The entire experience was lackluster to say the least. Each thing added up to a poor experience. We got there at 1, and they close at 3 so you would think food would be fast. We didn't order drinks and each got an eggs Benedict. Took over 30 minutes for our food and the plates were scorching hot so probably under the heat lamp for a good amount of time. My hashbrown version was supposed to have ham and cheese. I found. One square of ham, and no cheese. by square I mean what you see chopped up on a salad bar. Food was ok, but we had ask for silverware then wait a few minutes for it be delivered. Staff was clearly doing closing duty as there were only 2 other tables occupied. Nobody was paying any attention to each other or tables. I had to excuse myself to get the persons attention to pay.they are so immersed in their clip board they had no idea what was going on. I gave a 2 as my husbands food was fine and mine was not. The restaurant closes at 2 during the week and the lack of service was definitely reflecting their expectations of closing an hour earlier than they actually did. We felt bad for the large group next to us as they waited just as long. We didn't think anyone was in charge as there was not a person paying any attention to items other than their closing duty. Came into restaurant that was freezing, so much so people were going out for more clothing. Waitperson was also the bartender, which made it hard on her and on her customers. Food came out either cold or overdone. I had heard good things, but it didn't happen today. Not sure I will return. read more

Good looked good and tasted decent but portions for what you pay I thought were a little out of whack. I understand food costs are up, labor is tough but honestly it was about $20 per person, add tip and then get hit with a "service charge" because you know, costs are up. This place is fine but the second time I've come away underwhelmed. I did the pick two with eggs Benedict and gumbo. The egg was over cooked (see photo) but not a disaster, but no ooze. The dish was very good otherwise. I like the gumbo but they forgot to include the rice that was supposed to come with it. The service was fine, I sat at the bar. Where Calories Go on Vacation Still exploring my local food map (two years in and I'm apparently still in the tutorial level), I decided to try Another Broken Egg Café. Spoiler: the only thing broken was my self-control. I went all in with Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, sausage on the side (because one sausage is never enough), crispy deep-fried potatoes, and scrambled eggs. The gravy had that peppery kick I like, so naturally, I made it spicier with hot sauce because I enjoy flirting with heartburn. For the "tribe," I got the cinnamon roll French toast, which looked exactly like a cinnamon roll wearing a breakfast disguise. It came topped with fruit, syrup on the side, and scrambled eggs. There was also a side of bacon--just two strips--which felt like a cruel joke. Also grabbed another order of the sausage gravy biscuits breakfast because sharing is for amateurs. Breakfasts here are big, prices are in the $10-$15 range, and they serve grown-up breakfast drinks for when you want to make questionable life choices before noon. Mocktails too, in case you want to pretend you're making questionable life choices. Will I be back? Absolutely. My diet, however, might unfollow me. read more

We didn't realize the place had only been open for three days when we stopped in. That explains some of the kinks in the works. A bit of a wait, slower service but friendly. The food was solid but nothing really stood out. The beignets were good and the pancakes were standard fare. Eggs were nothing special and the omelet was fine, not much structure and just kind of thrown together. Place is good for families and kids. If I could go half a star, I'd make this 3.5 stars. Almost $6 for the vanilla cold brew? For that cold brew to be one small cup where it tastes like half of it is cheap vanilla syrup? Pass. Opt for a plain black coffee instead. Large variety of food options. Eating at 1230 on a Tuesday so not busy at all. The brioche bun on the burger was yummy- the burger itself was standard. We got seated immediately on a Sunday around 11:10am. Our food was not brought out until 12;15pm. There were 6 of us with very normal breakfast item orders. Once it finally came, the kids pancakes were hard/crunchy and missing the toppings they ordered and my daughters order was brought out wrong as well. Although the atmosphere was nice and the adults food was alright, it was just the longest brunch experience ever for what we ordered. Not planning to return. read more

It's a hit or miss... I really do enjoy their food and mimosas (even though sometimes it takes awhile to get your drinks 15+mins). But we went several weeks ago. I had ordered the southern breakfast bowl because it comes with sausage gravy. When the food came out the sausage gravy was not included and my server told us it was on the way... I have been to Another Broken Egg Cafe at Easton different times over the years, but wanted to check out the Powell location. It did not disappoint, I was able to use my email for Birthday Pancakes with Strawberries, and I love getting the Traditional Day Starter with 2 eggs (scrambled), hand made sausage patties, English Muffin, and Potatoes. I got my belly filled. I love their own special House Made Pepper Sauce that is excellent for eggs and meats that gives it a huge kick. Hunter took great care of me and did a wonderful job in serving me. I will be going back to the Powell location of Another Broken Egg Cafe. You do not have to fight for parking and the pay the meter or garage like at Easton, but the Powell location will be busy especially on weekends and midday hours. The ambiance was very comfortable along with the cozy Fireplace there. They have a full bar where they serve Bloody Mary all day. Went for brunch on a Sunday. About a 20 minute wait to get a table around 11:30 am - we knew it would be busy. You can sign in online and check in when you get there. They text you when your table is ready. Food was very good and filling! We had the biscuit beignets and they were really good - lighter than I thought they'd be. I had the Hey Lucy! Omelette with chorizo and cheese, and guacamole- very good and filling! Salsa wasn't bad at all. I got a side of City Grits - delicious and so rich! Coffee was decent. The service was outstanding! Stopped in for breakfast after running in the mud at High Banks metro park. The location used to be a Panera Bread. Very clean facility, including the bathrooms. The server mentioned they had been open for 2 days. Very friendly staff and quick service. The food tasted and looked great (consistent with their other locations). My only complaint is that my poached eggs were over cooked and not runny at all. I wish I could give them something like a 4.9 out of 5. This is a minor issue since I was apparently too hungry to take a picture of the egg after I cut it open. I like the fact they have gluten free options for a running friend. We got seated right away on a Saturday morning at 10:00 and left at 11:30. Food was good except sausage was on the cool side. It took forever to get our food.,The table of 4 behind us got seated after we had ordered and they had eaten their food, paid their bill and left before we did. My husband asked for a manager who never showed up. He asked for the check and we waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come back to pick up our card. He had to go to the bar to see if he could pay there. She dropped it off on the table finally and never said a word. Set never asked if we wanted a box or more drink or anything. It's a shame as I was so excited to eat here after having such a great experience at the Williamsburg, VA location. Very mediocre experience. We were at the table for around 20 mins before we even had water. Our meal came out it three parts, all 15-20 mins apart (meaning two people were served, then three more and then one last meal was brought out 30 mins after the first). Tables sat empty and dirty for 10+ mins with a 30 minute wait time. Food was underwhelming - the biscuits (10/10 on the biscuit) and gravy and spinach omelette were both good though! I do have one silly complaint....i ordered hot tea and they don't provide anything to put your tea bag on after you get it to the strength you want. I think that's reason there are so long of waiting time. By the time we left some 45 minutes to an hour later, it was much more noisy due to the volume of clients coming in.
