info in a binder in the restaurant, but you have to ask for it, the font is very small and faded and hard to read, and it is overall not very convenient. That being said, there are a few lower sodium options on the menu which is uncommon in most restaurants. read more

Looooove their food! My favorite is the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries!!! Or chicken tenders!! Always fresh, hot, and fast!

Ate there with my two daughters while taking one of them on a college visit in the area. Very polite service, and clean attractive establishment. But the food was overpriced and not very good tasting. Really was not traditional diner food in my opinion. I wouldn't go back. read more

This place became a habit, fast. A co-worker recommended it, and I'm glad we stopped in. The atmosphere is excellent. Bring quarters for the jukebox. read more

Very interesting place, fun decor. We tried the Veggie scramble, bison burger w fries & small sundaes. Service was professional & courteous. Plenty of parking in lot. read more

With all the dietary restrictions people have these days, its hard to find a restaurant that can accommodate everyone. Silver Diner is an affordable restaurant that can do this. They have food for meat lovers, vegans, vegetarians, etc., Also the prices are pretty affordable with flexible hours. read more

Umm. It's ok. We've been here several times and the food and service have been a little spotty. Two visits ago my husband's breakfast potatoes were ice cold - they basically looked like a pile of chopped, day old boiled potatoes. The rest of our food was ok. Our second visit the service was snail's pace slow. I would still go to Silver Diner again but my bar wouldn't be super high. read more

Fantastic restaurant! I can't say anything negative. They use fresh food from local farmers. They have an extensive menu and if want something that isn't in the menu just ask! They'll make it for you. Wait staff if efficient and courteous. Ambiance is quaint, but then I love the old fashion diners. The place is popular and you may have wait for a table. We only waited five mins. What a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This is our default place for a restaurant. Wide selection of food, and very good quality. Waitstaff is excellent, and we have never had a bad experience. If you are looking for a good place to go for the family, we highly recommend the Silver Diner. read more

Poor service and mediocre food makes Silver Diner a destination to skip. Weekday breakfast service got my kid's order wrong then tried to charge me for it twice. And it took nearly an hour and a half. There are a dozen better breakfast choices in the Reston/Town Center area. read more

The dishes we chose were consistently great. We love the roasted veggie salad topped with perfectly cooked salmon (so moist and rich tasting), roasted veggie sandwich (yea, there is a theme - we love our veggies especially if they are roasted!), and the bison huevos rancheros (very flavorful and fulfilling). For breakfast, anything with their crispy bacon is usually a winner. However, upon looking at other tables, I note that their fish and chips seem a bit sad looking with a few thin strips of dried up looking fish. read more

Not bad for diner food. They use a lot of local and organic ingredients. I tried the coconut quinoa pancakes, they were really mushy and tasted more like quinoa then pancakes. However their version of bison huevos rancheros were pretty good, very flavorful and healthy. Husband had a waffle with eggs and uncured bacon, and he said it was good. The service was friendly and quick. For $40 for two with coffee it was a fair price. We would return. read more

Food was super tasty. Had the imperial crab eggs Benedict. Orange juice was lovely. Waited a long time to be seated but that just another sign as to how good their food are. read more

Amazjng- firefly farm omelette with goat cheese, fresh basil, and balsamic tomato. Healthy substitutes available which is nice. Pricey but fresh local produce which makes it worth it. Comfy booth feel, friendly service, read more

It's not 100% consistent but, in a pinch I will eat there or get take out. The mozarella with tomato sandwich is pretty good, the new dessert that features pretzels, and vanilla ice cream and peanut butter is a big fail. It's not very interesting, and I could have thrown it all together at home for less. The restaurant atmosphere is okay but sometimes parents bring their screeching brats, and we've asked not to be sat by them and sometimes the host still sits us next to them. That is a tough one. I really wish the servers could tell the parents to calm down their brats. I don't see how that would be too much of an imposition. I prefer to eat my meal in peace, or relative peace, lol. read more

Wow, honestly what a great breakfast this morning! Love the breakfast menu. The spinach, feta, mushroom omelet was fantastic served with a toasted bagel and home fries made my morning. Maria was working the front area and is so friendly making her rounds. She ensures everyone has what they need and is one of the great people working at our local Silver Diner. It's a fun place to meet great, friendly people who are eager to make your visit the best it can be. read more

Awesome restaurant, it gets busy and for a good reason the meals are great. Maria manages the counter during the week and it seems like poetry in motion. She stays focused making sure all goes well for my visit. Maria manages a busy counter and the diners seem to enjoy her service as she is the best. Just ask for her. The meal came out as ordered hot and very tasty, It is always a great place to get hot pancakes and with added blue berries well it doesn't get much better except when one adds the pure maple syrup, OUTSTANDING! Pricing is good especially when you join the Eat Well Do Well club, no charge for the club, and your visit earns points for each visit. The food prepared and served at the Silver Diner is fresh and tastes better than other restaurants serving comparable meals. It is the tops for me! read more

I went to Silver Diner on may 1st to have a nice breakfast with a old friend that I haven't seen her for 16 years. Her kids wanted pancakes so we decided to go to Silver Diner. I ordered two kids chocolate shakes, pancakes and old standby. The food was great but at the end when the server (Celsa Me) dropped the check I realized that she charged for a regular shakes when I ordered kids size. Then I asked her about the price and she was so offensive about it saying that she Order the regular size and I had to pay for it. I told her that it was ok then because my friend and her kids where uncomfortable after that. So I paid for our check. I left her $15.00 cash tip and nothing on my credit card. But when she closed the check she added $10.00 more on my credit card for her tip so my original check was $62.95 I left $15.00 cash tip and she added $10.00 more at the end. When I check my bank statement I saw a charge for $72.95 and I was surprised that on top of $15.00 cash she changed $10.00 more. She made $25.00 on a $62.95 tab. I don't understand how this restaurant works but I know that you CANNOT add any tip to a credit card if not authorized by the guest. I went to talk to the manager on may 5th and I told her what happened then she said that they don't have the closed checks after 3 days but she went to check to the office. When she went to her office and try to find the cash report and my check this server ( Celsa Me) came up to me and said " What are you doing here? I told her that she charged more money on top of her cash tip and then she said " how do you know that I was your server it was probably my sister" I saw her twin sister but I'm sure it wasn't her. I told the manager again that she came up to me and the manager apologized for her. The manager also told me that they would do a full refund on my credit card which that was not true. I called corporate after that and they also told me that they will look for that check. They refunded my $10.00 when the manager told me that it was a full refund. I just wanted to let people know that sometimes if things are not going well in a restaurant specially with the server please pay cash so you don't have this bad experience. I love Silver Diner I will always go back but not to this location again. read more

The service and food are all excellent. This is the best diner I have ever been to. I highly recommend it! They have coin-operated, old-fashioned jukeboxes on every table that are great for children and adults. The food is very fresh and the recipes are unique. My favorite so far is the Veggie Huevos Rancheros. They have plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. read more

A notch better than pancake house. Good choice of greasy food. Good service and good location for a quick bite.

Been here a few times. Good for a quick breakfast fix. omlettes were ok but decent portions. Burgers were average at best. Wings were no good. Like the pankacekes and french toast. Their breakfast options are the feature here I'd say. read more

biscuit: very good. i made an egg sandwich with 2 eggs over medium and a bagel. it didn't work well. i think it's because of the bagel, which is just ok, maybe a little better than a grocery store bagel, maybe not. not worth $2.49. not nearly as tasty as einstein bros. the egg sandwich at Panera Bread is very good. prices: good for biscuits and eggs. read more

Silver Diner has come a long way. First, the host is very nice and so are the waiters. The food is the part that has improved tremendously. The warm salad has great complex flavors and seems to be healthy too. I had the veggie Huevos Ranchero today and it was great. Meat was substituted with a black bean and quinoa mix that fooled me. It was excellent to say the least. I'm not even a vegetarian pansy (love my meat), but I liked these creative dishes. If you want an old fashion burger or omelet, they have that too. read more

Great blueberry pancakes, and exceptional service! (Thanks Zach!) The food was delivered anazingly fast... And the restaurant was nearly full as well. Hats off to to the management & cooks! read more

Swing by to grab dinner on a weeknight with a coworker. From the start we had great service. My coworker ordered the steak. It's arrived just as he ordered it but was about one third the size in the picture. For $18 it's better to hold out for Prime Rib night around the corner. The menu left me struggling a bit to find comfort food with minimal risk. I chose the beef pot pie which came out looking artfully like beef stew with a crust on the side. The potatoes were on the bottom. This arrangement reduced odds of scorching my mouth. However I could have had a shepherds pie down the street for $5 less that was just as tasty. Three stars for tasty food a bit overpriced and great service. read more

Three adults and two kids went here around 11am for brunch. We were seated immediately, and the waiter(Zach) took very good care of us. We ordered two burgers, which were excellent, one kids meal and one huevos rancheros. The food is fresh, and very tasty. The coffee is excellent as well. We are definitely going back. read more
