There is a distinction between authentic Mexican food and Americanize Mexican food. This was better than expected for Americanized. Drinks were tasty. Salsa was spicy but chips are not house made. I had the chilli verde burrito. Green sauce flavor was good, portion since was solid for price. They use real cheese not queso. I saw quite a few bad reviews for service. I didn't see that at all, not just at our table. Folks were hustling and doing there job adequately. read more

We went in today for taco Tuesday. We ordered six tacos for the two of us of which two were fish tacos two Asada tacos and the other two were the pork. The fish tacos were dried up some consisting of some kind of deep fry fried cheap thing they called fish. The Asada tacos had no flavor. The meat was bland. It was obviously stored in a container since noon we came in at 3 PM. The pork had no flavor as well. The tortillas were cold and stiff. I always enjoy going to the restaurant in St. George where it's always a different experience and a positive one it's been the second time or third time we've been to the Cedar city restaurant and it's terrible every time. Was so surprised and happy to see that Cafe Sabor has a spot in Cedar City now! We stopped in for lunch with the kiddos and had a great meal. The staff were friendly and quick to get us a table. After lots of chips and salsa (their salsa is great!) the meal was more than we could get through. Leftovers the next day are just as great though -- so we were happy for a couple of days. read more

Cafe Sabor offers free fried ice cream on one's birthday, a tasty horchata beverage, and shrimp tacos and salads. It was one of the best Mexican food restaurants in our area. I can highly recommend it to others. read more

Wow! Tried Cafe Sabor on the recommendation of the front desk clerk at Springhill Suites by Marriott and thanked her very much. I've eaten here twice, so far. First time had chicken tortilla soup and a Baja Fish taco w side of beans and rice. WAY too much food but that was my fault. Excellent soup and fish taco. Today tried the chopped salad w shrimp, also excellent. I'm just visiting here one more day but will be eating here tomorrow before I leave! Highly recommended! read more

We stopped for lunch at Cafe Sabor on our way to St. George. It was delightful! We shared an appetizer (carne asada fries) and entree (pollo Durango) and loved them both. The portions were generous such that we had to abandon a portion thereof. It was sad since I really wanted to try either the flan or fried ice cream - oh well... They brought us to our table, 1 other customer in the whole restaurant and proceeded to leave us sit for 10 minutes without one person noticing us sitting there. I noticed this place while I was in Cedar City as it's close to a number of the hotels. I was told they had recently just opened, so I decided to try it out. The place is nice inside and the service was very friendly and attentive, but I didn't actually care for the way the food was prepared all that much. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas, which goes for $16. The enchiladas were quite spicy as there was a strong green jalapeno type sauce used in the dish. This preparation was much different that what I would ordinarily be accustomed to at a Mexican restaurant. The food here was not really bad, just not for my taste. read more

Absolutely amazing all around. Their fajitas were so good, big enough for 2, and prices were great. My husband got the chimichanga and that bad was huge as well. They have a great chocolate bar that was a super fun added experience. Again with prices more then reasonable. BUT why I really wanted to come on here was to tell you about their horchata! I hope I have Connors name right but man does he know how to make them! I live in So-Cal and locally they are a thing. I have never had a better horchata in my life. Homemade fresh on the spot and for 3.50??? I would have paid at least 6 and had free refills? What??? Lets put it this way...we got food from a different location each night but I would order to go 3 for my family with each meal we got elsewhere because they were that good! Traveling to Cedar city for work often and find myself in this place very frequently. Food is great, service is fast and friendly, beer is cheap. Chips and salsa flows non-stop (chips made in house). Meat is good quality and portions are healthy. Shoutout to James, Amy and Katy behind the bar to make sure your food is as fresh as it can be and provide great conversation. Would recommend 100%. The only reason there is one star is because I can't leave the review without a star. I can't believe anyone goes to this restaurant at all. I went when it was first open in Cedar and it was HORRIBLE!!!! Service and food both!!!! So here I am again giving it a chance and whelp let's just say BOTH AGAIN WERE HORRIBLE!!!!! Went at 5:10 so as u can imagine not very busy. We were seated in the bar and it took the bartender 10 min to even come and great us. Then it just got worse. It was $2 dollar tacos and when our food finally came out (a good 25 min) it was cold!!!! So when the server/bartender finally came to check in I sent the tacos back. While waiting again for another 15 min all the other tables got their tacos!!! Mind u those tables had only been seated maybe 20 min total‍‍. So finally fed up I walked up to the bar asked for the check and proceeded to tell them how unsatisfied I was and they only took off my 3 $2 dollar tacos and proceeded to blame the kitchen. I've been in the food service industry and I also know here in Utah by law u can't comp or take off alcohol but u can food and for it to not even be offered was ridiculous. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GIVING IT ANOTHER CHANCE TO SAY THE LEAST. DO BETTER!!!! read more

Busy place. Lots of selection on the menu. Our waiter "Walter" helped us with all of our selections and was very friendly! The food was very good but different than what we were used to. My chili relleno and crispy sweet pork taco were great. My hubby didn't care for the sweet pork on his taco salad. The chili verde was excellent according to our friends. After dinner we were surprised with a yummy free dessert of fried ice cream with caramel sauce to celebrate their birthday!!! It was so yummy!! This little gym we stumbled on because another place was closed that we wanted to go to. First of all the food was incredible. Really really good! We had the Shrimp Fajitas and they were delicious. It was a very busy time, and yet the staff was incredibly accommodating and kind. We have eaten here several times, and the food is delicious. The service is friendly and prompt, and this restaurant is clean. Kyle makes a great margarita, and Hannah is a personable and attentive server. My favorite here is the seafood enchilada, but their fajitas are wonderful, too. This cafe is located across the street from the Marriott Courtyard and a block from the Comfort Inn. We travel through here several times a year and always stop so we can enjoy Cafe Sabor's delicious food. read more
