It is so refreshing to get high-quality, reliable service these days. And that is what we get from John and the Sparkle Pool & Spa Service. Sparkle came recommended by the previous owner when we bought our home in April 2022. And Sparkle has serviced our pool since then. The guys who do the weekly maintenance keep the pool perfect. They have a high standard and are quite personable. When our sweeper pump failed, John guided us through the warrantee process so we could get a free replacement via the extended warrantee on our system rather than the one on the pump (which had expired.) This saved us over $900. Further, because it was under warrantee, another pool service company that services that vendor got the replacement installation reimbursement from the vendor, not Sparkle. So all good for us, and nothing but a satisfied customer for Sparkle. Sparkle also helped us get automatic cover problems resolved, first by trouble shooting the cover themselves and then guiding us how to work with the pool cover vendor. We did contract with Sparkle to replace our Deck-o-seal when it weathered. They did an excellent job. I hired this company to put in new pool equipment in our new 30,000 gallon pool and spa. He promised to be done in 30 days and now over 100 days later still not done. Very poor customer service to say the least. John would show up at my house unannounced to work on the equipment at 8pm which was very odd to me. He installed the panel in front of the pumps which was a code violation that he didn't fix until I threatened to fire him. Then we went on vacation to come back to an algae filled pool. I hired this company for a full service of chemicals, checking my equipments and cleaning top and bottom of my pool. The price was higher than my other quotes, but I figured because of the yelp review, I will have a better service with less issues. In the middle of service, I bought a robot for cleaning the bottom of my pool and I got a solar cover for the pool. The first service after, the guy did not clean the robot at all. I called the company and the person I was in contact with, told me that the guy did not realized there were two different compartments/filters to clean. I told him that he didn't clean either of them anyway and even sent him the pictures. He said he will give me some sort of discount for one of the services as they clearly didn't give me the service I paid for, in that visit. Also because of solar cover, the pool guy did not do any cleaning for my pool after I put the cover on. You think they may clean the top of solar cover or roll it, clean the pool and put it back (it is really easy to do so) but they didn't do either. When I discussed the bill with the representative, he said he did not promise any discount. I am fine with that as it could be easily miss-communication but his second sentence put my over the edge. He said "he can't to give free service". The guys was always a little rude in communication but I was ok if they were giving me the service. But they clearly didn't give me the full service and charged me for it. So it look like I am giving the free money for a service they didn't do and he things I expected free service from him. I got three estimates and John's was like half the price and I was a bit skeptical. So, he gave me some references and I called them and everybody was totally satisfied with his service. I was refered to this service by the owners cousin in January it was a few months until service started and I offered to be home to meet him but he declined and I have never yet have met him. I did start to see the employee come service the pool. It was in May I requested to that employee that I haven't yet received a bill for service and if he would alert his boss of this for me, and he agreed to do so. Around July I finally called about not receiving a bill and was told they started a new software, it lost all contact info but I would be receiving a bill ..I expressed that it was a concern to me to not get a huge bill ( why the service employee couldn't bring me a bill) ?? I can't understand. So in September I leave for Amsterdam for 4 weeks and return to a lot of mail and now aggressive attempts to collect by this guy as I had 3 notices to pay. I called him to say I just returned home and received your notices and as I have been requesting billing over 9 months because I don't want a huge bill like you have sent me, so I will pay half now and the rest next month and I will discontinue service as of now. The bill was $508.00 .. Well 2 days later I go to brush down my pool and notice my brand new pool sweep is GONE!!! For which I just paid $500.00 ...i text John because I'm not an idiot & there's nothing in front of my home to indicate I have a pool for those pool sweep robbers roaming Clayton neighborhoods. I asked he return my sweeper ...and long story short he suggested I come to his office to discuss it .. I went to the Clayton PD filed a report on him and funny thing is he has never come after me for the money I owed him and the useless cop pointed out I owed him $500. And my sweep just cost me $500 and that looks like a wash! So this punk style of doing business in Clayton is ok with our law enforcement and this is the way John Kishabi treats woman clients .. Trust me if I was a man it would have played out very differently .... So that's a pool boy at his best Clayton residents..women beware this slime punk... Of course his response to this is going to be retaliatory, and everyone knows a thief is also a lier.... I have all paid invoices from the $1200. Job from "The Pool Magician". I called John for an estimate to hopefully repair our aging pump as its going on 10 years of usage. John came out the same day and was very honest about the condition of the pump and said it needed to be replaced. He gave me several options with different price ranges. I totally trusted his advice on the best pump for the money. I called around and looked on the internet to see if I could buy the pump myself and just have them install it but I couldn't find a better deal than the one John offered. John and team have serviced our pool for years for a fair price while providing excellent customer service for years. Whenever I have had an issue or question John has been quick to respond even on weekends, evenings and while out of town. These guys were just ok in my opinion. Their prices were a little higher than others that I called when we finally decided to switch to another pool company. They kept our pool pretty clear, but we did have one issue with it turning green when we went out of town one week. It was really a mess when we got back. They do show up as promised, and they even changed our pool motor when we needed a new one. They did a fine job, but again, the price was higher than what others quoted. The representative I normally talked to was pretty short and gruff, but that is just a personality thing. In the end we decided to switch and are happier with the new company because they do more (i.e. skimming) for the same price we were paying with Sparkle. read more

We don't use the spa much, but that's why we paid these so-called professionals to maintain it. Had a party and my friends wanted to use the spa... it was a MESS-- black algae had completely ruined the headrests, the cover was slimy with mold, and the fumes from the chemicals almost knocked me over and the spa had supposedly been serviced that morning! Cleaned pool filter. Left copious amounts of harmful chemicals and residue in driveway, street, and gutter which feeds to storm drain. Chemical burns skin when touched and leaves stains in concrete and asphalt that can not be removed even after pressure washing and scrubbing. Owner and employees deny allogations and attempt to blame the city stating that the "street sweepers" must have dumped the product on the street. There are photos to prove the violations caused by Sparkle Pool. Owner is rude and confrontational with those who attempt to resolve the issue. Employees are rude and lack any professionalism or customer service acumen. The actions of this company caused much anger and frustration for the residents of the neighborhood. Awesome service. John is very professional and reliable. My large backyard pool was in desperate need of a acid wash. I called a few pool companies to get bids. None of them came out to the pool to look at it, they just wanted pictures. The last company I called was Sparkle Pool. We made an appointment and John came out to the property and actually looked at the pool. His price for the project was only slightly higher than the lowest one, but he was the one I felt most comfortable with so we signed up to get the job started. What we didn't know until the pool was completely empty was the light fixture would need replacing because of a leak and the filter elements were completely unusable. All understandable as we are DIY'ers that missed the details. Despite the minor setback, John put time and effort into the project to get it complete on-time and under budget. Called Sparkle on recommendation of another pool service vendor. I was dealing with an emergency that needed repair. John sent his tech over to fix it the same day. Tech didn't have the equipment needed to fix the clog in my suction line that had cut flow to the pump completely but within 30 minutes John was on scene to clear the line with CO2. Clog removed, my pool pump was working again, filtering the cloudy water from a super shock I'd done to remove a stubborn algae bloom. Good thing because temps were forecast in the 100's the following week so an inoperable pump was not an option. Fair prices, prompt professional service. Highly recommended. read more

We bought a foreclosure with an old pool, and knew nothing about pools. They did our inspection and John let me video him on a "how to" of pool basics. We hired them for weekly service. I contacted sparkle pool after i recently moved into my new house. I asked the pool guy "Eric" why it seems that the water level was low. Eric told me that he was "100% SURE" that i had a leak in my pool and even pointed out where he thought it was. Discouraging news so i hired out a leak dectection company to find the leak...and as it turns out I HAD NO LEAK! I was very disappointed with the way they handled my pool and the level of customer service that was provided. I called them to help as my pool had turned green after AI returned from Memorial day vacation. They quoted me a high price but I was desperate and wanted my pool cleaned up. It took them a little over a week and they got the job done. To which I was provided with a bill that I paid in full as agreed. I inquired on monthly service and agreed on the monthly maintenance for the pool. Four days later I noticed the pool water changing color again and things building up once more. I took pictures and sent it to the contact person I was dealing with. He was not happy and kept arguing that he had cleared the pool and I got what I paid for. My point was I requested an ongoing clear clean pool and not a one shot " now you see it now you don't service" I paid for a clean pool and agreed for them to maintain it and in less than a week it is changing color again. He was abrupt and border line rude but in the end he promised to send someone to look at it . But that never happened and he never even called to tell me I will not service your pool or anything. When I emailed him again to inquire I got no response back. Total silence. and the money which was not peanuts down the drain.
