We had to take our dog to a vet in Ohio, and while she was there, I got some mother-and-sons time with my boys. They wanted breakfast (of course), and since we aren't from Ohio, we ended up trying Scramblers. The place is small but clean, and it wasn't busy at all when we arrived. Unfortunately, the service was slow. Maybe the staff just needed some time to wake up--who knows--but it definitely showed. I'm not someone who's picky at restaurants (trust me, I know what people can do to food... sorry for the dark thought lol), but our waitress seemed either very new or just not great at the job. The first thing she said was, "If you have any questions about the menu, I'd be happy to help." So I asked her about the Crabcake Benedict--if she'd tried it and if she recommended it. Her exact response was basically, "I don't know. It's eggs on crabcakes. People order them. If you like that, then... but I've never had it." I then asked what she would recommend, and again she said, "I don't know, we have breakfast, it just depends on what you like." At that point, it felt like her opening line was just robotic, because she clearly didn't know the menu and wasn't trying to help. Throughout the meal, service stayed slow. It took a while to get drinks, and my teenager never even got his refill--I'm pretty sure she just forgot. Now for the food: My little one got the signature kids' smiley face pancake, and I had a bite--it was good, and I'm a sucker for chocolate chips. My teen got the breakfast special with eggs, bacon, and toast, and he enjoyed his. I ended up trying the Crabcake Eggs Benedict, and personally, it was a bit too fishy for my taste. Never got to try the food - we were trying to manage our time and when we asked the host what the wait would be (it was busy), he said "we never give time estimates". Eggs benedict was good too, especially since I got a side of yogurt with fresh granola. I really like Scrambler's restaurants and menus. I would give it four stars, except I have to include service in my rating. I have eaten at Scramblers ever since it came to town at least twenty years ago. I most often eat at the one in Powell (3980 Presidential Pkwy.) Today, I was in Lewis Center and decided to eat at the fairly new Scramblers (2 years, maybe.) at 6313 Pullman Dr. I was disappointed and perplexed. The restaurant was only about 65% full the whole time I was there so the wait staff was not overly rushed to get orders in and move tables. I ordered my typical, Westgate skillet I have probably had this well over 100 times over the years and is my go to order. The first server arrived and I tried to give her my order. I guess she was efficient in that she was asking all the right questions. But she was asking them by rote and at a very fast rate. I finally had to ask her to slow down and let me complete my order. I wanted the Westgate, no chorizo, potatoes crispy, eggs over medium. She gave me a look like I had done her a disservice by interrupting her. My order arrived. I am always offered hot sauce which I accept. When the Frank's Original Hot Sauce arrived there was so much dried hot sauce crusted around the mouth of the bottle and under the lid that I was not about to use it. The next time someone came to check on me I showed them this and asked if they could clean the bottle. This server gave me the stink eye as if I was unreasonable to expect the bottle to be clean. She took it and shortly a fourth person showed up at my table with a fresh bottle. They could avoid this problem if when they clear the table they take a few seconds to wipe around the mouth of the bottle. The Westgate was, as usual, delicious. No matter which restaurants I am at, it is always made to perfection. I have no complaints about the meal itself. It gets four stars. Yet a fifth person showed up at my table to see how I was doing. This person was friendly and upbeat. Wow, what a relief. I asked her who my server was and that I was confused because five different people had been to my table. She said, "I am now." She was friendly enough. I was perplexed by the treatment of four out of five people who seemed like my ordinary requests were unreasonable and a nuisance. I am a polite person. Maybe I was not over the top exuberant, but I was very cordial and undeserving of such negative treatment. I want to mention a pet peeve of mine. This is not a problem unique to Scramblers. I experience this at almost ALL restaurants. I just think it is a matter of servers not being properly trained. I can not stand it when the servers do not take what I call the debris from my table. By debris I mean empty sugar packs, empty creamers, squeezed lemon rinds, etc. I always bundle my debris and put it neatly at the edge of the table where the server or bus help can easily see it and whisk it away. How often does this happen? Rarely. I actually include a couple of dollars to the tip of any server that carries this off. I have included a photo so you, the reader, can see what I am talking about. Please, any server reading this, show that you care by keeping the table truly clean. Well, I have ranted enough. I do have an easy solution to this problem. I will never eat there again. I will stick with the Scramblers in Powell where the staff is truly friendly and provides good service except for the ubiquitous problem of debris removal. Despite being a simple takeout order with just one entree and one side they got my entire order wrong. Ordered an avocado toast without cheese but my order had cheese and on top of it they forgot to put yogurt parfait that I paid for. I even tipped the waitress regardless of it being carry out and not dine in. I didn't even check my takeout bag as I trusted her. This is not the first I've had such bad experience and this location closes early (around 2:40pm) than others that are about 10 min drive away and they don't have any integrity or consistency when it comes to fulfilling the order. Took my parents to Scramblers today. It was not crowed at all. There were 6 tables not cleaned the whole time we were there. Waited a half hour for our check. Very disappointed today. The manager was locked in a room came out to help the associates with the register and didn't even look around and ask them to clean the tables. read more

Breakfast is some of my fav food. When I moved to Ohio, I found this chain (Scramblers) and fell in love!! Few things I enjoy: the coffee comes in a whole container for you to pour at your leisure. I can't stand having to flag down my waitress every 5 mins for a little more coffee. Also, they have French vanilla creamer (why do NO restaurants in Ohio have flavored creamer!??). The prices are cheap, but quality is not. Huge portions, always served fast. Always delicious. This is my go to for breakfast. read more

Was not impressed. We came in at 9:00am today and immediately got a seat. Started out well, but quickly went downhill. Took a solid 20 minutes to get our food after ordering. We watched two tables that came in after us get their food, eat their food and were leaving as we were getting our food. Our daughter (2.5 years old) got a smiley face pancake. We near had to give her the heimlich because the bacon on the pancake was so undercooked and rubbery she began choking on it. The waiter forgot our white toast, had to ask for that. He also forgot my husband's pancake which took 15 more minutes to get. We were done eating by the time he got the pancake. Then my husband asked for a iced coffee refill which the waiter forgot to get and that took 10 minutes. We watched waiters try to deliver food to us two separate times that wasn't our food. Another table next to us sat there for 20 minutes before someone even brought their coffee. I watched them stand up to walk out because they were tired of waiting; this was as the waiter walked back over. What seemed to be the manager, asked how everything was and I stated all the above with what occurred in a very professional way (not angry at all) and all he did was cover the cost of 1 pancake..... All in all, I think I'll drive the distance to sunny street at Polaris, even though this specific scramblers is 5 minutes from our house. read more

This is the newest and best breakfast place in the Lewis Center/ Delaware area. It is in front Kroger, conveniently by two banks and other business. Easy access from 23 and Lewis Center Road. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Food was out fast and extremely good. Many menu options not just breakfast items. Definitely worth a stop. Update. We've been to this location four times now. We keep coming back in hopes that the service will improve... but it hasn't. Our last two visits we've ordered bottomless french toast, and never got the opportunity to order more bc our server never came back once our food was brought out. So don't bother ordering bottomless anything. The coffee carafe they brought us was half empty, so of course, we ran out and never got more. We will begin driving another five or so miles to the Sancus location from now on. Four strikes, we will not be back here. read more

After reading some of the previous reviews for this locations, you have to wonder where some people's heads are. This is a relative new restaurant and one cannot or at least should not expect perfection. This is not a 5 star restaurant, but it is a local place to have an affordable breakfast with a bunch of selections. There were a couple other people who came in after we did and were waited on before we were, no big deal. Our server Jackie was a very friendly and attentive server. Today me and my family went to eat breakfast and I had ordered the stuffed French toast because at there other location, That was served but there was a special one too, a chocolate one but I had ordered regular, waited 20 minutes. When I got it back, it was chocolate! One of the managers, Steve was really rude! And, my brother asked for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant and when we got it back, it was on normal bread! Not great. Sure it's a new-ish location, but it's a chain so i was expecting it to be in the same ball park as other scramblers. It was not. 1) I had pumpkin stuffed French toast which i have had before at other locations. There wasn't anything in it, just an orange stain on the bread where the filling should've been. In the past it's been a creamy layer almost like frosting between layers of cake, that oozes out when you cut into it. It tasted ok, but not great. 2) French toast and pancakes are supposed to be bottomless. It's part of the scramblers brand. It wasn't great so I didn't really want any more, but my waitress didn't even offer. She just took my plate and brought the check. 3) Scramblers is running a big promotion where you get money off if you download their app on your phone. My waitress didn't ask/offer before bringing the check so i asked her for the discount... she had no idea what i was talking about (but she did ultimately honor it). At the other scramblers, they ask you every single time with a smile. I really hope this location invests in the staff by training them on all the things that make scramblers great. (You can't get bottomless stuffed French toast anywhere else that i know of, and normally it's amazing.) I love scramblers in general and go there often, but sadly i'll continue going to a different location that's further away even though i could practically walk to this one. read more

Order a One on One carryout order. The sandwich I ordered was a BLT but when I got home found out I received a turkey flatbread. Not only was it not what I ordered but the flatbread was cheap. We went to Scramblers this morning. It was pretty busy but we got seated within a couple of minutes and really enjoyed our breakfast. We had our two kids and my (elderly mother). The server was busy but made time to pay attention to my kids, who are a bit active. It can be a bit embarrassing when your kids are running around a restaurant but the server was very patient. The food was amazing and surprisingly came out really fast. We will definitely be back. read more

I would wait 6 months or so to see if this place gets better or this location closes. My wife and I stopped for breakfast on Oct 3rd. There were only 3 tables occupied at 8:30 am. The waitress was very nice. Took our drink order and returned with juice for my wife and water for me. No coffee, which I had ordered. When our food arrived almost everything was undercooked. My over easy eggs were runny and raw. The sausage was gray on the outside and pink inside. We thought my wife's potatoes were apples because they were so pale. The waitress never came back to check on us so we ate what we could salvage. I finally flagged her down and told her about all of our problems with the food. She apologized and said they had two new cooks. She left and came back with the check (full price) which I paid and left. I'm guessing a management problem. read more

The best breakfast place in Columbus. It's a small company, but the service, food, and atmosphere is amazing. Severs move deliberately, and efficient. Food comes out fast, very helpful if you are on the go and just stopping in for a quick bite. The portion size is better than the rest of the competition of breakfast places in Columbus. You really get what you pay for. They even have kid options for the little ones. If you don't come here you are missing out! read more
