We were looking for some soup on a cool evening and saw they had clam chowder so we ventured in. The decorations are true to the name, light houses and sea life themed. It was very cute inside. There was no kids menu but the host wrote down all the kids options for us. We were able to customize plain buttered fettuccini for my picky 8-year-old. Fresh bread was delivered and I had a class of Josh Cab for $12, a little steep as a bottle at Costco is $15. We had the calamari to start which was good. My wife had the clam chowder which was excellent and I had the jambalaya which was phenomenal. Our oldest ordered the blackened mahi mahi which was slightly overdone but still good. This visit was an interesting one. This restaurant has plenty of seating with an intimate atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The menu offers a wide selection of options. The caesar salad was light and refreshing. The shrimp feast was well served with good portions, but the flavors fell short of excellent. Particularly the sautéed garlic shrimp and Cajun shrimp tasted as if they were cooked with water instead of butter/oil. And the roasted veggies had a burnt taste while lacking any seasoning. The garlic Parmesan sweet potato fries were the saving grace of the plate. My husband ordered the stuffed flounder and remarked that it was delicious and well seasoned but every bite contained shells/fish bone. Another concern was the bathroom situation, it was clean but it lacked soap.... Also to note is the walls of the restroom are thin and the kitchen staff were arguing and it was loud and awkward. We are glad to have come across this place on our snowboarding trip to Brian Head this year. They were one of the few places that was open on Christmas Day. The service was fantastic and the portion size of our meals left us really full. The steaks were ok and the lobster tail was pretty good. We love Lighthouse! We were in St. George today and decided to drive back to cedar for dinner here. Food was excellent. I get the same thing every time (House Beach Salad, Shrimp Platter) and my husband got the crab legs and said they were so good. The bread is sooo good. Service was wonderful. Had a little trouble finding this restaurant as it's in a strip mall with a not very big sign. Our server was Dalia and she was really busy. Must've had seven or eight tables. I didn't see any other servers. She kept our water glasses filled and brought us some really yummy bread. I had the chicken Madeira and it was perfect with vegetables and sweet potato fries. My husband had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. I also had a glass of Robert Mondavi Pinot Grigio. The atmosphere is nice and pleasant. Lots to choose from. read more

This place was recommended to us so we dined in for dinner. The staff was very friendly and super attentive. At the end of the meal, they even asked if anything could be improved, which was the 5th star for me. I loved that they are looking for honest feedback and want to improve. The atmosphere was calm with soft lighting. It was a much welcomed beach-loving vibe. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken tacos with Parmesan-garlic sweet potato fries. This entree came with 3 street soft tacos which included a generous amount of grilled chicken, topped with slaw. The side of jalepeño ranch brought out just the right amount and balance of flavor. I finished 2.5 tacos and about 1/3 of the fries, which was slightly beyond what made me full. They weren't weighed down by cheese and grease. The tacos look small but they are yummy and so filling! (Not a heavy "I can't move and don't wanna do anything" filling, but a light, satisfying fullness. We will absolutely be back and can't wait to try more entrees. read more

I was excited to try this place because of the high rating. I was disappointed. The atmosphere is odd. The decor is beach themed, but the white table cloths and music make it seem awkwardly upscale. The food looked delicious, but overall was just OK. I ordered the Mahi and the fish was cooked expertly. The potatoes on the other hand have the potential to be good, but I believe they used regular ranch dressing as opposed to ranch seasoning and it lost me. My husband ordered the chicken bacon pesto and said it was alright. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for my daughter and I do believe the chicken tenders were homemade. At least I've never seen any out of a box like the ones they served. read more

I had to download yelp just to leave a review--this place deserves much more recognition than what it currently has since it seemed pretty empty when I went. Short Answer: You have to try this place if you're in Cedar, as I genuinely think it's one of the best places in town; definitely in the same league as Centro. The food was 15/10, completely blew me and my father's expectations out of the water for a place like Cedar. And we didn't even get the main seafood dishes. Service was impeccable, fast, very polite, and extremely accommodating if we had any issues or anything to add. Se hablan español si necesita. The interior was beautiful, clean, and a little fancy. Loved it, as from the outside it doesn't look so nice. The music choices were also impeccable. (Bee Gees and Morrisey covers!) Please support them!! Long answer: I've lived in Cedar as a student for 2 years, and had always wondered about the lighthouse decoration since the restaurant is in another lot and that the decoration seemed like the main attraction since the outside of the place didn't look the best. But, if anything, this is one of those times where you don't judge a book by the cover. We were sat down immediately, since there was only 1 or 2 other parties there at the time, as of going at 6-7 PM. We were first made known of what they were out of for the day, which is greatly appreciated. Plenty of nice drink options as well, great complimentary bread (although I wish there was more butter since the ratio for that left more bread.) I had chosen to get a clam chowder cup, which is thinner than usual clam chowder soups I get. Exploding with flavor, a little filling, and overall better than most I have. Then came our entrees... the Chicken Madeira just couldn't compare to anything else I've had before, something you'd have at a high-end place. The mushrooms just enhanced the rest of the dish so much, especially the veggies. I'm honestly just surprised at how you make a simple chicken and mushroom combo enhanced that well with flavor. My dad had gotten the ribeye steak, which was just shockingly high quality; I honestly couldn't tell the difference if I was in a fancy Brazilian steakhouse if you'd serve me that there. I usually don't like using the term "melt in your mouth," but that steak was so tender and flavorful that it earned that title. Finally, our flan was thick and rich, not usually what I get when I have them, but it truly is better than the jello feeling ones that I usually have. Truly incredible. And to add onto that, 2 day leftovers of this food still tasted almost just as awesome, just thrown in the microwave for a minute. It's just magical at that point. I think this place is family owned, so I'd support this as much I can. 100% a place worth checking out at least once when in town. read more

We stopped in for dinner while on vacation. The potato appetizer was amazing. We had it w/o the jalapenos. Hubby had the fish and chips and he thought the tartar sauce was awesome. Open for short hours dinner only, so we called ahead to see if we needed reservations for 5:30. Just two of us, but when we got there, it was a small venue in a smaller strip mall and the sign was pretty small. Totally fine, but perhaps call ahead to be sure on busier weekends. Service was attentive and the dinner was amazing. My bf got the catfish platter and I got the New York Strip steak. I would never send back steak, but my medium was barely pink though very juicy alas not very flavorful though it said on the menu cooked with herb butter?, so I asked for Worcestershire sauce. His catfish had a good batter and the dirty rice was mild/medium/spicy and he asked for spicy. It certainly was for him. The young lady that handled refills asked if we wanted dessert, so we ordered crème brûlée and waited awhile, only to be brought the check; startled, I asked about dessert and was told by the main server that they only had that certain days of the week, she did offer other menu items instead. A little bummed but we chose to just forgo the other offerings; it had been a long drive and was almost 7p when we got the check and we decided we didn't need to get dessert after all.
