For all the men who think they are men out there...you need to get SB4. If you ever eat in and read the actual menus there, the caption for this dish is something along the lines of THE MAN DISH. Honestly, I like it, too, but I've always gone to this place with a bunch of guys and they'd probably tell me I shouldn't because I'm not manly enough. But I did pick a little out of my boyfriend's dish and it's good. Maybe next time I'll just tell them to deal with it and order my own plate. :D But, I also love, love, love their red curry! Om nom nom nom nom! I think this is the best red curry I've had...ever! Also, this place is spicy! I think my tolerance for spicy food is pretty average to above average (errr, I'm capable of eating those Flamin' Hot Cheetos), but I think 2-3 stars is more than enough for me. Not a bad take out place - I don't know there was just something about it that didn't amaze me and I can't put my finger on it. I ordered a chicken dish with onions, basil, mushrooms and baby corn. (shout out for the baby corn!) It was good, but the sauce was reallllly oily. The rice was actually really tasty for brown rice and not soggy at all. Over all I would order here again. This place is such a cute little neighborhood Thai place! I love how small and homey it is and how friendly the staff is. They always come out and ask how we like everything (the cook included) and are just so pleased to hear that we're enjoying ourselves. They truly care that you are having a good experience. The cook also told us, as we raved about the panang curry, that she grinds the curry herself because it is better that way! She was pretty adorable. If you're looking for something late at night when in a pinch this solves the hunger but nothing more. Very basic, not much Thai flavor in the curry, I ordered the panang curry with a spice level of very hot and I would say buffalo sauce is more flavorful. I had two slices of peppers in it for the veggies and paid for a side of broccoli and they put it in the curry instead. The potsticker were good, but to be honest tasted like Trader Joe's. I've had some pretty okay thai food in Seattle after living here for almost 4 years now. But there really hasn't been anything that's quite captivated my taste buds. I've tried Jai Thai, Siam, & Jasmine Thai in the Pike Place Market. All 3 are really delicious, but not quite special enough to tell my friends "You HAVE to go!". While looking for something quick to eat before a party, my partner and I stumbled across Sea-Thai. It looked small enough to get food in a jif, it was someplace new that we never had been before, and it had decals on the window saying it was voted one of the best of Citysearch or something like that. So, we stepped in to find ourselves practically on top of a couple eating their dinner right by the door! Small pretty much described the dining area. We were seated within a minute after they cleared a table for us. The place probably has about 8 tables and can seat maybe 20 people?? Very small. But small doesn't always mean quick service. It took about 10 minutes before we got any water and menus. Then, another 10 before the girl finally came and took our order. By this time, I was annoyed and hungry after a 9-hour work day. I had no intentions of staying and waiting for the food which had been ordered almost a half-hour ago. We heard the people next to us gripe about how slow the service was and how upset they were that they didn't get one of their orders. By this time, I really had no high expectations for Sea-Thai and was going to take the decal off the window for them. Alas, our food came piping hot and everything we ordered was present. Grumpy and grumbly, I piled the food on my plate to start inhaling it so we could get to our party which we were already late for. First bite went in and the angry, hungry Lee melted away from the warm, spicy, sweetness. At last, there was a thai restaurant that I wanted to tell all my friends "You HAVE to go there!" Our dish was did not taste generic like all the other thai restaurants. There were flavors I'd never tasted before, but very much enjoyed. And 2 star spiciness definitely had some kick! Wowza! With every bite, I forgot how upset I was that I had to wait so long. The food was amazing and I felt it was totally worth the wait! Maybe if it didn't take almost an hour before I finally got to eat, I would've given this place 5 stars. But 4 stars I think is well-earned. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was not stellar, but I could tell she was really trying and pushing. So, points for effort. If you're looking for some spectacular thai (and aren't crunched for time), I definitely recommend checking this place out! I finally found truly hot Thai food in Seattle. I decided to try Sea Thas since I walk pass this Wallingford restaurant almost every day. It's a very small hole-in-the wall place which at first glance didn't seem too appealing. I decided to tough it out (the waiter was a bit inattentive) and I'm glad I did. The food I ordered was outstanding. The soft spring rolls (I can't remember what they called them on the menu) were perfect and the highlight was my red curry chicken with Mom's special Southern Thai 7 star spice! Oh ya...it was hot. I haven't filled out the "Last Meal on Earth" portion of my Yelp profile because I can't commit, but suffice it to say that avocado would most certainly be an integral ingredient. I love it like Garfield loves lasagna. And Sea-Thai's version of green curry with avocado lived up to my anticipatory hype. Henceforth, whenever I view a Thai menu, I will secretly wish the green curry included avocado. We also ordered the Rama Garden because I love me some peanut sauce. Again, Sea-Thai delivered. Both figuratively and literally. We ordered via http://eat24hours.com/, so I haven't dined IN the restaurant. Though I can't speak to the joint's atmosphere or service, I will say the order was promised to arrive in 45-60 minutes, and there was a knock on my door 40 minutes after I clicked "submit". Our food arrived fresh & hot--an ideal delivery transaction. Portions were huge, and tasty leftovers were enjoyed by all the next day. They deliver !!! which was so nice to learn as i moved a pretty great distance from my old Fremont place. I try Pad Kee Mao at every Thai place I go and consistantly Sea Thai is best. Their Eggplant lovers is sooo good, a great veggie choice I have spent time in Thailand and my mother is Thai. I highly reccomend this place and think its underrated. Well the noodles were cooked half-way and not pan-fried, there was enough peanut sauce for maybe half of it and no vegetables at all! I was very disappointed. Yay! After living within a stone's throw of Sea-Thai I finally got to give them a try for take-out tonight. Even at just before 7 on a Saturday, then had no trouble whipping up 4 dishes and some spring rolls in less than 20 minutes. The spring rolls were small, light, and crisp - a perfect appetizer. The oyster beef was excellent and mild at 2 stars. Pad See-iew was tangy and sweet. G'oong Siam shrimp was kinda spicy and ok. To round it out, I do have to agree with the review below regarding the Green Curry - way too heavy on the bamboo shoots. While the last two dishes were a little disappointing, I still felt this was certainly a better than average Thai experience with good service at a reasonable price. I've been to several Thai restaurants in Seattle and this one is one of the best so far. The ambiance may not be ideal (somewhat of a hole in the wall joint), but that just makes it more real. The food was very authentic, like home-made. I ordered chili fried rice with chicken, 2 stars. It was delicious! The only qualm I had about it was the fact that it could have been more "fried." You know that stuck-to-the-bottom-of-the-frying-pan, crunchy rice thing going on? Yeah, didn't have it. Overall, really good rice. My bf ordered red curry with chicken (4 stars) and it was amazing! Very spicy (the way he liked it), yet not too overpowering as to mask the taste of the curry, spices, and chicken. It was very savory, rich, and creamy. Overall, the only main complaint I have is the fact that rice costs extra. I think rice should come as a given side with any entree. I was really impressed with Sea Thai. My company had them deliver lunch to us and it was a really easy and convenient way to grab food. The best part was the portions are huge so you are able to thoroughly enjoy your food and probably have left overs! Some people said the food hasn't been good but we all had a really great experience. I had the Pad GInger with chicken, which was really delicious with an order of jasmine rice. We had about a dozen meals in total crossing over the entire menu and everyone had really positive things to say. We'll be using Sea Thai in the future to order lunch. read more

Got the BBQ duck curry and the pad kee mao pad kee mao has no taste, it was like they skipped putting any sauce on it the curry was so thin you could pour it onto the rice and the rice would still be white, it was pretty devoid of veggies and duck as well. read more

Where do I start? Its BAD. Can we give it 5 stars for how crappy it is?!? My husband and I decided to give this place a shot after the Than Brothers Pho place next door was closed. It was a regretful mistake walking into this place. We were the only people walking into an empty restaurant and it took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. We ordered the "garlic" fried chicken wings, panang curry chicken with white rice, and Phad see ew with beef. The garlic wings came out first with a shot glass of sweet chili sauce, which looked fine until my husband first bit into it to find that it was FROZEN COLD on the inside. We had them take it back. The panang curry chicken and the phad see ew were just ok, but we had better. There in fact a lack of flavor. The service was poor. Although we were the only ones sitting there, nobody checked on us except to bring us our food. The only positive thing here is the steamed white rice which was presented in a fish shape. The delivery man seemed extremely grateful for my three dollar tip... The 4 stars was truly 4 stars... The prices seemed normal to the hipster area I live in... The curry seemed to have a flavor depth greater then other restaurants in the area... There wasn't much veggies in my curry... My roommates chicken looked good... Cue the bugle horn for thee announcement. ahem. Sea-Thai DELIVERS!!! As in meals on wheels, brought via courier, straight to your mouth. In terms of satisfaction, nothing better than some real grub brought to your job site of pathetic dining options. A few tips I'll share. If in fact you are already browsing their tri-fold take out menu, one side is the "regular menu" fare. One could order any dish, any day of the week. They also have a section for "WEEKDAY Lunch specials", these are not available on weekends (not sure about the bank holidays). So check the rules prior to placing your order. Their star rating for "howspicy?" is arbitrary, so be prepared with some Rolaids or an ample supply of Sriracha sauce. Between 5 dishes and all with 3 stars there was quite the range of, jus right to HOLYMOTHERFIRE-breathing-dragon. The food is generous, and packed thoughtfully but it will confuse you. Interestingly, the tofu veggie stir fry is dunked in a gravy thick soup container. The Lad Na noodles are essentially soup noodles in thick broth and packaged that way. My pineapple fried rice had a sparse amount of pineapple, which is unheard of since it comes bountiful from a can. But shall I reiterate, they do deliver. read more

Sunday, Labor Day, 1pm for lunch. This is a tiny place, less than 10 small tables, though lovely light from 3 skylights and a friendly pleasant staff. Parking is on this busy street but do-able. We were the only clients at the time, so I can't comment on how they do service wise when busy. We ordered Pla Rard Prik (deep fried red snapper topped with sweet chili sauce), and Tom Yum Noodle Soup with Pork (it had lots of tender pieces of Pork, lots, with onions, cilantro, lemon grass, lime leaves and juice, and lots of thin rice noodles all swimming in a very flavorful soup). Their green tea was excellent. The fish, a large fillet, was crisp, cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh and full flavored, a spectacular dish! Lunch specials are not available on weekends. I did give this place another try. Had their 'Drunk Noodles'. It was anything but that. Normally, Drunken Noodles have a handful of basils and not so much sauce. The dish that came was the opposite of that. It had a couple of basils and way too much sauce. Salty too. Ordered two plates of the same dish: one with 4-stars and another with 5-stars. The 5-star one had extra chili flakes sprinkled on top. I mean, come on! You made the same batch of food. I get it. But after you put the 4-star portion on the dish, you could add more chili flakes to the leftover, mix all that up, and serve on another plate. It was sloppy and unappetizing. Not every restaurant can be the best at everything... Which is the case here. As a family we ordered the fried rice, phad thai, and green curry. Fried rice is hard to mess up, but this was barely passable. Had the kids not just finished soccer, I'm sure they would not have eaten it. The phad thai was very basic but had good flavor; I'd order it again. The curry was horrid. There was oil floating on top of a water thin 'sauce'. There wasn't an essence of creaminess to it and completely lacked flavor; so much so the only thing I could taste was the white rice I ordered with it. I've had a few dishes from here, and been disappointed by all of them. The Kee Mao had absolutely no sauce on it, just stir fried veggies and some weird noodles and spice. The veggies must have looked at the frying pan in terror and jumped back out, they were still super raw. The lack of sauce is the most disappointing though! Just a warning though, I got spiciness of 2 stars and it was pretty damn spicy and I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy. Sea Thai offers a mix of Americanized Thai food and really delicious authentic dishes. It's tough to determine what to order but really you can't go wrong with anything. I've had a range of dishes from here. Standard curries that fulfill the standard cravings. And more traditional snack food like the fried beef appetizer. This time I had the red snapper which was covered in a sickly sweet sauce. It can be pretty hit or miss, but I'd like to go in and try what they suggest. Sea-Thai is a small (most-likely) family-owned Thai restaurant abuzz with calls for takeout orders. My bf and I ordered Eggplant Lover and Kee Mao Noodles with tofu. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of veggies the noodle dish had. It had broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, bok choy, and basil leaves. It was a decent portion size as well. The eggplant dish did not disappoint us either. The eggplants were cooked thoroughly so that they practically melted in my mouth. (Be careful not to burn your mouth!!) We moved to Wallingford (aka, Wallyworld) about 2 1/2 years ago. We have eaten at the Sea-Thai about twice a month, some months more often. It is by far our favorite Thai restaurant in Seattle, and we've tried plenty on both sides of the lake, including the Chantanee. Sea-Thai is the ONLY Thai place in Seattle that serves Nam Kao Tod "Crispy Fried Rice," which we've only been able to find at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas (The #1 Thai in America according to Gourmet Mag) before now. We think Renoo's version is even better!! Try it, you'll love it!! It is S11 on the "special menu." If you are daring, also try Renoo's "Southern Thai Curry paste" on your favorite Red Curry dish, but be prepared to sweat!! It is awesome and it is HOT!! Not for the weak of heart. Everything they have is awesome. You cannot go wrong. Voted the best Thai in Seattle several years. read more

Full-time student with a full-time job on a day with full-time rain. Did that take-out thang. Ordered at 4, got it at 6. They did call at 4:40 to tell me it would be a "little late". When I called at 5:40 to ask for an update they said 13 minutes. That was accurate. When the guy showed up he told me they forgot my pop and handed me a cash refund. The Panang sauce was good but there were probably two slices of pepper. They were heavy on the tofu which was nice. My partner in crime got the pad thai which was dried out on top. I assume it was because of the wait, but once you got past that it was pretty good. I was really hoping to find something reliable nearby. Boo. EDIT: Took my last bite. HUGE piece of eggshell.
