Slade is a really good server. The four cheese and pear pasta with added mushrooms is a delicious treat! It's so comforting and yummy! The atmosphere is good and the views are amazing! You can also bring your own bottle of wine for a $15.00 cork fee. There is also a wine and beer menu but no premium liquor or bar.

Vegetable pasta soup... with steak added

We made a reservation for 745pm. We stayed at the inn adjacent to the restaurant. We had asked for a window seat specifically for my birthday. The restaurant said they would do that for us but we may have to wait which was fine. We called and confirmed again and told them again it was for a birthday dinner. Staff seated us away from the window and nothing was available. Didnt allow us to wait which was disappointing. Order the filet two glasses of red wine and a vegetable pasta with steak added on. The vegetable pasta looked like a pasta soup. It had good flavor but was a mess to look at. Steak was prepared well and placed on top of tasteless potatoes. No mention of the birthday. Waitress was not attentive. Really just a poor end to an overall good day. Service needs work.

We had the ribeye, cliffside burger, calamari, clam chowder, and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious! Calamari had bits of pickled jalapeños with just the right amount of flavor. Clam chowder was best I've ever had and the steak and burger were delicious! The views both from inside and outside were epic, especially at sunset. Our server was super friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back!

    Swordfish special was amazing

Love this place. View is amazing and food always good. Was brought here for lunch by business colleagues and loved it. On my next visit to St George I brought my wife here. She also loved it We had the squash soup and fish of the day. Bread service was delicious and we scoffed it down. Appetizer was the squash bisque. Full of flavor and delicious I ordered the swordfish special and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly Service was great. Can't wait to return

The swordfish I would rate 4.5 out of 5; it was a good size portion but a little dry. The cilantro lemon rice was a 5 out of 5. The Seared Idaho Red Trout 5 out of 5. Four Cheese & Pear Pasta 5 out of 5. All the desert choices were 5 out of 5. The service from the receptionist to our waitress, Kelsey, was OUTSTANDING! Kelsey was phenomenal! She answered all our questions, made suggestions and even though she was working several tables we never felt neglected. She was a 10 out of 5. The only drawback was the ambiance. There needs to be some type of evening dress code. Nothing formal but gym shorts with flip flops, ball caps and sweat pants detracted from the overall ambiance and fantastic views. The drink selection was good as well.

Husband and I came to St. George for a weekend get a way after fighting some bad depression. We wanted to enjoy. My husband got the steak burger, he said it was really good. He was a little disappointed in the fries, but over all good. I got the Baja fish tacos and they were amazing except the actual fish. The toppings 5 stars, but but fish was so wet that the crispiness was just gone. The server was amazing, Jared went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience overall a great time and beautiful place. Lemon-lime aid =phenomenal

Service was good(very friendly just a bit slow). We enjoyed clam chowder, trout, and steak with a beer each. The restaurant was super cold inside, so plan accordingly. We did not feel rushed at all, it was a very relaxing meal. The bowl of clam chowder was huge and my husband really enjoyed it! The view is stunning.

The views here are absolutely spectacular! Even after sunset, it's stunning to see the twinkling lights of the town below. The interior is clean, modern, and well maintained, creating the perfect atmosphere for a special night out. Our server, Nayar, was a delight--personable, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The bread was soft and fluffy, served with a delicious whipped herb butter. The spinach salad was thoughtfully split into two bowls for easy sharing, and the dressing was fantastic! The cheese and pear pasta was incredible. I don't usually order pasta, but I couldn't resist this unique pairing--especially after Nayar's recommendation--and it did not disappoint. I added salmon, which was perfectly seared and a generous portion. My boyfriend ordered the trout, which was also cooked to perfection. The crème brûlée was amazing (and I say this confidently, as it's my favorite dessert, so I've tried many). The highlight here is the elevated presentation, as every plate looked beautiful, along with the stunning views. Great value for the price. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening out and definitely plan to return!

If you are by the old airport in Saint George and are hungry this is a convenient place to stop. Has a nice view of the Temple and Zion in the distance.

Make a reservation, bring your favorite person, and prepare to enjoy a good meal. There is not a bad seat in the house. Sit outside if you can. Every dish we've eaten here has been excellent. Fish, chicken, or beef, every offering has been well thought out. Every side pairs well. The steak is perfectly cooked medium rare. All steaks are sous vide. The coconut shrimp was delicious. The risotto and vegetables are always perfect texture. Service is paced well, never intrusive. Restaurant is clean.

Fish dish was terrific. I think it was halibut.

For goodness sake, unless you love waiting for a table, make a reservation. This is a very popular restaurant for good reason. Also, while this restaurant may be connected to a hotel, it's no generic hotel restaurant. It's a very good restaurant with charming indoor and patio seating, a terrific menu, and lots of drink options, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. The rich and creamy butternut squash soup is absolutely fantastic. It is a must order. The clam chowder was good and hearty but not amazing. I went with the very popular steak burger. It's delicious but mine was served on a very hard bun which really wasn't the best. A softer, more flavorful bun might have been better. The dish comes with about a some excellent Parmesan French fries. I almost never order fish at non-seafood restaurants but the special fish dish of the night (I think it was halibut) was light, flaky, and wonderful. They've got interesting beers and wines but the non-alcoholic Italian sodas--which come in about ten different flavors--are outrageously good. Our server was excellent. He was polite, friendly, attentive, and gave good recommendations. This is a lovely restaurant. Make a reservation.

Everything here is absolutely perfect. Couldn't believe a hidden gem of this restaurant is in the city. The view was phenomenal and the service from Jay really makes us feel very welcome to the area. The food was tasty and not to mention the price is affordable for such an experience! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

We came for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. While this restaurant is definitely considered fine dining, you won't be disappointed by the portion sizes. The flavor was incredible. While the atmosphere inside is fairly simple, it does not lack class. We enjoyed the mood of the restaurant as well as the incredible views from the windows. I'd highly recommend it. Our waiter was very kind and they helped us celebrate with the cutest little dessert.

It definitely did not disappoint! I had a bit of a hard time finding this place as it's in an industrial area and kind of hiding, but it was worth the journey. For my drink, I ordered the blackberry smash, which was a mule with a fruity twist. It was delicious and much stronger than other drinks I've had in this area. For my meal, I went with the highly-acclaimed fish and chips, which did indeed live up to their hype. The fish was perfectly fried and the fries had a good bite to them. I also really enjoyed the fry sauce that tagged along with the dish. Our server was also wonderful and made helpful suggestions throughout the meal. This was a great experience and I would definitely return for future meals when I'm in the area!

NOT A BREWERY EXPERIENCE…read more We stopped in expecting a typical brewery experience and were disappointed. We came specifically to try a flight, but were told that alcohol could only be served if we ordered food. That's understandable, but when I offered to order an appetizer, we were then told we could only get one beer with it, not a flight. The whole interaction felt unwelcoming, like our business wasn't really wanted. We would have happily ordered an appetizer and multiple beers, but instead were essentially told to just get beer to-go. We've visited almost every brewery in the state of Utah and hundreds of breweries across the country, so we're very familiar with how they typically operate. Being told this was "state law" felt misleading or, at the very least, poorly explained. Also worth noting: they close at 9 PM every night, which is quite early for a place presenting itself as a brewery. In our opinion, this is much more of a restaurant than a brewery, and it would be better advertised that way. Thankfully, we found a nearby spot (Station 2 Bar by Zion Brewery) that was far more accommodating and gave us the brewery experience we were looking for

We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

The Painted Pony in St. George, UT - A Cozy Gem with One Miss (Pass on the Crab Cakes)…read moreIf you're looking for a solid upscale dinner spot in downtown St. George, The Painted Pony in Ancestor Square is a strong choice. Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

This visit, driving back to LA from Monument Valley. Also made a pit stop for gas. The location is just off the freeway in a little strip with a hotel. Which I've stayed at and tried this place for the first time. It's alway packed here so it's a good thing for them. It was about 30 minutes wait when we walked in but got seated around 10 minutes later. Busy of course. Menu wise, there's literally everything on it. It's like reading a newspaper. There was three of us and a mixture of meals was had. I alway love the chicken fried steak here. It's a massive potion so be warned. There's a smaller order but why not go big. That's served with gravy, house potatoes or hash browns, eggs and biscuits. The biscuits alone is the size of a baseball. Then the tri tip meal with onion rings and cole slaw. And a chicken Cobb salad. Let me just say, the size of the salad was enough to feed 2 maybe 3 people. It was enormous. Food wise, everything was good. The only thing this time, the chicken fried steak was a bit overcooked and crunchy. Even with the gravy, it was still too much. But besides that, the meal was nice. Service was amazing. Our waitress was excellent. Don't remember her name but she was so sweet and friendly. Refills were always touched up without asking. Everyone working was a doll. You pay at the register up front where there's also a little gift shop with everything. Apparels, toys, souvenirs, slippers down to boxers and pajamas.
