I was so pleased with my visit at Cafe Sabor today! I am quite familiar with Cedar City and there aren't very many food options around. The new store is so cute and such a well needed addition to the town. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. They have a full bar with lots of fun drinks and a large menu too. The Baja Chicken Pasta was SO good! Perfect spice and so creamy and delicious. I meant to take a photo before, but it looked so good I forgot to before I dug in... The carne asada quesadilla was great as well. I can't want to come again and try more! read more

New to us, and right in the parking lot of our Courtyard so we walked over. Great service, we were quickly seated and served. Great menu. We wanted light and simple, so we shared the 3 entree platter with a soft taco, a hard shell taco (ground beef - my passion) and a cheese enchilada. Plate arrived VERY HOT and it was lovely in presentation. The salsa here is a bit on the spicy side, but they have a mild you can ask for and it toned it right down.....very fresh roasted salsa- cilantro and spot on flavor. Good guacamole, too. Rice and beans were delicious, margaritas were perfect. I saw a beautiful plate of Fajitas served nearby and the fresh tortillas were steaming. I am a taco connoisseur of ground beef tacos and this was a perfect "10" for me - the quality of beef, the tenderness and the flavor was just right. We will be back - again and again. read more

The food, service and ambiance was good. I ordered a Oaxacan old fashioned, it was pretty good, if you like smoky drinks. Totally recommend. They offered me tortillas chips and salsa. I had the chicken taquitos. They were pretty good. I appreciate the fact they used queso fresco instead of the yellow cheese. I'll definitely go back! read more

Salsa is good. Service is acceptable. Do NOT order anything with carne asada; they cut your carne asada into tiny pieces and you get about 2 Tablespoons of meat sprinkled on your entire plate. That's ridiculous and if you want more carne asada, they charge you for it. You're not getting what you should proportion size in the first place and then they have the nerve to charge you for what you should have gotten and are already paying for ?? I DON'T THINK SO. This is specific to Cedar City location. We are at the St. George location many times and their carne asada is more than plentiful on whatever dish we order. Are these mini restaurants franchised? Is that why the manager/owner of Cedar City is running his location on a shoe string budget with the customer paying the price?? We have now gone back to Brodies for our Mexican food when we are in Cedar. When we are in St. G, we go to Cafe Sabor on St George Blvd for plentiful food at a fair price. read more

We stayed in Cedar city and came across café Sabor. When we went in we were not expecting number one, the level of service and number two the excellent food. We ordered the guacamole which is not mashed like most restaurants they're kind of in sliced chunks with the tomatoes and the onions and the lime so good. I had a pork taco and a beef taco my husband had beef enchiladas. All I can say is that the meat was excellent it was cooked all the way through the pork was marinated it was so good I would highly recommend this place. Next time we come to Cedar city this is definitely going to be a must on our list and again the staff and the food everything was very good!!! read more

I took some friends for dinner and had an awesome experience. Our server James did a great job keeping our drinks full and making sure we never ran out of chips. By the way, I love the spicy salsa. We ordered on the phone and the poor girl got everything mixed up and left off some things. I ordered a care taco which the neat was really hard line cooked in micro wave and the child relleno had a huge I melted slab of cheese in the middle, unable to eat it. New restaurant in town but they have others in St George and Logan and I have heard from several co-workers how much better the other locations are. I'm trying to like the place but the service is the big problem. Food has always been reasonably good and appears to be made fresh. It rather expensive when compared to the other 14 mexican food places in town. Recently visited and it was 2 hours (no joke) from the time we ordered it until the meals arrived. Rather than apologize, staff just made excuses and attempts to justify. Not sure where the problem with the service is. Will likely still go there because thats what we do in small towns read more

We were here a few days after they opened. It is conveniently located to hotels (we were staying the night on a road trip from CA to CO). The service was wonderful and food delicious. We live in St. George and passed through cedar and decided to try the location here, all I can say is it was AMAZING! We got greeted and seated immediately, food and drinks came quick, delicious, and our server Hannah was great and not overbearing but very attentive and sweet hopefully she gets the recognition she deserves. Best Mexican food in Cedar! We love Mexican food and have tried so many Mexican food places in Cedar with disappointing results. Cafe Sabor has a liquor license with all the favorites including Cadillac Margaritas, and beer on draft with reasonable prices. The complimentary chips & salsa both mild & spicy are delicious. They make their own tortillas. Food was fresh, seasoned expertly and absolutely delicious. I got the shredded beef supreme burrito smothered in two types of sauce, guacamole and a scoop of sour cream, wrapped in a soft, thick, house-made tortilla, just scrumptious! Great size portions, reasonable prices and fast, friendly, efficient service. Ambiance is comfortable, booths and lots of tables & chairs to accommodate large parties. We highly recommend this great Mexican restaurant, it has become our favorite go to for yummy Mexican food & cocktails. read more

I was passing through Cedar City and my hotel is right across the parking lot. Starving, I went in to order a quick bite and go back to the hotel to eat. The menu is varied and everything looks great so I went with the sweet pork quesadilla. Not only is it beyond delicious, I could feed 3 people - the portions were huge! And it came with the biggest bag of chips + salsa I've ever seen! Go to Rubio and pay for chips and for $3 you get literally a handful of chips. We got our food to go and the service was amazing! When we got home and enjoyed our dinner it was so fresh and delicious! My husband got the Burrito Supreme and I got a Taco Salad with chicken. We really thought we would like this restaurant since they have multiple locations but after eating here I was just confused how they have stayed open. Drinks are fine! Decent beer/margarita selection. Honestly drinks were the best part of the meal. We tried a huge variety of things- tacos, enchiladas, burrito and apps. We left with a feeling of 'meh'. The decoration is modern and the place is clean. The food is horrible. I asked for a chicken tortilla soup and it was really bad. The soup was only caldo with pico de gallo, some avocado y tortilla strips. The flavor was horrible!!! My husband asked for the black beans soup and it looks like more than a dip than a soup. Out of three plates ordered, only one was correct. Returned daughters plate x 2 and waited forever for it to be corrected but it never arrived until we were leaving. Wife ordered combo plate of beef enchilada and relleno. She received a chicken enchilada. Sent plate back and told the would replace the whole plate. When plate arrived back chicken enchalada had been replaced however the relleno was moved to the new plate with the same rice and beans. They were cold and looked terrible. Yum!! I'm Mexican and live in Southern California where Mexican food is available on every block, lol! I had low expectations when going to Cafe Sabor but they were far and above exceeded! I ordered Pollo de la Diabla (spicy) and my mom got an Enchilada & Chile Relleno. Both plates were delicious! Better than any Mexican food I've found in California. The only restaurant food that has come close to real homemade Mexican food and the the tortillas are made fresh right in front of you! The service was great and the restaurant is very nice inside. However, this is our second visit and we are one again, not impressed. Last time the rice and beans were undercooked. This time the chimichanga, which is a deep fried tortilla, was anything but. Also, my husband asked for no dairy and his meal came back with cheese. The waiter, James, took it back to the kitchen and then found out that the chimichanga is prepared early in the day. They didn't tell the server when he put in the order? Wasted food and wasted time. Again, James was great but we will probably not be returning any time soon. The manager did adjust the undercooked chimichanga. Thank you for that. read more
