How do you mess up a simple cocktail? For the last night in St. George, we decided to go to one of my parents' favorite places. The food is great. Based on that alone, I would give this place a 5, but unfortunately, everything else was below par. The service was slow, as was every other restaurant in St. George. I ordered a Manhattan, and lo and behold, I received some type of smoked old fashioned. When I asked for a new one, Dom, our waiter, said, "Sure, but you'll probably just get the same thing." That surprised me, and I was like, "Go talk to the bartender and see if they can make it." But Dom was pretty certain that, I'd get the same thing. So I ordered something else, and it came out fine. Dom, while new, was not a very good waiter and could use some more training in customer service and in cocktails. His attitude completely ruined the night. read more

I came here for a business meeting, and it was a great experience. We had a smaller, curated menu to accommodate a larger group, which worked perfectly. The salmon was cooked beautifully very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The salad was incredibly fresh, and everything felt well thought out. We stopped here after a long day of driving and it was an oasis of comfort and great food. Natalie, our server, helped make our dining experience top tier with her friendliness and attention to detail. If we ever pass through here again, we will ask to be seated at her table. We went for lunch and were seated quickly. The waiter was nice and got some sliced apples early on for my toddler to try and keep her occupied. Our food came out quickly. I got shrimp and chicken tenders. I was a little disappointed it only came with 2 chicken tenders, but they were nice and juicy. The fried shrimp that it came with were delicious also. So I was staying in St. George for work, my hotel was right next-door to ribs and chop. So I thought I'd give it a try. I saw that they have elk, I've never had it and have always wanted to try it so I gave it a try. When I arrived, I was greeted quickly by the hostess and the manager. I was seated in the bar, which I was OK with waitress came by. I ordered my elk and came with two sides. I took a Caesar salad and a carrot soufflé. The first Caesar salad that came to me was pathetic. The dish in which it came in was warm and the salad itself was wilting and was brown. The managing he by saw that I hadn't eaten. It asked me what the problem was. I explained to him he wasn't happy. He told me he would bring me a new one. He brought me a new one. The plate was ice cold the lettuce was fresh and cold. This one was edible. I received my entrée and I have to say the elk was very good however, I noticed that on the backside of the sliced elk, it looked like they had put it into a sauté plan to warm up the steak as the steak wasn't very warm the cream spinach was excellent. However, the carrot soufflé was anything but a carrot soufflé. It was so sweet from the added brown sugar that when the waitress asked me if I wanted a dessert, I told her I already had it with the carrot soufflé, the ambience of the place is very nice. You feel like you're in a lodge in the mountains. Overall, I didn't think the food was all that good for the price that they are charging. The au gratin potatoes were sliced too thick and cooked at too high of a temperature so the sauce didn't really come together, but they were still a little bit burnt on top. I kind of wanna give them a lower star rating, because they screwed up my wine order so badly, but their cuts of meat and the freshness of their food really does make up for the absolutely terrible table service they offer. I've come here twice, and the first time we ate inside, we were not impressed by the service, nor the ambience of the interior of this chop house. It reminiscent of a post-industrial hotel lobby. But as we left that evening, we noticed that the patio was kind of rad. Plus, you can bring your dog. We knew we would be back. Any place that allows you to have your pet on the patio while you eat an amazing steak is my kind of place. The ambience on the patio is so good. We brought our dog the second time, and Lucky just had the BEST day. And they were totally understanding that he was being a little bit of a weirdo as he lurched through the restaurant door on his way to the patio, so they earned extra stars for that. I felt bad for my very nice server, but he just doesn't seem like he really understands the importance that a well-timed glass of quality wine served with someone's food - actually juuuuust before the food arrives - makes a meal that much better. One drinks wine with their food, not after. After waiting over an hour on the beautiful patio for our dinner order, we only got a glass of wine because we reminded him as he served our food. It took an additional 15 to 20 minutes after my entree had been served, and it looked like it had been sadly plopped into an unpolished water cup, and was just kind of gross to drink. I guess this is the kind of place that figures wine exists to get drunk on, and not to enhance food. I still like the food here because the cuts of meat are amazing, and the sides are fresh prepared. They didn't have any blinds outside so half of our party were blinded and sweaty. Our server was SLOW! Three other tables arrived after us but all got their food before us. I have been here twice since I moved into town 4 years ago. The first time, I had to bring some home, since the servings are BIG! I think I had Elk or some exotic meat and it was very tasty as well as the sides. This is our 2nd time at this chain restaurant. Our first time was in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We came at dinner time so it was busy. But not busy enough to walk away. The lobby was spacious, so we could see a few available tables. My wife saw that there was a booth available in the lounge area, so she asked the hostess if we could sit there. Without hesitation, she said,'It's yours', and we were seated right away. Our waitress (Beyonce) was excellent. As busy as she was, we never felt abandoned. I ordered the Lamb Chops only to find there was a menu change, and that item was dropped. I was disappointed but still hungry. We made our order, Grabbers and Jambalaya, and we were not disappointed. Our server ignored us for 15 minutes before finally taking a drink order. 15 minutes later the drinks showed up. We placed our orders and it took 30 minutes for the pre-made salads to show up. When you walk in one side of the restaurant is the bar area with tvs and the other is for a nice sit down diner area. Restaurant was very nice. Staff was very friendly was greeted when I walked in which was really nice. My server was very friendly and professional. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were great. For my entre I ordered the seafood Alfredo that came with choice of salad or soup. After driving 7 hours in from AZ, we were starved! Saw this place after we checked into our Marriott hotel down the street and figured it would be good. Not very busy on a Friday night around 8 so we got right in. Sat in a booth near the back, which was great! Noticed the booths seat need a little TLC (a bit cracked) but otherwise it was fine.
