Great experience buying a spa at Sensible Spas in Livermore. Bill, the owner, showed my Mom (who wanted to purchase a new spa) many of the spas at all different price points but he quickly discovered that function and fit was most important to her, given she and I are both not very tall so many seats and lounges do not fit us very well. The spa he narrowed down to sell her was not the high end luxury spa with all the bells and whistles but one where the seat and lounge contours were scaled to our height range. Mom didn't care about the fancy features of the newest spas and Bill was excellent in figuring out quickly what was important to her. He didn't get the biggest sale out of the deal but he really listened to what we said, our actions in climbing in the spas - sitting backwards in the lounges, and our conversations while moving around the spas. My husband and I purchased a spa from Sensible Spa in April 2025. We really didn't know much about spas. This was our first spa purchase. We went to the Spring Home show in Pleasanton. We first met Sean who was great. He informed us about the different spas and was nice. We then met Bill (the owner) who was also very informative. Bill encouraged us to sit in the spas to see which one was the most comfortable. Neither Sean or Bill were pushy salespeople. You could tell they love what they do. We ended up purchasing a spa (good price) that day. We had to have a cement pad poured for the spa and also an electrical line had to be installed. Bill referred both people (cement and electrician) to us. They were wonderful. It was like a one stop shopping store. They pretty much took care of everything. I think what impressed me the most is when Bill said if I ever have any problem with the spa to call him on his cell phone. This company has incredible service. I would recommend them to anyone!! I bought a new hot tub from Sensible Spas in April of 2017. I was looking for a model with specific dimensions that Costco no longer had, 84x91, an Aquaterra Chesapeake. Sensible Spas had a Costco return of this model that was advertised on Craiglist. I drove to the store to see it, and it was indistinguishable from new. I bought it the same day. I had a fair amount of prep work to do, as my previous built-in hot tub had to be cut into pieces to remove it, a new tile floor had to be built on my deck, and a new electrical conduit had to be run. Over the next month, Bill and Debbie Franks patiently answered every possible question I had about the delivery and installation processes. Both went seamlessly. Unlike Costco which delivers hot tub to the curb and does not do installation, by purchasing from Sensible Spas, I ended up having my hot tub working on the delivery date. In the last 5 years, several issues developed with the hot tub - one with the lifter, one with LEDs, several with the Bluetooth audio system, and it also needed a new cover. Sensible was always there for me to provide great service and take care of it all, both in and out of warranty. I couldn't recommend this outfit more. This review is long overdue. read more

I decided to purchase a spa from Sensible Spas last weekend. They delivered it the next day to my house in San Jose, and that evening it was up and running. There was a little leak coming from underneath, and they drove all the way out to San Jose the next day to address it. They had to empty the tub to tighten a jet underneath, but they filled it back up, and it was back in action. The only thing that could've been better was the price. The day after I bought it, the same exact model went on sale at Home Depot for $300 less than I paid, but delivery would've been a month out, and I wouldn't have gotten the A+ service that Sensible Spas has given me, so I'm not too upset about it :) read more

Genuine, honest, forthcoming, and informative. Sensible Spas inventory is plentiful with a wide variety of options. Bill recommended an electrician named Mario for necessary electrical work that we needed to have done prior to install and he did great work and was reasonably priced. And I don't know, but it's pretty cool that the shop owner himself showed up on the date of delivery/install, worked with his crew, and went through everything with us himself. I ordered a New Spa Cover from them. It took about 10 weeks to get, no fault of theirs. Manufacturer and shipping problems. They kept me updated as time went one. I checked with other companies and the covers were more expensive and still not available for 8 to 12 weeks. As soon as the cover came in they notified me right away. I was hoping the company would TRY to make amends for their bad behaviour but, of course, they did not. Their response was typical of the service I received so far. Let's break their response to my review on yelp down and make it more accurate: "I really don't think all this anger and harsh words are over getting your hot tub cleaned. There must be something else going on. (I'm going to deflect from the main issue and not address the actual problem and make up some alternate narrative to deflect from the truth and evade responsibility). I have never gotten any complaints about my tech on cleaning a hot tub and he has been in the hot tub business for 18 years.(I'm going to again delegitimize the complaint, not address it or apologize or accept any responsibility. Just gaslight and deny it could even happen based on my tech's reputation.) Can't make everyone happy in this world as much as you try. (I'm going to pretend like the customer is just an unhappy person, I'm not going to explain my side of the story and what actually happened because I know it would look bad for my company.) I looked at your other reviews and this is something you do often. So good luck to you. Loved doing business with Sensible Spas. We had an old spa that we wanted removed from our house. From the point of first contact to the job completion was a perfect experience for us. I was asked to send pictures of the hot tub I wanted removed when I called them to enquire about the job. Very shortly after, I got a very quick and reasonable quote from with possible dates to complete the job. They called a day in advance of the agreed date to inform me that they had an opening to complete the job sooner. Crew arrived on time. They were very polite and professional. They did all the prep work and completed the job very efficiently in just about an hour. No messy debris left behind. No damages to the property either. Overall very happy with their service! By far my best experience buying anything in a very long time. First off, when I went there I spoke to a gentleman named Sean and he listened to me and my budget. He didn't try and sell me something way over my budget and he explained about different hot tubs and what's important and showed me s couple but said that's not your hot tub. That he has a perfect one for me. He then showed me one and it was perfect. The price I needed, to the option, and it showed he really was listening to me. Then he gave me s name of an electrician to call for an estimate and I told him I have friends who are electricians but I'll call him. Can't hurt. His name was Mario. He came out, and just an awesome guy, super knowledgeable, and gave an estimate lower then what I expected. I hired him on the spot. I called my friend who is an electrician and confirmed it was a great price. Then came the delivery. It was awesome!!! Bill the owner of the spa place comes out, the electrician comes out, and they get it into your backyard, set up, tutorial and does not leave until I had all my questions answered. I think the most valuable reviews come from customers who have something go wrong. Seeing how a company handles problems tells others a great deal. We purchased a hot tub from Sensible Spa's a few months ago. We noticed that it was losing water at a slow rate. They went to great lengths to ensure it was fixed, including hauling it back to their shop and completely resealing it. A couple months later it developed another issue and was shutting off after a short time running. The technician determined that the pump needed replacing and did so on the same day with an upgraded pump. Any mechanical item can have problems no matter who you buy it from or who made it. The people you buy things from make all the difference. The people at Sensible Spas have demonstrated fine character and support. If you want a Hot Tub, this is the place to get one! read more
