We talked to quite a few pool contractors and choose Quality pool to resurface our pool as well as replace the skimmer and waterline tile. The project was done right, on time and we are very happy with the results. We choose Adam's micro pebble finish as the incremental cost of pebble over plaster was minimal, and Quality offered a 15 year warranty on the pebble finish. In fact, Quality used Adams Pool Solutions to shoot the pebble. All questions were quickly answered over the phone, text or in person by either Chris or Nino. Also, no payment advances were asked upfront. They only asked for payments after completing each section of work. We were also undecided on the pebble color, and Quality gave us time until the day before shooting the pebble to make our final decision. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. We started our pool renovation July 13th 2022. All was going to plan until the project manager Nino shared the concrete surrounding the pool was uneven and did not line up well with the coping. Lori then referred a vendor (Soane Vave aka Esaul) and that is when our problems started piling up. Lori shared he was highly recommended and encouraged us to utilize him as all construction would be halted until the concrete was addressed. Lori reiterated that she was confident in his work based on prior jobs. We didn't have any reason to believe Quality Pool would steer us in the wrong direction. Throughout the concrete work, we needed to raise numerous quality issues that resulted in did,multiple delays. First, Esaul and his team damaged the coping that was just put in by Quality Pools. They also broke an irrigation line during the concrete demolition. Esaul and Lori were insistent that the damage was negligible and that the leak we were seeing was normal condensation. Both were pressuring us to move forward with pouring the concrete over the broken pipe. Thankfully, we pushed back as we saw the puddle of water accumulate each day. After several attempts to escalate to Quality Pools, Nino finally came to assess the issue and confirmed Esaul did, in fact, damage the irrigation lines for the sprinklers. At this point, we lost confidence in Quality Pool and Esaul's ability to fix the issue and were prepared to have an alternative vendor fix the damage. LOR and Esaul continued to dissuade us from using an alternative vendor and pushed to allow Esaul to rectify the issue. He took responsibility for the error and reassured me that the work would be under warranty for 3 years. He committed to redoing/fixing the concrete if we had any future issues. Unfortunately, we needed to call out several issues with his attempts to fix the leak as well as the concrete pour. The work needed to be closely monitored by US and Nino. As the customer, we are not pool/concrete experts yet we had to raise so many issues that we would've assumed the project manager would have been monitoring. For example, after the first pass of the concrete work, there were numerous cracks and our project manager never called this out- we had to in order to get it redone. And of course, the re-work wasn't prioritized so delays continued. By February, we shared that we saw the concrete shift and the concrete come up on the perimeter of the pool. We requested that they come back to assess the issues. We shared that we urgently needed to install the safety pool fencing (we have dogs and a young child at home) but that the concrete needed to be fixed beforehand. Unfortunately, it felt like Lori and Esaul gave us the runaround on how soon it could be resolved. They continue to say they will come to resolve the issue, but continue to no show to scheduled follow ups. As a family with a young child, we need to prioritize pool safety and will probably need to get the safety fencing installed twice if they even bother to fix their work in the first place. When we shared our concerns, Esaul stated that it wasn't his responsibility because we needed more drainage in the backyard. Why was this not mentioned at the start of the work then? It is our opinion that we had a bad experience with Quality Pools because we trusted the referral they provided and their guidance on continuing to work with the vendor when we expressed concerns about the concrete work. Furthermore, when we reached out to share our experience with Quality Pool, there was an unwillingness to acknowledge that they held some responsibility for providing the poor recommendation to us. I ask that you think twice before utilizing this company as they clearly have gaps in responsiveness and resolution when things go wrong. I have concerns related to their business integrity. Reach out if you'd like further details on this project before committing to this company. We do not want others to have the same poor experience for such a large investment in their pools. I AM A PICKY CONSUMER WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS AND RECOMMEND QUALITY POOL WITH NO HESITATION!!! For context I am a homeowner, including houses with pools for over 3 decades and so I'm well versed in contractors including pools. Having said this, Quality Pools has been by far one of the best contractors I have worked with. This includes a full house remodel, backyard and landscaping and pool remodels and builds. Unlike many other contractors, they actually are responsive in a timely manner, show up when they say they will, flexible in working with clients and you will not just be a number to them. They truly are a family where team work is prioritized including their customers satisfaction. Due to the rainy reason there were delays on our part because we couldn't get the backyard paving situation done until the rain had stopped. Nino and Alex would touch base with us but never pressure us on our delay in the backyard construction and once we were done, almost a year later, they were prompt in getting back to work and there was no price increases on the estimate even though we were the reason for the delay. I read all the reviews and I do have to point out that the one star review didn't seem fair to Quality Pool. We all give recommendations, both companies and individuals, and most times the referrals go smoothly. But sometimes the referrals don't work out but that's on the other company who does the work because we all can recommend someone but we can't force them to do anything. Once we as consumers hire someone (whether recommended or not), it's still on us to vet that company and if they don't do satisfactory work we should hold them responsible and not the folks who did the referral. It's like blind dates. If my best friend referred a guy to meet and we met and it didn't go well it's not my BFF fault.... It's between me and that guy. Again, I have extremely high expectations on whatever company I work with and I am a direct, straight shooter who strongly believes in ownership and accountability who doesn't mince words. And having said that, I evaluate companies fairly for their job rather than just blame them if another company doesn't do a satisfactory job. Also when we did have issues with another contractor (not affiliated with Quality Pool), both Alex and Nino were quick to try and help us by contacting and working with the other contractor in order to get things figured out and move forward. So back to Quality pools, they had great communication, follow through, honest, a treat to work with and an outstanding job in giving us a pool and had the fairest price without the nickel and diming compared to the other dozen companies we also got an estimate from.
