The best bite belongs to the beef chimichanga, PIPING hot, huge, and well seasoned. The pasole was also good, kid 3 was delighted to see it on the menu and it too, was piping hot and full of flavor. The Chile Relleno platter is where it went wrong. The poblano and the cheese together was perfect as usual, but they used whole scrambled eggs (not just the whites) as the outside batter and cooked it like an omelette, not fried like a Chile Relleno. Fascinating that this place has earned almost 5 stars over so many reviews. One red flag at any Mexican restaurant is when food comes out too fast - especially when you order enchiladas and these need to bake for ~ 10 minutes before serving. Our food came out fast but it was too fast - my enchiladas were obviously pre-prepared filling quickly wrapped in tortillas and put on a plate. Lacked flavor, texture, appearance. My wife got the mole chicken and it was a little better but still underwhelming. The rice and beans were bland and not flavorful at all. Even the chips and salsa were disappointing. The service was nice and polite but we just were not impressed with the food at all, and in a town with so many good Mexican restaurants, we had higher hopes. read more

This places was recommended by a friend and on our way to NV we stopped by to try it out. Food was yummy, I had the red Mexican Chilaquiles. My boyfriend had the small pork torta ( it was quite big for being a small) :). We were seated pretty quickly, got our drinks and complimentary chips ans salsa shortly after. We both had the mole' problano enchiladas. My wife had chicken , I had pork. I was hoping for a chili relleno, however not on the menu now. The mole' was really good, mabey a little sweet. However, not alot of meat. Rice and beans were alright. Salsa was tasty but very watery. We prefer a thicker, chunky salsa. Prices we're very reasonable. Staff were very friendly. A great find! I needed some serious eats after weeks of intense hiking and backpacking. Irmita's came up in a search, and homemade mole sold me. It did not disappoint! So authentic, scratchmade, and next to impossible to find any this good north of Mexico. Service was friendly and super fast. I'll be telling my local friends about this place, and stopping by whenever I'm in the area! My wife & I went to Irmitas for the 2nd time. We went once before and did not care for the experience so we haven't been back for a couple of years. The service was absolutely atrocious! The waitress brought our meal and never came back to check on us. We had to go to the front for our check. The food was not authentic and my wife's tostada bowl she said was tasteless. It's in a house and there is outside dining as well. My enchiladas were flavorful as well as my rice and beans. The taco wasn't as good and the chips and salsa were not my favorite. Best Mexican food in St. George by far! We keep trying places and this one wins. You feel like you are dining in their home, the ladies greet you with a warm sweet smile and the men are in the kitchen. We started off with chips & salsa, they were very good. Moved on to the breakfast burrito which was huge. Inside was steak, rice, beans, lettuce and tomatoes. It was delicious oh and yes salsa. My husband has the traditional Huevos rancheros and they were extremely good, also a huge serving.
