    Biscuit & Gravy
    Emily P.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, delicious food, nice farm-like but upscale atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came here for brunch and we all really enjoyed every dish we ordered. I got the biscuits and gravy and I've never had such delicious gravy before that didn't feel so heavy or greasy. Everything tasted fresh and felt thoughtfully made. All of the servers were friendly and attentive, which made it a good experience for us. I'd definitely come again!

First and foremost, our server was Ce and she was amazing! Super attentive and very funny but helpful. Recommendations were great and it was pretty fast! The SMOKED TRI TIP HASH blew my mind. A base of fingerling potatoes that everyone loved. Stacked with bacon and tri tip. Topped off with bits of broccolini, eggs and a chipotle sauce. It was deeeeelish! The cocktail VIOLETS REVENGE was not too sweet and very good! The ESPRESSO MARTINI was also perfect! Loved it! Overall very nice place to go. Pretty and yummy with great service. I really enjoyed my birthday brunch!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great eats, excellent service (shoutout to Cee) and beautiful decor nestled in Belmont Shore![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [Asian Chopped Salad] -Great for a warm day -Cool, crunchy, zesty and a tad smoky from the roasted edamame -A must have for the table and a cool way to get in some roughage [Bone Marrow] -Likely my favorite around -Hearty, flavorful and herbaceous -Excellent way to get in some natural collagen [Duroc Sausage] -Solid side for some extra protein -Juicy and of great quality [Mac & Cheese] -Creamy, sharp with a great crusty top -The truffle is balanced and adds a bit of umami

The food is good! The eggs are hit or miss, one of my Benedict's was over done and the other was cooked perfectly. The fingerling potato's are flavorful and slightly crispy. The service is good. It's efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is clean and has an upstairs as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loveeee the ambiance here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came here for a birthday dinner and the food and service were amazing! Our server was so cool and friendly! The steak and the fish and chips really stood out to me. The French onion soup is also really good! They have a really nice bar with so many cocktail selections. Can't wait to come back!

Came for drinks. The bar is fully loaded, I've never seen so many whisky options! The food looked good but we didn't order anything from the kitchen.

Located in the old Lucille's building or for those who remember further back, the old Hofs Hut building. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant has a high end modern decor with a rustic vibe for elevated dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located on second street in Long Beach in the middle of a lot of great restaurants, Saint Second stands out as one of the best. For an appetizer I got yellowtail watermelon aguachile and the roasted bone marrow. The bone marrow was so good I will be bringing my Brother to try it. For entrees ordered rack of lamb and Asian chopped salad with salmon. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and so was the salmon. Seriously no complaints the restaurant was great the staff were friendly and our server Mark was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and friendly and great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Oh and for dessert I got coconut panna cotta which was delicious.

This food was amazing and worth every penny. We sat upstairs and the bartenders were great. We ordered three cocktails, a beer, the Parker house rolls, hummus, risotto, lamb, and basque cheesecake. Everything tasted perfect. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We liked that they had heaters upstairs and a tv to watch the Dodger game.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot for lunch or dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was easy to get a table without reservations at the rooftop. Our waiter was very accommodating and it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy our meal and chat without feeling rushed to leave. They checked on us often to make sure we had enough drinks. i was very impressed with the pork belly lettuce wraps they were so delicious.

We went on a vintage thrift hunt in LB on 4th. The row was awesome and very colorful and eclectic. Getting hungry we drove to Belmont Shores 2nd street. Nick's was across the street, a favorite, but wanted to try something new. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Saint on 2nd was a clean upscale place with a cool bar layout and a great upstairs terrace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food turned out to be excellent. The crispy chicken was so crunchy and succulent. The Korean twist was on fire! I loved it. The steak au poivre was on point. Delicious! The wedge salad was chopped for us and it was delicious and one of the best I've had in a long time. Refreshing, creamy, tangy and the bacon was finely chopped and spread on top. The wine selection was also very nice. My gf had a Rose to start which was very tasty. The Pino noir from Solace was delicious. The staff were courteous and informative. Overall a nice place to check out.

Came here yesterday for the first time. I was with my daughter and decided to try this place for lunch. It is a great looking restaurant with a nice second floor . You can sit up there and get a nice breeze and people watch at the same time. The service is also great , the staff is very attentive. My daughter ordered the traditional breakfast and I ordered the classic eggs Benedict. My daughter liked her breakfast ,she especially liked how creamy and soft the eggs were. Her dish came with bacon, a couple of slices of sourdough and some fingerlings baby potatoes. I think that is my biggest complaint. The potatoes are just seasoned with Parmesan cheese and that is all . They aren't sliced, they are seasoned they are just too plain. So much you can do with those potatoes and yet so plain.

Worth a visit! Reservations recommended for their dinner area on 1st floor. We did place our name on the list however made our way to 2nd floor which was self seating, first come, first serve. I ended up liking the vibe and atmosphere here more, considering the lounge seating, outdoor setting overlooking 2nd street, and music that was played louder but still reasonable here compared to 1st floor. We had the braised short rib appetizer, cranberry chicken, and seared salmon. Such beautiful, elevated dishes, flavorful with each bite. I normally am not impressed with dessert at restaurants but to my shock, the smores dessert was everything and more! Decadent, rich, not too sweet, the perfect balance. Drinks, perfection. Please note this isn't a trashy place. The drinks are elevated, with details and what I hope to be housemade syrups and flavors. Annalise was attentive to us, despite how busy it gets upstairs. She was sweet, personable, welcoming! An absolute joy. As was Juan, who was prompt with checking in on us and making sure our table was cleaned as we did have to switch tables when we got booted out of ours. He nudged us in the direction of dessert and glad we did too. Will def be returning.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. Try the Baby Gee appletini while you're there. Mezcal, tequila, sake appletini you ask?? Yes. Trust. And get a hot dog. Do it.

I really wanted to love this place. The vibe was fantastic...great music, a stylish ambiance, and…read morean impressive selection of specialty craft cocktails. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Overall, highly recommend checking out this vibey vintage Taiwanese-inspired speakeasy (that my inner history nerd was so excited about), and I'll definitely be back to try their food items as well as their two other bar/restaurant concepts!

The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We arrived and there were a few parties leaving, we walked to the bar area and the two servers were occupied with other guests, so we patiently waited. Finally one of them approached us and shared the menu, another gentleman came to the bar and he was quickly greeted with a hello and our same server immediately shared the menu. The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. The table side where we sat had a sprite glass bottle and a glass that hadn't been picked up since the last party left. We moved it a side to set our drinks and finally enjoy our conversation. A different server came to the table and asked the gentleman next to us to get his empty glass and she completely ignored our side. She did another round and I finally asked her to pick up the bottle that was left by another party before us. I asked her for the menu again, she brought it but she did say that I had go back up to the bar to order any additional drinks. We decided to not order a second round and head up to the terrace.

I had this place on my "to go" list and I randomly decided today was the day…read more Decide on a lavazza cup of coffee with almond milk. So good! The service? Incredible. The bartender who is also the barista was so welcoming. I love the historical aspect of this building and they did an incredible job with the maintenance of it. The marble and gold and earthly tones which are deep and rich! Sigh! They're open til 10pm... I'll be back

Visited Viaje on a Sunday afternoon for "social hour" (happy hour) and stayed for FIVE HOURS! It's…read moredifficult to find a restaurant with amazing ambiance, service, food AND cocktails, but Viaje cracked the code. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and received AMAZING service from the bartenders Bailey and Randy. Both gentlemen were extremely knowledgeable about tequila and took the time to understand our preferences, pick a cocktail off the menu for us and then explain each cocktail in great detail. Give these guys a visit and I promise you'll be in a good hands! Cocktails/food we tried and I highly recommend: "Hasta el cielo" - The cantalope in this drink is so insanely refreshing, especially right now in this summer heat! "Paloma Blanca" - You'll be disappointed with every single Paloma after experiencing the Paloma Blanca. They mastered their in house clarified grapefruit soda. "Moda Chicali" - My spirit of choice is gin and it's hard to find a cocktail that isn't cucumber and mint. Viaje nailed it with this one!! It's a perfect balance of light and sweet. It almost has a lychee taste to it, even though that's not an ingredient! "Pelon Divino" - If you enjoyed eating pulparindo as a kid, then you'll love this cocktail. I'm not usually a fan of mezcal, but the smokiness is so smooth and almost needed to balance out the tamarindo. Probably the first time I've truly enjoyed a mezcal in my cocktail! "Taco de Pork Belly" - INSANELY GOOD. Pork belly was so crispy and juicy. The pico de gallo was perfect. And the handmade in house blue corn tortillas were DELICIOUS. "Taco de Camaron" - Also delicious. Shrimp was juicy and seasoned well. "Carnitas" - This was recommended to us by the staff and it did not disappoint. The meat fell off the bone and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The black beans were also soooo flavorful and the perfect texture. This dish was enough food for two people to share if you started your evening with appetizers. Viaje is the perfect place for a solo meal, date night or meeting up with some friends for dinner. I will 100% be back and will be telling everyone I know about this restaurant. Keep it up Viaje!

This place really fooled us. The food was a 2-star experience, but the service was absolutely…read more5-star. The staff was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We knew it wasn't a traditional Mexican restaurant, which was perfectly fine, but unfortunately the food just didn't deliver. The ceviche was served in what tasted like a cold tomato soup, garnished with microgreens, cilantro, and other greens. Great presentations but the flavors just didn't work for us. The carnitas were the biggest disappointment. They were served more like barbecue ribs and were very tough. They definitely weren't the tender, flavorful carnitas we were expecting to enjoy with tortillas. The chips were good, and management stopped by to check on us, which was appreciated. I really wish the food had matched the level of service and atmosphere. We didn't want to chance it with dessert so we skipped dessert and after dinner drinks.
