I have to preface this review by saying I'm from Las Vegas so I'm spoiled. My wife and I were seated at an outdoor table, which had incredible views. That and a glass of wine were pretty much the highlight. I think the restaurant depends on that to bring in clientele. We were given a table that had not been cleaned and there was no tableware. It was roughly 10 minutes before we were greeted. When the waiter did arrive, he was very nice and did his best to compensate for other shortcomings. My steak had little to no seasoning. My wife did enjoy her salmon entree. So on balance, the location and views are great, the food mostly mediocre. Pricing is middle of the road. Certainly better than Vegas!! read more

Exceptional Service from the wait staff! Truly an experience to have dinner and seated near windows that overlooked the city. Food was good and the venue was top notch. Overall, I'm a bit unimpressed. For a $51 plate, I really shouldn't be served soggy bland frozen vegetables. They legitimately were the bagged veggies you microwave... 5 stars would have been the outstanding panoramic view. Service was superb. Waitstaff Brooklyn was attentive but not intrusive. Her knowledge of the day's specials were delivered with accuracy and a smile. Their take on the Philly Cheese steak (with the chef's spin) was interesting. As one who has partaken an "authentic Philly Cheesesteak" from Pat and competitor Gino's....if it ain't broken don't fix it. Everyone plays around with French fries so I didn't mind the parmesian cheese french fries...tastey, thin, sprinling of salt, and a good snap. Companion's BLT was selected in her mind before we arrived. I daresay for a BLT it didn't disappoint. However, she's targeted the pear pasta for her next visit. The spirited lemonade sported a mason jar, rimmed with a garnish of fruit. Lovely to look at and massive to drink (no worry a "to go" cup was provided). Table loaf of fresh baked bread (served warm) and accompanied by an herb butter stimulated appetites as anticipated. Dessert was a lovely piece of rich, carrot cake topped with roasted pecans (and a "to go" box). A gorgeous day, a satisfying meal, impeccable service, and great company. Slade is a really good server. The four cheese and pear pasta with added mushrooms is a delicious treat! It's so comforting and yummy! The atmosphere is good and the views are amazing! We made a reservation for 745pm. We stayed at the inn adjacent to the restaurant. We had asked for a window seat specifically for my birthday. The restaurant said they would do that for us but we may have to wait which was fine. We called and confirmed again and told them again it was for a birthday dinner. Staff seated us away from the window and nothing was available. Didnt allow us to wait which was disappointing. Order the filet two glasses of red wine and a vegetable pasta with steak added on. The vegetable pasta looked like a pasta soup. It had good flavor but was a mess to look at. Steak was prepared well and placed on top of tasteless potatoes. No mention of the birthday. Waitress was not attentive. Really just a poor end to an overall good day. Service needs work. read more

We had the ribeye, cliffside burger, calamari, clam chowder, and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious! Calamari had bits of pickled jalapeños with just the right amount of flavor. Clam chowder was best I've ever had and the steak and burger were delicious! The views both from inside and outside were epic, especially at sunset. The swordfish I would rate 4.5 out of 5; it was a good size portion but a little dry. The cilantro lemon rice was a 5 out of 5. The Seared Idaho Red Trout 5 out of 5. Four Cheese & Pear Pasta 5 out of 5. All the desert choices were 5 out of 5. The service from the receptionist to our waitress, Kelsey, was OUTSTANDING! Kelsey was phenomenal! She answered all our questions, made suggestions and even though she was working several tables we never felt neglected. She was a 10 out of 5. The only drawback was the ambiance. There needs to be some type of evening dress code. Nothing formal but gym shorts with flip flops, ball caps and sweat pants detracted from the overall ambiance and fantastic views. Husband and I came to St. George for a weekend get a way after fighting some bad depression. We wanted to enjoy. My husband got the steak burger, he said it was really good. He was a little disappointed in the fries, but over all good. I got the Baja fish tacos and they were amazing except the actual fish. The toppings 5 stars, but but fish was so wet that the crispiness was just gone. The views here are absolutely spectacular! Even after sunset, it's stunning to see the twinkling lights of the town below. The interior is clean, modern, and well maintained, creating the perfect atmosphere for a special night out. Our server, Nayar, was a delight--personable, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The bread was soft and fluffy, served with a delicious whipped herb butter. The spinach salad was thoughtfully split into two bowls for easy sharing, and the dressing was fantastic! The cheese and pear pasta was incredible. I don't usually order pasta, but I couldn't resist this unique pairing--especially after Nayar's recommendation--and it did not disappoint. I added salmon, which was perfectly seared and a generous portion. My boyfriend ordered the trout, which was also cooked to perfection. The crème brûlée was amazing (and I say this confidently, as it's my favorite dessert, so I've tried many). The one star is for the view. I ate here with a large group and maybe had the worst steak of my life. Someone in our group called it "bad wedding food". I asked for my steak medium rare, it came like a leather boot. The waiter never checked in on food after it was delivered to us. He just came to take plates away. He also told the other end of the table that they could order from the main menu and not the pre fixe, which I do not hear and he did not repeat. The whole staff except for the chef also don't seem to understand what vegan means. That was a large challenge for them. I won't be going back here ever again. read more

For goodness sake, unless you love waiting for a table, make a reservation. This is a very popular restaurant for good reason. Also, while this restaurant may be connected to a hotel, it's no generic hotel restaurant. It's a very good restaurant with charming indoor and patio seating, a terrific menu, and lots of drink options, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. The rich and creamy butternut squash soup is absolutely fantastic. It is a must order. The clam chowder was good and hearty but not amazing. I went with the very popular steak burger. It's delicious but mine was served on a very hard bun which really wasn't the best. A softer, more flavorful bun might have been better. The dish comes with about a some excellent Parmesan French fries. I almost never order fish at non-seafood restaurants but the special fish dish of the night (I think it was halibut) was light, flaky, and wonderful. They've got interesting beers and wines but the non-alcoholic Italian sodas--which come in about ten different flavors--are outrageously good. Our server was excellent. We came for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. While this restaurant is definitely considered fine dining, you won't be disappointed by the portion sizes. The flavor was incredible. Come to Cliffside for the views-- STAY FOR THE FOOD!! Wow! I mean, the gimmick of Cliffside is expected-- the drive up and the views are super fun to see... The complimentary warm sourdough with herbed butter is one way to start out a positive review from me-- and honestly, I could've done this warm, and simultaneously crusty and soft sourdough all day long... but... I'm glad I practiced some restraint because... I was NOT expecting EVERY SINGLE DISH to be so sensational! I'm SO GLAD that I went whole hog and ordered BOTH appetizers that looked appealing-- the Cranberry Pesto Balsamic Glazed Mozarella Crostini was SENSATIONAL-- what a fun twist on bruschetta! And the Cornmeal Calamari with Banana Peppers was equally delish-- and if you shy away from peppers, no need to for this dish-- they deliver all the flavor without a spicy kick. It was a perfect day for clam chowder... and I'm so glad I ordered a bowl... plenty for two, and chock full of clams and potatoes... a hardy soothing soup! My husband ordered the Cliffside burger, and took much of it home-- it is enormous-- and the parmesan fries are divine and plentiful too. The sourdough bread is super fresh and delicious. The Italian soda is also amazing perfect amount of sweet and carbonation. My boyfriend really liked the beer, the smell, and the taste. The Parmesan fries with the sauce are also really good, could be a little crispier but overall I love a soggy fry sometimes. The pear pasta was delicious! I do think serving sizes compared to pricing is crazy! Pear pasta came with no protein and was 25$, to add 5 slices of chicken was 9$???? Good thing it was delicious. My boyfriend got Cajun pasta which I think could have had more sauce and seasoning. We waited around 40 mins for our food... which I did expect it a little late but not that crazy. I also overheard the server next to my table say they ran out of cheese sauce for pasta before we had our food, so I'm thinking that's why my boyfriend's food was a little dry. I would definitely return but maybe at an earlier time so we don't run into them running out of things and quicker service. read more

We're visiting from another state and our local friends brought us here...the ambiance is fantastic and the view is stunning. They also have outside seating available. We had the ribeye special, topped with grilled shrimp over whipped potatoes and asparagus. So yummy and cooked perfectly! Others had salmon and they said it was also great. The sourdough bread starter with herb butter is so delicious! They have a limited beer selection and a nice wine list. Our server, Alyssa, was fantastic! She made great suggestions for things to enhance our choices. She also had very snappy comebacks and played along with all of our joking...we love that! I didn't take any pics of the food, because we were busy living in the moment! A must try for special moments, bringing visitors or just to sit back and enjoy the view. read more

Location. Fantastic location on top of a bluff with views of the entire city. The restaurant is newer and clean and beautiful! Lively modern decor. Comfortable chairs. We had about a 10 min wait on Saturday for lunch About noon. You can call for reservations but we hadn't. It was our first time visiting. We had 3 adults and 2 small kids. Prices are reasonable and food quality is very good. They have a kids menu. I'll post a photo of it. I had the soup and salad. Clam chowder is very good and a Caesar salad. I did not like the cradle dressing. It needs a complete overhaul. The salad lettuce was very fresh and comes with a load of fresh baked break and herb butter. Dan had the steak burger with bacon and Parmesan fries. Amber had a very rich and good sandwich and she like the Parmesan fries a lot. The boys did too. Caden had the kids pasta with Alfredo sauce and he liked it. It's a large helping so they had leftovers for dinner. Connor had the pasta with red sauce. He also liked it. They both had a fruit cup as the side. Amber ordered the special root beer float and it was very large and great. Highly recommended We want to return for dinner and Dan wants to try a steak. First time here! Wow the views were amazing. We had a group of 10 for dinner. The food was worth it. I had the rosemary chicken , my friends had 4 cheese pasta with salmon and one with chicken . So of the others had the ribeye. Everything was wonderful. We had a young waiter Donte who was amazing he was knowledgeable, personable and very kind. We all loved him. Usually restaurant with a nice view means the food is subpar, but not at all here. Everything we ordered was delicious, the highlights were the calamari and pear/cheese pasta, and save room for their desserts--everything is made in house. But what really set this dining experience from others is the extraordinary service provided by our server, Tina! You can tell she loves her job and takes pride in providing the best hospitality and service. She overhead that we were on the run, we had to head back home to Cali and so she had the food all come out the same time. When I exclaimed how large their lemonade was, she told me I can take the rest in a to-go cup for the ride home. So attentive and sweet. read more

This time we asked our concierge for a recommendation for a nice restaurant suitable for an anniversary dinner, and all three spoke almost in unison: "Cliffside". The view is fantastic. We arrived as the giant super moon was coming up and it was absolutely stunning. We entered and were seated really quickly all the way back into the small area where there was a large party. Again, view was fantastic, but we could not hear each other even talking loudly. Server was so amazing and moved us. Main dining area wasn't nearly as loud. We ordered and again, the food just isn't that amazing. The shrimp appetizer is frozen coconut shrimp with orange marmalade. It was identical to the coconut shrimp we get from Costco, but not cooked long enough. It's amazing. I called to see if they had room service and they said yes they did. I called at 2:59 and the person did not mention that the kitchen closed at three. I called back at 3:01 to place a simple order of a bowl of clam chowder and a Caesar salad and the manager would not do it because they had a really busy lunch. I even offered to walk down and pick it up. Pretty disappointing had a long day at the hospital. How long does it really take to pour a cup of soup and a salad? Our first visit to Cliffside was absolutely wonderful. We had a little trouble finding it at first as our GPS was confused. Beautiful views. Dante, our waiter, was engaging and helpful. We enjoyed the brussels sprouts particularly! Wonderfully roasted to a delicious crunch and generously topped with bacon and Parmesan and a balsamic glaze, they were plenty for two of us and we even took a few home. Definitely will get that again. Others have recommended the crostini as an appetizer... It was good , but we would definitely try something different and a little more interesting next time. I enjoyed the four cheese pasta with pear and spinach, rich and satisfying. I added a skewer of five shrimp for just nine dollars. My husband got the special which was surf and turf: tenderloin with shrimp on mashed potatoes. We arrived at 5:30 and the red cliffs were a glow and even stepped out outside after dining to take a picture, which is welcomed. Then on we went to enjoy a show at to a con.
