The view is most spectacular. I was seated immediately. I had made a reservation. The specials were described - unfortunately they indicated they were out of the short ribs. I ordered the steak instead. The interesting thing is that the table next to mine was also told the specials, after I ordered but it included short ribs. The inconsistency was confusing. The steak was fantastic - soups vide, perfect temp. The brussel sprouts and potatoes fell short. The service was very good. The views made my evening. read more

First off great view jt adds to the flavor but not just enough to change the score. Got the ribeye, clam chowder,Cajun pasta penne and the 4 cheese pasta with chicken on both. First off don't get the 4 cheese pasta ts hella buns but the Cajun one lowkey carried. The ribeye is a thin steak and not good after the first 3 pieces the veggies were better. My friends brought me for my birthday. It was a little pricey but the food was really good. I got an Italian soda and a veggie burger with fries. They also brought me out a little birthday treat. They were able to accommodate our large party and the view is nice but they wouldn't seat us closer sadly plus there is lots of parking. They forgot some of the items for a few folks in the party but overall service was polite and fast. Huge portions!! Run like a restaurant should. Beyond fabulous. I am traveling solo and decided to treat myself to a good steak. Great is an understatement! I got the surf and turf special and literally melted in my mouth. But beyond the food being perfection, the atmosphere and staff are top notch! Top notch! Everyone is pleasant with a smile and being alone I watch everyone and everything for my 'entertainment'. The staff had each other to lean on. The girls bussing tables and resetting were working double time. Very busy Friday night. As a guest of the hotel I assumed I would have no problem getting a table for one. Don't assume this is a sleepy joint. Popping off! Make a reservation! But even without a reservation I only waited about 45 minutes...and could go back to my room which helped because NO BAR TO WAIT IN. But that is part of the charm. The views over the city lights were amazing, I have stayed at this hotel numerous times as I drive to Los Angeles frequently from Montana and Colorado but never took the time to enjoy this amazing restaurant. Highly recommend. Even if driving through. ((Hint: you can order to go and sit by pool over the cliff )) So impressed with the kindness and real effort put into my dining experience. Prices are not cheap but not backed up by excellence. Just a couple kudos...nayar my server was the best and attentive but let me enjoy myself! My husband and I went here for our 36th wedding anniversary celebration. The views were STUNNING. The food was amazing! My husband ordered the filet mignon and he said it was the best steak he has ever had and we've eaten at quite a few steak houses including some Michelin Star ones. Road trip to Utah's National Parks and this restaurant was recommended by locals. Beautiful view from most any table. Started with their refreshing house #Lemon-LimeAde with delicious #CoconutCrustedShrimp. Food: 5/5, unique flavors which surprisingly worked well together and tasted amazing. I love the chance to order something you couldn't get anywhere else. Most of the menu is "normal" though so don't worry if you are picky, there's something for you. Ambiance: 3.7/5 it is a pretty view but it lacks slightly in this regard, I think the music choice could've made the difference! Also, I'm sure it's even better when the weather is warm and you get to sit in the balcony . Had reservations at 5:30. We were sat down immediately and waitress advised us of specials. We ordered drinks, sorry only beer and wine. No hard stuff. We had broussel sprouts for an appetizer, very good. I ordered the Trout, OMG so tasty and delicious. My wife orders the salmon well done( sorry she likes her fish well cooked) she was not happy. My mom, whom we were celebrating her 88th birthday ordered chicken and fried chicken with mashed potatoes. She wasn't happy , lack of flavor. The waitress was a little disappointing on her service. She took awhile to clear the table and get a box for leftovers. I was hoping for a better meal for my mom and wife. The views were amazing though. read more

After searching on Yelp and other websites, we decided to have a nice special dinner here at the Cliffside Restaurant. The restaurant like the name indicates is on the top of a cliff in St. George giving you an amazing view of the city. Reservations were made weeks in advance. We waited a few minutes for a nice table by the window. Service was good by our server. She was attentive to our needs and was good at suggesting foods that she thought we might like. We ended up ordering a butternut squash soup, a clam chowder, a chili glazed salmon and a rib eye steak. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The butternut squash soup was a little sweet yet a little savory. My wife liked the clam chowder. The chili glazed salmon was moist and had a great flavor to it. The rib eye steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was a great meal. The Cliffside was the perfect restaurant for us for our special occaison. read more

I have been ìn St George now for three days and I haven't found a better restaurant than this one. The service from the minute you walk in at the host station, to the servers and bus staff, the courtesy and attentive training are obvious. The view from this restaurant day or night is amazing. Overlooking the city of St George through large windows, almost all tables have a view. The lighting and cozy feel makes for a relaxing experience. I started with the butternut squash soup. It was creamy and earthy and topped with roasted almonds and micro greens. It was excellent. The first night I had the Salmon because I had heard so many good things about it. It was delicious. The salmon came chili glazed with a mango salsa, and served with a coconut rice pilaf and seasoned vegetables. The flavors all blend well with this plate and I highly recommend. The second night I opted for the Ribeye. All of the steaks here are pre cooked by way of "sous vide", where the streaks are vacuum sealed and placed in 110 degree water for an hour. Then the steak is grilled to your liking and brought to the table. The result was the most juicy and flavorful steak I have ever had. Alcohol choices are Beer and wine only. The wine options has by the glass and bottle selections with a decent choice of wines from the west coast of the US and Italy. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and looking for some fine dinning. I will definitely be back. Cheers! read more

We had two young kids with us and the owner gave us goodies for them. The view is stellar and made for a beautiful experience overall. I got the chili salmon and my husband got the ribeye! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Utah. This place could get away with subpar food because the views are enough - that is not the case. The food is delicious. The burger was great. The complimentary bread is fantastic. And the pear purse pasta is one of my favorite dishes I can think of, I get it every time. I've been here so many times, so I feel my review is a bit overdue. This is one of my favorite places in town. When I have visitors I like to take them here for the view. The service is usually good, and they do have beer and wine for those who prefer that type of drink. I usually get a steak for my meal but I'ved tried the pear pasta a few times, a chicken dish, and tonight I tried the trout for the first time. Tonight I think we had our best entrees here. My husband had a special that came with brussel sprouts (which I hate). He forced me to try them and it was pretty tasty. The goat cheese (which i love), honey sauce and the way they were crispy fried had a lot to do with that I think. My trout was huge. It came with a pesto couscous and lemon butter that really complemented the dish. I didnt care for the cranberry on top because it reminded me too much of cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving but I still could eat a bit of it. The only negative tonight was one of our desserts had a bit of egg shell in the crust on my 3rd bite. I usually dont speak up when things like this happen but I did inform our waiter who asked if we would like another one. I didnt feel like another after that. The manager actually called me after I left to ask if she could take that dessert off the bill. I was pleasantly surprised. I do wish they offered a full bar but not a deal breaker. Review #004 - 2024 I rarely ever walk out of a restaurant wanting to write a review right away because it usually means I wasn't too happy with the establishment, in general. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly right away by our hostesses. We were seated in less than five minutes. I was contemplating whether to sit inside, where the A/C was nice and cool or outside, where it was 90°. We eventually decided to sit outside under the shade so it wasn't too hot. The view is well worth the minor discomfort!! I ordered the calamari appetizer for us to share, but my daughter was too busy enjoying her lemon lime-ade so she didn't even bother to help me at all. I don't blame her because the lemon lime-ade was perfect for the warm weather. But it was huge so I told her not to finish it! She had the kid's grilled cheese meal with parmesan fries and it too was huge! She barely made a dent in her meal so we had to pack it up. Her meal also came with a kid's vanilla ice cream sundae, so I am sure she saved room just for dessert. My salmon with mango salsa was probably the only item that I was disappointed with. The salmon was super salty. When I overheard the two girls next to us complaining about their salmon salad being salty, I thought she was just making a big deal, because she said it was only certain bites that were salty. When our waitress, Amanda, came to check us, I was pretty hesitant to tell her that my salmon was super salty because she is such a sweetheart! She was super sweet and accommodating! She went into the kitchen to get them to make me a new piece of salmon because I was actually really enjoying the coconut rice and green beans that came with the dish. Unfortunately, the second piece of salmon showed up, unsalted, but I noticed it had a weird taste like it was already going bad. I cook salmon very often and I can tell right from the first bite that salmon leaves this weird sensation on your tongue when it's no longer fit for consumption so I mentioned it to Amanda and she was super sweet to remove it from our tab and even offered me a complimentary dessert. Unfortunately, because I can't have too much sugar, I had to decline her kind gesture. Even though, everything didn't work out as I had hoped, but Amanda and the manager went above and beyond to resolve my concerns. This speaks volume that the restaurant takes their customers concerns into great consideration and it definitely warrants a 5-star review. We made reservations as we heard this place can get busy on weekends. As soon we walked in, the amazing views are stunning. We decided to sit inside because of the summer heat, but I could totally see us dining outside if weather permits. The place is clean, spacious, and of course we came for the amazing views of St George! Our server Tina was extremely friendly and courteous. Plus, Ashlee and Bella at the front desk were very friendly as well! Thank you for making our stay at the hotel a wonderful experience! We ordered the Cliffside Steak Burgers and they were cooked perfectly! I loved the fried onions and how it paired well with the bacon. My burger also paired well with a local brew, Cross Fever Amber Ale. The Braised Beef Quesadillas were delicious, just wished it had less cilantro lime sauce inside (made it too messy and drippy). We did enjoy the salsa that came with it on the side. The coconut flavored rice was different, but interesting. Options for Kids meals for $10 (see photo for kids menu). Comes w/ a drink, a side, and ice cream for dessert. My kids had the Buttermilk Chicken Nuggets. These are NOT frozen and are freshly battered here. Kids loved it! We drove in from a long day at Zion Park and wanted to take our friends to a nice restaurant before we went back to Mesquite. We have always had a great experience at Cliffside and this time was even better then the others. Katie was our server and what a great personality she is and has! Made us all feel so welcome and comfortable. This young lady is going to go far, whatever she does in life. It was noticeable that the other servers were also enjoying their tables also, speaks volumes about the management. The food was, as always outstanding!! We had Chicken Fried Chicken, Tortellini with pear, the summer Squash soup was incredible and the Sole was to die for. It's a beautiful room and what a great view of St. George. Thank you, what a great spot to refuel after a great day in Utah. We'll be back. I'd leave a 10 star if I could. read more

Let's start with the good stuff: The view is incredible. Just as advertised. Our server Alex was very attentive and extremely honest when I accidentally overpaid by $100. What could be improved: We were staying in the hotel for our wedding, but we're giving no preference on seating near the windows. The food was incredibly uninspired and not very well presented. We rolled in because we were hungry and it being a Friday night, places were packed. This was our last stop a To attempt to eat local before we got fast food. The wait was only 10 minutes. I think we got lucky. We seemed underdressed but the staff was super welcoming. We were seated right next to an amazing view overlooking the city. Our server was with us shortly. He was amazingly patient with our kiddos while they worked through what they wanted. Would ask them questions and not look to us for answers. It was amazing. Food was great. The special was a Cajun mahi that I attempt to get but it was already sold out :(. Such is life. The waiter made a recommendation for the Idaho trout and his recommend was spot on Overall, it was an amazing experience for a family that was just passing through for the evening. Chicken fried chicken Well...... the last time we were there my sister-in-law had it and it looked great a tenderized breast well breaded on top of a great mash. This time she wanted to go to Cliffside again she is visiting from Texas and it was so good last time I ordered it with her. What happened? Two tenders on top of mash with salty gravy? First thing she said was "this is not what I remembered". Still like the restaurant but I think a fail on the chicken, the salmon is always great. Oh and what about the bread a dry hoagie roll? Staying next door at their hotel my husband and I decided to check out this restaurant for dinner on one of our nights. We made reservations for 7 and definitely glad we did. Walking in the restaurant was very busy. The host greeted us and let us know that our table would be ready soon. We waited about 5 mins until we were seated. Our table was right next to the window so we got the gorgeous view to go along with our dinner. We were greeted by our server and told the specials for the night and then brought our drinks. We decided to try their lemon limeade which was nice and refreshing. A little tart and a little sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Having asked the host what was good on the menu we took her suggestion and got their pear and cheese pasta with steak added to it. We also chose to get their soy glazed chicken dish. The food came out pretty fast but while we were waiting we were brought some warm sourdough bread with butter. The bread was soft and light with great flavor. When the food arrived it looked delicious. The pasta was well cooked and the flavors were great. The pear added a nice crunch and the steak was a great addition. The chicken dish was awesome. It was well marinated and the charcoal from the grill gave it extra flavor. The veggies they served with it were crisp and fresh and the risotto was delicious. The food was so good that we actually ordered it the next night to be brought to our room and enjoy it on the balcony. Overall between the food, service and atmosphere I will definitely come back next time I am in town. I would also recommend it to anyone looking for a great date night. read more

The view and the story of this restaurant are lovely, but the hype might have been geared more towards its romantic atmosphere rather than the food. It's close to five stars, but fell a little short this time. I felt as if maybe there could have been a new chef working. I ordered the rock fish which was cooked to perfection, but unfortunately the cream cheese overpowered the fish itself (new chef or perhaps a new ingredient experiment?). The cream cheese just was necessary. Then the molten cake didn't come out right, it was over done (though the milk chocolate inside had a nice smooth flavor). I'd also like to see more than a sliver of strawberry and single blackberry on the dish. Fruit does so much for chocolate. On a more positive note, the atmosphere and staff did a wonderful job, even while training new staff. The cork fee is low ($15) for us wine aficionados. Bread at the table is always a good way to start (plain butter would be nice). The wedge salad & butternut squash soup were great appetizers. I love a good butternut squash soup, this one tasted like fall and even had little hearts to help us celebrate Valentine's Day. My husband loved the way his Filet Mignon was cooked and we both enjoyed the flavor of the mashed potatoes. Next visit we will likely try the creme brûlée for dessert. We went here for an anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly surprised. Our server Cassidy was on it and very helpful with meal choices. We started with the Brussel sprouts and they were good but maybe roasted longer. My wife had the staff favorite, four cheese & pear pasta that was a bit rich for her, but we brought it home, and it will definitely be eaten. I had the chili glazed salmon with the butter sauce on the side. I'm definitely glad I had it on the side because it was perfectly balanced without the sauce. The rice underneath, glaze on the salmon that was done just right, and the ripe mango on top were perfectly paired. We will definitely be returning. read more
