So here we are. Jacuzzi all of a sudden stops working. Our regular Pool guy looks at and says it's beyond him. We gotta call somebody. He explained what they can do and how they do it and he sent one of their guys out the following morning, Pablo. Pablo came on time explained what was wrong. How it needed to be fixed and fixed it. On Monday night, we called Spas & Moore needing help to stabilize the hot tub chemicals. After a brief chemistry lesson on the phone, we concluded that we needed Spas & Moore to come out to drain, fill, and balance the spa for an event we are holding later in the week. The next morning, someone was out and did a complete servicing (including a minor repair of a missing headrest), and the spa was sparkling clean, filled, and at temp by 5:00 p.m. Doug was professional, customer service minded, and made things happen so that we could use the hot tub within a day or two. Called Doug 20 days ago to clean and prepare my spa and check on a leak. His employee came and worked diligently on the cleaning and made a repair - a $300 repair of a pipe - that according to him would fix the leak. I just called him to schedule a bi-weekly service AND to ask them to come back and check their repairs because the leak was still there. Doug said he has no employee in the area, he is very sorry, and that is not his problem. When I asked him to honor the quality of his company's work or reimburse me, he hung up. Oh, by the way... I am in Orinda, 3 miles away from their office. So I do not know l's up with his statement: "I do not cover that area right now" Walk away from this business. It was $210 to come look at my not working hot tub jet. Doug, the owner, said no charge of they couldn't fix it. David came out a day or two after the call and diagnosed the problem. Doug gave me an estimate same day, and David came back to install the new jet two days later. It wasn't cheap. It wasn't expensive... They did what they said they'd do, when they said they would (earlier, actually), and for the price they estimated. I personally prefer this type of operation to the "cheapest in town, but who knows what you'll get" gambit. (Hence the 5 stars) read more

Our Sundance Spa had a slow leak, which had been a minor issue for well over a year, but otherwise worked great with no other evident issues until Spas & Moore's visit to address the leak yesterday. The spa was heated to 97 when they arrived. They told me that it needed a new circulation pump, and new heat pump. The kicker is that since their visit yesterday the heater isn't working and I've got a cold tub, which Doug claims is totally coincidental. AND they opted out of doing any repair work. It is an older spa, and I'm not disputing that some of those parts may have been old or that repairs aren't needed, and I am of course NOT claiming that they DELIBERATELY did any damage--but it was heating and usable when they arrived, and is is cold and unusable with the heater not functioning immediately after they did their "troubleshooting" and they are fine with leaving it like that! At least do no harm, and if you do, take responsibility for it and work with me to fix it--it's really not ok to leave things worse than when you arrived. No integrity. I'm worse off than before I called them, and I don't appreciate that. Caveat Emptor with this business. read more

Called for our first spa drain and fill cleaning after approximately a year of owning our spa. We received an immediate response (within a few minutes from initial call/voicemail) with an appointment the next day. Approximately half day of work to get everything completed and the spa is like brand new. Highly recommend Doug and his team. Expect to use them for the same service a few times a year. read more

I bought a house with a hot tub. I hired Spas &Moore to maintain it. They came out every 2 weeks for $90/month. All they ever did was wash the inside of the cover and stuff the floating dispenser with bromine tablets. They NEVER tested the water. The spa was generally full of foam. They told me it was because I used too many body creams. I don't use body creams. The spa foamed even when I wasn't using it. My friends refused to use the spa - and I finally stopped using it. Finally, a friend taught me what chemicals to use and how to test the water. Problem solved. The water is clear and it hasn't foamed since. When I told Doug about this - he told me that there was something wrong with me. read more

We are the worst hot in owners - which means we literally don't do anything for it. When we do want to use it - the hot tub is in bad shape. We've used Spas and Moore twice now and they get it back good as new. They are extremely easy to contact and provide professional services. On the day of the appointment, Pablo texted me 30 mins prior to his arrival. He was professional and taught us how to take care of the hot tub, including the frequency of cleaning, and the products he recommended. I was recommended to Spas and Moore by my old spa technician. I called Doug and got a response right away. I explained my situation to him and he answered all my questions and even told me how to care for the spa myself. When have you ever heard of someone giving you pointers on how to do the job yourself and lose bringing in money to their own company. At this point I knew I had the right company and told him that I would prefer to have his team and his company service the spa. He scheduled Pablo to come out a day later after draining and refilling my tub. In the midst of trying to reheat the tub it tripped the breaker. This has never happened to me before and I called Doug right away to let him know there was more than just chemicals needed. He said Pablo would assess the problem and go from there. Pablo arrived on time and with a mask on, which I'm sure makes most people comfortable. He troubleshooted everything and came to a resolution and everything is up and running. We used this service for one month. The pool cleaner was supposed to come weekly. I spoke with the pool cleaner Doug sent. He said he was overbooked and would come random days. I was ok with this as long as they came. He came the first week, I met him, he said he only had 1 jug of chlorine and 2 chlorine discs with him as I was his last stop for the day. He did not come back for 3 weeks, and only after I called the owner twice and left voicemails of concern and wanted to make sure he remembered our address as we were new customers. I could tell he hadn't been here as I have a motion camera and tested the water knowing nobody ever came into our backyard. I had to regularly scrub and add chlorine to my pool, the filters weren't cleaned out and there were no chlorine discs added to the float, it was obvious. When Doug called back, he was clearly irritated, telling me that in fact his worker had been here weekly and that he was the best he had and nobody had ever complained. He told me I was obviously wrong and asked condescendingly if my pool was green. The answer is No, because I put chlorine in my pool and scrubbed it myself, but he didn't even give me a second to respond. Of note, the cleaner came the day Doug called me back and added only 1 jug of chlorine as I had just added chlorine the day before. He said if I didnt want to pay him for the rest of the month, fine, they'd be happy to stop. I agreed to allow him to come the next week. Again the next week, he didn't show, so I cancelled the service immediately. I gave the business owner the benefit of the doubt and even the worker thinking it was an honest mistake, but the way Doug spoke to me was uncalled for and not showing up is unacceptable for 40 dollars a week. Customer service is obviously low priority and holding employees accountable is apparently not a priority. read more

I had a 10:00 appointment with David. I took the morning off work for the appointment. 25 minutes before the appointment I received a text that he was on the way. I responded as soon as I saw it. David responded "I'm out of the area now". I texted him that I would have called his office if I wasn't going to be home at 10:00. He said " call the office if you have a problem or want to reschedule ". I said I'll find another vendor and write a review. David said " I don't care how you handle it. Stop texting me".
