Scramblers in Powell has become our weekly breakfast "meeting". The food is always hot, consistent, and quick, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming, even on busy mornings. The highlight is Ashlee. She has waited on us many times and is always warm, efficient, and genuinely caring. She remembers us every week and brings such great energy to the front-of-house. First time here and decide to grab breakfast to go. We got the western omelet with hashbrown and cheesy grits sides. In addition we got the breakfast hash with chorizo and side of hasbrown. Stopped by for breakfast today with my mom. Was surprised that they have a small cocktail menu - I ordered the Strawberry Margarita Mimosa and it was tasty and a good size for $4.99. I ordered the Westgate skillet which was full of flavor. Tasty chorizo, salsa, and potatoes. I chose the sourdough toast and ended up taking half of my skillet home. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. There was a 15-20 minute wait at 11 am on a Sunday and we were seated right around 15 minutes. read more

Wanted pancakes and corned beef hash this morning. This spot used to be really good. My first warning sign was the "closed" sign was still in the window, but there were many people inside - about 20 or so. I walked in and there was no hostess. Waited more than 5 minutes. As I was about to leave, the young lady came to the front. I was seated. It was another 5-7 minutes before she came back. Apparently she's the only one working as a server and hostess. I did tell her that the sign said "closed" and she just laughed. I ordered pancake and corned beef hash. When the food finally came out almost 15 minutes later, it was regular hash with cheese and a pancake. The pancake was cold. The butter wouldn't even melt. I just cancelled my order. Is there new ownership here?? I've never had this experience at this location. I will not be returning. read more

I am writing this for the Powell restaurant. So I went for breakfast today. I always get the same thing: the Westgate. It was delicious as usual. What I want to mention is the lack luster service . I am not going to mention my servers name. She did nothing wrong, but her demeanor made my dining experience unpleasant. It was not in anything she said, but when I made requests her body language and facial expressions made me feel that I was doing her a disservice, maybe even interfering with her day. She never smiled or looked me in the eye. Yes, I know that good help is hard to get, but in my opinion if you show up to work then do so with a positive attitude, perhaps even be grateful that you have a job. This next complaint is for every restaurant that I frequent. Why can't the servers take what I call the debris off the tables? By debris I mean the empty sugar wrappers, the individual serving creamer cups, that paper on which butter pats are served, etc. It is a pet peeve of mine that this debris build up on my table when it can be removed in an instant. In fact I put mine neatly assembled at the edge of the table so that can be picked up easily in one hand. Unknown to my servers, I will actually put an extra $5.00 in the tip to any server who takes the debris away without me asking. It does not happen often unfortunately. What do we have to say about scramblers? When you think "I just want a basic breakfast" - no "with shallots and herbs and this ingredient blessed by our resident hipster who took shrooms and tells everyone he is a shaman now." You want eggs and meat and toast and potatoes? They got you. You want coffee and steak and eggs? They got you. It's breakfast. It isn't complicated. And they don't make it complex. I typically order Scramblers via Uber eats and it's usually amazing. Today the order was awful. Not sure if they used old scale food, if there's a new cook or if they were rushing but this is not it. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken i got were two tiny pieces, no green onions and the hash brown was stuffed no the middle of the waffle as opposed to being in a different container. Do better scramblers when it comes to your Uber eats customers because you're about to lose a loyal customer read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I am truly appalled at the service that I just received in ordering online through Grubhub with this establishment. I always go here including my parents and on occasion, I order online through Grubhub to pickup an order. My father went to pick up an order for me. I got a call from my father asking what name it was under and I told him it was my first name and last name initial. When my father relayed the info back to the waiter, I actually heard him say "is this through Grubhub?" and my father said he wasn't sure but gave my name. I was irate when I heard the male server say with a nasty attitude "well why didn't you say so then OMG" and then you could hear a slight pause from my dad and then my dad replied "wait excuse me? I don't like your tone at all." Then the male server replied "whatever and here's your food" and then shoved the food bags into my father's hands. My dad was completely shocked that this kind of service was given just to pick up an order. I am absolutely LIVID that this kind of vitriol would go on at a restaurant that I've patronized alongside my parents for years since we've lived in the city of Powell. I guarantee that I will NOT return to this location. This is absurd, hurtful and downright disrespectful. I pray that management reads this review. I do not blame Grubhub at all however, I do not agree with whatever kind of emotions the server was feeling should've been taken out on an elder man. My father is a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran and Airborne Ranger. How dare you disrespect him as my father, an American veteran and patron of your service. Awful seating with okay service and food. We have been going here a lot but no longer. It does not matter what time you get there (we arrived at approximately 12:15 with a party of three)...they are always closing sections down and pig piling everyone on top of each other. So awful! It was so crowded where they piled us that the waitress kept banging into us to take our order, etc. What happened to dining out when it was all about ensuring the customer was comfortable and enjoying their stay? Now it seems to be just about making it easier for the workers or saving money. Do you not understand by inconveniencing your customers you are going to lose them? The majority of the dining room was open to where you could have spread everyone out to ensure everyone had a nice dining experience...but no let's pig pile everyone! Unbelievable! read more

A lot of these reviews complain about bad service but my service was wonderful! I've been coming here for five years and have never had crappy service so maybe I'm lucky or maybe the service really isn't that bad. The food though is always great! Id pick this over Bob Evans and IHOP any day! It's got pretty much anything you'd want, from heavy to healthy, omelettes to skillet stir fries to classic biscuits and gravy or benedicts to pancakes & French toast. If you're hanging with a picky crowd this is a great got everything kind of breakfast place to go. I wish the coffee selection were a bit better but hey, this isn't a cafe. Scrambler Marie's (sometimes\formerly called Cafe Marie's) is something of an Ohio staple. I used to dine at one all the time back in Toledo, and have fond memories of getting to go there special when I was a kid. Going to Marie's is something of a special event too, since it's difficult to get there given that they close at 3:00. Basically, if you work, that means you can only visit on holidays or weekends, which typically means a long wait. However, once in a while anyways, it's worth the wait. Part of the reason Maries closes so early is that its specialty is brunch and breakfast. They do have burgers on the menu (which are very good, if a bit greasy), but pancakes, omelets, scrambled eggs, and crepes are more the specialty. The food is usually quite good, if a bit greasy\oily. Omlets are the worst offenders in this category, though they are quite flavorful and worth an indulgence now and then. Overall, my personal favorites include the rocky-top french toast (thick french toast topped with butter and granola) and the seafood or chicken crepes. The latter are not super-thin, but they are delicate and sweet, with delicious fillings in a rich hollandaise sauce. The chicken in particular can be delicious and juicy - definitely worth a try. The pancakes are also quite good, though a little bland. They can be dressed up with granola, chocolate chips, almonds, and so-on, though, and are extremely filling. Note that a normal sized plate is actually bottomless, but you would have to be very hungry to move beyond the starting 3-cake platter. Overall, I think this branch near Polaris is one of the better Marie's I've been to. I often have suffered indigestion after brunching at Marie's elsewhere, but I haven't had those troubles at this branch. For that reason, and the fact that joining the Marie's Club fills the inbox with an array of coupons and promotions, I've been here quite a few times. I often feel the servers are a bit sad to see the coupons - I get the feeling a lot of folks don't tip based off the original bill - but I've never had any complaint with the service. Indeed, service at Marie's is almost always fantastic, no matter the branch. The Powell branch is no exception, with a helpful and eager wait-staff, happy to chat for a minute as well as answer questions about the menu. The atmosphere is nice too - chic cafe with warm, clean colors, multi-leveled seating (watch your step!), and colorful plates (get a blue plate, get a free meal!). The downside to Maries would be the prices. Pancakes are $5 and up; crepes $8. That's certainly not unreasonable in the world of restaurants, and honestly not much worse than an IHOP (and with a lot better atmosphere!) but it is not a place I normally will go without a coupon or a craving. However, send me a special and I will make an effort to head down there for breakfast bliss as soon as I can. read more

Marie has a loyal following of customers. Parking lot is usually quite full for Sunday brunch. Prices are quite reasonable. Nice place to go to take the family out. Plenty of parking available. I love breakfast! It's my favorite meal of the day. So, I love Marie's menu. Good size portions that has good value for the dollar. They do offer burgers and sandwiches if you are not in the mood for breakfast items. Want to carb up? They have "bottomless pit" waffles, pancakes and French toast. I've challenged them on that. They also have great omelets and skillet dishes. Portions are made with 4 eggs. So, if you are not that hungry, get the "mini" size which is one less egg. The staff and service is where I feel they are inconsistent. One day, the young hostess was so bored out of her mind she was literally laying across the hostess podium. That's frequently not the case. Some of the wait staff are sharp as a tack. Others can be mediocre with their service. It can be hit or miss at times. I've had a couple of times where it was a challenge to get a hold of our server when needed. So, in updating my review, I felt I could only give them 3 stars this time. read more

Skip breakfast!! Don't get me wrong. The breakfast selection here is wonderful and is always very tasty. But the hidden gem is the cheeseburger! I typically order mine a little on the rare side with double pepper jack and then have them top it with a fried egg. It's seriously the best burger I've ever had! The pickles that come with the sandwich are perfect for the burger as well as the wonderful red onions. The service is always spot on. Haven't had any issues at all. When it's busy, it's busy. If you want fast food, go grab a crappy McMuffin. It's a sit down family establishment. Next time you're here, go with a burger for breakfast! You'll thank me later. read more

Stopped by for the first time in a Tuesday morning. Not crowded and was seated quickly. Order taken quickly and food received in just a few minutes. Server noticed the wrong toast had been sent as she placed food on table, apologized and had the right toast out to me in just a couple of minutes. Provided plenty of Ice Tea refills and provided an ice tea to go without asking. The Uncle Moose was enjoyable and plenty to fill me up. I've enjoyed going to other Scramblers locations, but will never ever return to this one. As others on here have noted, the problem isn't the food, but rather the service and the attitude. It took way too long to get our food, to get refills on coffee and water and to even get the check. After we left the restaurant, I called them on my cell phone to complain. I felt they ought to know how miserable an experience we'd just had. The response I got was that they clearly didn't give a damn. No apology, no questions, just listened, said OK and then hung up. That told me that the problem wasn't with a single server, but rather with the management. (The other negative reviews on here over their service confirms this) That's when I vowed never to go to Scramblers again. There are plenty of other breakfast restauarants along Sawmill Road and in the general area with more being built. No need to waste my time and money at one that doesn't want my business. Maybe Scrambers will fail, move out and someone decent will move in...... read more

Sunday morning may not be a good measure of the kitchen but my rating is mostly based on terrible service. Seated after just a short wait, the waitress was hot to take our order and food arrived soon. So far so good. Then we were ignored until they brought the check and started to clear food. A f/up would have let them know the poached eggs were way too hard and that grandson needed a go-box. The box was tossed on the table for us to wrestle with. After seeing this place's parking lot packed out come weekend brunch time I figured this place must be serving up some home-some breakfasty goodness. Unfortunately, what I found on a Sunday trip was mediocre service, mediocre food, yuppie infestation complete with massive enclaves of North Face jackets, and again, another side of mediocrity with gravy on top. The food here is very underwhelming. You would be doing yourself a favor money wise, and taste wise to just head down the road to Bob Evan's. At least Bob can make some French toast with Texas toast and not some crappy wheat bread. Portion sizes were quite large and enough to feed at least two, but WHY bother taking home this food? My husband did not see the luster of this place, either. He ordered just a simple breakfast as most places that serve breakfast should be judged by... Eggs, bacon, toast and a pancake, but that proved to be an absolute bore with no flavor, or originality to make them stand out. Even Tabasco couldn't help that shit out. BORING! Plain and simple. Bring Grandma... bring your yuppie friends, but do YOURSELF a favor and just "hasta la vista" this place out of your list of great breakfast dining establishments. read more

A great breakfast and lunch place. Their skillets are very good and filling as are the "Blends" ( scrambled eggs mixed with various ingredients like sausage or veggies). My favorite is the Spicy Baja burrito. Eggs, chorizo and cheese all melted together... mmmm... My GF loves the pancakes and french toast (which is all you can eat). As a bonus, the Kids menu is available to all ages for the calorie conscious. The wait can get long on the weekend, and I think they're only open to 3PM everyday. It's kids friendly, and I think you get free coffee if you have to wait too long. read more

For me and my wife and our two toddlers to eat it cost us over $50...we could have had the same meal at Waffle House and been just as happy and fed for $20....or $30 at Bob Evans. The skillet meals are definitely unique to this place and worth trying if you're not in the mood for traditional breakfast. The coffee is also outstanding and they serve it to you by leaving a pot on your table along with a pitcher of water. We were the first people in here one morning around 7am, we were promptly greeted and seated. Food came out pretty fast. The server forgot to bring my orange juice and brought it when I was done eating. At this point I didn't want it anymore but paid for it anyway. Overall the food is pretty good just expensive. We will probably still eat here from time to time to have something different than Bob Evans since Waffle House is usually too far of a drive for us. read more

Mid afternoon shopping break...excellent service. I like the practice of offering a cup of coffee to go on the way out. Our waiter was very attentive and quick. He apologized for the length of time it took him to reach our table for taking our order, but we hadn't noticed a wait. The diced potatoes that are supposed to be one of their specialties were extremely salty. Other than that, the food was very good, good portions and flavor. No stopping before eatery. You need to stroll crosswise over parking garage to get in to café. Likewise no wheelchair incline by the entryway, it is somewhere around next business in the strip shopping center. Just two handicapped parking spots so we needed to leave in the following line yet needed to stroll down to end of column as opposed to strolling between autos. The spaces are so near one another that my dad couldn't get his walker between the vehicles. Extremely lack of common sense. Flatbread turkey sandwich extremely frustrating. While I really appreciate Scramblers making the effort, and taking the risk of re-opening their dining room, our two recent visits have been sub-par. Today, my Game Day Skillet with "hearty chili" had zero meat. Lots and lots of potatoes, 10 pinto beans, and chili liquid soaking the potatoes and eggs. Terrible. When I asked the waiter about the lack of meat, i.e., the lack of chili, he dismissed me with, "well, it's a meatless chili." Conversation over. He was the same grumpy waiter we had the last time we visited. Not worth the battle. It's already a little over priced and the coffee isn't that good. Best to just wait for Covid to pass and for other venues to re-open. read more

Pretty good breakfast with good portions. If you are ordering any of the bottomless plates, be advised the first portion starts off medium to large and then they begin to shrink in size after that PLUS oftentimes, you wait so long for your second portion, you just aren't hungry anymore. I do not know if this is how they intend it to be so they can charge a surplus for all you can eat, without actually giving you all you can eat.
