The Bun Cha Ca La Vong - the vermicelli bowl with Washington coast rockfish and imperial rolls. The rockfish is tender and savory. And Ba Bars imperial rolls are some of the best in the city. At least one of us and often both of us get this every time we go. It's that good. Occasionally we'll also get the lemongrass chicken which is also very good. We enjoy these dishes so much we've never tried the Pho or soup noodles. The staff is always friendly.

I wanted to order Bun cha ca la vong but they ran out, so I got bun cha Ha Noi instead. I liked how the meat was grilled on charcoal cuz I could see the slightly dark crust on the outside, that's what made it authentic! I didn't really like the pork ball that inside the nuoc cham tho! It had some strange taste to it that I was not familiar with, and I wish the texture was a bit more firm! Overall, it was a good dinner and the service was fast! My drink was good too and the interiors was nice! I saw there is a "Quay Banh Cuon", I got hyped for a second thinking it was a real banh cuon bar but it was just for decoration lol! We will definitely come back!

It's nice to get such good care and attention when you go out for a casual dinner. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean, i'd go as far as to say that it's one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants i've ever been to. Huge plus for that in my book. The service is lightning fast, both times we've been here, we've given our order and been served within less than a 10-minute timeframe. Granted, it's usually just two of us, but still, that's pretty fast, even when they looked super busy. Half of the building is bar seating, and half is the restaurant. Pretty sure the bar area is seat yourself while the restaurant is the standard hostess seating. The bar tends to be busy most of the time. As for the food, their menu is carefully curated, they might not serve a huge variety, but we've found the options they do have are made with a high caliber of care. On our last visit, Yu Mei helped us decide on the Mandarin beef, as the original Broccoli and Beef dishes' sauce overlapped with the Beef Lo Mein dish, which would have been a repeat flavor. It was such a good call and made the difference because so far the Mandarin Beef and the Cashew Shrimp dishes are exceptionally good here. The Lo Mein was a little basic-tasting and didn't have as much flavor, but it could be great for those who don't like bold-tasting foods. The Pan Fried Crispy Noodles were perfect! We have enjoyed most of the food we've ordered here, a lot of it is just what you'd expect, standard Chinese food dishes mixed with some exceptional choices, and you can tell they take their time to make everything carefully. Highly recommend a visit here if you get the chance. They're good for groups, special occasions, takeout, watching a game in the bar area, or couples and dates. It's a casual vibe all around.

The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, and even though their kitchen was backed up with orders, they did their best to serve us quickly and the food was still top notch. We got some of the best sellers, the bo la lot, the ma la beef cheek noodles, and the Hokkien wok noodles, and they were all a hit. I enjoyed the different Asian-fusion dishes they had from different cultures as well as their wide selection of drinks. The dishes were all very rich and flavorful, and you get a good amount to share for the price. It was the perfect place to eat while chatting and catching up with a friend. We have eaten here over the years but not for quite a long time…read more The reason we have gone there is primarily when parking and wait times for a table are a problem for us at nearby dimsum and Chinese restaurants in the CID. This time we had a pup with us and heading home with 405 northbound closed so it made sense to go here instead of Bellevue to keep him in the car and cool on a hot day. There was some very schetchy characters in the garage which almost made us leave. So when entering Joyale below, it was almost empty?? Sunday at 1pm, arguably the busiest time of the week for dimsum. They have a spacious Hong Kong style dining room with an adjacent large room that was not being used. I would estimate there were maybe a dozen tables of various party sizes. But really not very busy like in the past. I wouldn't be surprised to see this place close soon! This place always excelled at parking and open table availability in the past and the food was always ok. It also stands out as the only place around almost with cart service. Well the staff was nice enough but harder to communicate with than most any other Chinese restaurant I frequent, and if you look at my reviews, I'm the whitest Chinese fellow ever! I know the cuisine and people very well. The cart service was, sorry for the language, half assed. The fried cart and the steamed carts had only some choices of the most popular dishes but of course we were given the traditional pushy dimsum cart sales push! Then we were told to order the rest and that it will be coming in 5 minutes. It was much longer and I was bringing my wife home from a flight from Asia and just wanted to eat and get home!!We kept going back and forth with multiple servers to keep asking for different items and in the end we didn't even get the usual list of dimsum we order at our usual places. They really need to do one thing or the other and as much as I love the traditional cart service they should just have you score an order card like other places do now. It was the worst ordering experience we've gone through since covid! Then the food.... It wasn't awful but was not really very good. My wife couldn't even eat the shumai and gave me her half eaten piece!! That has never happened ever!! Truly had a weird flavor like stale or fishy or ????. I see now there are other reviews mentioning this. I make this food occasionally myself and can't understand why it would taste like that? I noticed the stuffed bean curd did as well which was such a bummer as it's one of my favorite dishes! I think the problem lies in the pork filling mix as the same mixture is likely used on both. The spare ribs were absolutely flavorless and not one little black bean left in the sauces. Nor mi gai (lotus leaf rice) was non existent which is the first time we've never had it at dim sum. We kept asking..... Lastly the restrooms.... I don't live or die on the condition of Asian restaurant bathrooms for obvious reasons. It's rare to find clean and nice ones. This place used to have pretty nice ones. But now it's beyond horrible, fixtures and partitions hanging off the walls, door propped wide open for everyone to look in, one one sink obviously blocked off given the grey black water sludge all over the basin! Ugh! I could have solved 80% of the plumbing and handy work in this bathroom in a two hour or less service call if I were at work. There's just no cultural excuse for this mess and it is clearly from an operator that doesn't care about their establishment. I found that in the food and service as well here. So glad she didn't need to use the restroom as a disgusting bathroom is something she won't use!!!! And of course price.... It's something I don't chime on much these days as everything is getting expensive! Especially dimsum. But we had only 6 items and no chow mein like we usually order. Couldn't wait for more at this place. But their bill without detail came up to over $50!!! And no "special " dishes and one was just a twisted bread roll with green onion shavings in it like bao bread(which was pretty good yet flavorless) and that had no meat component. Really silly! RIP Joyale as we have put you officially on our family's do not fly list.

One positive is that they offer free parking validation, which is a nice convenience. We visited on Christmas Day, so I understand the restaurant was extremely busy, but the overall organization and service were disappointing. After being seated, we received hot tea within about 15 minutes, but no one came by to take our order. I had to ask the manager, who apologized and explained that the carts would come around. Unfortunately, after waiting nearly 40 minutes, no carts came by. After about 45 minutes, Vince finally came over and took our order. At the same time, we were able to get three items from a cart, and he submitted the rest of our order to the kitchen. However, after that, the service slowed down again. Customers who arrived after us received their food before we did, while we waited more than an hour and only received about five items. I understand holidays can be challenging, but the lack of organization during our visit was frustrating. The food quality was also inconsistent--the beef tripe was crunchy, the beef honeycomb was overcooked, and the steamed bean curd was chewy and seemed less fresh. With better service coordination and more consistent food quality, this restaurant has the potential to provide a much better dim sum experience. Based on our visit, I'm not sure if we will be returning.
