Best Mexican restaurant surprise in St George! Come & try it. We'll be back soon! Try the Chimichanga.

A very nice pleasant place to eat. Good ambiance which seems a notch above most Mexican restaurants. They immediately served chips and salsa (one mild, one "spicy"). Sadly the mild salsa was an over blended conglomeration with little distinctive flavor. They should walk a block down to Angelica's and steal their mild salsa/pico which is one of the best I have ever had. The salsa and chips are your first introduction/impression to the meal, so they must be done right. I ordered the Carne Asada and my wife order a single fish taco ( She is a small eater). My Carne had a very good charred flavor. It was slightly over cooked and came out a little tough. It would have been great had it been tenderized. The rice was acceptable and the refried beans were quite good. Now, here is where it falls apart. My wife's fish taco was "fishy" which means a strong flavor. When our server came over we told him of the "fishy" flavor. He asked if she liked it and she said no. His response was "sorry about that." Really? It was a five dollar taco not a $75 filet at a high end steakhouse . The server should have been empowered by management to immediately rectify the situation and asked; "Would you like something else?" How simple. But "sorry about that" is the truly worst response you can give to a customer. Management at Sabor should address this and train their staff to satisfy the customer. The food could have been five star gourmet, but you never treat a customer like that, never. I couldn't give Sabor higher than a three because of this terrible breach in customer service. We won't return. read more

Great service and really good food. Ordered to go. They got it out quickly. Nice staff

While visiting the St. George area, we stopped at Cafe Sabor for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Elydia, was very attentive and promptly refilled our drinks and chips whenever she noticed they were running low. The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. The chips tasted freshly made, and we were served two salsa (mild and hot) both packed with flavor. The hot salsa was not as spicy as I anticipated but well seasoned and tasty. I ordered the combo plate with two hard-shell shredded beef tacos, served with rice and refried beans. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. My husband chose the veggie fajitas, which featured a nice medley of mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and zucchini. He requested black beans with no cheese or sour cream, and the rice and beans plate included a dollop of guacamole. His meal also came with handmade flour tortillas that were soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated immediately, and our meals arrived within just a few minutes. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and if we're ever back in the area, we would definitely return. read more

We came here on Valentine's Day! I got to say they were so nice and fast here! It was a busy night but our waiter was visiting us often keeping our water full and helping us have a good time. We got sat in the basement which I think is their banquet room. It was super nice! The food was super tasty and came out so fast! I would definitely recommend this place and come back soon! read more

I've never had a quesadilla that had the cheese fall out onto the table . Usually it is at least melted. The place was so cold that I may not ever want to return. A hot day outside is no excuse for an exceptionally cold AC read more

Place was loud down stairs but upstairs was pretty nice. Our waitress tried but her support was terrible. The bartender didn't serve us and after waiting 25 minutes we cancelled our order. Food when it finally came was marginal quality but for Mexican food in Utah it was ok. I can't recommend. read more

We came in on a Sunday right before closing. The staff was kind and didn't at all rush our meal. We love Cafe Sabor in Logan and Bear Lake, this location was just as good as their others. This is a cute spot on a quiet corner in St. George. This location seemed to have a bar upstairs, though we didn't venture that way. We sat in a comfy booth downstairs. We had our favorites--combo plates with enchiladas and a chile relleno. So good! read more

Came in for some churros late night for my kids. As soon as we walked in with my husband & his best friend, my sister in law, 2 of her kids, my little brother and my 3 kids, one of the waitresses ran in the kitchen without even greeting us. Extremely rude of her to do that without checking what we were in there for. We were only looking to get churros to go not to sit in and dine, I was clearly aware of the time as we walked in there around 9:40pm and they close at 10pm working in the restaurant industry myself, i understand the rules about the kitchen taking in last orders and what not. When she finally decided to come out of the kitchen and greet us I explained that I was only there for a to go order of churros. She took my order and 25 minutes later I received my order. 2 big plates of churros with a bunch of chocolate sauce and caramel dipping sauce which had spilled all over the bag. I asked the guy that gave me the bag if he can fix the mess he had handed me. He took the bag back to kitchen or somewhere only to bring it back the same way. It was a mess to take out of the bag and made everything sticky. I paid for my food and even left a tip just to receive the worst service possible. We also went into check out the menu because we were looking for a place to eat the next day but after all that we will never be back. We ended up asking for an extra bag and napkins and cleaned the mess up ourselves and switched the stuff over to the clean bag. read more

Stopped by on our way back home after a wonderful family getaway. Kids, pets and grown ups with personal preferences this place was the perfect stop. Our hotel recommended Cafe Sabor for dinner, which turned out to be a great recommendation. Service was excellent and so was the food. The chips and salsa were delicious! Husband had a tostada, very good and generous size. I had pasta, also very good. Nice welcoming atmosphere. read more

I don't know why it's taken us years to try out this restaurant, but I'm happy we finally did. We came about an hour before closing. I ordered pollo Durango which was delicious--the chicken pieces were stewed with onions and mushrooms in a creamy sauce; the meal came with cheesy refried beans and flavorful rice. The plate was blistering hot even after we finished eating, so that was awesome. My husband didn't love his meal; basic shredded beef hard shell taco (not fried), a cheese enchilada and beef tamale. He was hoping for some pork. Ending the experience with hand-dipped chocolates from The Blue Bird Cafe in Logan was a pleasant surprise. I thought it was a joke when someone reviewed chocolates at this Mexican restaurant. Paxton was a great, attentive server. He cleared dirty dishes, kept our drinks refilled, and brought a takeout container but didn't rush us or make us u comfortable about being there after 9:00 (they close at 10:00 on weeknights). Now I want to try their other locations in Utah and Idaho. read more

The servers were so friendly and awesome. The food was excellent. So good that my husband ordered an extra taco. My taco salad was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. read more

Mixed feelings this time. I gave Sabor 5 stars last time. Let me tell about the good and bad. The booking process for a table was remarkably organized. I'm most impressed with this part of the visit. Wish other restaurants were as efficient. Our waiter was problematic. Forgot to bring water and never checked on the water. He was fast getting us the check. Now the food. the quesadillas were amazing. The chicken chimichanga is prepared in advance in bulk and fried and there is barely any chicken in them. Much different than my last visit sadly. I asked for chimichanga without cheese and the waiter came back and said they buy them already prepared and they all have cheese. The chips and salsa are to die for wonderful. read more

Took 45 minutes to deliver the wrong food. Kids meals never showed up. Drinks were never refilled.

We've stopped here the last two times we've visited St.George. It was right next to our hotel so it's quick to walk to for dinner a couple weeks ago and asked to sit at the bar. The hostess took us upstairs and sat us at a table near the bar, but we asked to move and sit at the actual bar. The bartender was friendly and was in top of the service! Went there Saturday night a couple weeks later while in town and again went to sit at the bar. Eliza was excellent as well, got into a great discussion with her. She was on top of our service and great with recommendations on the food. I highly recommend to sit at the bar, it's open seating and you'll have great service. Even if you don't drink, go sit at the bar! Next time there's a wait, take advantage of the bar area. read more

Yummy food and good people. They are always busy so that should tell you something about how good it is.

I've been to cafe sabor twice now and both times were excellent. I tend to be a creature of habit and order the same thing every time, I got the combination fajitas and oh my. I crave them weekly. They are so delicious. Shrimp is a little scant but the chicken and beef are plentiful. The zucchini was an odd addition but it is so tasty! Their tortillas are so fresh and delicious and even though the meal comes with 3 (there is meat enough for 9) you can ask for more and the waiter will bring them out fresh. It's a lot of food. Definitely meant for 2-3 people but I just eat ad much as I can and take the rest for lunch the next day. Cafe sabor is my go to for those combination fajitas. My husband also got a burrito (can't remember which one) and loved it. We will be back! read more

Hayden is an amazing bartender. He looked very attentive and cared about his customer service. Thanks bro

Went here to have dinner with my nephew and my travel buddies. We had a great time and the food was delicious. Just one note...take heed...the wait time to get seated can be long since this place is popular with tourists and locals, so I do suggest using the wait list system here on their Yelp page, if reservations are not available. We were able to walk in and only waited a short 10 minutes. Now on to the food and service; both great btw. I had their Shrimp Enchiladas and was not one bit disappointed, actually I would have seconds (maybe even thirds and worry about my over stuffed stomach later) if offered. We did the usual "try mine" taste test around the table and not one dish had an issue to me, will...maybe a little bit over seasoning with the cinnamon in the molé sauce, but that's just my own personal preference, but it was still tasty. The servers were like watching ants, constantly busy, the place was packed but our server was always in reach for anything needed. The mix drinks were refreshing, I suggest the Raspberry Mule, a nice balance of tartness of ginger with the sweetness of the raspberries. read more

Just left Cafe Sabor, the waitress served us our food and couldn't zoomed of any sooner. I noticed she kept checking in on a certain individual presumably her boyfriend as she sat with him for 3 minutes. Never did she come over to ask if our food was okay, or if we needed anything else before zooming off. When I caught her I asked for a straw mind blowing I know. She then bring the bill back, unfortunately for the business they lost our service as my husband and I were looking forward to ordering dessert for Valentine's Day... I'm pleased EVERYTIME I come into this place. Be prepared for a wait time if you come on a weekend, luckily we came an hr after opening, so it was a quick table. I always try a dif dish on the menu. They start you w chips and salsa, a mild and a medium salsa. Both are delicious! Today we ordered the guac appetizer. It was not creamy, but instead it was chunky, I enjoyed it! My husband ordered a burrito, it tasted as good as any! I ordered tortilla soup, it comes w a small quesadilla sliced into 4 pieces, which I gave to my toddler. The soup tastes like a chile negro base, I thought it was the perfect temperature and taste! I only wish the spoon was a soup spoon instead of a baby spoon haha! They were out of churros, but I know they're usually very delicious. They only offer two desserts- churros and fried ice cream. Any one you choose is good! I love this place. read more

We love Cafe Sabor! But have not been for about 1 year. This time our food was horrible. I had the chile verde. It tasted like dry meat with water on it. Don't know if ownership has changed, or they are using new recipes, but I will not be back. read more

We've been customers for years and today we visited Cafe Sabor in Garden City. I ordered a Quesadilla and the cheese was orange instead of yellow it actually didn't taste like real cheese. i think he's trying to cut corners but the prices are still up there. That will be our last visit. read more

Outstanding experience at Cafe Sabor! Our bartender/server Aubrey made our visit truly exceptional! We came in close to closing and she was very friendly and welcoming. She was incredibly professional and demonstrated impressive knowledge of both the restaurant's menu and the St. George area. Aubrey went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious, but Aubrey's outstanding service really made our evening special. She's clearly passionate about her work and it shows in every interaction. We'll definitely be back, and we hope to have Aubrey as our server again. This was a good experience, if I lived in the area I would frequent this spot. Good food and great service, winning combination. There was a little bit of a wait since it was a Friday night at dinner time, but we got in quicker than I anticipated. Took maybe 30 min? Hostes was super friendly and our waitress, Katie was awesome. Even though they were busy she was very attentive. I always had a drink, she never let me go thirsty! Chips and salsa were yummy, I liked that they bring out a mild and hot salsa, both were delish. I got 2 beef enchiladas, my wife got a Carne asada taco. Both were really good. All in all, a win. If I had anything to complain about it would be the noise, it was super loud in there, so much that it was hard to have a conversation without yelling. It's not really the falt of the business, just os many people in there during a busy time and a couple of loud tables near us. So I can't knock the business for that, I'm sure during a less busy time it would be a lot more peaceful. read more

Fantastic food! They always have great specials and the portions are very large plus a great price!

Busy, busy, busy! Get ready for an experience! The customer service was great and people were friendly but for the wait, I expected the food to be more fresh. The beans were watery and the rice was dry and the quality of shrimp was mediocre at best. The flavors were really good but the freshness quality lacked for me. When I chose to go out, it's because I'm expecting to have a good meal so that fell short. Despite that, I would give it another try but if the ball is dropped again, it would be a hard no. read more

We had an issue with getting our food that led to the 3 star review. Most other tables received their food and some were even finished before our party of 3 received ours. After we ordered drinks, it took a while to get those too. We did have chips and salsa to keep us occupied while waiting, and those were good. And more waiting! We were told the kitchen misplaced the ticket. Our server offered apologies and also had told us he was new. One would expect something complimentary, maybe a dessert or drink, after the fiasco. Apparently they do not operate like that. Cuz we were offered nothing! The upstairs "cantina" was fun, and that is where the bar is. Most tables were occupied when we dined there. As for the food, when we finally got it, the fish taco was excellent! Two of us had it and were so impressed. I also had a shrimp taco, which was good. Prices for the food were relatively moderate, and I would say overall it's affordable. I loved the Zion Brewery choices on draft, and got a sampler of 3 of those. They also had a Modelo special, I think it was $3 for 24 oz. Alcohol prices were fairly affordable. There is a candy display near the register where you can purchase sweets from a local business. We were there May 1, and they had a sign on the front door that masks are optional. It was the first time here for all of us, and it's unfortunate that we had such a negative experience as far as service. But the fish taco was one of the best I've ever had. So there's that. I will get some next time I visit if they are still there. read more

Good food great service but loud. That sums it up. We got here early because we knew it would get busy. We were seated quickly and our waitress got our drink orders immediately. She also brought chips and salsa and they kept coming till we got our meals. I had a Mango Cart beer on the recommendation of our server and it was really good. The Cali Chimichanga was really good lots of flavor. My wife loved the molé sauce, it was not too sweet and not too much peanut flavor. Even thought they were busy we never felt rushed or pressured to eat and leave. I will definitely be eating here again read more
