John is very knowledgeable and is very generous with his time. He came to my house after I fired Brent from Hawkins Pools for his arrogant service. John pointed out numerous changes that would improve my pool. I highly recommend his service. read more

It is so refreshing to get high-quality, reliable service these days. And that is what we get from John and the Sparkle Pool & Spa Service. Sparkle came recommended by the previous owner when we bought our home in April 2022. And Sparkle has serviced our pool since then. The guys who do the weekly maintenance keep the pool perfect. They have a high standard and are quite personable. When our sweeper pump failed, John guided us through the warrantee process so we could get a free replacement via the extended warrantee on our system rather than the one on the pump (which had expired.) This saved us over $900. Further, because it was under warrantee, another pool service company that services that vendor got the replacement installation reimbursement from the vendor, not Sparkle. So all good for us, and nothing but a satisfied customer for Sparkle. Sparkle also helped us get automatic cover problems resolved, first by trouble shooting the cover themselves and then guiding us how to work with the pool cover vendor. We did contract with Sparkle to replace our Deck-o-seal when it weathered. They did an excellent job. Bottomline, if you want a high-quality, reliable pool service company that can do the everyday upkeep well and resolve the bigger problems quickly and cost effectively, hire Sparkle Pool and Spa Service. You will be glad you did. read more

I had an emergency equipment repair need. I reached out to Sparkle Pool, as they're local and had great ratings. They were responsive to my need and delivered and installed the equipment the next business day! Great work; very satisfied. read more

My pool pump didnt just die, it exploded. I had an emergency and didn't know where to turn. A contact suggested I reach out to John at Sparkle Pool. Having no business relationship with John I was concerned he would not be willing or able to address my needs. Wrong! John was friendly and helpful from the beginning. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable in what he proposed , explained what may have happened, and what he felt needed to be done. I had a new pump up and running within 5 days of making a call to John and that is even after a wrong electrical configuration that existed caused a delay of two days. Amazing work.. read more

I've had John from Sparkle Pool & Spa Service out to my home a couple times now for rather minor electrical and plumbing work. He is intelligent, honest, hardworking, and does a great job. I highly recommend his company for any pool repairs or service you might need. read more

I hired this company to put in new pool equipment in our new 30,000 gallon pool and spa. He promised to be done in 30 days and now over 100 days later still not done. Very poor customer service to say the least. John would show up at my house unannounced to work on the equipment at 8pm which was very odd to me. He installed the panel in front of the pumps which was a code violation that he didn't fix until I threatened to fire him. Then we went on vacation to come back to an algae filled pool. He was fired at that point. He portrays himself as a knowledgeable installer but noT so. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Sparkle Pool & Spa Service - Pool Cleaners Near Me - Walnut Creek, California

I called Sparkle Pool to help me get my pool back in shape . John and his staff were fast and efficient. .Gave me a good quote and Kept me updated on progress. It was a good experience all around..highly recomended .. 5 Star service .. read more

I hired this company for a full service of chemicals, checking my equipments and cleaning top and bottom of my pool. The price was higher than my other quotes, but I figured because of the yelp review, I will have a better service with less issues. In the middle of service, I bought a robot for cleaning the bottom of my pool and I got a solar cover for the pool. The first service after, the guy did not clean the robot at all. I called the company and the person I was in contact with, told me that the guy did not realized there were two different compartments/filters to clean. I told him that he didn't clean either of them anyway and even sent him the pictures. He said he will give me some sort of discount for one of the services as they clearly didn't give me the service I paid for, in that visit. Also because of solar cover, the pool guy did not do any cleaning for my pool after I put the cover on. You think they may clean the top of solar cover or roll it, clean the pool and put it back (it is really easy to do so) but they didn't do either. When I discussed the bill with the representative, he said he did not promise any discount. I am fine with that as it could be easily miss-communication but his second sentence put my over the edge. He said "he can't to give free service". The guys was always a little rude in communication but I was ok if they were giving me the service. But they clearly didn't give me the full service and charged me for it. So it look like I am giving the free money for a service they didn't do and he things I expected free service from him. I paid their bill and discontinued their service as it was not satisfactory. Customer service is big part of any business and this company clearly lack a good one. read more

Couldn't be more satisfied with john's pool cleaning service. I had let my pool go and it got on the green side, like a lot, it looked like a spinach salad. I got three estimates and John's was like half the price and I was a bit skeptical. So, he gave me some references and I called them and everybody was totally satisfied with his service. They also told me they couldn't believe the quality of service for the price. John insisted he didn't base his price on what other pool cleaning companies were charging but simply time and labor. My pool looks terrific, I even signed up for his monthly service. I will do another review on that in a couple of months, great job from a wonderful guy, thanks again John. read more

I was refered to this service by the owners cousin in January it was a few months until service started and I offered to be home to meet him but he declined and I have never yet have met him. I did start to see the employee come service the pool. It was in May I requested to that employee that I haven't yet received a bill for service and if he would alert his boss of this for me, and he agreed to do so. Around July I finally called about not receiving a bill and was told they started a new software, it lost all contact info but I would be receiving a bill ..I expressed that it was a concern to me to not get a huge bill ( why the service employee couldn't bring me a bill) ?? I can't understand. So in September I leave for Amsterdam for 4 weeks and return to a lot of mail and now aggressive attempts to collect by this guy as I had 3 notices to pay. I called him to say I just returned home and received your notices and as I have been requesting billing over 9 months because I don't want a huge bill like you have sent me, so I will pay half now and the rest next month and I will discontinue service as of now. The bill was $508.00 .. Well 2 days later I go to brush down my pool and notice my brand new pool sweep is GONE!!! For which I just paid $500.00 ...i text John because I'm not an idiot & there's nothing in front of my home to indicate I have a pool for those pool sweep robbers roaming Clayton neighborhoods. I asked he return my sweeper ...and long story short he suggested I come to his office to discuss it .. I went to the Clayton PD filed a report on him and funny thing is he has never come after me for the money I owed him and the useless cop pointed out I owed him $500. And my sweep just cost me $500 and that looks like a wash! So this punk style of doing business in Clayton is ok with our law enforcement and this is the way John Kishabi treats woman clients .. Trust me if I was a man it would have played out very differently .... So that's a pool boy at his best Clayton residents..women beware this slime punk... Of course his response to this is going to be retaliatory, and everyone knows a thief is also a lier.... I have all paid invoices from the $1200. Job from "The Pool Magician". But why wouldn't Sparkle pool then ask for payment after 5 months of labor, gas, chemicals ? Because my pool sweep was 2 days old and I fired him for poor business practices and 5 months is $500. But he never asked for payment because he took my $ 500. Pool sweep.. not a hard story to keep straight. read more

I called John for an estimate to hopefully repair our aging pump as its going on 10 years of usage. John came out the same day and was very honest about the condition of the pump and said it needed to be replaced. He gave me several options with different price ranges. I totally trusted his advice on the best pump for the money. I called around and looked on the internet to see if I could buy the pump myself and just have them install it but I couldn't find a better deal than the one John offered. The new pump was installed in two days just like John said. They were always very careful and professional throughout the whole process. I felt after everything was finished I got the best deal. I highly recommend Sparkle pool for getting the job done on time and doing everything they said they would. This is a company with integrity. read more

I have have been a fan of Sparkle Pool for several years. John really knows his pools and the equipment. He installed new equipment for me - the old equipment was rusting out and inefficient as well. His service was great - he oversees his team and they are all good people. I have a rental as well and John helped me out by letting me know of problems at the property. That is a HUGE plus for me because most services don't give you any feedback. In this case there was a child who kept messing with the pool equipment. They know pools, are passionate about providing the best service - and I highly recommend them! Thank you John and your fantastic Team! read more

We called Sparkle pool for an inspection and service in Pleasant Hill. John got back to me right away and was prompt with good advice and very competitive pricing compared to other local pool companies in the Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill Concord areas. These guys show up on time and get the job done. I appreciated that they were very make sense in their approach while keeping my budget in mind. They know that maintaining a pool can be expensive and while still giving sound advise and options they made sure to tailor a plan for us that would fit our budget. If you need a swimming pool inspection, cleaning or regular maintenance in the Pleasant Hill Walnut Creek area I would highly recommend Sparkle. read more

I am in property management and I was in need of a company to help bring one of my property's pools back to usable and working condition. I called Sparkle Pool out of the blue and am very happy I did. John was very helpful, knowledgeable, and his communication was great. He did a great job with the repairs and cleaning of the pool and did it for a very reasonable price. I now have Sparkle Pools doing monthly service for this and other locations. They stand by their work and my tenants and owners are extremely happy. Highly recommended. read more

John has some of the best customer service I've ever had. He is very responsive, thorough and never hesitates to go above and beyond to make his customers feel comfortable. I highly recommend John and his team for anything pool related big or small. read more

These guys were just ok in my opinion. Their prices were a little higher than others that I called when we finally decided to switch to another pool company. They kept our pool pretty clear, but we did have one issue with it turning green when we went out of town one week. It was really a mess when we got back. They do show up as promised, and they even changed our pool motor when we needed a new one. They did a fine job, but again, the price was higher than what others quoted. The representative I normally talked to was pretty short and gruff, but that is just a personality thing. In the end we decided to switch and are happier with the new company because they do more (i.e. skimming) for the same price we were paying with Sparkle. read more

I was referred to John and his team by a neighbor several years ago. Needless to say it was a great referral! John and team have serviced our pool for years for a fair price while providing excellent customer service for years. Whenever I have had an issue or question John has been quick to respond even on weekends, evenings and while out of town. Over the years we have upgraded our pump and pool sweep and occasionally had something break (general status quo for pool) but John and team always explained the cost of the material & labor fees and once approved the repairs were always done in a timely manner. I always felt they offered fair prices compared to other pool service companies. We had other pool services before and they charged more while doing less. On a few occasions I did do a price comparison on some of the repairs and all of John's pricing was very competitive. If you are looking for a fairly priced pool service company who knows what they are doing I highly recommend Sparkle Pool! read more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! I paid them for weekly service for years, not knowing that they weren't doing the job they were being paid for. We don't use the spa much, but that's why we paid these so-called professionals to maintain it. Had a party and my friends wanted to use the spa... it was a MESS-- black algae had completely ruined the headrests, the cover was slimy with mold, and the fumes from the chemicals almost knocked me over and the spa had supposedly been serviced that morning! These jerks are unprofessional and undeserving of my business and the THOUSANDS of dollars I paid them over the years. I'm still furious. read more

Cleaned pool filter. Left copious amounts of harmful chemicals and residue in driveway, street, and gutter which feeds to storm drain. Chemical burns skin when touched and leaves stains in concrete and asphalt that can not be removed even after pressure washing and scrubbing. Owner and employees deny allogations and attempt to blame the city stating that the "street sweepers" must have dumped the product on the street. There are photos to prove the violations caused by Sparkle Pool. Owner is rude and confrontational with those who attempt to resolve the issue. Employees are rude and lack any professionalism or customer service acumen. The actions of this company caused much anger and frustration for the residents of the neighborhood. More significantly, likely legal infractions have occured as a result of harmful contaminants being introduced to the water supply read more

Reliable and professional company. Prices reasonable. Would definitely use this company again in the future.

My initiall call to these folks was very informative and hopeful for possible help on my pool problems. After setting up an appointment, I was told they would be out between 9:00 and 9:45AM. At 11:00AM there still wasn't any service tech or courtesy call to explain why they were not there or when I could expect them. Any company that doesn't have enough courtesy to phone when they will be late or worse yet completely forget about you, in my humble opinion, says volumes about their true concern towards customer service. read more

Awesome service. John is very professional and reliable. My large backyard pool was in desperate need of a acid wash. I called a few pool companies to get bids. None of them came out to the pool to look at it, they just wanted pictures. The last company I called was Sparkle Pool. We made an appointment and John came out to the property and actually looked at the pool. His price for the project was only slightly higher than the lowest one, but he was the one I felt most comfortable with so we signed up to get the job started. What we didn't know until the pool was completely empty was the light fixture would need replacing because of a leak and the filter elements were completely unusable. All understandable as we are DIY'ers that missed the details. Despite the minor setback, John put time and effort into the project to get it complete on-time and under budget. Just in time for our big Labor Day party!!!! I can't say enough good things about John and his team at Sparkle Pool. I'm a lifetime customer for sure. read more

SPARKLE IS SIMPLY THE BEST. I was so eager to write this review. I have lived in LAMO for 10 years. In that time I've dealt with a half dozen different pool/spa service providers. Most are unreliable, uninformed, and unkept. Sparkle's staff stands head and shoulders above the rest. They are always prompt, exceptionally knowledgable and very courteous. They make excellent recommendations and back up all their work. The owner, John, is a particular pleasure. He is available to take your call morning or night. I've texted him at 9 pm and he replies immediately. I wish he could be my doctor too! Wether it's a repair or just routine maintenance, their staff treats my spa:pool like it was their own. These are the "go to" guys for LAMO. Don't waste your time and money elsewhere. read more

Sparkle Pool has been our "go-to" pool service for over 10 years. Great customer service -- prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. With John, you're always going to get an honest, upfront assessment of the problem and a cost-effective solution. When possible, John will present you with different alternatives, so that you can choose the one that fits your budget. You will never feel like you're getting the "run-around" that other pool service companies may try. On one occasion, John actually reviewed all our invoices and found that one particular part failed twice, so he fixed it with NO CHARGE. I highly recommend Sparkle Pool for any and all our pool maintenance needs. read more

Called Sparkle on recommendation of another pool service vendor. I was dealing with an emergency that needed repair. John sent his tech over to fix it the same day. Tech didn't have the equipment needed to fix the clog in my suction line that had cut flow to the pump completely but within 30 minutes John was on scene to clear the line with CO2. Clog removed, my pool pump was working again, filtering the cloudy water from a super shock I'd done to remove a stubborn algae bloom. Good thing because temps were forecast in the 100's the following week so an inoperable pump was not an option. Fair prices, prompt professional service. Highly recommended. read more

We bought a foreclosure with an old pool, and knew nothing about pools. They did our inspection and John let me video him on a "how to" of pool basics. We hired them for weekly service. They keep it looking lovely and have helped many times with my random questions. John is always quick to respond and honest. They deal with our dog on service days and as things have needed replacing they've been quick, easy and super nice. Even if there was a cheaper pool service out there, I'd never switch. Love these guys! read more

I have been a customer of Sparkle Pool and Spa Services for around 10 years and can say I have been through a lot with this company. I had a very difficult pool when we lived in Alamo (was built all wrong) and John was always willing to help me find solutions to any situation that came our way with this pool. He always recommends multiple option....from the ideal solution to the most cost effective. When we moved to Lafayette, we continued using Sparkle Pool as I realized they were the most resourceful, reliable and responsive pool services in the area. John (the owner) will always call or text back quickly when I have a question or concern. I highly recommend Sparkle Pools for both pool and spa maintenance as he has proven to be the best in the industry. read more

We tried this pool service and the service was disappointing. The owner is a quick talker and always has an excuse of why things are not being done as agreed. The owner, John is always ready to "CYA" and ready for a good arguement to place blame to the pool owner versus taking responsibility for his pool cleaning workers. Buyer beware!! read more

I contacted sparkle pool after i recently moved into my new house. I asked the pool guy "Eric" why it seems that the water level was low. Eric told me that he was "100% SURE" that i had a leak in my pool and even pointed out where he thought it was. Discouraging news so i hired out a leak dectection company to find the leak...and as it turns out I HAD NO LEAK! Sparkle pool service cost me an extra couple hundred bucks because of there lack of experience and unprofessionalism. Needless to say i canceled them them the next day! read more

I was very disappointed with the way they handled my pool and the level of customer service that was provided. I called them to help as my pool had turned green after AI returned from Memorial day vacation. They quoted me a high price but I was desperate and wanted my pool cleaned up. It took them a little over a week and they got the job done. To which I was provided with a bill that I paid in full as agreed. I inquired on monthly service and agreed on the monthly maintenance for the pool. Four days later I noticed the pool water changing color again and things building up once more. I took pictures and sent it to the contact person I was dealing with. He was not happy and kept arguing that he had cleared the pool and I got what I paid for. My point was I requested an ongoing clear clean pool and not a one shot " now you see it now you don't service" I paid for a clean pool and agreed for them to maintain it and in less than a week it is changing color again. He was abrupt and border line rude but in the end he promised to send someone to look at it . But that never happened and he never even called to tell me I will not service your pool or anything. When I emailed him again to inquire I got no response back. Total silence. and the money which was not peanuts down the drain. I feel I have been scammed and definitely would not recommend them again to anyone if asked. read more
