My socks were blown off at my first bite! Translation: the…read morefood is EXCELLENT!! Ok, ok I've only gotten the same thing both times I've been there. But it's SO TASTY!! But let's not get ahead of ourselves! If possible, the SERVICE might be the best part of the whole experience. Yes, I said experience. They are that kind, attentive, and intent in making your meal their top priority. There is no pandering for a tip, the staff truly loves where they work and what they serve. They're so gosh darn nice! Trust me. Head in and you'll know what I'm talking about. You walk away sounding like your sweet grandma, " that waiter was sooo niiice Ralf!) Back to the food. We ordered the "surf and turf" burrito. GET THE RICE AND BEANS!! So this big boy is loaded in and out with tender meats: shrimp, steak and chicken. And it's drenched in the sauce. Shudder! The SAUCE!! My toes curl just thinking about it. Save some chips for scooping it up. (Don't worry your waiter brings you homemade chips and salsa when you sit down. They have no problem refilling your chips. Salsa and drinks as many times and you'd like. Back to the sauce. Creamy, flavorful and all over the place. Get the rice and beans and it's just swimming in a soup of seduction. Also, it's big so you and your partner can share. (All good things in moderation my friend!). It's about $30 for the plate but who cares when they first bite hits! Are you hungry yet? Get over there!!

I'm not sure what was up but my table agreed that there wasn't much flavor to any part of the meal and we weren't as impressed as last time. It was all just meh. Service was friendly as usual.

The quality and service have been going downhill for a while now, but we kept coming back. Losing my credit card, and then showing so little concern about it, will likely make this our last visit. They took my card about 15 feet away to run the payment. The receipt came back. The card did not. Apparently, that stretch of restaurant is the Bermuda Triangle, but with salsa. They looked briefly, took my name and number in case it turned up, and that was about it. I locked my card. Their response suggested we were looking for a misplaced umbrella. I called the next day and spoke with the manager, Fernando. He said they'd gotten too busy to look for it. I appreciate the honesty, although "we're too busy" is a bold customer service choice when the thing you're too busy doing is looking for the credit card you lost. He said he'd call me later and that, if they couldn't find it, we'd discuss what to do about the meal, including possible reimbursement. He never called. I wasn't expecting a search helicopter. I expected a thorough look, some concern, and a phone call when the manager promised one. None of that should require a quiet shift. Mistakes happen. How you handle them determines whether customers come back. We've made this restaurant part of our Bear Lake visits for years. It's disappointing to discover that losing our credit card apparently mattered more to us than keeping our business mattered to them. Fernando, you have my number. Give me a call.

I've been here a couple of times, and it fills the void. Unfortunately, that's all it does. From there, it gets worse. There was an ample amount of cheese, however, there was no pico de gallo, cream or guac. I thought that there might have been a communication error, or maybe their Cali burrito isn't what I had come to expect. So, I decided to try their sister restaurant off of Brigham to make sure. Here I got pretty much the same thing except this time it had pico & crema. Still disappointing. When I think back about the place on Convention, I have to say I was also a little bothered about their kitchen practices. I saw the girl in the front of house and the cook eating while working. As for some better alternatives with a proper Cali burrito (in no particular order): - Monchis on River - Tacos Plaza on River - Aimars on Main As for Las Palmas, I can say that the rolled tacos are good. Also, I will be going back to try other menu options, like the carne asada fries and the bean and cheese burro. Let's hope that these other items sing.

Went in and multiple people had shrimp or seafood cocktails that were monster sized. Just went for a burrito and it was delicious. Fast forward to last night, and again staying in a nearby hotel and went to Las Palmas. It's nothing to look at...just a food stand in a gas station. But the lady who took our order was friendly and nice and helpful. Wife ordered a quesadilla with shredded chicken. I got a carne asada burrito with rice and guacamole. They also have a salsa bar...I got the salsa verde and some of the spicy jalapeños, carrots, and onions. Everything tasted great. Lots of carne asada and guacamole in the burrito. The salsa was perfect, and my wife also enjoyed hers. Neither of us could finish. Total cost with a large drink was $26. Overall great value and very good food. Much better than the standard fast food options.
