Spiritual Speakeasy - Voodoo queen and king Louis cocktail

Spiritual Speakeasy

(77 reviews)

5-Star Review: Spiritual Speakeasy - A Hidden Gem Cocktail Parlor in Downtown St. George…read moreIf you're in St. George and craving a night out that feels worlds away from the typical Utah bar scene, Spiritual Speakeasy (2 W St. George Blvd #5, right at Ancestor Square) is an absolute must. It's not just another spot--it's a true speakeasy-style cocktail lounge with that perfect moody, intimate Prohibition-era vibe. Think dim lighting, plush vintage settees and ornate seating that feels like stepping into a gothic 1800s parlor, gilded mirrors, stone crosses, and an electric yet cozy energy that's ideal for date night, a special occasion, or just unwinding with friends. Spiritual Speakeasy Bar (2026) - All You MUST Know Before You Go (with Reviews) The cocktails here are next-level--award-winning (they've taken Best Bar in Southern Utah multiple times, and it shows). I went with the Smoked Old Fashioned (beautifully balanced, smoky perfection with premium spirits) and the Spicy Dead Lady (a creative, flavorful kick that's become a favorite). They also do standouts like Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, Skull Chapel, and Holy Grail, all crafted with top-shelf ingredients including Utah's own High West whiskeys. The bartenders are true mixologists--super knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to chat about the spirits or customize something just for you. Spiritual Speakeasy - St. George, UT | joe coffee It's open daily from 5 PM to 1 AM (or 2 AM some nights), with live DJs on weekends adding to the lively but not overwhelming atmosphere. It's intimate (can feel a bit cozy/crowded when busy), and the music can get loud, but that's part of the electric speakeasy charm. Service is attentive, though it can slow down on peak nights--totally worth it. In a town not exactly known for wild nightlife, this place punches way above its weight. Sophisticated, fun, and unexpectedly upscale. We've already made it our go-to whenever we're in St. George. If you love craft cocktails and a unique vibe, hunt it down--you won't regret it. Highly recommended! (Pro tip: Look for the hidden entrance vibe--they make it feel like a real discovery.)

Came across this place & decided to celebrate our wedding here after everything was done!…read more Made a reservation online assuming it could be busy for cinco de mayo. We were able to be seated without an issue, they just opened around the time we came in. The ambiance was cool & different & the secret door was a cool touch. Drinks were great. Loved the variety they offered. I took a star off because the guy who checked our IDs in the front didn't tell us it was open seating, so we just stood there waiting to be helped not knowing what to do if we can sit anywhere , or needed to wait. The bartender didn't stop to welcome us , or let us know it was open seating. We aren't locals, nor have we been before, so standing there without any direction was kind of not welcoming. Overall, it was a cool vibe, drinks were good, however not sure if I would return when I do come into town.

It ended up being a good thing for us, though, as we were able to get a good seat at the bar to enjoy a couple drinks and food while taking in the entertainment. The only issue with that was they weren't able to turn off the music for downstairs so that was annoying to hear while trying to listen to the band. For drinks, I opted for the range water which I'd never tried before anywhere but it was great. Perfectly mixed blend of lime, topo chico, and tequila. I liked that it's not too sweet or sour; refreshing. Andy wanted the Maple Smoked Old Fashioned listed on their provided seasonal menu but the bartender said he didn't have the maple and could do the regular smoked old fashioned. We said ok and waited...and waited.... Unfortunately he couldn't get his smoker to work. So Andy ended up getting a 1/3 full rocks glass of Old Fashioned. Delicious but I was surprised there was no discount on the check since he didn't get what was ordered. For food I got the Big Shots Burger, no bun or onion, and andy got the bacon cheddar tots. I forgot to say what I wanted for my side and the bartender didn't ask even though the menu said there were 3 options, one being a side salad which I normally would have gotten over potatoes, so my plate had the standard fries. at least andy enjoyed them. My smash burger patties were surprisingly delicious. Perfectly seasoned and juicy. Andy loved his tots as well. The tots definitely looked homemade as they were ginormous! I stole some of the fry sauce they came with for my burger. It added a nice kick and is the only fry sauce I've had that was actually good. The prices were decent and food & beverages yummy so I'd definitely come back.

Our host & server were very kind and accommodating. Kids menus and crayons are available. They offer breakfast and lunch options; food is very much the basic sports bar items such as burgers, wings and fries. But everything tasted good and came out quick. Plenty of tvs overhead, so we had fun watching Sunday football while we waited for our tee time. Half our party was late due to weather for our golf game, and the restaurant was kind enough to let us just hang out until they arrived. Overall, a good experience!

My wife and I visited recently for Drag Queen Bingo. It certainly was an interesting combination-the LGBTQ folks surrounding the stage and cheering for the performers and the locals on the other side of the bar throwing back pitchers of cheap beer. We didn't have any trouble, but I would not be surprised if a brawl or two pops up occasionally. I may return if there is an event going on, but this probably won't be somewhere I'd just go to hang out.

They never mentioned anything about a sexual assault. (This is my regular bar where I frequent often. THEY KNOW ME HERE) but now I guess they are covering their asses and lying. The cop reviewed the footage, and was told by staff that I said not to remove the guy who just assaulted me out of the bar. NEVER SAID THAT. Meanwhile there is footage of me being assaulted. Me leaving because of the assault. And the man still inside the establishment. Jordan chased me out to my car where we started yelling at each other because I told him no one is doing their job. The one job to protect patrons. He ended up telling me to go fuck myself when I told him I'd never be back to the bar ever again because of this sexual assault and their failure to do anything about it. At the end of the day it's my word against the bars. I'm glad there is surveillance of the assault and failure by staff to do anything about it. I will be filing a formal complaint against the bar and pressing charges against the man I SUPPOSEDLY didn't want kicked out.

It definitely did not disappoint! I had a bit of a hard time finding this place as it's in an industrial area and kind of hiding, but it was worth the journey. For my drink, I ordered the blackberry smash, which was a mule with a fruity twist. It was delicious and much stronger than other drinks I've had in this area. For my meal, I went with the highly-acclaimed fish and chips, which did indeed live up to their hype. The fish was perfectly fried and the fries had a good bite to them. I also really enjoyed the fry sauce that tagged along with the dish. Our server was also wonderful and made helpful suggestions throughout the meal. This was a great experience and I would definitely return for future meals when I'm in the area!

NOT A BREWERY EXPERIENCE…read more We stopped in expecting a typical brewery experience and were disappointed. We came specifically to try a flight, but were told that alcohol could only be served if we ordered food. That's understandable, but when I offered to order an appetizer, we were then told we could only get one beer with it, not a flight. The whole interaction felt unwelcoming, like our business wasn't really wanted. We would have happily ordered an appetizer and multiple beers, but instead were essentially told to just get beer to-go. We've visited almost every brewery in the state of Utah and hundreds of breweries across the country, so we're very familiar with how they typically operate. Being told this was "state law" felt misleading or, at the very least, poorly explained. Also worth noting: they close at 9 PM every night, which is quite early for a place presenting itself as a brewery. In our opinion, this is much more of a restaurant than a brewery, and it would be better advertised that way. Thankfully, we found a nearby spot (Station 2 Bar by Zion Brewery) that was far more accommodating and gave us the brewery experience we were looking for

The fries were cooked to perfection--crispy, golden, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The burger itself was well-seasoned and cooked to the right temperature, showing the kitchen knows how to handle quality. My only drawback was the bun-to-burger ratio. With the larger bun and toppings, the rich beefy flavor got a little lost. A slightly bigger patty or smaller bun would have really made it shine. My wife went with the grilled chicken salad with goat cheese and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the salad was fresh, and the dressing being pre-mixed gave every bite consistent flavor. The goat cheese portion was definitely generous--great for goat cheese lovers, though it looked like a bit much from my perspective. Luckily, she loved it. Overall, a vibrant solid spot with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. A few minor tweaks could elevate some dishes even more, but it's absolutely a place worth visiting when you're in St. George. Please give this place a try!

Spot on. If you're after an intimate, low-key spot with a warm atmosphere and a subtle speakeasy feel, this place delivers. The owners were there in person, took time to connect, and added a level of authenticity that's hard to fake. It's a bit tucked away and not where you'd expect--but that's part of the charm. A good speakeasy should feel like a find. We tried the meatballs with bacon jam, Maryland crab cakes, and the miso salmon--each one well-executed without trying too hard. Dessert was an orange cake that finished things off perfectly. Portions were just right. The cocktails stand out--not just for presentation, but for the clear intention behind them. There's a creative, almost literary theme running through the menu, and it shows real effort and originality. After talking with the bartender, it's obvious they take pride in constantly refining and creating. If you're looking for a relaxed, intimate date night spot that feels a little off the radar but fully worth it--this is one to check out.

Its very small inside but decorated nicely. I recommend making a reservation to avoid sitting in a backless barstool. I had the seasonal pumpkin pie martini to drink. It was yummy. I like the graham cracker rim and the glass details. Ive had the deviled eggs appetizer both times and its been consistent. I like the brushetta and bacon jam eggs the best. We tried the meatballs and they were also very good. Im not a fan of brie but its a small amount that blends well with all the other flavors of the meatball. Id get those again. My entree was the alfredo pasta. It was good. It did come out a little cold but the flavor was on point. The garlic bread that accompanied it was nice and crisp. I wish i had more left over sauce to soak up with bread but the ratio of noodles to sauce was dead on. Its a smaller portion but the price reflects that. I literally scraped the plates of each of our dishes. Next time I want to try that Scarlet Letter cocktail because it looked just like a New York Sour to me. Im really glad that this place is here in St George. I'm always looking for new spots with trendy drinks, unique atmosphere, and delicious food. This checks all the boxes. Not to mention, the hours are perfect for day dates with the hubby. Cheers!
