Ordered delivery for the first time today. Delivery time was over 90 minutes which was incredibly disappointing particularly considering the email and website both said it would be 45-60 minutes. As for the food, thePud See-iew was good, decent flavor but light on both chicken and broccoli. The Chicken satay was very good, 4 skewers with a side of sauce. Overall a decent restaurant, but they need to work on the delivery service. I love it when the owners of hole-in-the-wall places come out to greet their customers. When the owner/chef, a cute little old(?) lady came out to talk with us, we couldn't really praise the food enough. Vegetarians, take heart, you have tons of delicious choices here -- and it is vegetarian food that feels like it SHOULD be vegetarian, not just tofu subbed into a meat-dish. As of this review, Sea-Thai is at an average 3 1/2 stars... This is insanity, people. Do not let this atrocity go unsung. I first experienced this place about 8 years ago, the day after getting back from a 2 week trip to Thailand. I know what you're all thinking. Thai food the day after being the land of Thai food (and people)? The people I went with insisted it would be like I never left, which was an exciting prospect at the time. They were RIGHT. It is all delightfully authentic, all the way down to the vaguely described sauces. My favorite is the "Thai" sauce. I've tried many other Thai places since, and nobody comes close in a variety of dishes. Best yellow curry, best peanut sauce, best pad thai (though I rarely get it)... Best specials, by far. The yellow curry is perfectly sweet, and the vegetables within benefit from living in it. The peanut sauce is the perfect consistency, not too runny, and the flavor is stupendous. I always get their swimming rama with tofu, and I know it seems odd to say so because who could really mess this up, but their fried tofu is always spot on. I could go on for days about the divinity of this restaurant, but I think you're feelin' my energy here. Go. Love it, as I do. read more

I have gone here many many times through the years. It is around the corner from my old apartment. Everything I have ever had there I loved. I am a particular fan of their Hot and Sour Soup. I also like their salads although they ar e a bit smaller than I might have wished. The owners work there. I've been getting food here for 3-4 years now, but I usually use a website to order my food. It's always been delicious, and prompt enough, and it would take a lot for me to quit being a fan of this place. Just did want to say, for the first time I called in my order today- and the guy who took my order was laughably irritating at the lack of typical customer service. Nothing terrible, just a tiny stupid thing: he didn't give me a total after asking how I'd like to pay; assuming he may have forgotten, I asked him how much that would come to, to which he replies "oh something like, $20 bucks or around there." Bemused, I go "so no total? I guess that's cool?" and he replies, "yeah, I guess I can add that up for you if you like." Good stuff, chief. Also, tiny irritating thing: On their online menu, a Thai Iced Coffee is $2.75, and he priced me at $3.50. Def not cool, pal. Whatever though. I LOVED this place under the previous (original) owners. They retired about 2 years ago. S11 and B4 were my go-to orders. I LOVED having the owner speedily drive me my delivery items! Such a great place. These days the food quality and service (omg-I just don't get delivery anymore. Can't count on it being timely or hot or...) have went downhill. This is still the only place in town to get Nam Kao Tod (Nam Pak) even if it is just south of amazing. Go to Sea-Thai. Order S11. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews on here, but my delivery order arrived quickly and was delicious. Was it a gastronomic revelation? No, no it was just good food. I didn't really even order traditional Thai, which I imagine would be even better. I especially liked the Curry Puffs, which are a delicious curry wrapped up and fried into wontons. Was looking for a late nite place to get some food. Stumbled upon this hole in the wall in Wallingford, real close to home. As with all thai restaurants, my first order and yardstick is always the pad thai. Got a take out, was pleasently quick. I was warned about the spice, I heeded it, got a 3. But the pad thai had some sweet syrupy sauce in it. Not a big fan of that. It was clearly off! I like my pad thai hot, peanuty and tangy, a perfect balance of flavors, but not sweet! Okay kiddies here is a minute by minute downplay of my order with Sea-Thia!!! I placed an order with Sea-Thai about 5 minutes (4:25pm) ago via the website eat24hours.com . (Don't you love how AMERICAN that website is? Any fat American and can stuff their face's non-stop 24 hours a day. Man we ARE The greatest nation on earth. But I digress.... So as I wait for my food I'll watch "Democracy Now" cover the famine in Africa..). Okay I'm back and the food just arrived at 5:05! Great delivery time. The spring rolls are the fried ones (not mentioned on the menu I looked at; I was hoping for fresh un-fried rolls myself) but they are tasty and good flavor. The sauce that came in the box adds a slightly fresh sweet taste to them. The chicken satay is not too bad but it is not the best I have had. Though the peanut sauce helps hide the fact the chicken is a little dry. Good but not "WOW!!! Chow down on THIS K-9!!" Finally the Angel Wings have an amazing filling and great flavor. So gross. Weird congealed thin egg noodles used instead of proper wide rice noodles in the pad siew. Only a few pieces of soggy broccoli and carrots in it, and not much meat or egg either. Crab wontons were cold and tasted weird, and only came with about a teaspoon of sauce. Barely edible food. I used to get delivery from this place the food was ok, I preffered the banana rolls. The banana rolls are inconsistent in that sometimes they are filled with banana, as would be expected by the name, more than once I got a bunch of coconut and little banana nowhere on the menu does it mention coconut-banana rolls. I recently went and ate in at the restaurant it was a big disappointment. I went with a friend we ordered 4 things 2 of the 4 things were not what we ordered, we didn't have a lot of time and ate it anyways, all of it was made poorly there were very few vegetables in my tom kha and the curry that I received on top of what vegetables were in the food seemed like old vegetables. I ordered my food 3 stars and without sugar it was hardly 1 star and definitely had sugar. I will not be returning nor will my friend or anyone I tell the story to. read more

I ordered the Pad Thai and spring rolls for delivery. It got to my hotel in 22 minutes from when I ordered it - amazing! The prices are fairly reasonable and I really enjoyed my meal. Not impressed. We ordered delivery food (admittedly, ~45min before closing) and all of the following happened: - The spicy level of two dishes was swapped; two in our party had to switch dishes. - I did not receive the rice I ordered despite the order-taker repeating my order back to me. - My panang was a lot of liquid with a few shrimps thrown in and not much else (one small piece of bell pepper, a few shreds of greens). Not edible on its own. - When I called the restaurant to ask about my rice, the person on the phone got very confrontational, claimed they didn't know about the rice(?) despite the order taker confirming it. - I asked for a refund on the rice, the phone person was rude, and hung up on me abruptly. - The pineapple rice was so boring I had to dump my panang onto it to make either dish good. - A few moments later, the restaurant called me back to be confrontational again. - I asked them to clarify the amounts charged to ensure they had not charged me for the rice; I had them break it down for me by item, then said I'd check my card and let them know if there were any inconsistencies, at which point he said, "you'd BETTER check your card", pretty rudely, and hung up on me again. Oh yeah, and the ONE PERSON whose food wasn't totally screwed (he swapped with someone whose food got messed up)...got food poisoning afterward. So, everybody lost. Just ordered from Sea-Thai literally 2 hours ago for delivery to the Children's hospital. We ordered $75 worth of food for several hungry employees, the delivery took about 1 and 1/2 hours (seriously? from Wallingford to Children's? I could have walked to pick it up faster), because the driver was "lost". We called several times to find out how much longer the delivery would take, and the "manager" was extremely rude and told us to "just go back to work and [the driver] will call you". After we FINALLY got the food, I opened the bag to find that my ginger fried rice with tofu was ginger fried rice with chicken (even though I went over the order with the "manager" twice and he repeated everything back at the end of the phone conversation). The red curry that we had been waited for had the lid partially off and was spilled over the rest of the food. I called the "manager" to report the issues and request some sort of partial refund. He was ridiculously rude (not a huge surprise), claimed that we should have looked at every dish with the driver (in the lobby of the Children's hospital, um, okay), and that he did not get my order wrong. One thing he didn't get wrong was my credit card information, which he gladly charged full price (and that I will be disputing believe me). My other colleagues report that the food was sub par, the meat was dry, and the curries pretty much tasted the same, regardless of color. Being as hungry as they were, they ate it, and some lucky carnivore got my chicken ginger fried rice. In summary, what poor customer service. Seriously. Will NEVER order from that place again. Service was good, not great, but whatever, it's a thai joint! It's the food that really matters. My husband and I stumbled upon this place a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed it. We both love spicy food and typically order 5 stars at other restaurants without batting an eye but decided to take it easy with the new place and go with 4 stars. Both of us were in tears as we were eating our food-it was SO spicy! They were tears of joy. Most thai places leave us wanting in the spiciness department. At Sea Thai, you ask for 4 stars, they will give you 4 freaking stars. Finally!! I love the Pud Pet and their Red Curry is delicious as well. The red curry is yellow in color which is interesting and the flavor is incredible! They have the best brown rice too. It's a mix of different kinds of brown rice and has a wonderful texture and nutty flavor. Nom nom nom! We just ordered take out for dinner and it was bomb. They do not skimp on their portions and both my husband and I are very satisfied and will both have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. For 24 bucks, 4 delicious meals is not bad at all. Ordered online with delivery supposed to be within one hour. After 1 1/2 hours, called restaurant and their excuse is that they are backed up and it would be another half an hour. Wow. I was excited to find a Thai restaurant that delivers to my neighborhood and that I can order from online. Never again. I placed an order online through Seamless around 5:30 pm. By around 6:30 I was getting impatient and called Sea Thai to see what the status was. I was told that the delivery person had left with my food and was on his way. Around 7 pm I received a call from Sea Thai. I was told that they had lost my order and it was just now out for delivery. Ugh. Around 7:45 I finally received a call from the delivery person saying he was outside my building. I was recovering from surgery at the time so I needed him to actually come to my door to give me the food. I tried to tell him that I would buzz him in and that he could just come up but he hung the phone up on me. The delivery guy did manage to come to my apartment door. When I answered I expected an apology for the OVER TWO HOURS that it took for my food to come. I also expected to at least get a free Coke out of this whole thing or something as an apology. Nope. The delivery guy did reassure me that my food was "sort of warm." By this time I was really nauseated and feeling light headed from not eating so I just signed the damn check and closed the door rather than freaking out on the delivery guy. Aaand upon opening the food we found that we'd been given a full order of massaman curry (which tasted ok), a weird half-size order of panang (a little better than the massaman) and 8 spring rolls. I love Sea-Thai. The owner is so friendly and we Sawatdee-Ka every time I come over. She always asks me about my mother and schmoozes my hubby a bit (some Thai folks ignore him). The best dish is the Nam Khao Tad which is crispy rice with lime and spices that you roll in lettuce leaves. The lunch special I enjoy is the Chicken Satay with Tom Yum Goong. They have lots of variety on their menu and diverge from the typical Americanized Thai fare (Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Fried Rice, Curry). It's nice to have more delicious choices. Try their Khao Moo Dang, now that's Thai food! When I really want Mango Sticky Rice I drive from my house in Columbia City to Sea-Thai in Wallingford just to get it! read more

Sea Thai is another place that has been around for at least a decade. It is a tiny hole in the wall that remember going to in high school with my boyfriend and I loved it. not surprisingly, it is not as good as I remembered. Living in Wallingford, Sea Thai is one of a few Thai restaurants that delivers. I thought I would investigate delivery green curry which was probably a mistake but what can I say, I work a lot lately. The curry was 10% chicken and 90% bamboo shoots. More than an hour late, they called to inform me that they had not even left the restaurant yet. And preceded to tell me, (an hour after ordering,) that i could no longer order from them because i was too far away. He was very grouchy and impolite. We got a delivery from this place last night and were very disappointed. We ordered on line and that worked fine and the delivery was exactly on time. We ordered 2 dishes. The Nam Kao Tod came with partially frozen romaine lettuce leaves which were discolored where they were thawed. In the Goy Teal Kee Mao Talay the seafood was skimpy in quantity and rubbery; the noodles stuck together in lumpy clumps. Because of other reviews we only ordered 2 stars not our usual 3 and in this dish it was still so hot that the only flavor was hot. We won't order from here again. read more

Very nice portions and they don't skimp on any dish with shrimp. The left overs held for a week and it was all pagaged nicely. After we ate there, I was raving about them at my work and I was surprised to see how many people agreed with me. You will not be disappointed.
