This is our second time here and just as the first it does not disappoint. The food as always is excellent , the restaurant is spotless with a nautical theme and last but not least the service is fantastic. Our server Krista was knowledgeable about the menu, very efficient and has a great personality. Krista if you read this the Xmas card will be in the mail! Highly recommend!

We stopped in St. George for a few days on our drive to/from California to SLC and I read great things about Rusty Crab Daddy so we decided to give them a try. We went about 5 PM on a Monday evening and it already had quite a crowd in there. We were welcomed with a smile and promptly seated. We ordered a crab boil to share with an extra cluster of snow crabs and added mushrooms. The boil came with potatoes, corn on the cob, crawfish, shrimp, and crab and we chose the Crab Daddy special sauce. It took about 15 minutes for it to come out and it was delicious! The restaurant has booths with paper lined tables as well as open tables and chairs in the center of the dining room. Our server was courteous enough but did not go above and beyond for us as some others have mentioned about other servers, hence the 4 stars. However, the hostess/server was wonderful, she came by to check on us, and even went to get us a side of drawn better. We ordered beignets for dessert, which were okay, but definitely not the quality of café Du Monde. All in all we enjoyed our meal and when we are back in St. George visiting family, we'll definitely stop in again!

Have been to Rusty Crab Daddy several times and always enjoy the experience and food!!! Always a great choice when we're celebrating with our family

FOOD the seafood boil is "light," so i wouldn't say there's a strong cajun flavor (despite being the flavor we got). i'd also say the same applies to the fries--they were just regular fries; HOWEVERRR, it was a good kind of buttery, so we enjoyed it :) ALSO WELL-PRICED BTW SERVICE there are a lot of servers moving around, but our server never forgot about us! so we were able to get everything smoothly AMBIANCE there are a lottt of tables inside so no need to worry about that ! + there's lik 4 tv's playing different channels, so i thought that was pretty cool LOL ultimately super cute w super cute decor too

I love Cajun crab boils and seen this spot on several trips to St George but was always hesitant trying a restaurant like this in this town. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch, from the moment I stepped in, the hostess was super friendly and seated me right away. The waitress was super attentive, checked in on me and refilled my water on a good cadence. The gumbo was tasty, with real crab meat, shrimp, and crayfish. I got the crayfish special which came with a cluster of crab legs, crayfish, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. I did the rusty crab daddy seasoning which combines all the seasonings in a hot level. Tasty, piping hot, good quality ingredients. Everything comes out in an inflated bag and the waitress shakes it up and pours it out onto your platter for you. Put your plastic bib on get ready to get your hands and face messy lol. This place would stand up against most spots in salt lake. Don't be like me and avoid coming here thinking St George can't do seafood boils right.

The Shrimp Special

We visited St. George this past week and were looking for places near by to try. Saw the reviews on Rusty Crab Daddy and decided to stop in for lunch. It was the BEST experience all around. Food was unbelievably delicious, crab and shrimp were so fresh and flavorful. Perfectly seasoned! The staff, Kacey was our waiter, were phenomenal. So polite, accommodating, and attentive. Definitely some of the best service we've ever received. Our food came out fast, cups were never empty, and price was incredibly fair. Would come here again next time we come through Utah. Wish we had this in Arizona!

Once again back in St George and out trying new places. My wife and the rest of the group wanted seafood and this place has it all. When we arrived the lot was pretty full and we got the last 2 spots. Once we walked in we were greeted right away and a table was available. We were seated promptly. The table and restaurant were clean and comfortable it wasn't too noisy even though it was busy. Our server Bryden came over right away and got our drinks going. Shortly after we placed our orders. There was some confusion with wanting to sub out shrimp due to a shrimp allergy but we worked it out. It did seem off that you couldn't sub something due to an allergy but what can you do. I'm not a seafood person so I got some chicken and fries. It was ok but this isn't a chicken joint so I wasn't expecting perfection. The huge boils came out and were massive. There was plenty for everyone and nothing was left behind. Everyone really enjoyed all the different morsels and I don't think much was left. Overall the service was good as well as the food. We would definitely visit again.

Went on a Thursday evening and the place was packed. Still got seated quickly by friendly staff. Plenty to choose from including non seafood options. It would seem pricey but two people can easily share one bag of the seafood making it very reasonable. My son, whose birthday we were celebrating was very happy. The seafood wasn't fishy and the spice was great making it overall a great meal!

Beignets
Christi A.

Outstanding service and fantastic food. We ordered the shrimp crab boil and fried flounder basket. Tons of food, all of it was delicious! Shrimp were large and well cooked. Batter on the fish was light and crunchy. Polished off dinner with an order of beignets. You do not want to miss the beignets. Fabulous!!! Service was outstanding and our drinks never got close to empty before our waitress brought another refill. We will be back for sure!!

Lobster Special, wonderful!

Spasa was the best waitress we have ever had. Very informative about the menu, service was excellent. Food was delicious and served hot and fast. Jumbo Fried shrimp is delicious and the lobster special was perfect. We will be back soon, hopefully Spasa will wait in us!

Shrimp, potatos, corn on the cob, eggs,

Absolutely Amazing service!! Food was epic! Our waitress, Angie, was smiling, and sweet. Atmosphere was fun and cheerful.

The service is impeccable, and training that has been given to the staff shows with everything they do. Their service is really that good. My problem is with the food and the poor plating. Normally everything tastes absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately, lately we have been going on Sundays when the chef is not there due to our schedule. The last time I went, I think we found Jimmy Buffett's lost shaker of salt in my Gorgonzola topping for my steak. It was so salty I actually had to scrape the topping off just to stomach it, and eventually just stopped eating altogether because it hurt my tongue so bad. It's been 24 hours since I tried to eat their food, and my tongue still has cracks in it and hurts to move. That is an abnormally large amount of salt. The "Flambé" wasn't just a little salty, this was clearly a salty mistake that was made in the kitchen, and they couldn't care less that it had happened. The crème brûlée was curdled and the staff had issues serving the wine. We ended up with no apologies, even after kindly and respectfully voicing our concerns. With so many better choices in St. George, I probably will not be coming back.

From the moment we arrived, every dish was exceptional. The salad was fresh and beautifully prepared, the pork belly was absolutely outstanding, and the steak was cooked to perfection with the most incredible seasoning. Every bite was memorable. The biscuit was unreal--warm, comforting, and honestly one of the best I've ever had. What touched me most was the homemade ice cream. One spoonful instantly brought me back to childhood memories of my dad making homemade ice cream for us when we were kids. It was such a special and unexpected gift to relive those moments. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Parthee. She was absolutely amazing. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made us feel so welcomed and cared for. She didn't just provide excellent service--she made our night. Our family has been through a lot, including the heartbreaking loss of my sister. Father's Day hasn't always been easy for my sweet dad since then. This evening gave us something precious: a new happy memory together. We placed our appetizer and drink orders and later dinner. We simply ordered the trout, crab Mac and cheese and I ordered the duck. The Water Mellon Pork belly came out first. The pork belly was tough and hard not like times past. We really needed a steak knife and 1/2 of the 2 portions we ordered was not edible. The trout and crab mac came out and I waited and waited not 10 min but nearly 30 minutes for the duck. I spoke to our waitress and I think the manager and they kept saying it takes more time to prepare. At about 25 minutes I canceled my duck as my wife and friend were done with their meal. I was given just excuses and no explanation. I suggested that since they KNOW the duck takes longer to prepare they should have started that first. I was told by the two I spoke too that they put in the order and it's started in that order so my duck was last. So the so called Chef's who should know the duck takes longer blew it along with the wait staff. In every restaurant setting I've been in, the chef would to start what takes longer first so the table of two or more would be served at the SAME time. But not here at Wood Ash Rye. As mentioned this was one of at least four other times here. But in our years absence, the familiar faces were gone, the so called Chefs looked like line cooks and the wait staff was clueless on how to make things right. Sad....we won't be back.
