Parfait and scone. It's as big as it looks! Just pass on the "honey butter".
Elaine T.

We went to the "West" location. Plenty of parking and the line moves quickly. The server was fast and kind. We had the parfait and a scone. The parfait was delicious. I cut the strawberries into smaller pieces so I could easily eat them. The scone was HOT and delicious. The "honey butter" was . Maybe if I was expecting just butter it would have been ok, but I dipped my scone in it and took a bite - no idea what it was but it definitely did not taste like honey anything. The homemade jam was on the table and delicious. I'll go back, but not to put the butter on anything.

Bishop's Breakfast

We had the Bishop's breakfast - eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, hash browns. Comes with sausage but I swapped it out for bacon. Loved all of it except biscuits weren't the greatest. Service and atmosphere were wonderful.

Huge Sweet Roll to take home!

First timer. Got Dave's breakfast so we could try a little of everything! Huge portions, service was great and full dinner size plate sweet rolls!

OMG I already have a favorite goto breakfast place in Las Vegas it's called Rise and Shine. Now when we visit St. George. Our go to is right here Bishop's! I don't know how to explain this. This review will sound like the playoff playing head-to-head with favorite versus favorite. Rise and Shine vs Bishop's Rise and shine } closes at 2:00pm everyday Bishop's } close at 3:00 p.m. except Thursday Friday Saturday open till night time. Rise and shine } when I get the bill it's around almost 60 Bishop's } today's bill was $40 and some change Rise and shine } I love the staff there all nice people. Bishop's } high energy awesome people, Okay here's where this may sound funny. But I'm trying to be serious. We're waiting in the seating area.I was watching people leave and after they eat. It's like they're running a cowboy or mob operation lol they don't mess around in there. I saw the staff clean like it's no tomorrow. The tables, the chairs, the carpet was like spotless like if anybody drop a napkin the napkin is the enemy lmao!! It was a very cool experience here I was so full I couldn't make it to my French toast lol When they're bringing food out to the customer I saw a couple signatures that was very appealing. And this place was a full house!! I can imagine if we're in hometown Las Vegas. They would fit in and they would kill it there!! I'm here next week and this is the place to be for me again.

Breakfast #1 - eggs, hash brown and English muffin

Food was great, prepared well and served by friendly staff. Portions were large too. Everything I expected from a local diner for breakfast.

All of the breakfast and lunch dishes that I have tried were great. It can be very busy, but the servers and service has been great.

My favorites are their wedge salad with bacon, and blue cheese with a side of macaroni and cheese. Their desserts are delicious. Our group of eight ate outside a few nights ago. Perfect spring weather!

The fries were cooked to perfection--crispy, golden, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The burger itself was well-seasoned and cooked to the right temperature, showing the kitchen knows how to handle quality. My only drawback was the bun-to-burger ratio. With the larger bun and toppings, the rich beefy flavor got a little lost. A slightly bigger patty or smaller bun would have really made it shine. My wife went with the grilled chicken salad with goat cheese and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the salad was fresh, and the dressing being pre-mixed gave every bite consistent flavor. The goat cheese portion was definitely generous--great for goat cheese lovers, though it looked like a bit much from my perspective. Luckily, she loved it. Overall, a vibrant solid spot with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. A few minor tweaks could elevate some dishes even more, but it's absolutely a place worth visiting when you're in St. George. Please give this place a try!

It definitely did not disappoint! I had a bit of a hard time finding this place as it's in an industrial area and kind of hiding, but it was worth the journey. For my drink, I ordered the blackberry smash, which was a mule with a fruity twist. It was delicious and much stronger than other drinks I've had in this area. For my meal, I went with the highly-acclaimed fish and chips, which did indeed live up to their hype. The fish was perfectly fried and the fries had a good bite to them. I also really enjoyed the fry sauce that tagged along with the dish. Our server was also wonderful and made helpful suggestions throughout the meal. This was a great experience and I would definitely return for future meals when I'm in the area!

NOT A BREWERY EXPERIENCE…read more We stopped in expecting a typical brewery experience and were disappointed. We came specifically to try a flight, but were told that alcohol could only be served if we ordered food. That's understandable, but when I offered to order an appetizer, we were then told we could only get one beer with it, not a flight. The whole interaction felt unwelcoming, like our business wasn't really wanted. We would have happily ordered an appetizer and multiple beers, but instead were essentially told to just get beer to-go. We've visited almost every brewery in the state of Utah and hundreds of breweries across the country, so we're very familiar with how they typically operate. Being told this was "state law" felt misleading or, at the very least, poorly explained. Also worth noting: they close at 9 PM every night, which is quite early for a place presenting itself as a brewery. In our opinion, this is much more of a restaurant than a brewery, and it would be better advertised that way. Thankfully, we found a nearby spot (Station 2 Bar by Zion Brewery) that was far more accommodating and gave us the brewery experience we were looking for

There are places you go... and then there are places that feel like you've finally come home…read more The Painted Pony is the latter. We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

The Painted Pony in St. George, UT - A Cozy Gem with One Miss (Pass on the Crab Cakes)…read moreIf you're looking for a solid upscale dinner spot in downtown St. George, The Painted Pony in Ancestor Square is a strong choice. Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.
