French toast dipped in pancake batter with over easy eggs
Tammy H.

The service was friendly. The inside decor is nostalgic and eclectic with many decorations on nearly every inch of the wall. We went for breakfast on a weekday. The food was just okay, pretty standard breakfast food. The butter was delish. If only they had an extended coffee menu

Welcoming and feels like home! Friendly staff with warm inviting personalities, makes you feel like family. Clean and spacious dining tables. They make everything from scratch in the kitchen and yet it's served out so quickly! They have filling portions too! I'll be back for more!

Great place to have breakfast or lunch. The three times I have eaten here we always eat breakfast. They have good breakfast combos with hashbrowns eggs and your choice of meat. The kids can always find something good to eat whether it's pancakes or just bacon & eggs. Guaranteed to have a good meal. The service is decent. They are always so busy.

Popped off the 15 in cedar City to grab gas and Ambers, right across the street was calling. The mostly positive reviews helped sway as well as the packed parking lot. It probably would have been a decent wait had there not been empty seats at the counter. The gals taking care of us, we're super friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. Coffee was hot and the food fresh. Breakfast these days is always on the expensive side consider you're getting potatoes and eggs but relatively speaking $12.50 for a filling omelette isn't bad. Total cost for one coffee one veggie omelette 1 cup of cottage cheese and tip came to 21 and I'm stuffed!

Breakfast burrito with hash browns. So good!

3rd time here. Only about a 10 minutes or less wait for a table. We sat at the counter during our 2nd visit and will abbr do that again. The guy did the dishes right in front of us the entire time & would bang the trays on the counter. The service is always great! Friendly and attentive! Had the spicy burrito & French toast. Both were really good & we recommend.

This place was amazing! The service was fantastic and fast! The food was delicious. My hamburger patty tasted great and eggs were perfectly cooked. Also their fruit bowl was berries and bananas and not your usual melon. This place was full of locals and clean restaurants.

Bacon avocado toast with eggs over easy.

We love eating here. It is obvious the owners take pride in their establishment. Decor is fun, food is very good, portions are generous, and reasonably-priced. There is a POW/MIA table as you walk in, which makes these veterans smile when we see it. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Absolutely recommend.

This place is not fast food. A sign up front even warns you that they aren't fast, that good food takes time. But when more than one regular takes the time to tell you that the food is good, just decide that the entire experience is worth the wait. Sign yourself in on the notebook on the front desk and sit down to wait. There are A LOT of regulars who come here. Cute decor with big windows that bring in natural light add to the ambience that you stepped into Amber Kay's kitchen. There is a big counter for singles or couples, as well as small and large tables throughout. We received water quickly. The table was soaking wet and still a bit dirty, so the waitress retrieved a clean towel and cleaned everything up. The menu is full of simple diner food. Remembering what the regulars were saying, we looked forward to our meal. The house made meatloaf and potatoes with gravy were very good, although the potatoes were not very warm. That meatloaf even had the quintessential ketchup top. I think the nearly cold potato temperature was just a fluke. My fellow diners enjoyed their Philly Cheesesteak omelette and corned beef hash with eggs. The place was very busy, although possibly short-staffed. It's worth a visit and allow grace to the staff. Easy to find from the freeway exit.

Amber Kay's Cafe will leave you wanting more! We were passing through while traveling around Utah and decided to grab a late breakfast. We were immediately sat down by a very friendly waitress and brought coffee within minutes of asking for it! The staff worked together and were extremely attentive throughout our experience. The decor is farmhouse chic. Very cute inside, with clean bathrooms, and funny signs all of the walls to read and entertain yourself while waiting...though you won't be waiting long. We both ordered omelets and the serving sizes are beyond generous. Make sure you go hungry, very hungry! The omelets were absolutely loaded with "toppings" and cheese to the point where the egg did not even seem like the main event! The hashbrowns were crispy and buttery as well. The toast was a separate plate and I forgot to take a picture, but it was a good amount toasted to perfection. We wanted to stop again on our way back through it was so delicious, but time was not on our side. I encourage you to give this gem a try!

Very family-friendly place. Fast and friendly service, and everything is clean and tastefully decorated. They have a changing table in the bathroom. They've been open for just 2 months now and run like a well-oiled machine. They gave my 18 month old cars to play with while we waited for our food. He loved it, and way better than giving him crayons which he would just eat. Very reasonably priced. For my husband, son, and I, it was $28.37 (before tip). Very doable. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with asada meat inside. He loved it, and especially enjoyed the meat (which is very important to him to have meat without fat on it) and salsa. He said the burrito wasn't soggy. I ordered the waffle combo but asked for fruit and cream on top. It was good and filling! A solid breakfast place, and we will definitely stop here again when passing through Cedar City.

They had lots of seating, including some comfy couches--I LOVE a laidback coffee shop! The decor was very modern with a clean, elegant vibe. Tons of natural light as well. There were lots of drinks to choose from, and they also offered food (but we had already eaten)! The barista was very helpful in describing drinks which helped me narrow down my choices. The shop shares some space with a yoga studio, so the bathrooms are large and spacious, have toiletries for freshening up, and some even have showers! For a small town coffee shop, Bristlecone really blew it out of the waters and amazed me! I'm super happy we stopped in, and can't wait for my next drive up to Brian Head to stop in again!!!

The cortado was very nice to drink. It was smooth yet bold in coffee flavor. The breakfast sandwich was very good. The only thing I did not like was that they did not toast the ciabatta, which was odd. I warm breakfast sandwich deserves a nice warm bun. The breakfast sandwich came with a friend egg, crispy bacon, spinach, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, and a house spread, which was tasty. If only they would have toasted the ciabatta bread it would have been great. My friend mentioned the apple nachos were great. The sliced green apples were crisp, the granola tasty and crunchy, and the drizzle of honey was perfect. The service was very good. The peeps were friendly and welcoming. This place also doubles as a yoga studio. There plenty of parking right out in front. Free Wi-Fi is available.

While ordering at the counter, I needed to make a quick adjustment after getting confused about one of the items. During that moment, a 'white' gentleman was waiting behind me, and instead of simply acknowledging him with "I'll be with you shortly," the lady staff apologized to him for my delay in ordering (according to her). Shortly after, while I was still in the middle of ordering and asking about tea options, she abruptly moved on to take his order without any explanation or communication. The interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable as well I felt strong I am treated with racism, especially in the condition when I was pregnant who crave all good food.... As for the food, most of it was enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on the croissant and the pancakes were well done. However, the onion soup was overly salty, likely due to the cheese which was in the soup and also on the bread. Another downside, especially as first-time visitors, was the lack of guidance. We weren't informed that water was self-serve, and only realized it after noticing another guest getting it themselves. Interestingly, when leaving, we saw staff pouring water for newly seated guests, which added to the inconsistency. Overall, the food showed effort from the kitchen, but the service experience was disappointing. The 2-star rating is mainly in appreciation of the quality of the dishes. Cafe is quite small and we felt hot, as there's only a portable AC that couldn't accommodate that size of room. Not recommended place, even this is one of the rarest cafe in town. Rather to spend money to somewhere worthy and respect you as guest, no matter what roots you have.

When the food arrived, both the burger and salad looked promising, but sometimes, as one knows, looks can be deceiving. For a cheese burger, the burger was a little undersized, in my opinion, and although the quality of the beef was very good and tasted quite good, I could not overlook the fact, that they served the burger with a cold bun. That mishap really bothers me. Cold bread on a burger, simply does not work. I am assuming somebody just missed a step, but that one extra missed step put a huge let down on the burger. My friend's chicken Caesar salad looked promising, but unfortunately, the chicken was very over-salted. You could consume a few pieces of the chicken before becoming overwhelmed with salt. We left the chicken, but ate the salad, which was good. We notified, the server regarding the over salting of the chicken, and she stated she would let the prep team know. No apology nor willingness to make it up. The service was friendly enough, but if you ask me if things could have been better, I would say, "absolutely." Toast those buns and taste your food before it makes it to the pass.
