The food was just okay nothing to rave about nothing to go back for in my opinion. It was edible but nothing rememberable. Came here for lunch and ordered chicken tenders. They say on the menu that they are hand-battered for $18. Came with only 4 chicken strips and you could tell that they came from a frozen chicken bag from the store and were not fresh. I have eaten here before and they usually come with 6 pieces of chicken that were hand battered. NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Don't come here and expect fresh food for a good price. read more

To start off, we came here in the summer and it was a good meal. I can understand that they are probably understaffed but it was a mix of everything with our visit. After a long travel day we chose to come here. Service wasn't good, we got a total of 6 items and 4 out of those 6 were ice cold and so very very bland. My first visit to Jackson and my first stop, this place is great. Really cool atmosphere, great ambiance and very friendly staff. They welcome you without a reservation and seat you right away. The food is great, very fresh. I tried the chicken pot pie and it was worth every penny, Especially on a cold winter day. The beer is ice cold and tap system seems well set up as it was the perfect head on the beer. I watch as they meticulously cleaned every booth after every customer, and they checked on me every chance they had. This is a must stop anytime you're in Jackson. read more

I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken. For my two sides, garlic mashed potatoes and a side salad (additional $3). The salad was delicious - cucumber slices, sliced tomatoes, diced onions, cheese, etc. The waitress came back out to let me know they were out of garlic mashed potatoes, so I ordered rice and beans instead. That's typical right now with everything going on, so no big deal. When my entrée was brought out, everything looked delicious and I was excited to have a good meal after hiking all day. However, I could barely cut through the chicken using the knife they provided. The batter on the chicken was like a rock and had a slight burnt taste. The meat itself (without the extremely crunchy crust) was also very tough and chewy, as if it had set in a warmer all day and dried out. The rice and beans were as expected. My fiance ordered a 10-ounce Skirt Steak with roasted garlic and rosemary butter (additional $2). For the two sides, french fries and rice and beans. The sides were good - fries were crispy and delicious. However, the steak was terrible. It was like chewing bubblegum for an hour, and very tough to cut. Needless to say only half of it was eaten and that was simply because we were both starving after hiking all day and skipping lunch. As much as we wanted to love this place and the food, we unfortunately left tremendously disappointed with our $54+ dinner. The only excuse we can give: we visited on a Sunday night 1.5 hours before they closed for the night. I guess our advice would be to get there earlier and hopefully the food will be better for you... good luck! read more

Our waiter didn't seem happy and I'm a bit worried for her she may have had a bad day but she defentily had a temper. Someone put a earring in her nose and it was big I feel so bad. I asked for The Cesar salad and they gave a big literally everything was cheese I barley even saw lettuce there was enough croutons but it wasn't good. With the exception of the hour and a half wait on a Sunday evening this place was GREAT! We had the Fettuccine Alfredo and a Giant Slice of pizza, bath were amazing and had flavor. We sat inside by all of the TV's during a hockey playoff game and our booth had its own tv so we weren't straining to see the large one. The waitress was happy and fun for one who was very busy and it was a late evening. She was very efficient and mentioned a few times where our order was in line. Stopped here for a quick bite and a drink because I was trying to get in as many Diners, Drive'Ins and Dives as I could while in Jackson, WY on a girls mini vacation. We each had a glass of white wine at the bar and decided to share the very tasty Sidewinder homemade pretzel. We didn't add any pizza toppings and although that would have been good, too, we did enjoy it plain. The cheese, marinara, and ranch dipping sauces complimented the pretzel perfectly! The theming of Sidewinders is on point. The name is a play on the munitions used by USMC Airman (of which we understood the owner is). The sports pictures were awesome, particularly the ones of the Yankees and Muhammed Ali. Our waitress (Evelyn I think) was great. I had the chicken pot pie and French onion soup, because those were the two things that were featured on the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and they were both major disappointments. The soup came out Luke warm at best and wasn't particularly good at all. The chicken pot pie was very bland and disappointing. The crust they put on the top was soggy and didn't have any flavor. The sauce also had practically no flavor. Normally, pot pie has some vegetables in it. This one was stuffed with mushrooms, a couple pieces of carrot and chicken. There was plenty of chicken, but again, flavorless. The service was satisfactory. The waitress brought the food and refilled our drinks once. Nothing special, but did get the job done. Much better than the food, at least. I really wish I would've saved the money and just grabbed a sub next door to our hotel. read more

The pretzel that was advertised on DDD (note I did not see the episode) is not really a pretzel. It's more of a pizza crust with marinara sauce. It's more intended to be a calzone. They ask you what toppings you want to put in. Also note, I was a dufus and said no fillings because I thought it was a normal pretzel. So take that for what you will, but it is definitely not a typical pretzel appetizer The chicken pot pie was not good in my opinion. It was very bland and really didn't have any distinct flavors. I've had better CPP's before. I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone. THAT BEING SAID: the service we received was excellent and quick. There are probably better items we could've ordered. We were traveling through Jackson on our way to Yellowstone and needed something to eat. I used handy dandy google for a quick food near me search, lucked out when we picked Sidewinders. The spinach artichoke dip will be something I crave until my next trip to Jackson, cowboy mac n cheese was amazing, and so was the Cajun pasta. Highly recommend for anyone in the area. read more

My group was visiting Jackson Hole for skiing and Sidewinders was recommended to us. My first impression of Sidewinders was that it was a homey bar and grill. They had seating at the bar, small tables, booths, and large U booths. They initially offered us to sit at a small booth but asked if we wanted the larger one. The front house was very responsive and accommodating. The menu was was well organized with food for many different diets. They have salads, soups, meats, and pasta. They also have a large beer, wine, and cocktail selection. I ordered the Mac and cheese. The specialty with their Mac is that you can add a protein; I added carne asada. When the food came out they did mess up one of our orders (wrong side with a sandwich). But besides that slight mix up, and delayed drink refills, the food was amazing and the service was pleasant. I gave it a 4/5 due to order mix up and slow drink refills. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Jackson or the surrounding area because of the great food and decent prices. 5 meals and several drinks for less than $200. read more

Sidewinders is a super place to eat and have a beer in a frosty, ice-cold glass. We had lunch--nachos are loaded and easily fill two people and would be a great appetizer for four or five. I had French onion soup, gruyere cheese melted in broiler and crispy around the edges--not too salty--de-lish! I also had the gyoza with gingery, sweet & spicy--I believe--aioli. These were great! Try them! Say yes! Fries were crispy; we all enjoyed our food. Service was a tad slow, but the food was worth it. Lastly, the huge airplane models suspended from the ceiling and homage to US aviators and military is notable and appreciated--and great for decor! (I am giving 4 stars because I feel I would have to explore entrees more to give 5.) read more

My family of 8 came in because of a huge recommendation from a family member. After waiting an hour and forty five minutes we got sat. I bought my family some drinks while we waited. They had no alcohol and were expensive. Our waiter was nice but not attentive to us. I had to flag him down for multiple things such as another drink or honey mustard. When food finally came out, around two hours, it was cold and not good. Pizza was cold salmon was dry. We understand the understaffing and long waits but we want hot good food for our time. The best thing about this place was it has a Marine owner and the pretzel came out hot and fast. read more

My husband and I were parked at an RV park in West Yellowstone and decided to ride our Harley through the park down into Jackson to stay at a hotel for the night. By the time we got there and settled after a long day, we had to find a place to eat. We picked Sidewinders as it was featured on the show, Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. There was a long wait so we sat at the bar. The chicken pot pie was just as good as stated on the show and the French onion soup was out of this world. I ordered the salmon and was disappointed. It was over cooked and dry. I don't think this is a place for grilled salmon as everything else coming out of the kitchen and being served around us looked delicious! But what made our experience most enjoyable were the employees, Shayna and Cory (not sure if I spelled their names correctly). Shayna was super attentive and friendly, and never let our glasses go empty. Cory was the server in the bar area and as a team they helped each other and provided impeccable service. And being a local, Cory even gave us a better way to travel back to west Yellowstone on the Harley. It ended up being a beautiful ride! In a day in age where employees are hard to come by, and excellent ones at best, they made our experience an excellent one! Sidewinders is lucky to have them. Side note: I would have given 4 stars because of my salmon, but know for a fact they would have taken it back and changed it for me had I said something, so therefore 5 stars it is!! read more
