They were eight of us so we had a two booth. I had driven up from Las Vegas to visit my sister who is in town to watch shows at Tuacan. Service was fantastic. Our server was so quick and delightful to work with. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy platter which comes with two eggs and sausage or bacon. And of course, I chose sausage. I am very picky about my sausage gravy and this was fantastic. Filled with chunks of sausage and very tasty gravy. I also added a six shooter hash brown to my order and it was also just yummy and filled with grilled onions and ham and mushrooms, and covered with cheese. It was so yummy. We enjoyed the atmosphere. We drove up from Vegas for the day for a hike and I had searched ahead of time on Yelp for the right spot to fill our bellies after a day of hiking. We got the homey decor vibe but the poor server was by herself and very busy. So no greeting. Not her fault at all. We sat by the door w another couple waiting to be seated. After she sat them and settled up a few checks we were sat. She was very polite and attentive despite how busy she was. We placed our order and anticipated it would take a while since she was on her own. Surprisingly our food came relatively quick. I ordered the TX taco salad. I asked for the pita on the side instead of on the bottom so it wouldn't get soggy. The cook misunderstood and put EVERYTHING on the side in little cups. I was brought a sad plate of lettuce w the pita on top and little cup of bland chili, shredded cheese, onions, salsa, & sour cream all separate on the side. It wasn't the end of the world but not at all what I expected. The chili was lukewarm warm, not great but the pita was tasty. I mean, pretty hard to mess up fried anything though. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and he liked his meal. He's pretty easy to please. After being so disappointed in my food I backed out on ordering the cinnamon roll. I was afraid I'dbbe just as disappointed. This review is in no way a reflection of our server. She was all by herself and hustled the whole time. She was also incredibly sweet. Stopped in for breakfast before heading out of town. It's definitely a hole in the wall place. When we walked in we were the only ones in the place. Service was spot on. The menu is large with lots of options. I had the scrambler with biscuits and gravy which was a ton of food for not a lot of price. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was very reasonable. Savannah was our server and you could tell she enjoys working with people. She was happily juggling tables and always making sure we had everything we needed without skipping a beat. At first glance the Wagon Wheel seems pretty unassuming from the outside and the inside has an old West meets diner vibe. The wait staff and host were great. The right level of polite and fun and they were great with the kids. This is a locals joint that is very visitor friendly. Classic breakfast and lunch place with breakfast served until they close. Pancakes, home fries, eggs and biscuits were all winners. This breakfast is simple food done the right way. Reminded me of when dad would make breakfast on a Saturday morning if we didn't have a game or event to be at. Simple, good portions and good food. Before we left the table my son said "I wasn't expecting a lot but it was really good, I'd like to come back". Enough said. I went with my grandpa and thought it was full we didn't wait long and the food we got was so good. I really appreciated the way our waiters were so considerate, with my being grandpa deaf. It can be tough picking a place to eat, especially when you are not familiar with the area....let alone state. I try to pick local spots since you can indulge in franchisees anywhere. Very happy with this diner, plenty of food options and the service made you feel like a local. Went with the Hoss burger with fries and a side of ranch. The burger was a generous size, hoagie bread and didn't overload on the onions which I appreciated. The ranch was fire, on that wingstop ranch level, but only kicker were the fries. They did have the option for sweet potato tots, which I regret not picking. If I am ever back in town, definitely have to stop in again and try those tots. The service was friendly and prompt, the type that will check on you when needed, but not bombard you! Something to look forward to next time I'm in St. George. read more

Wanted to write a review of this place because I was so excited to try it but this was our experience. My family walked in and there was an older waitress there that never spoke to us upon entering. She automatically walked to the back of the restaurant and she gave me a really bad vibe. My family is Mexican, and honestly we didn't feel welcome. And unfortunately this has happened quite a bit to us in Utah. I felt uncomfortable but decided to stay because we are not the type to be pushed away. We waited at the front for a while to be seated. But we were helped by another waiter who treated us as it should. With kindness, respect and professionalism. Throughout our visit, the older waitress would stop by our table to pick up plates but never made eye contact, said a word to us at all, never smiled. Even though the food was good, we will never be returning. So sad that in 2024 people are still being treated this way. read more

Best comfort food in town! I searched for "best breakfast near St. George" and this gem popped up with 4.5 stars so I knew right away that it was where we were going to have breakfast on a Saturday morning. When we got there, we were greeted and warmly welcome by a hostess, Kimmy, the only hosted apparently. She was amazing from the start and one of those people that you wished the world had more of. She was very welcoming and super nice with a constant smile. This place is very lucky to have her. They have a good selection of breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the bacon and eggs that came with hash browns and a biscuit. I am extremely picky with hash browns and it was so good...Nice and crispy. I am not a fan of biscuits, my husband is, but it was sooooo fluffy and yummy! The coffee is delicious, I had 3 refills and asked what kind of coffee it was, Farmer Bros! My husband even got a soda refill to go. Kimmy is the sweetest and I truly believe that this is the reason why this place is doing great and still here. This diner is small but is definitely a local favorite, we had a wait of about 10 minutes arriving on a Saturday just after 9AM. The diner is an old western/ cowboy theme, but the important part was its cleanliness. We met a local couple who stated this was their favorite spot for breakfast. After being seated we soon discovered why, the server was welcoming, friendly and provided excellent service. She made sure we received our beverages fast, while we pondered our order. My wife had sweet tea and I chose the coffee. Both were excellent choices, the coffee had a great flavor with no bitterness, especially considering I had 4 cups. Before we left, the waitress suggested sweet tea to go for my wife, what great service. I ordered the redneck eggs Benedict (2 eggs any style, I chose over easy. 2 sausage patties, sausage gravy over a biscuit with home potatoes or hash browns, I chose home potatoes.). Our breakfast was served in the time it took me to drink one cup of coffee, both orders were hot and smelled wonderful. The sausage gravy was delicious with chunks of sausage in it. The sausage patties were delicious, not greasy or too spicy. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit was moist and perfect for soaking up the egg yolk and gravy. My wife had the biscuits and sausage gravy platter with bacon and scrambled eggs. She devoured the deliciousness combination. One warning, they have two types of gravy, country and sausage. We prefer the sausage gravy. The country gravy is served with the chicken fried steak and is available as a side dish. I was happily surprised at the price for our meal, $30 before the tip.
