As I was exploring Cedar City Utah I ran into Market Grill. The exterior was appealing because of the simple country Diner type place look. I walked in and it certainly had that vintage Diner feel. There are seats along this long countertop over looking the grill area. So literally your meal is made right in front of you if you sit there, otherwise they have seats along the windows as well. I felt like they had that old southern hospitality here and I got the idea that this is a very popular place among locals and may have some very loyal patrons. They do not have a deep fryer here just a grill top so the menu items will not include french fries. They had a lot of the classics and favorites on the menu and also things with their own twist. I further got the feel that this might be a family-owned place as well because they used the same bread brand and package that I would buy at the local grocery store... as opposed to getting a bulk no name bread from a food supplier. I had a salad that was offered with the sandwich and I felt that sandwich was pretty tasty as well. This is a very simple place for a quick bite, and I honestly like coming to places like this because it seems there's a reason why they've been around for a while. If you're in Cedar City you should give it a try for reasonable prices

If you are ever in Southern Utah you need to experience the Market Grill... it's a restaurant attached to the livestock market! Can't get any fresher. Very clean restaurant with fantastic ambiance and super good service. On Thursdays they have the auctions which would be cool to see while eating a steak! Very kid friendly and delicious food!

I love this place! My boss had told me about this mom and pop place with their farm in the back. It's really got that homey country feel. Their ads or sponsors are made into the tables with QR codes. Excellent idea! It's tiny and only one cook so the wait is longer than expected but oh so worth it! Our coffee mugs were never emptied and multiple waitresses coming by making sure we were taken care of. The bacon was my favorite part! It was so flavorful and savory. Yummy!!! The kids had pancakes and French toast. My husband had bacon and eggs and I had the omelette with avo and bacon bits. We even ended up buying a couple of their mugs! All in all, it was a wonderful breakfast and it did not break the bank at all! I was shocked! Even the mugs were high quality yet only $10 each! I've paid more for poorly made mugs! I highly recommend this place, but be patient!

    Farmer's Special

Everything I hoped it would be. One of the earliest open breakfast spots in town. I ordered the farmer's special and watched the chef in action (the grill is easily visible)! Order came to my table hot off the grill. For a quick, sit down, old school spot this one is hard to beat and we'll be back.

My mom recommended this place because she loves the tomato soup with macaronis. Just like my grandma used to make! I also ordered the grilled cheese and my family got the grilled ham and cheese. It came with the best tomatoes! I don't know what kind of tomatoes they normally use, but these tomatoes were fresh, homegrown tomatoes and you could taste it! I asked the waitress and she said they got them at the farmers market in town! Anyway, the food was great, I love the feel of the place, and everyone was so nice there. Great local spot for homestyle food. Loved the decor too!

It took forever to get our food and then my chicken breast was cold. The service was slow. I've had better food at a fast food restaurant.

Yes, it's adjacent to a livestock market, but that's what makes the bacon so delicious.

I tried a Crispy Chicken sandwich (hold the tomato) and purchased a side of Honey Mustard sauce for $.35 to dress it up. That worked well & the chicken was cooked correctly and was still slightly juicy. (Seven Brothers Chicken teriyaki sandwich is juicier and a little bit thicker but costs 55% more. Buns are comparable.). I would get Culver's Crispy Chicken sandwich again. Attention is needed to the upkeep of the interior of the restaurant. Didn't see much table cleaning going on; just food deliveries to tables and the workers vanished back to the counter area. Next time we go I'll look to see if any of the staff is over 20. It always feels like there's a lot of staff standing around showing limited interest in the customers and no management in the building. The table number placard we received was grimy (see picture) so an unpleasant thought occurred to me as to what the kitchen looks like beyond the pass through window area.... I can't be the only person to notice the gunk on the #14 table placard. Yet no one seems to think to wipe it off. I like Culver's menu and hope the owner keeps on top of things so we can keep them in our eating out rotation.

We had the brisket platter and the sampler. The brisket platter came with two sides and we picked the funeral potatoes and mac n cheese. The brisket was decent and the sampler was the star of the show! The ribs were well done and the pulled pork was exceptional. The brisket for both dishes were very dry and needed to be doused with subtantial amounts of bbq. Overall, brisket platter is not worth it but the sampler is! Service is top tier here!

Example: the Menu shows "seasoned" fries as a side and Pork Master as a Sandwich choice. Neither are still offered in Cedar City. The Online Ordering link offers quite a different list of item in comparison to the Menu link, and has very few item descriptions. Just name and price mostly. I had always ordered the Smoked Pulled Pork sandwich but the gal on the phone kept referencing a smaller pork sandwich which I didn't think I ordered but I ended up with an order for the Mini Pork Sandwich being placed for me. It was the size of a hamburger and was good. My husband usually ordered the Pork Master sandwich but that exists only on the incorrect Menu link. He ended up ordering the Smoked Brisket Melt which he said was okay. The differing links also confuse you as to what sides are offered with the entrees. When asked what side I wanted with the Pork Sandwich I was offered with only fries or tots. That was not what I thought I saw in their online order form which showed more options - several new ones and missing some of their previous offerings. I told the gal this and she agreed to give me the mashed potatoes - this time. So that sounds like they are not an option with the Mini Pork sandwich. We both ended up with mashed potatoes as the sides since we'd had poor experiences with how the sides end up after the ride home. The tater tots lose their crunch during the 10 minute ride home and arrive home soggier than you'd get in the restaurant. Pork Belly's in Cedar City had also discontinued the delicious seasoned french fry . Instead they offer plain fries which were disappointing on a prior order. The mashed potatoes needed a little salt (I'm am not a person who salts restaurant food). Maybe they had some garlic in them? They charge a 7% To Go fee. The original owners are long gone and under the new management, my husband is over ordering anything from this Pork Belly's now. Too many of the favorites that kept us coming back are gone and now only exist online in their historic Menu link. TIme to BBQ elsewhere.
