Love living here now and this place is definitely a 'homestyle food" place! Going to order the steak next time but the chicken fried steak was good. ( they need a cat on site though to keep the mice away as we saw scurrying around) but as long as their droppings are not in our food/ dishes, we're good! We were in town and I selected this restaurant for its reviews (Google, not Yelp), its apparent ambiance, not a chain, etc. We actually went out of our way to have breakfast here before leaving town. Biscuits and gravy. I have traveled all over the west. I've eaten in many big city and hole in the wall back country restaurants from Washington to California to Texas, and everywhere in between. For biscuits and gravy, the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced. Biscuits and gravy is a comfort food. I was not comforted! I'd be embarrassed to serve this dish. I sent it back. I cannot remember the last time I sent a dish back simply because its just terrible. I was told some people are confused to not find ground sausage in it because they use bacon instead. Ya, I found no bacon in it either. I was trying to figure out if it was canned gravy but I kept thinking if it was, it would have been better. Seriously? Sent it back and asked for a cinnamon roll. Figured I was playing it safe. The utensils? That was the thinnest fork I have ever seen. I was afraid I'd bend it. For my own kitchen, I buy from commercial restaurant supply stores. I was thinking, where did they find this? My son got a burger. He held up the meat patty and looked at me. That's when I apologized to him for bringing him to this restaurant. It made me think of a prepackaged hamburger that you get from a vending machine and are expected to throw in a microwave oven. Like 2 AM in a hospital vending machine type of thing. The pickles did look impressive though. My cinnamon roll arrives. I try to slice my fork into the outer ring. That's a no go. I'm, thinking is it toasted? Nope. Its seriously stale. My kid says whats wrong with it. I say you try it. He manages to get a bite and starts laughing. The thing is flat out stale and the outer rings hard as a rock. The center was still soft so I managed to eat some of it. The place is busy. The waitresses are work'n hard and friendly. But the food, I just don't get it. It's got to be a locals kind of thing. Very clean restaurant with fantastic ambiance and super good service. On Thursdays they have the auctions which would be cool to see while eating a steak! As I was exploring Cedar City Utah I ran into Market Grill. The exterior was appealing because of the simple country Diner type place look. I walked in and it certainly had that vintage Diner feel. There are seats along this long countertop over looking the grill area. So literally your meal is made right in front of you if you sit there, otherwise they have seats along the windows as well. I felt like they had that old southern hospitality here and I got the idea that this is a very popular place among locals and may have some very loyal patrons. They do not have a deep fryer here just a grill top so the menu items will not include french fries. They had a lot of the classics and favorites on the menu and also things with their own twist. I further got the feel that this might be a family-owned place as well because they used the same bread brand and package that I would buy at the local grocery store... as opposed to getting a bulk no name bread from a food supplier. I had a salad that was offered with the sandwich and I felt that sandwich was pretty tasty as well. This is a very simple place for a quick bite, and I honestly like coming to places like this because it seems there's a reason why they've been around for a while. If you're in Cedar City you should give it a try for reasonable prices read more

I love this place! My boss had told me about this mom and pop place with their farm in the back. It's really got that homey country feel. Their ads or sponsors are made into the tables with QR codes. Excellent idea! It's tiny and only one cook so the wait is longer than expected but oh so worth it! Our coffee mugs were never emptied and multiple waitresses coming by making sure we were taken care of. The bacon was my favorite part! It was so flavorful and savory. Yummy!!! The kids had pancakes and French toast. My husband had bacon and eggs and I had the omelette with avo and bacon bits. We even ended up buying a couple of their mugs! All in all, it was a wonderful breakfast and it did not break the bank at all! I was shocked! Even the mugs were high quality yet only $10 each! I've paid more for poorly made mugs! Everything I hoped it would be. One of the earliest open breakfast spots in town. I ordered the farmer's special and watched the chef in action (the grill is easily visible)! We quit eating there due to the evening grill cook for a little over 1 year due to the cook cremating burgers and other meats. When we saw a new cook last night we gave it another try. Soup was outstanding and wife's breaded chicken was also good. However the rib eye was not good. Looked decent and one half was medium rare as ordered other half was medium to well and tough. I'm guessing due to high grill temperature. Too bad. For the price we'll stick to Rusty's or Milt's. read more

My mom recommended this place because she loves the tomato soup with macaronis. Just like my grandma used to make! I also ordered the grilled cheese and my family got the grilled ham and cheese. It came with the best tomatoes! I don't know what kind of tomatoes they normally use, but these tomatoes were fresh, homegrown tomatoes and you could taste it! I asked the waitress and she said they got them at the farmers market in town! Anyway, the food was great, I love the feel of the place, and everyone was so nice there. We really should have read the reviews before coming here. HORRIFIC customer service! We called ahead and asked how long the wait was and were told 30 minutes so we went, and after putting our names down at 11:20am, told again it was about a 30 minute wait. Ok so we ended up having to wait 60 minutes. Not great but it is what it is. Well apparently they stop serving breakfast at 12pm.... And since they didn't seat us until 12:20pm, we were told we couldn't be served breakfast. The entire reason we came and waited an hour was for breakfast (due to dietary restrictions, we can't eat burgers or sandwhiches which are the entirety of the lunch menu). When I mentioned that we were here well before noon and were never told at ANY point we wouldn't be able to eat here because they were running so far behind, I was told "well what do you want me to do about it?" "If you don't want a burger then I guess you can leave". Like... really?!?! Wow. Just absolutely horrible customer service. read more

Loved this place for breakfast! We stayed the night in Cedar City and chose this for breakfast. Our first thought was "do we choose our own cow or pig" as they have their own livestock chutes and stockyards immediately behind the building. . No worries. It does not smell in any way. Jordan was our server and she was super sweet and efficient. Everything was done to perfection- eggs, bacon, hash browns and sourdough toast. Price was comparable to everywhere else we've eaten. In a large restaurant this can be easily remedied, but not in a restaurant this small. We waited 45 minutes for another table and never got one. If you plan to have a cowboy dinner cooked on by a pitchfork near one of the National Parks don't. Go to the Market Grill and get a western meal. We got seated right away, the server got our drinks right away and took our order. The double cheeseburger was delicious and the fact you can get cottage cheese as a side was awesome.
