I rarely write reviews, but I found this company to be extremely easy to work with and very transparent about the work they do. Within the week I was their new customer. We were looking for a new company to do our weekly pool service in Walnut Creek. A friend suggested her neighbor's business Skim N' Dip. The reviews seemed good and I was prepared to be a little persistent as some reviews indicated. I was pleasantly surprised with what followed. Mark returned my call the next day and I found them very transparent about their fees and what is covered and what is additional in their various service plans. They also wanted to know about the equipment I had and asked me to send pictures, which I did. The day I sent pictures, Steve stopped by to check out the pool and the equipment and answer any of our other questions. We found that 2 other people on our court were already their customers even though we are 10 miles from their business. Their prices are very fair and they offer a discount if you pay several months in advance. So far, I think the service and transparency has been outstanding. Very highly, highly recommend! read more

Nick and his team are exceptional at what they do. Our 20-year-old filter tank had an irreparable leak and needed to be replaced. And since it was pool maintenance "high season", it took 6 weeks for a pool expert to come out to replace it. With daily temperatures surpassing 100 degrees, the water had turned green and murky, so he also recommended we have someone replace the pool water. I called Skim N' Dip and explained that I was reluctant to change the water during a drought and asked a litany of questions. Nick was very patient and professional. Before he jumped to sell his services, he had me text him pictures of the pool along with the chemical test results of the water I got at Leslie's. He explained what every chemical does and why when certain chemicals reach such high levels (especially if the water is over 20 years old), there's no amount of chemicals that can correct the imbalance. I took his advice and agreed to move forward with the recommended service, which was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Nick explained exactly how everything would roll out, from draining the pool water, to power washing the pool walls, to chlorine washing the pool walls, filling the pool, and balancing the chemicals. He and his crew also kept me posted on arrival date/times etc. Now the pool looks absolutely incredible--- I can't remember the last time the water looked so crystal clear. And a huge bonus is that I only need a fraction of the chemicals and wall-brushing to maintain it! I'm very grateful for the wonderful work of the Skim N Dip crew! read more

Treat you like a number as they have too many clients. Calls and texts are not returned promptly. We paid for a service of cleaning walls which were not cleaned. The same pool guy was not friendly and left a white stain on our step from a chlorine bucket. Look somewhere else where you are treated like you matter. read more

Nick, It has now been seven days since we found out that the pool cleaner/control system you installed in our pool for $1725.00 does not, nor will it or can it ever meet our needs. Our wait with you is over! We are terminating our service with you effective immediately. We do not want you or anyone from your company entering our property! I requested service via Yelp over the weekend. I spoke with Mark on Monday and Matt came out today Tuesday 8/10 to service my pool that was suffering from Algae. Matt checked all the equipment to make sure everything was working properly. He also checked the pool to make sure everything was working properly . He checked filters to make sure they were installed properly after being cleaned. Matt then tested the water and he came up with a plan to rid the pool of Algae! I have used Nick for many years and I just had to cancel his service because each month he disputes my payments which I have on a regularly scheduled payment from my bank. He gave barely any notice to his customers about a rate increase which was very unprofessional. Also lately his service says all equipment checked and good however my basket has been completely full and all his crew does is drop chlorine tablets on top of the debris. We recently hired Skim n Dip after experiencing some frustrating events with our prior pool service company. We had bubbles coming out of our jets, solar tube relief valve and actuator issues, as well as our filter schedule and cycle being ran at high rpms - killing our pg&e bill. This was in addition to more than a few no shows :( All of this was a daily frustration for me - and I'm very particular about my pool and it's cleanliness. Nick came out and listened to all of my concerns, corrected the filter issue on the spot and did what needed to be done to get everything else up and running as it should have been from the get go. Walter, his team member, comes out every week, skims, brushes, treats and checks the equipment so that we can simply come home and enjoy our little backyard oasis. He leaves these great service cards hanging on our door with each item completed marked off and if there are any details that need tending to, they are marked off on the card as well. I love that they do this! It is a great way to communicate what was done and what needs to be done to keep your pool in tip top shape. Nick is very responsive, anytime I've reached out he's has replied within an appropriate length of time. He's also reached out to me when he's taken care of something equipment related so that we would be aware. His follow through is impeccable!!
